Thread 22. TTC #1 - The one where the BFPs rolled in & long may it continue

Calling all Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers, IUI-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Flowers mouse

Kathrino · 01/01/2017 19:49

Oh mouse, what a crappy situation. I'm so sorry things didn't go the way you hoped today Flowers

Kwick, happy POAS-ing!

Miranda234 · 01/01/2017 19:51

Is anyone else on here vegetarian? I'm worried I might not be getting the right nutrition and just wondered if anyone had any advice? Smile

Pugmummy87 · 01/01/2017 19:54

Alexia I have nothing to add to what everyone else has said, but just wanted you to know you aren't alone and we are all here for you. CakeFlowers

Congratulations ns what a wonderful start to 2017.

Boobs feel really sore today. Trying not to think too much into it as you just can't trust them! Off to London tomorrow with DH for my 30th birthday, hopefully will take my mind off thinking about it.

FXSkip · 01/01/2017 20:12

Me miranda and if I'm ever in doubt I use MyFitnessPal to calculate the macro nutrient breakdown of a meal. My top tip is organic quinoa - it's got heaps of good vitamins and protein so you don't need meat. If you feel like you need to, you could try a local organic farm for meat (depending on your reasons for being veggy. Mine are ethics based, and I find small organic farms more palatable in terms of humane treatment)

kwick · 01/01/2017 20:58

Oh mouse what a fcuker! How awful!! Flowers please just focus on your BFP - easier times will come.

miranda I am not vegetarian however despite my great, great, great grandfather (or something like that) inventing the sausage making machine the rest of his family were staunch vegetarians!!! My advice would be eat lots of fertility boosting pulses - like lentils, plenty of eggs and cheese and milk and yoghurt. And then of course lots of green stuff and carbs. You may also consider taking vitamin B complex. Not sure if you could take omega 3 supplements?

pug enjoy Londinium tomorrow 🎡

ns1348 · 01/01/2017 22:26

Mouse, I'm so sorry for how things worked out for you this evening Sad

Pug fx for you

Miranda I am vegan. I take a vegan supplement anyway Veg1 from Vegan Society, and doc put me on pregaday back when decided would start ttc, and I take flaxseed oil on top of milled flaxseed for omega oils (would have considered fish oil if we'd taken longer to conceive though, as it's much easier to get the good stuff from, from what I read). I have also been using chlorella powder (v expensive) in smoothies as it's only proven vegan (and possibly veggie!) natural source for B12. They say seaweeds generally are, but I did research and that's only proven one. Have also been eating extra nuts and seeds. And focused on wholemeal/brown/complex cards. And almost exclusively organic fruit and veg. Not sure how much of this helped us to conceive! Got most of these tips from Marilyn Gelnville's 'getting pregnant faster', which makes lots of other recommendations we followed with varying degrees of success. I recommend it for dietary stuff alone though, tbh. Hope that helps!

ns1348 · 01/01/2017 22:28

Carbs even, as opposed to cards!

Pugmummy87 · 01/01/2017 22:54

Oh God jam I feel awful, I must have missed a page and not seen the news about your Grandma. So sorry. I'm glad you got to spend the last few days with her, she does indeed sound like a special lady.
Thinking of you.

Londonjam · 02/01/2017 01:02

Aww pug thanks for your thoughts lovely and everyone else. It's been a strange sad day and I still don't feel like it's sunk in that she's really gone.

EJ2009 · 02/01/2017 10:20

Does anyone use Maca powder? I use a lot of seeds etc in my meals & DH is on board with most of it. I can proudly say i have snuck chia seeds into his porridge and sunflower & flax onto his salads but i can't sneak Maca powder in as he can taste it. He won't take capsules & doesn't do smoothies, although there may be some budge on that. I use its its great for tiredness but the fertility research on it looks good too for spermies and libido. Any recipes or tips?

geeup · 02/01/2017 10:38

Would love tips too ej. I bought the powder and it tastes revolting and seems fairly insoluable so hard to disguise! Hoping to get it into the OH but has sat untouched since we first tried it!

AFireInside · 02/01/2017 10:48

Morning everyone, Ive got myself into a bit of a worry this morning. I'm on CD 20 and Ive had brown/red blood when I wipe. Ive been off the pill since Oct 27 and had a 28 & 28 day cycle. Could this be AF or could it be implantation spotting?
I will go out and test asap but I'm not due AF until 10th Jan so would this be a stupid idea?

