Rose I knit loads! It is definitely one for keeping busy and also helps stress levels. It does mean I am often knitting baby things for friends, just finished a blanket and a toy elephant, but it does calm me. I go to Stitch and Bitch every Thursday at my local knitting shop too 😄

Heatherbaby - here's the link: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07wshm4

I thought it was a good programme!

Ah Rose - I used to be a big smoker, so I know how you feel! I started when I was 12, gave up properly when met DH four years ago and went on to electric cigarettes (which I loved). Have now given those up, but I do go back to them on occasion when I'm drinking!

RoseGoldHippie · 16/10/2016 23:07

Monkey - that is so freaking cute! Right off to Hobby Craft at lunch tomorrow for supplies hehehe Smile what is stitch and bitch? Sounds like my kind of gig :)

Pyjamas - it sucks eh? I've been thinking about and ecig for when I properly crack. Well done for stopping!! Four years is amazing! Grin

Eva30 · 17/10/2016 08:35

monkey stitch and bitch haha love it! Love the knitting hobby.

Welcome wildone - what kind of tears? Tears of relief? What tests will they do first? Hoping you find some answers and help if needed from your GP nowSmile

florafoxtrot · 17/10/2016 08:56

Welcome wildone - hope you're OK.

Definitely need to watch that programme I think. It sounds pretty hopeful.

Managed to remember to take my temperature this morning! I also dreamed about it for most of the night it seems! Would just be good to know that I am ovulating - I've not got any real evidence to suggest that I wouldn't be but you never know I guess.

Also managed to get up and hit the gym before work this morning - very proud of myself - but was very much needed after a lot of sitting about wallowing and sulking! Fingers crossed I can keep it up!

Monkeyandthebear · 17/10/2016 08:56

Rose tips to start knitting, don't knit a scarf as it will bore you to tears. Use YouTube to learn. Look at the band on the wool and it will tell you what size of needles you need. Stitch and Bitch is also Knit and Natter, a bunch of people, mainly women who sit and chat while they knit.

I am on Knicker Watch today!!! Can't decide if it is my imagination or I am starting to spot. I wear white trousers at work so will be at the toilet every half hour until AF arrives.

bassetmum · 17/10/2016 09:11

Rose I knit and crochet. Its great even if everyone thinks I am a granny because of it. Knitting creates some wonderful things but crochet I find is better if you want a quick reward for a small effort. Crochet builds up so much quicker. I echo what Monkey says youtube is a fantastic resource for learning to do either technique. I'm currently making a call the midwife crochet blanket for a friend who is due at Christmas.

Fx for you monkey. White trousers are a bad idea, who picks that for uniform. I'm lucky I can wear jeans.

Hi wildone. Hope you get some answers from the gp.

I think I am now in the tww again, lets see how crazy I get this month haha

monkey white trousers what a nightmare!!Shock

Yeah I watched the Fertility & Me programme, it was a good watch but nothing we don't already know I think. But it's reassuring to know that there are lots of other people in the same boat.

flora at my visit to unhelpful GP she said I wouldn't be having regular periods if I wasn't ovulating. I didn't think that was the case but I gave up trying to get anywhere with her.

florafoxtrot · 17/10/2016 09:57

Thanks Eva. That is reassuring. My periods are slightly irregular - ranging from about 26 days to 31 - but suppose that would still be counted as regular? Just need to get to dtd - only thing for it and it'll happen in time. Positive mental attitude for a Monday eh?!

wildone81 · 17/10/2016 10:18

sad tears I think, that we've got to the stage where we might need help...although, as my lovely husband keeps reminding me, there might not be anything wrong, it might just be taking a while and could happen this month....

blood tests for me to check hormone levels, and then another on day 21 of my cycle to see if I've ovulated and sample tests for husband.

Thinking positive though, might still happen this month.................

