Yeah they can Tata but I can't get out of work. This week is really important. They didn't seem urgent so I'm guessing it's nothing life threatening. Lol. I'm guessing arthritis or thyroid.

MrsG280516 · 24/10/2016 14:22

FX its nothing troubling Mouse I'm sure they would have asked you to come in earlier if it was.

I've been having AF like aches for since Saturday, coming and going though and not actually painful. I'm hoping its a good sign of ovulation!

pebble82 · 24/10/2016 14:26

Sorry I don't check back very often so not up to speed on everyone.

Thought I'd re-post the list and add myself but then saw someone already did it - so thank you :).

Not had any bleeding since coming off the pill mid September. But this weekend I had lots of EWCM so DTD just in case (only once unfortunately due to non cooperative toddler). I'm counting that as me vaguely being in the 2WW. Would like to wait until late November before testing (assuming AF doesn't get me first) but in reality I bet I cave and test on the 6th November!)

tatatetelle · 24/10/2016 14:27

Ah gotcha Mouse, well good luck for this week!!

MouseLove · 24/10/2016 14:30

Pebble. Your timeline sounds similar to mine. I'm CD39 today off the pill. No bleeds as yet. I had similar experience as you this weekend too.

SummerHopin · 24/10/2016 14:31

Hi ladies just reading up on the last few days.

Mouse hope that its nothing too serious. fx for you.

tata your story is really fascinating to me, as I think I may be similar. No PCOS diagnosis yet, but have been told by GP that I need to have the cycle bloods taken next round......only problem is - my AF is nowhere to be seen!

Im now CD54 and totally fed up :( After coming off pill in March I have had what I thought were cycles i.e. periods, but they got longer and longer (last 2 were 44 and 47 days) and so now I'm wondering if things have just.....well stopped!

I called the GP again and she wasnt helpful, just said that I had to wait until day 2-5 of the next cycle. That sadly gave me a complete meltdown panicking that if something is wrong and my AF doesnt come back, I'll never get tested because I'm waiting for something that wont come! I was so upset, I just dont know what to do.

Does anyone know if you can ovulate to a point and then stop? I havent done any temp tracking before but cant really start now as I dont know if I (1) am not ovulating (2) havent done yet or (3) have done and missed it!

Help! x

tatatetelle · 24/10/2016 14:36

Pebble I'm testing on 6/11 too, and don't want to cave before, let's help each other out Smile. I'm actually not going to buy any poas tests before Friday 5/11 so I can test first thing on the 6th. Or that's my plan anyways..

pebble82 · 24/10/2016 14:43

It's a deal Tata . DH is away that weekend - hope I'll have some good news to tell him when he gets home (really shouldn't get my hopes up this early!)

MrsG280516 · 24/10/2016 14:53

I'm not due to test until 8/11 but we're at a party on 5/11 where there'll be a lot of alcohol, I think I might test on the morning of the 5th just in case. Probably won't be a positive even if I am pg though.

tatatetelle · 24/10/2016 15:03

Deal Pebble and Mrs!!

Summer honey I'm sorry your GP isn't being helpful - it's the worst when you feel your Dr isn't doing all they can, I completely sympathise. But please don't discourage, if it's pcos, it's a drag but really easily treated xx

More generally I've gone for months without bleeding because of pcos and it's a 'normal' symptom so don't panic. Basically your body might not manage to ovulate on a regular basis on it's own. It doesn't mean you don't or won't ovulate, it just means it's not naturally as regular, or often.

I was VERY pushy with my GP because I knew I wanted a referral to the ACU asap so I basically made her prescribe us all the different things they need to build a referral request:

  • a scan
  • A sperm test for DH
  • 21 days blood for me - even though you don't bleed, at least it's ticked for the file
  • a cervical screening if you don't have a recent one

Once I was in the system it went pretty quickly - 5/6 weeks to get the appointment (I understand that's average in Central London) and they started me on progesterone straight away to get my period started, and then Clomid. But depending on your age they don't really want to send you to the ACU, women closer to their 40s have priority, that might be why your GP is asking you to wait until AF comes naturally. Push back if you don't want to wait, or ask to see another GP in your practice? I would, but I'm a bully when it comes to this Blush

Purpleviola14 · 24/10/2016 19:10

Oohs tata how did oh sperm test go?

tatatetelle · 24/10/2016 21:21

We did it a few months ago now purple, it was part of the referral process more than us having concern really but his result came back very good Smile

Purpleviola14 · 24/10/2016 21:35

Aw that's good. We are just going through referral process now. OH has to do another one.
Which stage are you up to now? X

tatatetelle · 24/10/2016 22:02

I didn't realise you were purple! I just finished my first round of Clomid, starting the tww. Happy to help as much as I can if you have any question about the referral!

