Well I've ovulated 2 days early for some reason so hold no hope for this cycle. Pants!

Pooger · 04/01/2017 18:52

Any news Missy? I took another test today and it was also positive. Been getting very excited all day although I am trying to not get too excited. Have been having a grin on my face while swimming this afternoon (something unheard of!)

Pooger · 04/01/2017 18:56

Oh bum sorry my browser failed to update the page! Sorry to hear that Missy. Have u considered using

Missy sorry to hear re AF.. Hope next cycle will be yours

Ali what a pain... How do you know for sure, do you temp? Is your o date normally same each month?

MissyJones83 · 04/01/2017 20:00

So happy for you pooger loving the continued BFPs!! Yes I am considering sticks this month just because I'm sure I ovulated late this month so would be good to know for sure.

Alibaba2 · 04/01/2017 20:07

Hi Clara, I can feel the ovulation pains but this month and last month I've been using the clear blue dual hormone test so I went from low fertility yesterday (first day of testing) to peak fertility today. I did feel ov was imminent as had been having mild ov pains and ewcm. So the app will say ov is tomorrow as that's when it finishes I guess. Still so early though! I think I need to go back to having acu.

Clara101 · 04/01/2017 20:46

Hi Ali I guess if you ov'ed today still worth a try tonight / in am so go find DH...Wink! I know some are sceptical but I definitely think good acu can help sort out cycle issues. Not sure where yr based but have seen someone good in London in past. Can pm you details if helpful.

Alibaba2 · 04/01/2017 21:09

Thanks Clara. We dtd mon and this afternoon. Timing wasn't perfect and I can't help worry about the quality of the egg on cd9. What cd are you?

Yes I'd be interested in getting the Acu details...

Clara101 · 04/01/2017 22:23

IAteSomeofthePies · 04/01/2017 22:47

Hi All. Happy new year! I hope 2017 brings good things and a baby for each of us!

I'm still on holiday, so not ready to accept that I'll be back to work soon. AF turned up today, which was very sad, as this was the cycle where I got bfp again after my second to last miscarriage and ended up with DS. I knew it wasn't likely to happen again just the same, but deep inside I was kinda hoping.

That looks positive, Pooger! Congratulations!

Your timing doesn't sound too bad, Ali. Fingers crossed.

Sorry about AF, Missy.

I'm glad you feel good about your next steps, Fuzzy, It sounds really positive. I have found myself wondering about that route, but like ababs, DH wasn't sure about the idea when last we talked about it.

Fingers crossed for this tww, Clara.

Glad to hear back from you, Grizzer!

IAteSomeofthePies · 04/01/2017 22:50

Sorry about the loss of your dog, City. They are part of the family and it is very hard.

Thanks for the positive story, anywhichway. Always nice to hear one.

IAteSomeofthePies · 04/01/2017 22:54

Sorry, pages and pages to catch up on here.

A belated welcome, Tobermory, Bumple and eggcup! Good luck.

Sorry about the bfn this cycle, Cthulhu. Hope the next IUI goes better.

IAteSomeofthePies · 04/01/2017 22:56

Hope I haven't missed anyone.

citybumpkin · 05/01/2017 08:35

Hey all, hope you're all doing okay? I'm struggling with the loss of my dog. No more routines and snuggles. He WAS my family and now I feel lost/alone. I'm lying in bed and can hear my neighbours children playing. My house = silence.

I ran away to France for a few days with my partner to escape. Trying to plan the next steps of my/our lives. So I'm now trying to focus on TTC. Off to see my friend, an acupunturist, this morning.

I will try to catch up on the thread later. I seem to be struggling to concentrate on most things at the moment. There has been a snuffling furry face next to me for the last 14 years but now... Sad

Alibaba2 · 05/01/2017 16:14

I'm sorry City, it must be a really sad time. And such a depressing time of year. I hope this year brings you luck and good news - and that in the short term, you get some comfort from acu. I'm starting mine again tomorrow - it really helped me feel better.

Alibaba2 · 05/01/2017 19:48

And hello Pies! Sorry AF got you. It's a negative time but it doesn't last long. Come on the creative and positive hormones!!!

IAteSomeofthePies · 06/01/2017 05:10

Oh, City, that is so sad! I'm so sorrry that your furry face is missing. Hugs.

Thanks, Ali. I could use some creativity and positivity!

I hope the acupuncture made you both feel better.

Clara101 · 06/01/2017 21:59

Feel for you City.... it must be a really tough time.. 14 years is a long time of companionship. I hope you feel a bit better soon. How was your friend?

Sorry about AF Pies...

I had some marginally good news because I managed to get progesterone test done right day (thanks for tips Ali!). The results were actually good so pleased abt that

Alibaba2 · 07/01/2017 20:03

Good news Clara, that must be a bit of a boost.