HepKestrel · 02/01/2017 11:09

AFire possible is likely to be unreliable this early. Assuming you ovulated cd14, it is possible this is IB. I am afraid you will have to wait. Feel free to possible, but if you get a bfn, you will just have to wait 3 days and test again to be sure.

HepKestrel · 02/01/2017 11:11

Also to add that as you have just come off the pill, you could be irregular for 6 months

So my advice is to breath :) you may have a wait before answers

HepKestrel · 02/01/2017 11:12

Poas not possible .

Sassy80 · 02/01/2017 11:21

First time I've posted, just joined!

Age 36
Cycle 6
AF arrive on Friday :(

I have one child already age (11) and now trying for my second. I think I might have had a very early MC at on my last cycle. My cycles are pretty much always on time minus 1 or 2 days. However last month I started getting cramping a few days after I ovulated and AF arrived 1whole week early and the flow was much heavier than I have ever experienced....will never know for sure as i never tested! Onwards and upwards, hopefully 2017 will be the year for us.

Hope everyone else had a great new year and look forward to the ups and downs with you guys (hopefully more ups!)

AFireInside · 02/01/2017 11:25

Thanks Kestrel. I think it was just a bit of a shock! It has stopped now. I think the best thing to do is just relax and see what happens.
Has this happened to anyone else or am I just being a panicky twat for no reason?!

Peaches8Posies · 02/01/2017 12:05

Apologies it's a quick 'post and run' til I can proper catch up but really didn't want to go without letting jam know you are in my thoughts lovely lady FlowersFlowers I'm glad you got to spend time with your gran before she past. I hope you are taking care of yourself it will be anice unsettling and painful time for you and your family. I hope you are getting plenty of hugs in RL but I'm sending you some here as well xxx

Congratulations ns

inspector that all sounds very positive. Hope it means you can move forward more relaxed and get that illusive bfp asap Smile

AlexiaB · 02/01/2017 12:10

Enjoy your trip Binky. Hope the witch stays away!

Thanks Pug Flowers Hope you have a wonderful time celebrating your birthday in London. I have a good feeling about you this cycle! Fx fx

kwick that's lovely! And Mouse I'm so sorry that happened but please focus on your BFP because that's the most amazing thing! How did your digis go? You too, NS?

Jam thinking of you Flowers

AFire I can't add much more than Hep did other than even if it is implantation bleeding, the earliest you'd see a positive would be tomorrow morning. Implantation bleeding happens to 1/3 of women so it could be that but it could also be your body messing you around. I've been fooled before. Do you know when you ovulated, how many dpo are you? Do you temp? That could give us some more info. I would just wait it out for a few more days and see what happens. Rough sex can also cause spotting and checking/irritating your cervix, can you rule those out?

Hi sassy we are a TTC #1 thread but I guess it's been a while since you conceived your first? That's unusual for AF to arrive one week early? Hope 2017 is your year!

Well the digi went well. Still don't feel pregnant at all. I'm '5 weeks' today and actually have no idea what to do next haha. I suppose I'm getting like little niggles in my lower tummy but I probably wouldn't normally notice them.

Alexia I think your chart looks pretty awesome!! 😊

WingingIt83 · 02/01/2017 12:47

Having read up on it might get myself some of this maca stuff! There are a lot of suggestions on Google ej

Miranda234 · 02/01/2017 12:51

Thanks for the advice everyone, I will look into all those suggestions Smile

Afire I thought I had implantation bleeding on my third cycle off bc around day 23 but it turned out to be really light AF, I hope it's not that for you though fx

Congrats again mouse

Kathrino · 02/01/2017 12:56

Doisy & Dam do a vegan maca, vanilla and cacao nib chocolate bar if that's the kind of suggestion you're looking for EJ? ;)

Fire, could be implantation depending on when you ovulated. I think it would probably be too early to test now though, you'd need to give it a few days to be able to register any result. As Alexia says, you could have just irritated something. I some times get a bit of random bleeding after sex, particularly in certain positions (probably TMI...)

Hope you're having a great day pug, is it your birthday today? If so, happy birthday!

Nice digi mouse! Must be awesome to see those words.

We're having a day of tidying up / sorting out our flat. Really don't want to go back to work tomorrow. It's been so nice being off for the last couple of weeks.

AlexiaB · 02/01/2017 14:11

Yay Mouse love that!!! Star

I think my chart is looking average. Really need a nice temp rise tomorrow or I know af will probably be here soon (9dpo).

Kathrino I feel you!
