Thread 23. TTC #1 - New Year, New Opportunities. Let's keep those BFPs rolling in!

Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

Happy New Year! It's 2017 and it's OUR year Star

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Jam thanks for the banana, PB and milk tip! I really struggle with dairy as I just don't like it. I was vegetarian for 10 years and kept getting B12 deficient as you get it mainly from meat and dairy. As B12 anaemia can cause temporary infertility I have introduced chicken into my diet but I'm still struggling with dairy. I tried the milkshake today and actually like it! Which is huge for me!

Sorry about AF pyjamas Flowers your fuck it day sounds fab.

Fx Hep, Sk1pper and any other testers.

Your ring is lovely Sk1pper. I love that it matchs with your OHs, makes it super personal.

Flowers Binky a good cry every now and again does us good. We're only human and this is hard!

I actually find the bit I'm in now, after AF and before FW the easiest. I try to eat well, drink lots of water, do yoga and everything I can to make my eggs juicy and my lining plump. I actually feel in control. It's the worry of FW going well and symptom spotting in TWW where it all goes downhill and I start to worry about everything.

Hippychic79 · 15/01/2017 07:09

Morning lovely ladies :))
Well I'm delighted to announce that af has arrived 1 day early .... yaaay!
Ok so a slim part of me was hoping that I'd be upduffed but as Oh and I have been struck down for weeks with a damn cold/flu thing we only dtd on cd 9 and i ovulated cd 14 .... so i was fully expecting af this month... PMA result - i didn't stress or symptom spot and i didn't waste my frer's :))). I'm not even counting that as a cycle as we didn't dtd in fw .... so here's to a new cycle ... colds have almost gone and will definitely gone by the time af facks off!

So my stats again ....
Age 38 on Wednesday
TTC #1
Cycle 3

EJ - totally sympathise with you my friend ... oh has quite a low sex drive which really doesn't help tTC as I'm lucky to dtd once in fw let alone twice .... I will be timing the tackle this month and if i ovulate in two weeks from now which I'm expecting ...I will dtd as soon as I see that smiley face ....fx

Just been baby bombed on Facebook!!!!
Grrrr

Xxxxx

Great picture pyjamas!!!

I am in North London!!!!

Sorry about AF hippy Flowers

Was that you offering to start new one hep Wink I do not mind giving it a try?

Hippychic79 · 15/01/2017 08:00

Thanks kwick much appreciate the flowers ... i knew she was coming so pleased it's a day early as I can focus on the next cycle :) xxxx

sk1pper · 15/01/2017 08:06

Binky - sorry you had to excuse yourself to have a little cry but well done for having the control to do it privately, were all here for you if you need to vent.

Hippy - noooooo what a pain, I thought you'd be one of miracle BFPS. Flowers hope you're okay

I'm ashamed to say I tested this morning...twice. I got confused between the control line and test line and got super excited...I should have realised that the test line needed to be there regardless or it would be invalid. Anyway, it was the usual snowy white I always get, AF isn't due until Wednesday but I've been feeling heavy and having red spotting so I though maybe it was implantation. Who am I kidding. Good luck to any other testers xx

Pyjamas81 · 15/01/2017 08:29

Sorry about AF hippy and BFN skipper 💐

AF should be finishing up today (mine only lasts 2 days max) so I'm getting into most relaxed part of cycle - I know am not pg, but have none of the pressure of FW, forced dtd, temping or symptom spotting. Will be booking my HSG for this week.

HepKestrel · 15/01/2017 08:38

Go for it kwick. I don't know how to make the images.

My sore boobs have come and gone, as has my elevated heart rate, so confident AF will arrive tomorrow or Tuesday.

sk1pper · 15/01/2017 08:43

Sorry Hep - I'm still hopeful for you though.

Pyjamas - you'll be having yours way before mine, please tell me everything when you've done it xx

Pyjamas81 · 15/01/2017 09:02

Will definitely tell you all the details skipper! I'm a bit apprehensive about it (I find smear tests agony, so this will be worse), but it has to be done.

sk1pper · 15/01/2017 09:07

Yeah I'm worried about it too, but you'll be absolutely fine and remember to DTD as much as possible once you've healed and a lot of people get their BFPS straight after it.

EJ2009 · 15/01/2017 09:18

With all these af's and bfn we need some good news.

Sk1pper, when is your wedding & what sort are you having?

Anyone else got good news?

geeup · 15/01/2017 09:25

Urgh CD1. Last ticket for Feb 10th then we'll start IVF :(

HepKestrel · 15/01/2017 09:36

Flowers geeup

Think we need a new kwick spell.

So lucky-me will have a smear test to look forward to before I ovulate again.... Sigh. Not sure I'll have a fuck it day in the near future. Next weekend will be another IKEA -assembly day..... Don't think that counts.

Hippychic79 · 15/01/2017 10:02

Thanks ladies :)))
So good news ....
Ummm ... I have no period pains and I'm remaining positive for the next cycle ...
Other good news -
We're all fabulous
Sk1pper is getting hitched soon
We all have lovely partners and ...
We all have each other ...
Xxxx

MissyJones83 · 15/01/2017 10:06

Sorry gee Flowers fx this cycle is in the bag for you!