Random question but has anyone ever had a corpus luteum measurement on an ultrasound?

I'm just having a little panic that I'm ovulating too early and the eggs don't have enough time to develop. Last month I ovulated on cd 10-11 and the corpus luteum 2 days before AF measured 15mm. Does this have any bearing on follicle size?

I'm not so worried about ov'ing on cd11 but cd9 seems really early. However, I did read that as you get older the eggs are recruited earlier so perhaps they still reach the same size by the time of ovulation.

Mackonadragos · 08/01/2017 10:55

Hi everyone,

As I'm 41, this is my place now, I suppose. Please forgive me for not introducing myself just yet, and not saying hello to every one of you. I do not want to be drown into the subject more than necessary, as I found, it easily takes over my days and prevents me from concentrating on other issues.

However, I have dipped into your stories every now and then, and I found that you have some good and useful information, as well as your personal experiences , which worthy of reading. I did't dig into the subject of ttc too deep up to this point, as I'd no problems when I tried before (in my mid and late 30s), and I have children, who keep me v busy.

But I have some questions, experiences I'd like to share and ask what you think of it.

So first of all, Alibaba, you mentioned that you ovulated too early, and this is what I've started to experience too. In my very last cycle, I even missed my LH surge, started to test on day 12. (I tested up till day 16, so I can only assume that the LH surge was on day 11, which is very early for me.) I had a mmc back in May and ever since my period shortened to 26-28 days, from 30-32 days, and ever since I've been unable to get pregnant (normally, I fell pregnant in my firs cycle, that was the case 5 times out of 6 pregnancies, I fell pregnant in my 2nd cycle with 1 pregnancy, and my last two was when I was 40.) But miraculously, this blissful pattern suddenly ended last April.

So, I googled and came across with so-called short follicular phase , but there is far less information/literature about it than about short luteal phase. However, I have found a page, which might be useful to browse through, as it is about how the cycle is related to miscarriages.

sites.google.com/site/miscarriageresearch/menstrual-cycle-and-miscarriage

Picking out ethinyl estradiol, has anyone used it, or heard about it?

Also, another site that might be worthy of reading.

sites.google.com/site/miscarriageresearch/menstrual-cycle-and-miscarriage/normalizing-menstrual-cycle

Anyway, I wish you all good luck for the new year, and please do post if you have anything about the above mentioned. Thank you.

Alibaba2 · 08/01/2017 14:52

Thank Mack, I'll have a proper read of that.

The weird thing is that I've alwsys had 26 day cycles and DD1 was conceived early in the cycle 8 years ago - my due date was brought forward 6 days. And I definitely conceived last year ovulating on cd11.

I'm going to try to go for a scan next cycle so I can see how big the follicles are at ovulation.

Do you know which day you ov Mack? It might not be the reason for the delay in conceiving. Hard to know what it is exactly. It might just be a numbers game.

Mackonadragos · 09/01/2017 09:55

Hi Alibaba, you are probably right. I'm just trying to outsmart nature - and I feel I'm loosing. It is just so unusual for me, this cut off point of last April, since when, nothing has happened.

Anyway, I "analysed" my period pattern of 2015, before my last two pregnancies, and the only consistent thing about them are their irregularity. I somehow, always had the impression of it being fairy regular. But it varied between 24 and 32 days, no cycles are the same length. So at least it give me a sort of reassurance, that my current cycles are pretty much the same as they used to be (I might try and go back further in time, see if it was the case too.)

So from my varied cycles, I can only assume that my ovulation varies too. Especially, that my due dates were normally forwarded too, only 3 days though.

From the websites above, I browsed through, and if I understand correctly, the follicle reaches its median size in a shorter follicle phase too, just in a shorter time.

Alibaba2 · 09/01/2017 11:10

That's good to know.

I read that the follicles are sometimes recruited at the end of the previous cycle so that is more time for them to grow.

As long as you're catching the egg in time I guess.

I normally start my opks on cd7 but didn't this cycle because we were away and I forgot to take them with me. But I will definitely start then next cycle and see when I ov. I'm also having an ultrasound to have a look at what's going on.

Have you just started using opks?

citybumpkin · 09/01/2017 17:49

Hey Clara, my friend/acupuncture was great. I would highly recommend it. It was very relaxing and it was discovered that I really should eat breakfast - preferably something warm/hot. It helped that my friend is a massive dog fanatic - she has 3 collies - so I got plenty of stroking time in before the needle session. I will go back next month so we can do some further work.

Missing my boy like crazy and feeling guilty for all the times I may have neglected him. Life has to go on though. Hope all is well with you.
