January bus anyone?

Thought I'd start the January bus, anyone else hoping for their BFP to welcome in the new year?
My stats are -
Age 23
TTC #2
CD 10
Cycle -- hard to put a number on, been trying a year but have had two losses, 5w and 12w so not sure where to count from.

Thanks bertie. Its tough thinking you have to dtd on given days....especially at this time of year when you may have visitors/family staying....i will make an effort to dtd up to new years eve when it looks like all fingers (apps) point to me ovulating (which is also the day i have family here!!) hopefully if thats the case we will have a bank of swimmers ready to go. Im due AF day after OHs bday in January and we are away for the weekend....

So I gave in today and did a hcg test :( it was a bfn 😁 I knew it would be as I'm not even sure when I ovulated, so it was wishful thinking that anything would show! I have got some symptoms but as I haven't had AF for a long time I'm not sure if it's just the sign of that :( I'm feeling really run down ATM and it's not even like I'm doing anything as I'm off work until the 3rd!! So I'm really unsure what's going on.

Think I'm going to test again on Nye if AF hasn't shown up by then. Is anyone else testing the same day as me? I'm going to buy a first response one tho as I've only got the Internet cheapies!!!!

Cracked and did a test. I have officially gone insane as AF isn't due for another 6 days (ish). Obviously BFN.

That's it, no more testing until NYE at the very earliest! I will staple my hands to my sides if necessary. Amz, we will be NYE test buddies!

So I've been sleeping all day and been really sick so I took another test and me and my oh are sure we can see a line!

He's is very chilled about this so I know he would tell me if I was seeing things! The pictures are very hard to make out!! What do you thing? X

Waiting is driving me crazy and I promised it wouldn't! Arghh! Convinced I ovulate too late for anything to happen but we dtd LOADS I just worry if I ovulated so late it will not implant

I can see it! My line was fainter than that on ic with ds2. I took a frer later that day and got a good line.

We've arrived at Inlaws house now and kids are in a different room so managed to sneak up stairs to 'unpack' and managed to DTD :)

I am still kind of on the December bus but there's not many people left on that so forgive me for double posting!!

I am CD33 today and 14 dpo. Have not tested and am now abroad without a test with me!

I have had cramps that I thought were AF coming on and off since Christmas Eve bit still nothing. My boobs weigh a ton and I am absolutely knackered. All could be symptoms of a number of things!

As I have irregular length cycles, if I don't get AF by New Year's Eve I might go and get a test. I am so terrified of getting a BFN that I prefer the uncertainty and hope of not knowing!

(My stats are: Age 34; ttc #2; cycle 6).

Me too MissMagpie I have already bought a test (never done one before). Had cramps on Boxing Day and sore boobs, bit nauseous last week BUT now not sure if I have just ovulated late perhaps! Going to test on NYE that would be first expected day of af of course if af joins me for NYE that will answer my question!

Bertie still trying to figure this out v new to all of this. I am tracking things on an app but have never used opk (think that's what it's called) or anything.
Before I was on pill I always had those mid pains and always put them down to ovulation cramps as they happened about 14 days in each month leaving 14 days from ov to period however this cycle I feel like I had those pains only yesterday which is like 20 days in and my cycle is predicted as 24 days. Settling down from coming off pill so it could be 28 days...ovulation at 20 days either way is still really late though.
Having said that I did have some mild twingy cramps down there about day 15 which I was sure was ov pain then...just bit confused now.
We've only been trying for, well this will be our third cycle, so early days I guess.
Would love to test in the morning but know it's best to wait till first day of missed period at least...so tempting though!!!

Silly question but how do you check your CM when you're DTD? I know you're supposed to check your CM to try and determine when you're ovulating but because I'm in my fertile window at the minute so obviously DTD a fair bit but obviously that messes with my CM because of the other, erm, liquids lol I just end up having thin, watery, sometimes stretchy discharge but it's not really true CM if it's mixed in with other stuff is it??

Just sitting twiddling my thumbs until FW begins - first full month using OPKS and BBT combined, hoping for a non long/weird cycle this time

Bertiebotts, we're very similar. I'm on cd7 and my cycle is 28-31. I also get a lot of ewcm not long after period or sometimes at end of it. I can have it for 7-10 days but no idea when I ov so just bought cheapie.

Missy I wouldn't worry, sounds like your cramps at day 20 were something else entirely... possibly implantation even? I don't think most people have any symptoms for ovulation at all although of course some do... what I do know after 9 months of this is that you can really overthink every twinge and sometimes a twinge is just a twinge - can be a muscle thing or just an unrelated cramp or even something to do with digestion.

If you had ovulated late you'd have a late period, late ovulation doesn't shorten your luteal phase.

Bubble if it's stretchy it's EWCM. It doesn't matter if it's mixed. Semen is more sticky than stretchy. Also, it's TMI, but it smells different... Plus, if you're DTD anyway you probably don't need to worry about whether you're fertile or not it's when you see the fertile mucous and don't have plans to DTD you should worry!

Anyway, I came on to say, I've been trying to write more interesting posts for my blog about parenting/TTC/possibly pregnancy (hopefully!) too recently and this one might be useful to some on here, it's about factors which affect when you'll get a positive on a test. No pressure to look but if you're interested :)

Haha thanks Bertie. Tried not to be too TMI there but it's a bit difficult I haven't seemed to have any EWCM at all really. More just watery type CM but then when the semen is mixed in, it's become sticky. I'm still in my fertile window today but my OH works nights and he's back in after the Christmas period, hoping the last few nights was enough!

Also, another random one but I've been feeling for my cervix and I've found it a few times. Tonight it's fairly high (I'm almost up to my knuckle but not quite haha) and feels fairly soft but not open that I could tell. But whenever I've felt it, even though I'm really gentle, it gives me a bit of a weird sicky feeling for about 20 minutes after. Is that normal?

I have no idea, sorry. I have never done cervix checking myself because I find temping and mucous is enough for me.

Bubblegum89- Its really hard to check CM in FW as like you said there is other stuff in there lol.. I still did check and it was a little lumpy and white 😁 But after my FW it went watery.

Tinkerbell- we've only been trying for a month! I haven't even had a withdrawal bleed from coming off the pill.. Didn't really think it would happen this quick.. I'm in so much shock.. I wasn't even really sure when I ovulated 🙈 Sorry that your AF has shown up.. Hoping next month is your turnxxx
