Yes carlotta - I tested twice with IC yesterday and both were completely blank.

minime2016 · 10/12/2016 17:12

Brilliant Writer! Many congratulations- so pleased for you. This thread is on a roll with positives now! My 2ww obsessiveness has begun Xmas GrinI'm either on ovulation day or 1dpo and having weird stabby top of boobs pain Hmm that's an interesting new one for me.

StephyJane · 10/12/2016 17:16

Huge congratulations writer!

Lovechild2016 · 10/12/2016 17:52

Does anyone get AF like cramps with ovulation? I'm only cd 9 but got EWCM and pelvic cramps...

JeNeBaguetteRien · 10/12/2016 18:37

Congratulations Writer! I was trying to think of an encouraging response to your post saying you were going to leave the boards, I scrolled down and lovely BFP! Fabulous news!

Bows85 · 10/12/2016 18:57

Congrats writer! That's awesome news - so pleased for you Smile
You said that there were things that happened in the last week that made you think you might have been pregnant...what were they? (Obviously so I can convince myself the same has happened to me Wink)

Writerwannabe83 · 10/12/2016 19:09

The symptoms only started about 5 days ago and it was initially that i had 48 hours of a constant dull ache in my abdominal area, it wasn't painful but it was there all the time.

Then 3 days ago (I think) I felt exhausted to the point I actually fell asleep three times on the sofa between waking up and my lunch. I then went for a nap after my lunch and slept solidly for 2.5 hours. Around this time I also started getting palpitations numerous times a day and yesterday I seemed to be aware that I was having a wee more frequently than I normally would.

Also, since BF'ing my DS for as long as I did my nipples have become completely desensitised, my DH can actually pinch them really hard and I simply don't feel it (he did this purposefully as part of an experiment, lol) but last night whilst DTD his hand caught my nipple and a jolt of pain went through me that actually made me shout out.

So that's it really, my varied range of 5 day symptoms Grin

Carlotta82248 · 10/12/2016 21:32

Tried an Asda cheapy, bfn as are all of my ICs, 11dpo and think I'm out. Have cried most of the day, post nightshift insanity coupled with a built up hope and being absolutely gutted :( I must learn to break this poas addiction, it has done me no favours at all xx

BertieBotts · 10/12/2016 21:40

Writer!! Yay! Congratulations Xmas Grin Flowers

Writerwannabe83 · 10/12/2016 22:06

carlotta - when I was pregnant with DS I didn't get my BFP until the day after my period was due despite having been testing twice a day for about 6 days by that point.

And look at me, this time yesterday I had declared myself out and got off the bus but now I have a BFP.

I know it's so hard to stay positive but please try and hold on to some hope because until your period arrives there is still a chance even if you feel like it's only a slim one Flowers

Carlotta82248 · 10/12/2016 22:47

Thanks Writer, I really do appreciate it, have found the emotional strain quite surprising. It's so hard not to get negative, lovely to see all the bfps as you know how happy people will be and it gives hope, but also makes you wonder if it will ever be you x

FlaminFlamingo99 · 10/12/2016 23:28

Lovechild YES I get really painful ovulation cramps - one night it was so bad I struggled to sleep but it had eased a bit by the morning. I think ov cramps are mittelschitz cramps? It's a thing anyway to get cramps during ov. I don't get it every month and sometimes it is worse than others

Writer clear blue says it all! Congratulations!!

This is such a lucky thread - lots of luck to everyone else testing this month

FlaminFlamingo99 · 10/12/2016 23:32

Carlotta you are right sometimes it is REALLY hard. But Writer is right, you're not out until AF actually arrives. I didn't get BFP until a week after my missed period. If the witch does show her ugly mug then make time for you, do something nice for you. Stay positive Smile

