Lucky you for time off - any plans? I have only just seen yesterdays masterchef... But my memory is so bad, cannot remember who was last to leave... Was it the lovely Indian lady? Real shame she is out 'cos she looked like she could cook.

Hi everyone, I'm constantly behind.

Kwick, would you have needed a hycosy with IVF? Or is that because you are thinking IUI?

Also the rash, may be a skin fungal infection caused by hotel bedsheets, check with your go. I caught one from a NYC hotel last year, had to take steroids in the end as my body was covered and itchy as hell! I pray it isn't that for you!

So news from me.... it's all happened apace. Consult happened Friday. Found out can't do IVF in December as if period is even one day late then the round would need to be abandoned. Not cool! So, I made the decision to bring it forward. Normally I would delay, delay, delay, but this time, it felt right to bring it forward.

Too late to order in donor sperm, so I asked what they had available at the clinic. One guy left! So I grabbed him. All that hassle and fixating on juggling and weighing up donor profiles has gone! poof!

So I start meds on oct 14th, hopeful collection on Nov 16th and double hopeful transfer on Nov 21.

The sh&t just got really real.

Love to all on your journeys!

pickle162 · 20/09/2016 20:30

Yeh the lovey Indian lady, I was in tears when she touched their feet out of respect, such a cutie
I'm seeing my 38week pregnant best mate tomorrow, lots of washing a some more sorting (or just sleeping) on thu, then Bridget Jones baby on Friday then dim sum with my 36.5 week preg sister and her hubby on Sunday then baby appt on Monday so lots of nice things to do :)

Ooh stork!!!!! How exciting!!!!!

Karendvm · 20/09/2016 20:34

kwick your strength is an inspiration to me. I hope your itchiness settles. Are you taking any antihistamine for it?

I hope you get some answers in the up coming weeks. X

Karendvm · 20/09/2016 21:21

stork so exciting! So we may end up cycle buddies! I'll find out next week. Of course, I'm iui, so a bit different. Very happy for you!

kwick · 20/09/2016 21:50

Great news stork will keep my fingers crossed for you!
I did 5 IUIs before I started on IVF and I am going to go back to IUI for a while but first will flush out my tube.
Am also going to try acupuncture - my cousin recommends the Dr she used as she did IVF.

It had bloody better not be a fungal infection from the sheets!!!!

Oh God pickle I was crying so hard when she did that - George was crying too!
Wow you have some great plans Grin

karen have not taken an antihistamine - will try that tomorrow. For now I have doused in calamine and also trialling zinc oxide tape on an area... Dr Google says it is hives....

Shoes, if your consultant isn't fussed then it really matter, surely?! Glad you don't have to have it done, that's got to be some peace of mind for you. Your dating scan will come round so quickly... Then before you know it, (dare i say it?) it'll be Christmas! Blush

I love to walk, but with my illness it can sometimes make it difficult. I like to get out and about as much as I can, sometimes it's just hard to... But needs must, I must push through it because a baby is SO much more important to me!!!

Kwick, what causes the itching? I must've missed it when you said, sorry!
Isn't it best to have the hycosy done just for peace of mind more than anything else...?? I have to have one done before I start treatment to check tubes - not looking forward to it, I have to say!

Stork that's fantastic news! Sooner than you expected but it's not a bad thing, eh? Are you excited..?! Grin that's a shame about the donor sperm but maybe this one is perfect for you.

No idea why I'm up at 6am when I don't need to be - back to sleep I go! X

kwick · 21/09/2016 07:40

caution I have no idea what is causing the itching. At first I thought it was the progesterone but I stopped taking that on Sunday. Other possibles: bed bugs, fungal infection from hotel (or my) sheets, stress, allergic reaction to something I ate, washing powder, beauty product.

I started watching the Alex Jones fertility thing this morning... Every story has made me cry so far - will likely watch the rest tonight.

Ooh I will sky plus that, didn't even see it advertised

kwick · 21/09/2016 11:18

What a relief!!! I have not picked up some horrible lurgy from Cryos donor - well at least that is not why they were contacting me!
It was a courtesy call to say that they have decided to not accept Cryos donors anymore as they have seen the family status has been filling up really quickly (in UK you cannot use donors with more than 10 families). They did not have any news on Xytex and Zika - but if I need more magic potion then to ask for latest info.
Also good to hear they now expect only to use 1 vial per IUI/IVF - so if Lady Luck is with me I have enough for two more tries until I need to find a new donor.

