Thought I'd start the January bus, anyone else hoping for their BFP to welcome in the new year?
My stats are -
Age 23
TTC #2
CD 10
Cycle -- hard to put a number on, been trying a year but have had two losses, 5w and 12w so not sure where to count from.

Thanks, it's a bit frustrating as the one time I need to be DTD is the same time I need to be checking my CM Confused

I got a very strong positive OPK Monday night, had two slightly lighter positives Tuesday. Both days I've had cramps and pains in my ovaries. I thought you only ovulated from one ovary at a time but although I've had most of the pain in my right hand side, I've also had a bit in the left too which is odd. Trying to figure out when I'm actually ovulating is confusing me now though! I've had the cramps, positive OPK's and clear, watery, stretchy CM albeit mixed with semen lol but I guess I just wait until I start getting negatives on the OPK's again? Going to try and get in some BD tomorrow night as OH is off work but playing a set at a wedding and won't be back until about midnight. Does sex at midnight-1am count as that night or the next day? I hate being such a newbie at this!

Amz26 · 28/12/2016 02:24

bubble It's all very confusing! I never really got a strong positive on the OPK so I was guessing when I ovulated to be honest! Getting my BFP was more luck the judgment to be honest!!!

After getting the darkest line on the OPK test, I then just waited for the OPK to get lighter to judge if I had ovulated!! It was still a guess tho!!! I think unless you have been TTC for a while you don't really know your body well enough to know what's going on!! Well I know that's what happened with me

I would count the bedding late at night/early am as the day as I tend to DTD past 12 at night xx

Hippychic79 · 28/12/2016 08:31

Congrats amz xxxxxxxx

Bubblegum89 · 28/12/2016 08:51

It is so confusing! How long were you TTC for before you got your BFP? This is only my first cycle off BC so I'm expecting it to be a little while yet. So if I was to BD at say, 1.30 am on Sunday then would I class that as having done it on Saturday or Sunday? Seems like a silly question lol

krakentoast · 28/12/2016 09:07

Congrats Amz!! Very good reason to lose my NYE testing buddy Wink

krakentoast · 28/12/2016 09:27

OH wait, Missy was my NYE testing buddy anyway!! Haha, serves me right for not reading the thread properly

MissMagpie · 28/12/2016 09:33

Congrats Amz. Always good to see a BFP in here!

So AF finally has arrived. She kept me guessing late this month. Feeling very hard done by. Though it took 12 cycles with my DS so I don't know why.

Does anyone else find their PMS symptoms are stronger or slightly different when they take pre-conception vitamins? Mine are and I am not sure this is normal.

So I am properly joining the bus now anyway.
My stats are:
MissMagpie
age 34
Ttc #2
Cycle 7 or 8 (may have counted wrong so need to check this!)
AF due around 29th January.

Supper16 · 28/12/2016 10:06

Hi everyone. AF arrived yesterday at about 11pm (technically not AF, it's my withdrawl bleed). Would you class yesterday as CD1 or today?

Really early days for me so I'm just going to spend a few months learning about my cycle rather than leaping straight to OPK and temping. I recall from my teenage years that my cycles were regular so fingers crossed they still will be!

BertieBotts · 28/12/2016 10:10

I don't think it overly matters when you count DTD - I would count it as the day before if it was before I/we sleep even when after midnight. The next day if it's morning sex and then you go back to sleep. But it doesn't have to be that accurate.

Sorry AF arrived Magpie.

Bubble I had BFPs in cycle 1 and cycle 4 but sadly miscarried both. Now on cycle 10.

Bubblegum89 · 28/12/2016 10:28

Sorry to hear that Bertie :( fingers crossed that CD10 will be third time lucky for you. I've been pregnant twice, both times very soon after stopping the pill. They were unplanned, I was just lazy with taking my pill to be honest! My DD is 8 now, had to have a termination of my last due to complications. I'm hoping that I get pregnant as easily this time but I've got a feeling that I won't! Especially after I've been so lucky twice before, think I might have used all my luck up. They think I might have scar tissue in my uterus from PID I got a few days after my termination but it's not confirmed yet. If I have though, that's going to make it difficult, even impossible to get pregnant naturally.

Kirsty8333 · 28/12/2016 10:32

Congrats Amy! Lovely to see a positive. Is af due around 3rd Jan for anybody? Just wondering if anybody is going to be testing nyd.

BertieBotts · 28/12/2016 10:44

My DS is 8 too :) I was a bit worried about the big gap but I am looking forward to it now. He's so excited about the idea of a baby brother or sister. He has a different dad and DH has fertility issues running in his family so we were expecting it to take a little longer this time.