Pyjamas81 · 17/10/2016 10:19

I would love to learn to knit and crochet! Although I have a wool allergy which could limit my options somewhat...

florafoxtrot · 17/10/2016 10:51

Hoping it happens for you this month wildone - but remember that if not then its good to get the help kicked off - and it'll likely start with taking clomid or something which would hopefully make all the difference and you won't need anything more than that. I've got my fx for you anyway!
Not sure I'd be too great at knitting - I still need my Mum to sew on buttons/fix hems for me!

wildone81 · 17/10/2016 10:54

thanks all. Periods have been regular 28/29 days sine coming off the pill last October so we've got everything crossed that it is just taking a bit longer than average....

wildone81 · 17/10/2016 10:55

well not everything crossed...........Wink

bassetmum · 17/10/2016 11:47

Pjs I don't use wool. I use acrylic, less faff just as soft nowadays. Its a shame we couldn't have a knit and natter beginners group on here but not sure it would be a success.

It definitely isn't as hard as you think. Although I cannot embroider to save my life lol.

First tww symptom - im crazy gassy today. Im hoping it was the dominos last night haha.

OP posts:
florafoxtrot · 17/10/2016 13:16

Is there not a TTC thread that also has a knitting/crochet element? Not trying to get rid of you though Basset!
Hoping the gas is pregnancy rather than pizza! (I love alliteration)

Pyjamas81 · 17/10/2016 13:30

Ah yes - acrylic - I might get on YouTube! Seems like something I can do while watching telly Smile

I also had gas basset - but think it was definitely the curry hahaha. And, I've noticed gas and feeling bloated are common luteal phase symptoms for me, so am refusing to read into it!

MouseLove · 17/10/2016 14:19

Lots of knitting talk!! Lol. I'm a sewer so I understand haha.

Still no AF over here, just getting on with it now. Hmm

Blissfulignorance · 17/10/2016 20:13

Love a bit of crochet over here, anything from baby booties to stuffed monkeys and king size throws.

Dull ache today, short temper but that may be due to noisy neighbours and lack of sleep.

Pyjamas81 · 17/10/2016 20:51

I have totally just ordered some crochet needles and acrylic wool hahaha - told DH and he have me the Hmm look! I might get back into drawing as well.

6dpo today and no symptoms - I really want to go out this week, but I must resist!

Have you decided when to test mouse?

wildone81 · 17/10/2016 21:09

I'm doing a crochet Christmas this year..... did think it would save some £, but I didn't realise how much lovely wool was out there to be bought and stashed for projects...

MouseLove · 17/10/2016 21:50

Yes Pyjamas Ive decided if still no AF by Saturday ill test then. I don't think ill make it that long personally, but you never know. I have 1 of 3 outcomes really.

AF shows up before Saturday
I get a BFP and cry like a baby
I get a BFN and cry like a baby and wonder wtf is going on

Of course, my cycle length is probably totally normal for post pill action, and I know this, but Im still worrying about my fertility.

Pyjamas81 · 17/10/2016 22:18

First cycle after pill can be infuriatingly confusing - mine was 34 days long and I thought I was going to lose my mind. They're still varying - had a 21 day one, a 29 day one, 23 day one this one looks set to be a 26 day cycle given I ovulated early. Very annoying, but on the upside my luteal phase is always 14 days! Hope it evens out for you soon.

RoseGoldHippie · 18/10/2016 00:51

Thank you for the tips guys!!!

Mouse - keep hold posted!!! FX for a BFP! The pill is soooo irritating it took about 4 months for my cycle to get back to normal (ish) hang on in there! Xxx

MouseLove · 18/10/2016 11:27

So I went to the docs this morning with regards to my back and hips. Turns out it's my pelvis they are worried about so I'm having a full blood work up on Thursday. They are testing for arthritis. But it should maybe answer a few more questions as they are testing for loads of other functions including my thyroid.

He asked about my periods & I mentioned I'm waiting for one. He said 33 days is completely normal so that settled me. I really think that's what I'm waiting for now. No tummy ache today so might just be a long cycle. Totally normal for coming off the pill.
