But was it the folic acid that caused the problem or the folate. My hefa book recommends 400mcg of folic acid (I don't know what that converts into for mg) but don't know what they class as a high dose.
Would be worth discussing with a pharmacist tho, they should be able to help

I used to be on 400mcg of folic acid, then as I have a high BMI I got my consultant to prescribe 5mg - which is 5000mcg (or at least I think it is) of Folic Acid but when those run out last Sunday I switched to 5000mcg of Folate - folic in its natural form. I did have a little itchiness last week from an old bit but under boobage itchiness started on Sunday...
Anyway I am not taking any today - except for 400mcg of folic acid that is in my "trying to have a baby" supplement and lets see if itchiness goes away....

No they just focus on same people, I saw a blonde girl yesterday and thought who the fek ru?!?!?!? Just settling down to watch tonight's episode after getting in from cinema.
Hopefully it's just AF making u feel a bit peaky.
I'm feeling a bit shitty at the mo to be honest, constantly eating(don't seem to feel full!),house looks like a bomb has gone off as trying to sort stuff but not really done much at all just made a mess, won't be saving any baby money this month(goal seems a million years away), split from current job in a week, last high pay today as will drop next month with new role. And for fek sake I hate it when the day starts dark and ends dark!! I would like to be a bear and just hibernate
Sorry for the Bleugh everyone, hope everyone is ok

kwick · 24/09/2016 03:36

pickle I am right there with you on your rant!!! Also to add to the beauty of it all I appear to have a nuisance caller who has decided to text and call me at 3 in the morning. When I asked who it was they replied "God" FFS.

pickle my flat always looks like a bomb has hit it and even more so when I am sorting stuff out but the satisfaction I feel when it is done is worth it. I need to swap my stuff around - my wardrobe is not very wide but is quite deep, so with the change of season I have to swap the clothes around Confused hopefully I will weed out some items for ebay too as I go.
Right gonna try and sleep some more.

Jeez how annoying!!! What a tw@t to do that at all let alone middle of night!
I was in shops today and there was a man stroking the crotch of ladies swimming costume Confused I was so like wtf that I then tried to go up the down escalator lol!

INeedNewShoes · 24/09/2016 19:45

Kwick - how's the itching? Did you stop taking the folate?

It does occur to me that because we can metabolise folate better, we probably don't need 5mg of it to get the same amount of the folate as we would from 5mg of folic acid. I don't know though, and science has never been my strong point!

I've decided to take around 3mg of folate a day. I think this high dose is disagreeing with me a bit - my tummy has been a bit grumbly.

Pickle - wtf! I can totally see how seeing that would lead to a momentary lapse of concentration.

I hope everyone's ok this Saturday evening.

I'm off on holiday tomorrow, back on around the 5th of October, so if I'm not posting it's because I'm too busy chilling out Grin or possibly because I don't have internet access (I'm camping!).

kwick · 24/09/2016 19:47

LOL pickle!
I decided to go shopping in Wood Green - boy has this place gone down hill... The shops are dirty jumble sales - not going there again!

Sky Box finally connected - had a fee hiccups but it seems to be working at the mo.

I am absolutely shattered... Still feeling a bit peaky. An early night for me.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend Grin

Hi ladies :)

Kwick, has the itching stopped now?! What a pain in the ass. Were you getting any other symptoms or was it just purely itching? So strange...
How are you feeling now??

Pickle you'll get there eventually :) I read your little rant (bless your heart) and nothing seems to be going your way at the moment! These things take time... You'll be well away soon :)

Shoes have fun camping! I've actually never been camping, although I've always wanted to... Mum and dad have just bought a motor home though so I may go off with them sometimes Wink

Sorry I've been inactive (again!). Having a few problems with my heart... I've got a condition called POTS which is non life threatening, just a pain to live with, and it seems to have gotten worse. Had an echocardiogram yesterday and seeing my consultant on Wednesday. I've forgotten what it's like to be healthy - I haven't been right since July Confused Sad

Hope you're all having a lovely wkend xx

kwick · 25/09/2016 14:18

shoes have a fab holiday! You so deserve a rest! I hope you have good weather for the camping! Are you tenting or caravaning it?

I am still off the folate... Mild itching persists... It is probably something else like bed bugs Shock
I am away from tomorrow until Friday - maybe a change of scene will help? I will start to reintroduce folate when I get back but shoes you are right maybe not as much.
I have a bit of a sore throat and will get some lemsip at heathrow tomorrow - something that is forbidden during tww and pregnancy...

We have decided to get a leg of Spanish piggywiggy for Christmas (we did not last Christmas due to risk of toxoplasmosis for moi - but apparently if you freeze for two days you kill off the nasties!!!!!!!) Grin

caution sorry you have been poorly again. Take good care of yourself Flowers

Hi all. Just lost my dog moe. He passed away at home this morning. Always thought he'd be around to help me welcome a baby into our lives. I'm beating myself up because he passed while I was upstairs. I should have been with him. As a vet I feel like I failed him. But at least he had some peanut butter this morning and I told him I loved him and that he was my boy. Life just plain sucks sometimes.

