Cycle 1 (😱)
CD 2

Came off the pill in August after 15 years on it with no break. Had normal withdrawal bleed, then 6 weeks later had a very light AF. Next AF (which is also very light) came 37 days later. I'm hoping my cycle is starting to get back to normal (although it's been so long, I can't remember what normal is!)
DH and I are going to start TTC once this AF is done. Very excited and nervous.
Hope everyone here gets some good news in the coming weeks!

MrsG280516 · 11/11/2016 13:44

Hi Bows there's quite a few of us here on cycle 1 or 2 so quite new to it all. CD4 here and had such a light AF, she's gone now! Just got to wait at least 10 days for ovulation now... going so slowly!

Thank you mouselove x

Bows85 · 11/11/2016 19:41

Thanks for the welcome MrsG! I think I'm in the same boat as you with the light AF. Do you think this is down to coming off the pill? I've read some posts about this happening to women. It just seems so weird after 15 years of clockwork AFs!

Nw85 · 11/11/2016 19:58

I'd really really like a positive pee stick for Xmas. Like really really really really really want.

First cycle I had a chemical pregnancy. Still bleeding on CD 12 I am suppose to be in my fertile week now but I'm not sure now. Think I am going to pick up some Opks tomorrow just to see.

Feeling a bit stressed about it now. The timing was right when we started trying but it has gone on so long now the timing has become rubbish again.

julez12 · 13/11/2016 00:02

what apps/opks etc are people using?
i'm using ovia app & poundland opk started yesterday ( dont know if i'm wasting my time as been on mini pill for over 2 years until 29/10/16.
do any of you track temps etc?

MouseLove · 13/11/2016 00:17

Julez I think using OPK is pointless until you have your first post pill AF personally. You possibly won't ovulate until then.

I temp mainly to track for other health reasons. I'm going to do it this cycle and then probably stop for a few cycles while I get treatment for my thyroid.

I'm planning on using OPK this cycle to see if I'm actually ovulating. Of course it won't definitely confirm but can strongly hint. All a way of getting to know my body post pill.

I got my OPK from a lovely upduffed Mumsnet friend but also got some from eBay. You can get around 30 for £3

StephyJane · 13/11/2016 00:17

I've been using Ovia and Fertility Friend App (and they both actually come up with the same predicted dates). I used Clear Blue OPK's this month as it's our first month TTC and I wanted the smiley face to take away any guessing. Now I have a better grasp of everything I'll use cheaper OPKs from amazon next month (assuming I aren't lucky with a BFP this month!)

julez12 · 13/11/2016 00:25

thank you.
--tmi q - do you use cm as indicators for ovulation? like if cm was egg white consistancy but a cheap opk showed neg with fmu, would you consider it a possibility that an egg could be released? on pill there was no cm inbetween bleeds

StephyJane · 13/11/2016 00:51

I used CM as an indicator but I don't know it well enough to go with without using OPK. I had EWCM when I got my smiley face on Clear Blue OPK and then I had it slightly for 2 days after - but the OPKs were negative.

Tinkerbell2319 · 13/11/2016 08:05

I'm using OPKs I bought in bulk from amazon, the ovia app and check cm sporadically from time to time

minime2016 · 13/11/2016 08:30

Over the past three cycles I've used Ovia, opks and cm as a guide with no success. However, thanks to reading lots of helpful hints and information on here, Im more tuned in. previously I took the predicted ov time shown on Ovia as time to stop opk testing and to stop bd, therefore actually missing ov time. This month I didn't stop testing and had my darkest lines ever yesterday which is the day after Ovia suggested. Fingers crossed our timing is better this month and there'll be a bfp soon. Good luck with tracking and trying everyone Grin

MouseLove · 13/11/2016 12:36

Julez I had two bouts of EWCM during my first cycle. The first was very little. The second was HUGE amounts. I obviously didn't ovulate as I later realised it was my mucus plug that I lost. It can be a sign of ovulation but not a confirmation. X

julez12 · 13/11/2016 12:52

tmi q - the after pill mucous plug, would it be clear?

MrsG280516 · 13/11/2016 13:44

julez I think everyone is different, mine was really jelly like and had a yellow tinge (looked very similar to snot! Ewww)

Tinkerbell2319 · 13/11/2016 18:01

First time properly using OPKs so excuse the ignorance but is it normal to get two lines this early? Am only on CD8 Confused It's not positive until the test line is as dark or darker than the control line though right?

December Bus (all I want for Christmas is... a baby!)
MrsG280516 · 13/11/2016 18:28

Yes Tinkerbell it's normal to get two lines throughout your cycle but that's not quite positive yet. You're right, it has to be as dark as or darker than the control to be positive.

OP posts:
MouseLove · 13/11/2016 22:44

Julez mine was clear and exactly like EWCM but LOADS of it over 2 days. I'm not 100% it was the mucus plug as it lasted so long or if it was just my body having a mini freak out. I got my AF 10 days later.

Tink that looks good!! Whenever I've done OPK there's been no second line lol

I'm going to start OPK tomorrow. Don't really fancy doing it in work though so I'm a bit stuck as to when to test. It would be around 8/9pm at the earliest if I can't use FMU. HmmSad
