Calling all OPK-ers, Temp-ers, Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, IUI-ers, IVF-ers and anyone else on the TTC #1 Bus.

Happy New Year! It's 2017 and it's OUR year Star

We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area. We've ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar, and we don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts, we just keep it legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face!

We have a new Grad's Thread. We recently lost a whole load of ttc veterans to the good side and we're absolutely desperate to join in the fun! May 2017 lead us all to upduffed heaven and the Grad's thread, amen.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly, don't convince yourself that you're pregnant in the tww. That is paramount!

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share...

Hello all. I'm finally back for real. waves at Kwick, FXSkip, Hep and anyone else who was here last year. I'm finally trying again, DH uttered the magic words over Christmas and I've scuttled back here as there is no way I will be able to do this without people to talk to! Congrats kwick and FXSkip so pleased for you both!

Hope all is well with everyone in the new year. Here's to trying to make a baby and get it to the right place!

ns1348 · 03/01/2017 15:55

Hi all,

ns
30 (31 tomorrow!)
Got my BFP on Sunday, and am 4 weeks today I think

Feel like I'm not quite ready to leave yet, though think I'll join grads thread in next few days.

Pug Happy birthday for yesterday, hope you had a great day!

Aware it's very early days for me still. Am 13 dpo today, and praying no AF/chemical around the corner (though I expected AF 3 days ago, but wasn't sure of that).

Orange maybe you've already done more research than me on what might happen with endometriosis during pregnancy, but I was worried by this persistent dull cramp on my right when my uterus sits to left. Even though I've had bits of what I presumed was endo pain there recently I hadn't made the connection, but after some googling, it's common for pain to remain/worsen in first trimester before it settles, so hoping it's that. Would make sense. In a way it was actually an early 'sign' for me: the night before BFP I said to DH 'if I'm not pregnant I'm going to doc as think my endo's getting worse'.

I'm also peeing all the time and have been since about 9dpo. No other real signs, besides a bit of bloating at this point.

Alexia sorry for all the pushchairs Sad

I think you're still in with a chance hippy if you dtd tonight. Must be so frustrating with the conflicting schedules! My ov was a lot earlier this month so we missed the first half of fw and only dtd on positive OPK day and the two days after, so hopes are not high...

Congrats on your Bfp ns!

kwick · 03/01/2017 16:01

Just read a chapter in "Expecting better" about how I have higher MC chances as old bird and have previously had an MC. FFS.

PMA, PMA, PMA

Does not help that my womble feels like it will fall out of my body any minute.

PMA, PMA, PMA

On a brighter note did a FRER with about 20thMU and got a second line real fast.

PMA, PMA, PMA

My rabbit is here...

Flipping heck jam that is ages away! Defo go for a private hycosy if you can - takes loads of pain relief up front!

Welcome redpony!!!

flash welcome back honey !!!!

Kaydee2017 · 03/01/2017 16:09

Hi all, wondering if I can join in? I have been reading along for a while Smile

I'm 27, cycle 1 (coming off OCP), CD23

Giving the relaxed thing a go for a few months, so no temping or OPKs as yet (although tempted by all the boxes on Fertility Friend I am having to leave blank!)!

Good luck to all those testing soon Grin

Hippychic79 · 03/01/2017 16:21

Missy - makes me wonder why I bothered with contraception for all those years xxx

sk1pper · 03/01/2017 16:31

Had my appointment. Specialist was really nice and friendly, said my GP had done an excellent job with my tests and the only thing left to do was a HSG. I saw someone asking about this earlier, well it's the dye flush with x-ray. They gave me a sheet so I feel all knowledgeable now.

Pretty happy, this is kind of what I've wanted from the start as I'm convinced my tubes are gunked up. However, she said I wouldn't be eligible for IVF right now because my BMI is too low. I tried to explain that it's impossible for me to put on weight (I made myself really sick trying one time) and she's suggested buying whey and protein shakes...ugh. But I'll cross the bridge if and when I come to it. She said that in a lot of cases a dye wash cures infertility so fx. Just got to wait for my next period as it will be on CD10.

