Thought I'd start the January bus, anyone else hoping for their BFP to welcome in the new year?
My stats are -
Age 23
TTC #2
CD 10
Cycle -- hard to put a number on, been trying a year but have had two losses, 5w and 12w so not sure where to count from.

Sorry winging still early yet though.

Back to work today Sad

Off to do some serious day dreaming/symptom spotting i think!!

hmyh23 · 03/01/2017 08:00

4th flashing smiley in a row today, gah! Will DTD again today but then my husband goes away until Saturday so just hoping we won't miss out. Not sure whether to keep OPK testing for the next few days as it will probably just stress me out/upset me if it happens when he's away but on the other hand it would be quite handy to pin down ovulation day for future reference as this is my first month using them. Have DTD CD8, CD10, CD12, CD14, CD16, CD17, CD18 so have given it a good go this month.

hmyh23 · 03/01/2017 08:00

Conversations on the BFPs and sorry to anyone who's missed out, fingers crossed for the early testers that you're still in with a shot xx

Kskifred · 03/01/2017 09:43

So did another FRER this morning and pleased to say I didn't have to stand on my head/hold under a flashlight/cross my eyes to see the bfp line today Grin

12dpo today according to FF and once the usual AF has been and gone on Thursday I can start celebrating I guess, although let's face it I'm already excited.

Boobs are on fire today, most unusual for me.

FX for testers over the next few days and to the success of all the bonkers during FW

Anna2006 · 03/01/2017 10:18

I'm now starting my 2ww today as 1DPO. Will be testing on 15th Jan, day after AF due. Really gonna try hold out til then!

Hmyh looks like you have given it a very good shot this month. I would be very hopefully with those odds!

Londonexhile · 03/01/2017 11:34

Don't lose hope until AF arrives winging I had BFN at 8DPO 9DPO & 11DPO!! It took until 13 DPO to pick something up!!

Bubblegum89 · 03/01/2017 11:42

Probably a silly question but do you tend to get the same symptoms every time you get pregnant? For example, my first preg sign was sore boobs/stinging nipples both times I got pregnant, is it likely that will be my first sign again? Or can it be completely different? Also in the same way, do you always tend to get the same symptoms before AF every time? So say, just before AF is coming you get cramping and your boobs hurt, will those symptoms happen every time more or less or can they change completely?

Kskifred · 03/01/2017 12:01

I'm also about to google the same thing Bubblegum! I have an extremely engorged sensitive chest - I would go as far to say I have no sensation in them most of the time, with the exception of breastfeeding my DS in those early days (that was summin' else). Never experienced this with DS pregnancy. Also nauseous already so hoping this isn't a sign of things to come.

Bubblegum89 · 03/01/2017 12:08

Glad I'm not the only one wondering kskifred lol other than sore boobs, fatigue and gut feeling I didn't have any other symptoms with my other pregnancies. The only thing I don't have this time is gut feeling. The only symptoms I ever got before a period was slight cramping and being moody. It's all so confusing Confused

minime2016 · 03/01/2017 12:10

Morning ladies! Good luck to all waiting to test. I'm on CD 3 after what I now believe was a chemical. Hadn't a clue what a chemical was until coming onto the site, and now know more thanks to frantic internet searching since the weekend. Having come home from our visit to friends, I checked my tests again and the faintest pink lines and thick faint blue can be seen. I was beginning to think I'd imagined them and the many symptoms I had, which have now gone (bigger swollen boobs being one) I'm now getting myself ready for this cycle whatever way it'll pan out. Anyone with advice following a chemical (what to eat/supplements/vitamins etc) please feel free as I'd like to make the next one stick x

Mrsbluebell17 · 03/01/2017 12:12

Glad to hear you have a clear BFP now kskifred.

I've changed my user details from bluebell by the way, but it's not too dissimilar!

I've just done my first OPK ever.....I understand this means it's negative. I think I might have ovulated a day or two ago but will do another opk tomorrow to see how it changes just incase.

Question: does SOME colour on the opk test line mean that I will or will have ovulated? Or does the colour come anyway? I wanted to find out if I am actually ovulating after coming off the pill 3 months ago. I think I am as I think I had that chemical pg a little while back, but wanted to be sure.

January bus anyone?
Mrsbluebell17 · 03/01/2017 12:20

Minime - so sorry to hear about your chemical. It's horrible isn't it!

Great question, I never thought about possible vitamins etc to help post chemical.... will look out for others responses!

Itsjustaphase84 · 03/01/2017 12:21

Hey bluebell I'm using same opks and I been getting faint ones last couple of days but no stronger.im due to ov tomorrow but I think I may already have as ov symptoms gone now. I'm going to do an opk later to see if fades.
I'm know that line needs to be darker but I don't know how it couldn't be with all my ov signs last 2 days. Surely even a faint line means ov if it's now gone??

Mrsbluebell17 · 03/01/2017 12:30

Thanks for replying itsjustaphase. It's reassuring that someone else is wondering the same. I'll test again tonight and tomorrow and see what the difference is. Hoping this might help my POAS obsession Hmm
Let me know how you get on!

