Thread 22. TTC #1 - The one where the BFPs rolled in & long may it continue

Calling all Clomid-ers, Femara-ers, OPK-ers, temp-ers, IUI-ers and anyone else on the TTC Bus.

We are long past cervix prodding (in fact we know where it is at any given time just by closing our eyes) and we have ditched the Gregorian calendar in favour of the TTC Cycle Day calendar. We don't do baby dust, or baby-dancing, we just keep legs spread and fingers crossed (LSFX). We love a baby bomb from a prior bus-mate, but if we get told to 'just relax and enjoy it' ONE MORE TIME you will get a punch in the face. You get kwick-cake if you behave, and talked down from the ledge when you need it.

Hop on board, post your stats and prepare to be dazzled by the wealth of TTC knowledge we long-timeys have to share....

Aww alexia this has definitely been a year for mum comments, mine anyway. When I told her I was pregnant she asked why I left it until i was old and in poor health! (I was 36 and I spent most of 2015 really ill and in out if hospital). I wanted to start trying in 2015 but my health took a turn, it took a while to diagnose and sort out, so 2016 was supposed to be my turning point. Never intended to wait until i was old and up against it. Then when I told a supposedly close friend about my mc she said well if you want a baby you better cracking on your no spring chicken. people are really cruel sometimes. X

Anyway, happy new year when it comes everyone. May your beans be sticky and your bfp's be right around the corner. 🍸🍷🍻🍀🍀

alexia so sorry you're having such a shitty time. I've been there too. I also think that having a baby would be a great way to meet friends and feel more apart of the community since moving to this country (I'm American). It seems like everyone here already has their real friends and I end up being the friend they get together with for coffee every few weeks/months. Which is nice but I really miss having close friends. And with no family here and a husband who works long, unsociable hours it can get really lonely.

It's so hard when people say stupid comments. i have been offended by pretty. I have every person I've talked to about ttc unless they had trouble ttc too.

Alexia. Your mother is missing out. You are a wonderful woman who not only supports us all here but encourages, reassures and educates us. I feel like everyone will walk their own path and I truly think 2017 will be the year you find your path. You can do this with positivity and a belief that it will happen. It might not be this cycle or the next but it will happen. I want to hug the shit out of you right now.

All I'll say is, I'm glad I don't drink and everyone knows I don't drink. I've been repeating my "yes the scan was fine" face all night. My mum is acting suspicious. I'm probably a shit liar.

ns I'm on CD25 at the moment. My last cycle was 24 and before that was 29 so AF could come at any point between now and Wed or maybe longer who knows!

binky I've been crampy on and off since Boxing Day at its worst on Boxing Day so wondered if I had ovulated late or something

Alexia what a bugger. Not nice to be arguing with your mum!!! I do agree that calling "time" is a good thing - at least it is clear to her that there is an issue.
BTW I did this once with my mum when she told me that men would not love me due to my weight - I had no contact with her for weeks.

binky fx that cramps = womble making room for sticky bean. I too had very painful cramping - which I had on sofa whilst watching Christmas TV and scarred the crap out of me - nearly as bad as hycosy but did not last that long.

Just did another strip test with an extremely faint line... will have to break out another FRER - my last!!! Need to stock up again!!!

Gonna have a cuppa (decaff) and then try and sleep again - so not used to a late night - feel like I have a mild hangover (but I swear all I drank was 0% beer!!).

Binky sorry to hear about your awful cramping - I've known similar with endometriosis at times. I'd look into it further if you get any recurrence.

So I woke up to this, and though in ways I feel pregnant DH and I are still hugely in disbelief. Will test again later/tomorrow, but hoping and praying it's a sticky one! We have our BFP!

Still in disbelief! DH tried to encourage me to sleep more but don't think that was likely for me after our 8am surprise. Will just try and rest up today and go to bed early tonight to try and kick cough and cold.

Yes Alexia and FX only cycle 2, hence disbelief, what with endo, other health complications and DH's anxieties about fertility didn't expect it nearly so soon!

Do you all think I should line-check with more FRERs for a few more days before Digital?

I think with a FRER line like that the digi would be positive NS but I'd probably wait until tomorrow morning.