Babycarmen · 28/12/2016 11:22

Congrats Amz!

I'm gonna be testing around the 6th. The TWW is literally the longest 2 weeks of my life. I wish I knew what was going on with my body so I could track it better. It's all messed up since coming off the implant. Hmm

Itsjustaphase84 · 28/12/2016 11:22

Bubblegum, I was told that the cervix has a kind of 'defensive trait' when it's messed around with too much. My doctor told me this and that's why I started shaking and feeling like I was about to pass out after they tried to insert my coil 3 times. Nausea probably relates to that.

Wingingit88 · 28/12/2016 11:32

I'm not sure when to test to be honest! I have long cycles so maybe at the 5 week mark if I make it that far! So maybe the 9th?! like I'll hold out that long!

ns1348 · 28/12/2016 11:35

Kirsty I'm planning to test NYD if AF hasn't yet put in an appearance (due between 31st and 2nd I think, but only second cycle since coil removal so not very sure as last one was quite weird), but that'll be 11dpo so think I'll give it a go.

Bubblegum I have/have had endometriosis, so similarly uncertain about how it'll go for me. Had surgery twice and it was only mild, you just don't know how it'll go with these things until you try I guess.

ns1348 · 28/12/2016 11:38

Also bubblegum, I'm sorry to hear about your loss Flowers

MissyJones83 · 28/12/2016 11:56

I'm now not sure whether to test NYE or not just read guide and it says use the longest cycle in recent times as a guide as to when to test. Last month I was 24 and the month before that 29 and the month before that only 20 - all due I am guessing to settling down after pill. Consequently if I use longest cycle as a guide it means I shouldn't really test until next Tuesday arghhh more waiting.
I do have a test you can use up to 5 days early so could technically test NYE however I know they are not as accurate the earlier you do then.
Hmmmm
might still join you kracken but not decided

Kirsty8333 · 28/12/2016 11:59

Hi ns1348 Yeah I'm a little uncertain exactly when af due as I had cycles that were 23 and 27 days and then after the miscarriage it was 32 days. I should also be 11dpo that day and I'm so impatient so will prob give in and test.

Jellybabie3 · 28/12/2016 12:04

Congrats amz 😀
Supper i think that makes it cd1 for you 😊

I am officially in my fertile week 😬 and woke up feeling dull ache down there so reckon i am gearing up to ovulate in next few days. Good job me and OH have couple of days to ourselves before family arrive for new year!! Negative opk though Confused

hmyh23 · 28/12/2016 12:28

Hi all! I'm CD12 today, aiming to DTD every other day (done CD8 and CD10 already) and then 3/4 days in a row during fertile week, a couple more for luck after that! Once you start all this it makes you wonder how the hell anybody gets knocked by accident doesn't it?!?! Hoping for success this month as my husband works away regularly which makes life difficult, we are both off this week so probably the best chance we will have in a while. This is my 4th cycle off the pill but only the 2nd cycle of 'proper trying'.

hmyh23 · 28/12/2016 12:29

I'm trying to avoid OPKs this month as I don't want to add extra pressure to the situation but I caved this morning and it was negative. If we aren't successful this month I'm going to invest in the Clear Blue smiley ones as they just seem easier to follow than trying to guess the lines on the cheapies.

SamiZayn · 28/12/2016 12:33

Congratulations Amz always lovely to see a bfp on here.

The TTC madness has started here already. I had my coil removed 5-7 days after ovulation (at a guess) but no sign of af yet so I'm starting to hope for a lucky bfp even though it's incredibly unlikely and even though we're not officially trying until January. I need to get a hobby or something pronto to distract myself when DD is in bed otherwise I'm going to be obsessed aaarrrggghh

Amz26 · 28/12/2016 13:05

Thanks lovely ladies 😘 I'm going to stay around so I can see some more BFP in January xxx

Bubblegum89 · 28/12/2016 13:27

Bertie, I'm so concerned about the age gap too! I'm worried it's going to take me years to conceive again and my DD will be in high school. I've always wanted a closer gap between my children but I guess that ship has sailed. My DD has a different dad also. Fingers crossed for you :)

Thank you ns, sorry to hear about your endometriosis. I know in the back of my mind that I might end up needing help to get pregnant. It's possible to get pregnant with scar tissue but depending on its severity and where it is, it's common to miscarry due to an embryo being unable to properly implant. There's surgery I can have to cut out the scar tissue so I'll have to wait and see. Lots of luck to you Flowers

I've just tested again about 20 minutes ago with an OPK and it's negative, I can barely even see a test line. Does that mean that I most likely ovulated yesterday? I got positives 2 days on the run and also cramps and ovary pain and today the cramps have gone. These are my last 3 tests...