Happy Wednesday everyone!!!!

INeedNewShoes · 21/09/2016 12:43

That's very good news Kwick. It would have been awful if the donor had some horrid lurgy. You'd think they could have told you that straight away!

Anyway, all is well which is the main thing Smile

Will you have your HyCoSy this cycle? (I think it has to be CD10 or something like that).

Karendvm · 21/09/2016 16:01

That's great news kwick. And good to know you can do an iui and then still have a vial in reserve.

kwick · 21/09/2016 17:59

OMG the smell of BO on this bus is making me heave...
My womble feels like it wants to come out of my body... Yet still no AF...

shoes yep wish they had either emailed me or left a voicemail!!

Have spent a lot of money today - have stocked up on co-enzyme q10 (& just realised I should have been taking double before!) and folate. Plus "treated" myself to a micro needle roller...Confused

OP posts:
Karendvm · 21/09/2016 18:23

How much q10 do you take kwick? I need to go buy more today.

pickle162 · 21/09/2016 18:29

Glad u aren't infested with the lurgy kwick - I thought the hycosy was just checking the tubes didn't realise that they clear them out etc so my point earlier seems a bit stupid Blush but all done now.
What is micro needle roller? Hope Af starts soon.
How's everyone else getting on? I'm so sleepy I was awake for hours this morning worrying about someone zzzzz

kwick · 21/09/2016 20:01

So I have been taking 300mg of Coenzyme q10 but when I checked my notes from "it starts with the egg" I should have been on 600mg a day.

AF is here - wish it had come before I used up another HPT Angry oh well now I can get hycosy organised (day 6-15) and then move on.
pickle Dr explained that sometimes there can be mucus blockages which will get cleared. I also now understand why they do baseline scans - only a year later!
Micro needle roller for the face - may be my next beauty fad - if does not hurt too much!!! Small needles puncture skin - supposed to increase collagen production and rejuvenate. Also helpful for blackheads - apparently!

So put on a pair of socks and my feet have flared up so I guess it is the washing powder - glad I switched to Ecover yesterday... But what socks am I gonna wear tonight?

Who you been worrying about pickle? Enjoy your time off and get some zs in!

Someone that was very poorly and was just going over and over whether I could have helped any more.
Ah ok, that makes sense-well fingers crossed that helps to get that long await bubs!

Sooo on TLC on mon at 9pm a new show on called "extraordinary pregancies" is starting, have set sky up to tape

INeedNewShoes · 21/09/2016 20:36

Kwick - I've joined the 5mg folate club. One of my (three!) blood oddities means that I might regenerate my bone marrow too quickly thus depleting my folate levels quicker than normal so I've been told to take 5mg.

I have to admit I'm planning on a halfway compromise as I can't get my head around jumping from 400mcg to 5000mcg. So I bought a bottle of Solgar 1000mcg folate today (£17 for 60 Confused ) and have decided to take two in the morning and one in the evening up to 12 weeks, then I'll reduce it a little.

You're funny with your beauty things. You are the Miss Glamorous of the thread. I'm think I'll be Miss Frumpy Grin

pickle162 · 21/09/2016 21:08

I'm def little miss pijamas....wish I could live in them

INeedNewShoes · 21/09/2016 21:12

Shit do you think the Folate is making me itch? The dates coincide Confused

Here's the thing shoes I love all the products and makeup and so but I still am a complete scruff ball!!!

Ooooh pickle are you gonna go?

OP posts:
pickle162 · 22/09/2016 19:00

Not sure, can get in for free but the people That know either live miles away or are very heavily preg and could pop any sec so prob not :( I don't know how much would be new stuff but CARE clinic are going so didn't know if they would have any discounts going :)

pickle162 · 22/09/2016 19:02

Ooh possibly folate, if that's the only new thing!!! I'm so bad with tablets and coatings on them. Was reading the hefa fertility book called getting started and it said about taking folic acid 3months before starting treatment and thought oh poop hopefully this isn't one of the meds that make me poorly

kwick · 22/09/2016 19:31

What do you reckon? Should I stop taking it and see if itchiness goes away and then gradually reintroduce? I was on 5mg folic acid before... Maybe my body prefers the unpure stuff???