OrangeCloud18 · 03/01/2017 16:33

ns I read that too, you can still feel endo pain the first trimester and then you should be mostly endo pain free until you give birth/are done breastfeeding. I'm seeing my endo gynae next month.
It' annoying though because most of the pregnancy symptoms are what I get with endo so until I test I should not trust anything...
I've had cramps for about 10 days now and feel nauseous in the evenings which is usually the case when I've got endo cramps...
I got a stabbing pain on the right last night so I think my period are brewing and I'm out for the month.

kwick I'm 23 and will be on the pregnancy to watch category because in my family 1/2 of pregnancies end in MC.

Kathrino · 03/01/2017 16:35

Jam, I'm sorry you've got 2 months to go until the appointment, it must be so frustrating when you just want to get things moving.

Welcome redpony and kaydee. Welcome back flash!

Keeping everything crossed for you missy!

Keep up the PMA kwick. There are so many people who sadly MC but then go on to have a happy and healthy pregnancy. There is absolutely zero reason why you will not be one of them!

Think I'm 11 DPO and still feeling a bit crampy. Can't decide whether to start POAS tomorrow when I will inevitability get a BFN so I don't start getting my hopes up or just see what happens and test on Sat if no AF. I don't believe it will happen but not sure when it's best to start dashing any tiny hope I might have!

Pyjamas81 · 03/01/2017 16:50

Thanks for the info on HSG sk1pper! Fx that the dye flushes out any issues we may have!

sk1pper · 03/01/2017 16:55

When are you going to get yours done Pyjamas? Want me to scan in my sheet for you?

Londonjam · 03/01/2017 16:56

skipper that's such great news. A HSG straight away is brilliant, that's great you don't have to wait.

Do I wait two months and do it through the NHS or pay £400 and go private?? The guy said you can call up for cancellations, and I'm thinking there must be lots of people waiting who get pregnant and end up cancelling, so you never know, we might get in sooner.

I can't help but still think we will need IVF though. I'm convinced its the low morphology that's preventing it. Despite three separate doctors telling me it isn't...

Welcome back flash I remember you, and all the newbies. I've added you onto the list. It's booming now!

kathrino I'm 11 DPO today too. Got a whole fat nothing going on - no testing, no cramping, no nausea, no wind, no cm. Boobs still sore but that's standard! Am waiting out AF. Is anyone else testing?

Macy91 · 03/01/2017 17:07

Hi - hope it's ok to join.

Macy91
Age: 25 (DH 27)
TTC: #1
Cycle: 1
AF due: 09/01*

*Diagnosed with endometriosis last year, had no periods for a while due to medication. Cleared to TTC and AF returned last month, so 09/01 is an estimate based on last month, but not sure if cycles are back to normal yet.

Kathrino · 03/01/2017 17:09

Thanks Jam, I know you're right and I should wait it out - the cramping doesn't mean anything at all. God this is boring isn't it? I found the spreadsheet I created this time last year where I calculated all of the EDD based on what month in 2016 I got pregnant. Oh to be that innocent and naive again.

Re paying privately for medical stuff, I tend to do that quite often (presuming it's not extortionate) if for no other reason than it gives me a sense of control and doesn't make me feel like I'm at the whims of the NHS.

I missed your post sk1pper but excellent news from your appointment today and hopefully the HSG does the trick!

Pyjamas81 · 03/01/2017 17:12

I was told it has to be in first 5 days of cycle sk1pper - AF (I think) is due on 14th Jan so am going to book it in for 16th Jan as my AF only lasts a day or two. If I could take a look at your sheet, that would be great! When are you doing yours?

I know it's hard and everyone is different kathrino, but I always wait until AF is due as hate seeing BFNs and AF usually shows before I waste any tests. I figure that when I test won't make any difference to the end result, so I may as well wait - easier said than done though!