MissyJones83 · 15/01/2017 10:08

hippy skip Flowers

OrangeCloud18 · 15/01/2017 10:18

Still no AF, got another BFN this weekend. I am having endo pain though so expecting AF any time now.

On a good news front, I have an interview for a new job :)
I'm not sure if it's a good idea when TTC but oh well!
I'm just a bit confused if I get the job and discover I'm pregnant if I can get any maternity leave pay or not...

sk1pper · 15/01/2017 10:26

Urge sorry Gee - defy need a quick spell, its turning into a shitty day already for our little TTC gang. Flowers

EJ - wedding is In June, were having a small ceremony with parents and siblings then afternoon tea afterwards with extended family. Unlike most people I can't stand being centre of attention so I want it to be small and private with people I know very well. I realise it probably seems a bit weird that we started TTC before getting hitched but there was good reason (we've been engaged 7 years and there's always been something getting in the way). Also I'm conscious my mother and grandmother had emergency hysterectomies in their early 30s and I'm 30 this year...feel like a time bomb about to go off at the moment. Glad I started trying when I did as it's taking so long.

Binkybunny13 · 15/01/2017 10:35

Gee Flowers
Skipper wedding plans sound lovely 😊 We didn't have a big wedding but still struggled to speak to everyone properly- yours sounds fab
Orange HMRC have a calculator you can use where you can put in a predicted due date and see when you had to start working for a company and whether you're eligible for SMP etc. I'm starting a new job in a couple of weeks and won't be eligible for SMP unless I don't get pregnant until march. TBH, I'm hoping that this invokes Sod's law and I get pregnant now, but realistically the way things are going I think more likely I'll end up being eligible!

passmethewine123 · 15/01/2017 11:11

Hi, can I join?! New to all this!

Wine
TTC #1
Cycle 1
CD 20

This is our first month trying. Unfortunately haven't been tracking my periods for the last few months so unsure when to expect AF. My cycles tend to vary from 26-33 days although I probably do have quite a few 28 day.

FF put my OD as Monday (9th) however I haven't had clear symptoms or been doing BBT or OPK's so when it actually happened is anyone's guess. Monday I did have sharp pains on one side so that would concur however I had small amounts of EWCM from Monday through to Friday. Friday I was really bloated and that was the day my CM changed to white/creamy...sorry TMI!

I was convinced I would be so cool and laid back about this but I couldn't have been more wrong. Absolutely obsessed with my imaginary symptoms! Which so far include basically nothing obvious. My nipples felt ever so slightly tingly last night and looking at them this morning I think I might be able to see some very slight changes in them but I think I am prob imagining it. CP is medium-high wet and soft, CM is white and creamy...sorry TMI again! Have been getting lots of hot flushes since Monday, and had a mild on off headache. I can't believe how much this has taken over my life in the last 2 weeks!!

AF could be due at the earliest on the 21st and at the latest around the 28th so I have no idea when to think about testing! I don't get many obvious PMS symptoms apart from tender boobs which then subside a day or two before AF comes.

Fingers crossed for all of you in the 2WW Smile

miwelaisjacydo · 15/01/2017 12:28

Hi 👋 pass,
Welcome my only advice I would give would be to not become obsessed with when you think you are ovulating.

My other advice is don't pee on a stick unless your late as it will only cause you upset.

Never and I mean never trust your boobs.

Poppet8583 · 15/01/2017 12:32

Orange you only need to be at your job a few weeks to qualify and as Binky said, you can check online to work out the dates. I work in HR so I have to help people work out their maternity leave/pay quite often!

Basically you have to be employed at your company 26 weeks at the 15th week before your due date. If you don't qualify, you'll still be able to claim statutory pay from the government. Hope that puts your mind at rest a bit (I also think that changing jobs shouldn't stop you TTC - my best friend did that as her job was really stressful and as soon as she quit, she got pregnant and had to tell her new employer on her first day!)

kwick · 15/01/2017 12:39

hep I do not know how to make the images either!!!

pyjamas dose up on drugs before the HSG.

hippy hate to destroy bonhomie but I have NO partner!!!

sk1pper your wedding plans sound right up my street Grin

Welcome wine!!!

Okey dokey hep your wish is my command!!!
By the powers vested in me by the good witch of the West
I do declare a fertility fest
BFPS will be found galore
The stork will be knocking at everyone's door

Hippychic79 · 15/01/2017 13:02

Sorry kwick I really didn't realise you had no partner ... I forget everyone's stats ... my memory is shocking ... I profusely apologise if I have caused offence xxx

WingingIt83 · 15/01/2017 13:10

Sorry geeup but at least the next stage is now planned out for you although never the outcome we want when starting ttc.

Sorry too hippy and any others the witch has got.

I'm rather smugly upbeat today as think we've nailed the dtd timing more than other cycles. Opkd for first time in a while, positive opk 7pm fri (had also tested in morning) and still very dark 7am sat morning so think I caught the start of lh surge. Shed loads of ewcm sat eve and also left pelvic twinge which I am thinking was ovulation. Slight temp rise both sat and sun morning. Dtd wed night, fri night and sat night and will try again tonight too. I know consecutive days aren't ideal but leaving it would prob mean it's too late anyway.

C'Mon cycle 11!!!
