Yay kwick

pickle162 · 28/10/2016 16:14

Sorry caution brain dead!!!

kwick · 28/10/2016 16:17

So glad about scan shoes!!! What a relief! So so happy for you!!!

lovely I have had one oat bath - will have another when AF has gone as ladies: drum roll... AF FINALLY arrived this morning, I think cd41 or so and I have my baseline booked for tomorrow.

caution great news on your appointment. Dont get too stressed about weight though - lovely Dr I spoke to after Hycosy said the important thing is to not put weight on, if you remain stable that is ok.

Yay for AF pickle!!!

she is finally on her way home from very intense and stressful week of business trip.

Haha no worries pickle. AF can do funny things to you!

kwick, the appointment I had with the donor coordinator at my local Care clinic told me they wouldn't do any treatment if my BMI is over 35. Sad and she said again over the phone yesterday that I need to work on getting it down before they'll do anything. I'm hoping that if I haven't, they'll be kind enough to say "it's only a touch over, we'll over look it if you continue to try losing it" but I have a feeling in my waters that they won't! I'm so annoyed because I only need to lose like 4-5lb to get it under 35 and I bet I can't do it.
Great news on your AF arriving! What took it so long?! Hopefully this round of IUI will be successful and YOUR round. Are you going to be taking any drugs or doing it completely natural?

pickle162 · 28/10/2016 21:18

You have to have a scan whilst on AF?Shock
Me and u kwick would be on same cycle if I have saved up money quicker
4weeks and 6 days until my amh!!!!! Can't wait

StorkAhoy · 28/10/2016 21:20

Hey caution, don't fret, any diet you choose, as long as you stick to it, you should lose 4-7lbs within the first month just due to water and change of eating habit. Join ww online for £11 for 30 days, or do SW online. I lost 6st with sw and three of that was within the first 6mths, 1 stone in the first month. You totally can do this. In the grand scheme of challenges of having a baby on our own, losing weight is in your control, and is achievable. Let's have some PMA! Get rid of everything bad in your cupboards, eat meat (if non veggie), fish, veg and fruit, have some calcium, have some fibre.

I'm planning on carrying on with sw during pregnancy as it's now simply the way I eat. I still have tests, but I've trained myself to eat and cook with zero fat. It's not easy, but hey, nothing worth have no ever is, huh?

You've got this!!!

In other news, I'm tired, so tired. Fell asleep during acupuncture again! And my internal thermostat is defunct, either boiling,or freezing....and I need to stop watching Instagram videos of women using gonalF and menopur because I'm freaking myself out at the amazing dramatics and apparent pain.....
down reg scan booked Tuesday.....

Bon weekend!

StorkAhoy · 28/10/2016 21:22

I still have treats! Not tests! Anyhoo caution my lovely, best of luck, just ask if you have sw questions!

kwick · 28/10/2016 21:46

Yep pickle it is one if the lovely aapects of IUI/IVF. They check your ovaries and lining. It is usually over fairly fast. At least it will be day 2 of AF...

caution 5lbs is nothing!!! You can do it!!!

OP posts:
kwick · 28/10/2016 22:13

stork SW is approved by the Royal College of something to do during pregnancy - ask and your leader will give you a pack.
Those types of injections (menopur) are like a walk in the park - it is the intramuscular or blood thining ones you need to worry about! Seriously they are like pin pricks Grin

In taxi on way home. Shattered but so glad to be back in Blighty.

OP posts:
StorkAhoy · 28/10/2016 23:36

kwick yes I'm so glad sw is approved!

But seriously these videos. Lovely American girls, and they've put the fear of God into me. Although the needles they use over there are MASSIVE compared to the ones I have.

Also egg collection seems way more painful than I've been led to believe....!

StorkAhoy · 28/10/2016 23:36

Meant to say I'm glad you're back! X

CautionHormone · 28/10/2016 23:46

stork - you're honestly so, so lovely, bless your heart.
I've debated on joining SW actually, because I've only ever heard good things about them and recently I've seen looooaddss of people join and lose like 6-8lb in their first two weeks - it's amazing!
Well done on your 6st loss!! You must feel amazing... How long did it take to do overall, if you don't mind me asking?
I totally agree. Like you said, in the grand scheme of things, this is one of the bridges I can easily cross. I think I am going to join SW, actually. :)

What exactly is a down reg scan?? Good luck for it, anyways! I'm sorry to hear you're so tired/having troubles with your temperature :( is that a side effect from the medication? Hopefully it'll pass quickly. I'll be thinking of you Tuesday!

kwick you're right, 5lb is nothing, but I want to lose as much as poss so they don't have a chance to turn me away. Thanks for the vote of confidence Halo

kwick · 29/10/2016 08:42

stork STEP AWAY FROM THE FEAR!!! The egg collection is not painful - you will be asleep - however you may be a little sore afterwards so try and have a rest for the remainder of the day.
Are you sure you are looking at the right videos? Looks like the ones you are watching maybe injecting with the draw up needle - which is WRONG!!!

OP posts:
kwick · 29/10/2016 10:57

Baseline scan good - lining & ovary. Next day next saturday. Will be drinking blue organic milk until then.

I may have had a little Lush splurge afterwards

StorkAhoy · 29/10/2016 11:31

caution it took me2.5yrs to lose that. The last year as ve been travelling and baby stuff the weight loss has halted, but I've maintained and that is the important thing! Anyhoo, now back on it, big time!

You will have to make big choices though between eating things like full fat milk, yogurt, avacados, walnuts which are good for excellent eggs, or losing weight. That has been challenging for me. But when you think that without losing weight you won't have the chance to have a baby anyway, the choice is quite clear, at least in my head.