Bows85 · 03/01/2017 13:04

Mrsbluebell and itsjustaphase - you're likely to have LH in your urine throughout the month and it's not uncommon to have a faint second line every time you take a test. That line will darken to match, or go darker, than the control line when you have your LH surge. Once you have the surge, you should then ovulate. Smile
I was over the moon to get a strong positive on my OPK last cycle (on CD21 on a 31 day cycle) after such a long time on the pill.
Feeling really stressy today though. It's CD21 today and barely a sniff on today's OPK. I was worried about my short lp last cycle, now massively panicking that I'm not actually ovulating and pregnancy isn't going to happen.
TTC is so stressful.
Feeling very blue!

Mrsbluebell17 · 03/01/2017 13:20

Thanks for the info bows. Useful to know this, so I really need to do a whole month from when AF finished to try and get a feel for what is happening. I'll order some more as I only ordered 30 to see what was going on but sounds like I'll get through them pretty quickly.
It is tough isn't it, all the concerns or worries. A friend told me that when we do TTC I should try not to think or worry about it and it will happen eventually. I now know that IS NOT POSSIBLE when you are a worrier like me Grin

Lovechild2016 · 03/01/2017 13:28

Cd 33 here, no symptoms of pregnancy and lots of BFN so I've stopped testing as I must have pissed on about £50 this month already! Is it possible miss a period then ovulate as normal?

Kskifred · 03/01/2017 13:53

Sorry minime Flowers I had a chemical last month and it is so cruel to have your excitement crushed. I too had never heard of this before MN. Are current tests now showing bfn then after your bleed? x

Jellybabie3 · 03/01/2017 14:19

Does anyone have an opinion on alcohol and caffeine consumption during 2ww?

And exercise? I am carrying some Christmas weight - may be dumb question but theres no damage i can do? Eg situps

MrsC2017 · 03/01/2017 14:29

Hi everyone,
Can I join? I'm ttc #2 this month. #1 is almost 7 and was unplanned when I was young so I'm obsessing over doing everything by the book this time! Already stressed and not even started. Expecting AF Friday or Saturday and will be trying from once that ends then so BFP would be around 30th/31st of Jan (my cycles are pretty short for the most part).
Feel totally clueless, have app that gives me a rough estimation of ovulation so will go with that for first few cycles. Taking folic acid since end of October... Not sure if I should be doing/taking anything else....? Throat is sore and am chesty atm so hoping won't need antibiotics or anything that could interfere with things! Anyway, any advice is appreciated... Anyone else trying after a big gap in age too? Seems hard to imagine going back at this stage but feel ready all the same :) so Ttc #2, cycle #1,BFP hopefully due Jan 30th, good luck to all this monthSmile

MotherofUnicorns · 03/01/2017 15:50

HI lovechild I had a 40+ dya cycle in sept / oct and ovulatied at about day 30 so i think it is possible to skip and ovulate really late. I think the same might have happened this month as i seemed ro ovulate on cd24.
It is really frustrating isn;t it??
I wish i could wee on something that charted all of my hormones at once and i could get a clear picture of LH / HcG /oestrogen / Progesterone all together! Can someone please invent that...??
I am currently cd28 and possibly 4dpo who knows what is going on with me seriously....

ttcnovice · 03/01/2017 16:08

Hi bows I'm in the same position as you - passed the cycle day I ovulated on last month and still not even a whiff of a positive on an OPK. Really worried too about a potential short LP, and even more so about potentially having months where I don't ovulate at all.

Can I ask what OPKs you are using? Last month I used Tesco's and they worked perfectly - the lines got gradually darker until I got a positive, and then tailed back off after my LH surge ended. This month to save my poor bank balance I've been using internet cheapies, and there's just been no darkening at all, so hoping wondering if that could be anything to do with it?

hmyh23 · 03/01/2017 17:01

Thanks @Anna2006 we are sick of the sight of each other TBH 😂😂 Just hope I ovulate tonight really so we don't miss it!

BertieBotts · 03/01/2017 17:02

Been different for me all three times. Frustratingly!

Jelly exercise is fine. If you're pregnant baby is tucked right down in your pelvis at the moment.

My motto has always been drink til it's pink but lately been avoiding in the last week of TWW just in case. I don't drink much anyway so it's no big deal. I don't cut caffeine consumption until I know though.

MrsC my DS is 8, and will be at least 9 even if I got pregnant this month! It's a little bit nerve wracking but I'm excited :)

minime2016 · 03/01/2017 17:09

Hi kskifred - yes my ic test was pure white today. I had a very very faint ic yesterday afternoon but tested again this morning and it's a definite negative. Had a mini panic attack when I did tests and got positives-I'm a real worrier and my mind went into overdrive thinking of appointments and what could go wrong. This maybe didn't help things. I'd just settled into the idea and showed my DH the test on NY day when af showed. Gutted in one sense but at least we know we are both producing the goods needed. i was worrying (surprisingly) about needing intervention. We may still need it but ATM I'm happy to give it another few months to see what happens. I've bought seven seas pre conception vits to see if it makes any difference this month. I've also ordered frers (x4) so I'm not left wondering and stressing if I'm late again.