Oh Karen my darling, I'm so sorry to hear that Sad sending lots of love xxx

Sorry you've been poorly again caution good luck for your appointment on Wednesday!

kwick yummy,Christmas piggy sounds lovely (sorry any vegetarians out there) we always have roast pork on Boxing Day and then fight over the crackling :)

Sooooooo had my appt today:
They were lovely except for one of the receptionists who was a bit snotty when asked about parking!!!
They recommended AMH around Nov/Dec time so if low reserve then would recommend starting asap
Then consultant appt in Jan so that where possible when I have the nurses appt we can pre plan most of my appts for certain scans etc then still be able to start in May time unless AMH suggests start earlier. They have a sperm bank onsite but also use London and Brighton sperm bank if no donors suitable/that I want but obviously that would be more expensive than their on site ones.
The biggy for me is the lady spoke to the consultant who advised I come off the pill about 2months before AMH but I can chose when I want to do that based on my own timelines. I have decided that today was my last pill, why delay the inevitable...I have to admit I did cry tho-feking periods! Hate them! I ordered a basal scan thermometer too which came with 20ovulation sticks too (good old eBay.....though obviously new Confused) and I've downloaded the Ovia app so scan track my cycles that I haven't a scooby do about as not had a proper period in at least 8years! Meh who knows it might make me loose a bit of weight coming off the pill to. Wish I could get started now but save save save I must

Sending everyone love xx

It's utterly heartbreaking, take care and look after yourself xx

Lovelyholiday · 26/09/2016 16:08

Karen I am so sorry for your loss. It's awful when you lose a pet, they take a piece of your heart with them. I hope you're okay (silly question, I know). He knew he was loved. How old was he, if you don't mind me asking?
A year ago yesterday, my dog was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 4. She's in remission and still going strong, thankfully! I couldn't bear it if I lost her, so I dread to think how you're feeling Flowers

Thanks pickle. Had a really bad weekend with my heart... Nearly had to go to A&E cos I was on the verge of passing out on Sunday but I managed to hold off going - hate going down there!! Thought it'd be silly to go seeing as I'm so close to my appointment.
Yay! So glad you had your appointment. Makes things feel more real doesn't it? As lovely said, you're one step closer now!!!

Hope you're all having a lovely Tuesday xx

CautionHormone · 27/09/2016 15:56

Started doing calligraphy - what do you guys think?? Done this for my great grandma as I knew she'd appreciate it. I've only just started so it's not perfect, but thought I'd show you all! Grin

caution he was 11. I am struggling with two thing. 1) I'm a vey and feel like I should have been able to save him and 2) I wasn't in the same room when he passed. I've had a lot of support but it's hard. Im happy to hear your dog is in remission, that's wonderful. And very nice calligraphy!

pickle fantastic news about your consult. I'm glad everything is lining up for you. I like the ovia app. Very user friendly.

kwick how goes the itching?

kwick · 28/09/2016 06:26

pickle so glad your appointment went well!! You are getting started by coming off the pill - so exciting!!!

OP posts:
kwick · 28/09/2016 06:33

caution please take it easy!! Love the calligraphy!

karen sometimes the doggies need to go to doggy heaven. He knew you loved him.

Itchiness continues - in different places but hands and feet are pretty constant. Frickerty fcuk! Cannot think what is up with me. Have gone down with a cold too and I left my mouthguard at home so my tongue is in shreds... Envy

OP posts:
CautionHormone · 29/09/2016 18:10

Oh Karen Sad I'm so sorry. I know you feel like you should've been able to save him, but if you think about it realistically, is there anything you could've done to save him?? I can totally understand you feeling bad about not being in the room though. He knew he was loved. He passed away peacefully by the sounds of things and he had a happy life.
Thank you - it's her birthday on the 6th October, she's going to be 5 :) can't believe it, can't believe I've had her five years!

Thank you Kwick. I've been taking it easy. Had my hospital appointment yesterday and I have to have a 7 day ECG...!!! How crazy is that!?

Thank you both Karen & Kwick, I love doing calligraphy - it's so so relaxing. Will be doing a lot of it on the TWOT when I finally get there 🙄

How are you all?! Xx

CautionHormone · 29/09/2016 18:11

Kwick could you not go to the doctors with your itchiness? Maybe they can give you some sort of cream or ointment to make it all go away... Have you ever thought whether it could be eczema?! Xx

kwick · 30/09/2016 06:56

Yep caution I definitely need to go to Doctors but when??? Have Hycosy Monday, travel to Brussels tuesday, maybe when I am back on Friday? Have not even had a second to even think about booking an appointment this week it has been 8am starts and 11pm finishes every day, except monday when I started at 4am.... I need a job with less travel!

OP posts:
CautionHormone · 30/09/2016 20:14

Crikey Kwick - you're the definition of a busy lady!!! Maybe see about next week then, and in the meantime I hope your itchiness dies down a little bit. Is Brussels business or pleasure? I can't remember whether you've previously stated - either way, enjoy!!
Good luck with your Hycosy, I'm sure everything will be fine. Will you let us know?