In all honesty, my advice would be, stop thinking about joining, go online and do it right now, then empty cupboards of badness and start today. Don't start tomorrow, don't put it off, be clear with yourself that this is your path (assuming this is the path you choose) and commit to it, in the same way you've committed to having a child. I say again, you can do this, you just need to chose to do this. Xxx the struggle is real, but it's worth it, I feel lots better!

Down reg scan is like a baseline scan to confirm that my first lot of IVF meds have worked and that I'm ready to start stimulating the ovaries. Also get to experience a trial run of the embryo transfer somthat will be fun....

kwick yeah I've stepped away from Instagram. And I thought they were using the draw up needle too, but nope they have two massive needles that they use to injection into their butts. I'm glad for my small needles!

CautionHormone · 29/10/2016 11:31

Yay for a good scan kwick. Hopefully this is your time!!!

StorkAhoy · 29/10/2016 11:32

caution and yes I think the tiredness and temp are down to the meds, but as my affirmations tell me, "I'm finding IVF easy", "I'm enjoying my IVF process" "I laugh my way through IVF"

.......!

CautionHormone · 29/10/2016 11:38

Wow stork... You've done well to maintain it, especially as you've been travelling!! Well done you!!

The choice is clear in my head too. I know what I need to do. It's funny, because I've never been so sure about anything in my life!

Yeah you're right. If you join online, can you still go to the meetings? Because I think I'd find the meetings beneficial. I'd have something to work towards each week moreso than if I was doing it at home myself. The closest meeting to me is on Tuesdays... so not too long to wait, but I want to get started now!

Ooh I see! You'll be fine lovely :) I know it's nerve wracking but I'll bet everything's coming along nice and dandy!!! How do they do a trial run of embryo transfer?! Hmm X

StorkAhoy · 29/10/2016 11:57

caution you have to chose online or group with SW. I could never guarantee getting to group so it was an easy decision for me to go website only.

Basically the trial is just like the transfer, so insertion of a tube, but instead of embryos being transferred they use a fluid, it's basically to note any issues with tube insertion so there are no surprises on transfer day.

Good luck with SW, we've all got your back!

INeedNewShoes · 29/10/2016 11:58

Sorry I've been quiet. I've been trying to spend less time on Mumsnet as I am the world's greatest procrastinator and have been frittering away hours and hours each week on here Blush

Caution - brilliant that you've got your appointment booked for December! Another good word for Slimming World. Both my SIL and my neighbour have had great results with it and I've eaten a few of the SW recipes and they're really tasty. They must have some clever chefs to come up with such appealing meals that fit within the plan.

Stork - wow! Your weight loss and sustaining it are hugely impressive. You must have had such a confidence boost from the achievement. Re videos etc., step away from the internet! The people who are choosing to blog about their injections and egg collection are bound to be the dramatic types! Anyhoo you're stronger than that. You've already proven that you can do 'mind over matter' with your weight loss and also the fact that we have all chosen this route to having a baby connects us all as being proactive, determined types! We'll just do what we have to do.

Pickle - it probably depends on the clinic re scans and whether you're medicated or not. I didn't have any tracking scans for my IUIs apart from that one time I went to Denmark a week early (oops Grin) so they checked for me. It was all done on OPKs for me.

Kwick - you have been having a mammoth time traveling with work! I hope that you are safely home and enjoying a relaxing weekend now. Fab news that everything looked good on the baseline scan.

I hope everyone has nice weekends Smile. I had a lovely bike ride early this morning but then spent three hours vegging out on the sofa Confused

kwick · 29/10/2016 16:46

Oh dear Lord my period pain is so much and paracetamol just does not cut it (can no longer use drug of choice as it impacts fertiity; wish I had read small print 20 years ago Angry).
I am on my way home after lunch at my mum's - may have a bath and then TV and sofa for me Grin
Have to help clear old shed from allotment tomorrow.

Karendvm · 29/10/2016 18:21

Hello all!

caution maybe you need some notes stuck all around the house too? I'm sure you'll get the weight off on no time.

kwick yay for af! You are doing a natural cycle, right? I'm happy your baseline was good.

My af arrived today, right when my app said it would. Scheduled my baseline for Monday. I could have went tomorrow but I'm on call and it's too much of a hassle. Fingers crossed!

CautionHormone · 30/10/2016 03:17

Gah! I'm up at stupid o'clock because I can't sleep!

stork ahh I see. I can guarantee on getting to a meeting every week - I'm working with my Dad at the moment, in the family business, so I can make up my hours another day/the same day. I'm pretty lucky I can do that - not many people can!
Thank you for the vote of confidence... It's nice to know someone else believes in me!!!

Oooh I see! It makes total sense to do a trial Egg transfer - it saves on complications! You'll be fine, and I know I'm not alone in wishing you the best of luck :)

shoes you needn't explain your silence :) we understand! I'm sure we've all been there... I know I have! I still do it, i still find myself on here procrastinating...
Thank you :) I'm so excited! I can't wait! I just hope my bipolar doesn't become an issue, even though I've been stable/symptom free for a long time now...
I'm glad to hear Slimming World has been a success with your neighbour & SIL - just reiterates my point of what I was saying... It has worked for so many people!! I'm glad to hear the recipes are nice. Grin
I just need to keep telling myself "I CAN do this, I WILL lose the weight.." etc etc. I need to adopt kwicks positive mantra Grin

Sorry to hear your periods bad kwick Sad did your bath & TV & sofa help?!
AF arrived for me today too... Must be something in the waters!!

Hope you've all had a lovely Saturday. X

CautionHormone · 30/10/2016 03:20

karen - I think you may be right. I don't see why I can't stick things up around the house... It'll help, and I know it will!!!

CautionHormone · 30/10/2016 20:20

Hope everyone's had a great weekend!