I'm going private London - low AMH means I'm even more impatient than I was before! But fx you can get in on a cancellation sooner.

Starmist · 03/01/2017 17:18

Wow welcome to all the newbies!

I'm star, 33, got my BFP on cycle 11. Currently 6+1 with a chocolate chip. Not many symptoms apart from some bloating & boob growth - need to purchase a bigger bra asap! Doesn't feel real & time is dragging, want a scan to check everything is ok.

Hope everyone is well xxx

WingingIt83 · 03/01/2017 17:21

jam I'm the same and contemplating just paying for it but prob will wait and see what gp says first as haven't got blood results yet or got DH tested.

sk1p What has your gp done themselves so far?

AFireInside · 03/01/2017 17:31

Evening everyone Grin.
Kathrino & London I am so tempted to test but only 8DPO so not sure. I'm having a some pink spotting but I am not jumping to BFP conclusions!
Congratulations Star!!!

OrangeCloud18 · 03/01/2017 17:34

Welcome Macy !

I have endo too, I'm at the end of my Cycle 1 TTC.

colourmylife · 03/01/2017 17:43

Just catching up from yesterday.
Thanks for the list Jam please put me down for 17th Jan.

Londonjam · 03/01/2017 17:47

That's it isn't it - the sense of control kathrino am with y ou there

winging what cycle are you on now?

I think if we hadn't got the low morphology result I would just go for it, as then there wouldn't be anything wrong with us at all that we know about. If its a problem with sperm that's stopping it, then investigation / treatment for isn't going to help I don't think. Although even as I type I'm thinking maybe it would help to get more of that sperm where it needs to be and therefore more likely to meet egg? Ugh.

sk1pper · 03/01/2017 18:01

Jam - only you can answer that question. Can you loose £400? Two months isn't a long time to wait but I know how long that can feel like when you're TTC. I kind of feel we pay all these taxes, so why not get it for free on the NHS. But up to you, if it will make you feel better then it's worth the cash xx

Pyjamas - my consultant told me it should be after AF, around CD10. If you have it done during your period it can cause more issues than cure as it flushes crap up your tubes rather than out. Mine will be on the 28th Jan if AF is on time and they have availability on that date. Will scan the sheets in for you when I get back!!

Winging - I've had 2 blood tests for hormone levels (inc progesterone), a swab, an ultra sound (internal and external) and OH had a sperm analysis.

kwick · 03/01/2017 18:31

Welcome kay!!!

sk1pper sounds encouraging. You have too low a BMI for FFS? These NHSers are never happy!!!! Do you fancy some of my extra BMI?

orange Flowers have any of your family members been screened as to why?

kathrino I always test early - way to manage hopes. To do it cheaply I buy internet cheapies... which for this BFP did not work!!! But a FRER did on 14dpo.

fxskip o data analysis queen: have you done any quantitative analysis with advanced logarithms of when a hycosy works its magic. I had 2 IUIs after mine, BFP with the second one.

Welcome macy!!!

afire whilst I test early I definitely wait until at least 10 days after transfer/insemination, so 6 days b4 OTD.

So have also been reading "Right Time Baby" and I quote:
your chances of miscarriage don't go up if you've had a previous pregnancy loss. Its shown that 97 per cent of couples who suffer a miscarriage end up being parents, so the odds are definitely in your favour.
I am sticking with this one!!!!

OrangeCloud18 · 03/01/2017 19:02

kwick You having a MC before does not mean you will have one now.
My mum has a blocked tube, had 7 miscarriges and 4 babies. For Baby #3 and #4, my mum had had a MC beforehand. For Baby #2, she had several miscarriages, one of them bad MC and ended up in the hospital. The month after, when she was supposed to be careful, she conceived Baby #2. I am the only one (Baby #1) that was conceived without a MC beforehand and it took her 7 months to get pregnant.
To answer your question, the reason why there is so many MC in my family is because the uterus contracts too much. I think because of this the placenta cannot do its job properly and the heart stops.