Kskifred · 10/12/2016 23:38

Carlotta there is still a chance. Easier said than done (especially with fatigue as your job sounds demanding too) but try and take 10 minutes out to regroup. Sorry if you already said but when is af actually due? I expect it can take a while for hormones to settle so I agree it's not over yet, i'm not putting much by the ic's to be honest, if i'm still in the game next cycle think i'm getting rid and just going by af late, it is more stressful constantly monitoring. Try and remain positive I think you may just need to give it a few more days x

Carlotta82248 · 10/12/2016 23:59

Thank you so much Flamin and Ksifred, I really do appreciate your kind words. I am lucky enough to be a midwife so demanding/amazingly rewarding.....babies an occupational hazard though Smile

Carlotta82248 · 11/12/2016 00:02

Kskifred totally agree re IC getting rid too! AF due 15th

Kskifred · 11/12/2016 00:37

Gosh your are living and breathing it all the time though as a midwife, that must be tough at times, I think it's very possible that it's too early to get an accurate test result yet, try not to give up hope, i have a good feeling.

Writerwannabe83 · 11/12/2016 05:23

carlotta - I'm a paediatric nurse caring for children aged 0-2 so I know what you mean about it being an Occupational Hazard. Some days I would find it so hard looking after other people's newborns when all I wanted was one of my own. When I had to return to work after my miscarriage earlier this year I really, really struggled.

In order to get to my ward I have to walk through the Trust's Maternity entrance and past the Labour wards etc and I actually feel a physical twinge of pain/envy whenever I see a pregnant lady walking through the unit with her maternity notes Sad

It's so hard being faced with it so full on so you gave my sympathy Flowers

I always wanted to be a midwife from about the age of 12, it was always my goal through Secondary School and College but when I went to the Course's Univetsity Open Day when I was 17 I was told I could never be a midwife because I have epilepsy. It absolutely devastated me. Even now I still feel a bit sad about never being able to have done my dream career. That's why I went into paediatric nursing as I thought it was the next best thing.

I've got work today and I'm wide awake even thought my alarm isn't due to go off for another 45 minutes. Mind you, my DS likes waking up at 5.30am so no doubt I will have him to deal with pretty soon Confused

Jellybabie3 · 11/12/2016 09:06

Morning all, cramping here on cd25....only a matter of time before AF arrives i think Xmas Sad

Writerwannabe83 · 11/12/2016 10:24

Oh no jelly - how long are your cycles normally?

My boobs are veiny today and when I put my uniform on this morning I struggled to do my zip up over them Grin

ttcnovice · 11/12/2016 10:41

Morning everyone.

To those of you with BFPs, did you experience any implantation pain at all? I've been having AF like cramps (AF not due until the 16th) alongside a strange pulling/stretching sensation in my lower abdomen, so tentatively wondering whether it could be implantation? I'm only 7DPO though so would that be too early?

Google seems inconclusive to whether implantation pain exists or not!

Lovechild2016 · 11/12/2016 10:47

Thanks flamin I wasn't sure whether the mittlesmitzen was just a sharp pain or more cramps. Keeping everything crossed that I am actually ovulating this month 3 months post pill. carlotta and writer I also work with pregnant women and they ask me all the time if I have children and it gets harder every month! Keeping fingers crossed for you carlotta and jelly you're not out until she arrives.

writer my boobs have got massive too and I've got lots more bumps on my nipples Blush

ttcnovice I can't really remember big I had any pain around implantation, I don't think I did but it's entirely possible as you can get a bit of spotting too

Carlotta82248 · 11/12/2016 12:08

Writer I think paediatric nursing and midwifery are often a cross over of people, I was swinging strongly that way when applying. I also think by nature it attracts very maternal types, so no wonder we take this ttc hard!

I had the feintest, is it even real squinter on my IC this morning but after all the tears and upset last night am not peeing on anything else today as me and OH have a rare Sunday together to put our tree up and watch Christmas films so just want to enjoy, feel hopeful and horribly like I'm setting up for disappointment all at once.

Massive boobs here already and definitely already rocking the festively plump look so won't be looking for any clues there. I've been emotional and a bit sickly but they're standard nightshift feelings so I'm unconvinced by symptoms xxx
