Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

Happy New Year! It's 2017 and it's OUR year Star

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Hi everyone - one time poster, long time lurker and hoping I can come back into the fold!

Age - 35 (dh is 41)
Ttc #1
Cycle 7
Testing on 14th Jan

Dh and I have been to the Lister Clinic in London (thought they were great) for initial testing - his SA results were good, my ultrasound was fine and I am ovulating but I have low AMH levels for my age, so the clock is literally ticking Confused

Fx for all of us in 2017!!

bluebell17 · 03/01/2017 00:03

Happy birthday Harriet and pug
Welcome bluebell

kwick · 03/01/2017 07:11

We aim to please mouse 😘
Would not worry about deli meats (or any of the other things mouse) but for future - I did a bit if research and in things like jamon serrano you can kill off toxoplasmosis by freezing for 48 hours - this is what we did this Christmas as I could not deny my family the piggywiggy pleasure for another year.

Welcome eva!!!

Welcome back pyjamas!!!
AMH is just a number baby - mine is low too... just saying. I think Lister os the clinic that actually prescribes milk - please share details!

Welcome bluebell!!!

Fricking last day before going back to work Angry

HepKestrel · 03/01/2017 07:25

Welcome Eva welcome back pyjamas

My last day of leisure too..... Though that means preparing a presentation for Thursday and clearing the house of Christmas and preparing for a guest whilst OH returns today.

Have given up on fw now. Tww with warm feet commences.

Really need to get out of bed in 5 minutes.......

Pyjamas81 · 03/01/2017 07:29

EJ2009 · 03/01/2017 07:40

Revision of my stats

Age 30
Ttc #1
Cycle 7
CD 15

Haven't had a positive opk which is odd as i normally have a positive on cd 11 /12. I stopped temping ladt cycle as it was stressing me but took it last two days out of curiosity & it's low. Not impressed.

sk1pper · 03/01/2017 08:06

Missy - my luteal phase wasn't the worst example around. My cycle was roughly 26 days in total but for the last 5 days I'd have brown spotting. I believe that I've lengthened it to 28 days and removed the spotting by taking vitamin E and EPO daily until ovulation, and fish oil daily throughout the cycle. I tend to take the EPO and fish oil together as they balance each other out.

EJ - looking at two temps will show you nothing, you haven't got the context of the rest of your chart. Try not to worry!

I'm back to work today, appointment is at 3pm so I'm leaving early. Cannot be bothered to go out in the freezing cold.

Kathrino · 03/01/2017 08:28

Feeling quite smug because I got up early to do a yoga work out this morning. Pretty sure by tomorrow I'll be back to staying in bed to the last possible moment. Commiserations to those who are back to work today like me and enjoy today for those that are going back tomorrow!

Hello to bluebell and welcome back pyjamas :)

Thanks for the list jam, a few people testing towards the end of the week so hopefully we'll start the year with some lovely BFPs!

Miranda234 · 03/01/2017 09:31

Welcome all newbies Smile

Jam please could you put me down for Jan 21st

kwick · 03/01/2017 09:31

hep I may have to go on a work call today but I need to focus on personal stuff - a day of decluttering... so glad though that I managed to get back to sleep until a short while ago, even though my dreams were not so nice.

I think I got that right pyjamas - it is where I stole borrowed the drinking of copious amounts of milk from AF to ovulation from...

Best of luck with appointment sk1pper

Eva30 · 03/01/2017 09:41

Thanks ladies
EJ I'm exactly the same as you. I stopped temping this month as trying to relax a bit. I thought I got +ve opk on cd16 but the 2nd line wasn't as dark as they have been previous months, and I didn't get ov pain which I do usually get. So frustrating not knowing whether I have or haven't ov! I carried on with the opks until yesterday (cd20) and no +ve. I ran out of opks so ordered some more now, and I'll be going back to temping next month. I actually felt more relaxed being the control freak that I am!!
Hey pjs

Pyjamas81 · 03/01/2017 10:22

Milk is a new one on me kwick! Shame I hate milk ha ha. Doubt almond milk does quite the same thing!

That's how I felt during my no temping or OPK month eva - was almost a bit more stressful, especially because we're not an at it like rabbits kind of couple. Now doing something in between by just temping until ov is picked up then hiding my thermometer for the rest of the TWW. Feel better already.

kwick · 03/01/2017 10:52

Nope pyjamas almond milk not quite the same. But yoghurt may be ok? I am sure the clinic will advise and I have probably got things wrong

Waiting to see GP to see what they suggest re: work travel

Tried a total of 7 cycles, with an mc at 11weeks on cycle 5.

Being back a work sucks balls.

kavanaughkj · 03/01/2017 11:33

Doesn't it just, Skip. I could do with another week off to finish clearing my flat up!

Heya to all the new ladies! My stats (you will usually find me on the grad thread but I still feel like I don't want to leave here yet as it's still such early days!)

Kav

As of today, 8+4 with raspberry conceived on 11th cycle of trying. Trying to remain calm and not Google every little twinge!

Londonjam · 03/01/2017 12:07

Welcome newbies and welcome back old posters.

Pyjamas I can highly recommend blending frozen banana with organic whole fat milk and peanut butter. You could add maca or chia for extra fertility goodness!

kathrino I'm inspired by your yogic morning! Will try and do that tomorrow.

Pyjamas81 · 03/01/2017 12:20

Thanks London! I've had that before but with almond milk - it's delicious!! Will give it a go with milk and see if it makes me feel ill. Have always hated milk - much to my mum's annoyance when I was a kid! Will give yoghurt a go as well Smile

So many depressed people at work today - lottery sales will be sky high I reckon!

Have to make appointment at clinic to get tubes checked by X-ray (just to rule it out hopefully) anyone know how much this costs roughly? Has to be in first 5 days of cycle, which is difficult as am not entirely sure when that will be due to apparent early ov this month! Damn travelling messing with my cycles...

WingingIt83 · 03/01/2017 12:30

Ok so I'm a terrible person for not getting calcium -is that why milk is important? I rarely eat cereal and don't drink or coffee.

I can do yoghurt easily enough though as can eat those at my desk -full fat presumably?

AlexiaB · 03/01/2017 13:03

Welcome back pyjamas and welcome Bluebell and all other newbies!

Hi Alice Good to hear from you. What are your bloods for? Flowers

There are so many of us testing around Jan 6th. Surely there has to be a few BFPs there? The tww crazy has got me guilty My temp went up a lot today and I've now decided I could be pregnant which is ridiculous. Watch it crash back down tomorrow lol

Also word of warning... Do not go pushchair shopping online like this silly person did as the baby adverts follow you literally EVERYWHERE you go on your phone. Leave. Me. Alone.

Flowers for all those back at work.

wingingit I'm a non-dairy eater in part because of the milk-calcium myth. Have a wee google, but it seems that there is much evidence to support the theory that calcium is leached from your body if you drink milk, due to the acidifying effect milk has. Also look at osteo diseases in high milk consumption countries!

FXSkip · 03/01/2017 13:08

Oh alexia what were you thinking!! I do all my baby research on Pinterest so it doesn't translate into google search results and ads because I'm signed into google at work too so would be all over my work computer!!

AlexiaB · 03/01/2017 13:12

I know, I know I'm an idiot. My desperation to baby shop got the better of me! I now need to go and google something totally unrelated like... Makeup.

I'm another who avoids dairy where possible. Milk is meant for calves to grow big and strong, not humans. It seems weird to me.