Purpleviola14 · 24/10/2016 22:18

Bless you tata, it's a bit of a mine field isn't it. Oh SA came back borderline, so he has to do another sample, so if that's the same I don't really know what they'll do from there, possibly IUI? But all my bloods came back normal and I have regular 32 day cycles now. How long was the process for you? I have a feeling this is going to be months of waiting for appointments x

MouseLove · 25/10/2016 08:23

CD40 today for me. No sign of anything. EWCM in abundance the last 3 days. Confused keeping surprisingly calm and positive despite the negative test on Friday.

MrsG280516 · 25/10/2016 09:32

With all that EWCM Mouse you must definitely be in with a chance! I've never noticed any before so don't think I get much of it, or at least I haven't whilst on the pill. Still got my FX for you!

tatatetelle · 25/10/2016 10:05

Mouse did you take an opk just in case? Keeping everything x for you all this ewcm is a good sign!!

Purple yer that's the most challenging/frustrating part of it all, the waiting... I started the referral conversation with my GP in March and we got our first appt at the ACU in September. But from September everything moved quite swiftly and here we are!
It's a big positive that your blood came back good, and that you're cycle is regular as well, it's one less thing you have to worry about at least. On this journey there are no small victories!!!

SummerHopin · 25/10/2016 10:23

Morning ladies.

tata thank you so much for all that, it really has given me lots of help and assurance. Very interesting to hear about the bloods not needing bleeding too, as I think I might push for that again knowing that now.

My DH hasnt done a SA yet so we need to get that organised. My latest STI and screens were clear but they were last year, I also had an ultrasound back in early 2015 for possible endimitrosis (as was having bad tummy pain) but that all came back clear.

I think that we might need to redo a lot of those tests though so that are up to date, so basically I think I need to get pushy with the GP.

purple I'm having similar thoughts to you re. waiting times. My DH keeps telling me I need to slow down but my mind is working on the "6 weeks for this and 8 weeks for that" so it will take longer than we think to actually get answers.

I'm not sure what ages we all are either ladies, but I'm 31 so the age issue is starting to creep onto the scene as well.

I must say though, its lovely having you guys to chat to xx

tatatetelle · 25/10/2016 11:08

I'm just glad my experience can help anyone who might be in the same situation!! xx

Re the bloods, from history the longest I've gone without having any AF is 9 months (this was not a pregnancy, just bloody pcos) so I told GP I wasn't willing to wait that long and she agreed. We knew we wouldn't track anything coz there was nothing to track, we just did it to have it in the file.

SA is really easy so if can get that out of the way just do it I would say.

ps I'm 28, but I don't think 31 is any close to being an age issue at-all!! I do understand the feeling of wanting it to happen now though xx

SummerHopin · 25/10/2016 17:06

So......spoke to a different GP this afternoon (my normal one was away) - and I have blood test booked for this Friday! Am so so pleased, it feels like a huge development for me!

She said that she didnt think it would be PCOS as my ultrasound last year was clear and she didnt think the pill could hide anything that much. Once the bloods are back they will go from there, but she has also ordered a test for the other things like thyroid etc so I should have a pretty conclusive result coming through.

Woohoo! What progress :) Haven't felt this positive in quite a while xx

Purpleviola14 · 25/10/2016 18:35

Tata thanks, yeah I know I really am thankful my cycles and bloods are normal as I know a lot of womens still arnt which is so frustrating for them. What other tests have you had done so far? Do you know what the next course of action is for you?

Summer it's really good that your scan came back clear last year, but Defo get pushy, you have waited long enough. They should be willing to get you a SA for your hubby as it's actually really easy these days. They literally DIY at home and take it to the nearest hospital sample drop off if you live within an hour, and the results are there the next day or 2 as they have to test it as soon as you drop it off. And awesome about your tests, is that your day 21 bloods she's doing for you? Fx for you.

It is really nice to have you guys to chat to, think I'd drive OH insane otherwise. I'm 30 the beginning of next year so time is a ticking in my head constantly!

tatatetelle · 25/10/2016 21:51

Oh Summer I'm so pleased for you, that's great news!!! We'll both have a blood test on Friday then, do you know what they will be looking for? So glad things are progressing for you xx

Purple we haven't had any other tests done, just one more scan and blood test for me at the first ACU appt but that's it they started me on treatment right away - but my pcos was diagnosed when I was 19 so we know exactly what we're dealing with, which helps. Next course of action if this cycle didn't work, is trying to get pregnant naturally in the next 2 cycles on Clomid. What's next for you aftet OH's SA? Have you been referred yet or are you waiting for more results?

Ps- I am getting all emotional watching 'Married as first sight' on channel 4, this is so cheesy, but so sweet!!

MouseLove · 25/10/2016 22:53

Tata I LOVE married at first sight. The last series was fab. I didn't realise it was back on and luckily caught the start when flicking.

I didn't OPK because I'm silly and dont have any yet lol. I have some coming though. Will be useful for next time. Absolutely no EWCM today though so whatever was going on has finished.

tatatetelle · 26/10/2016 09:38

Mouse Iast night was the first time I was watching, I'll admit I had dismissed it as another boring reality tv show but I loved it!! And that Vera Wang dress.... Star

I think you should test with me on 6/11!! Grin
