Ah that's a good idea, less intense, gives your body a rest but whilst still loading it with magic potion

Lovelyholiday · 18/09/2016 10:25

oh Kwick Im so sorry to hear, take care and keep strong Flowers

Latenightreader · 18/09/2016 13:40

Oh I am sorry to hear that kwick. Was hoping someone would get good news this month!

pickle162 · 18/09/2016 22:20

So my lovely little ladies I need help, been thinking of questions for when I visit the clinic-see pic, can you think of anything else that is important to ask?I don't want to forget anything. They can't be too clinical as this is a general show round with the admin lady not a consultant appointment.
Thank you in advance Star x

pickle I also have a list of question for my appt in a few weeks. I think the ones you have listed are the main ones. There's a bunch of other things to inquire about at your next visit. I would probably ask who your point of contact will be and hue long it will take to get back to you should you have any questions.

pickle162 · 19/09/2016 06:43

Ooh thanks karen that's a good one

Latenightreader · 19/09/2016 13:38

As well as treatment and appointment prices, ask about how they prefer payment to be made - invoicing/card/bank transfer etc. Do you have to pay all at once, or can you pay in installments.

Also check exactly what the prices include - I was caught out by an additional £45 at one point for a blood test.

pickle162 · 19/09/2016 15:44

Ooh good question Halo, I will add onto my list :)
Thank you, knew there would be bits that I would forget

kwick · 19/09/2016 19:36

pickle you have the nicest writing EVER!! I am very Envy
You might want to ask how decisions on your treatment are made - just your consultant or a group effort?
Who treats you when consultant not there?

So it looks like they actually want to talk to me about the first donor I used - They have probably just discovered he has an infectious disease and I have it too.
TBH my skin feels like it is on fire - new found sore point discovered yesterday pm under boobage... Has to be covered in barrier cream to stop the itching.

I had to fight to get an appointment with my new consultant this week - they tried to fob me off until October?????? I was like: AngryAngryAngryAngry that is not going to work - have slot tomorrow pm Grin
Am shattered... Have been very teary today - guess it is sinking in that once again I am not preggers.
Nurse I spoke to to confirm BFN said I have 2 vials left of magic potion - so enough for 1 IUI or 2 IVF.... Lets see what Dr recommends.

Lol thanks kwick yes one of my positives is my handwriting Smile
Thanks for another question :)

Oh how strange, did they give any inkling on why they want to speak to you about the donor??? I'd be like tell me now biatch!!!
Glad you have an appointment for tomorrow!!! Mainly cos I can't wait to know what is happening with ur donor(!!!) but no seriously glad you get to talk about next moves. Let us know how u get on X
Big hugs on the tears thing, must be really quite shitty

pickle162 · 19/09/2016 20:02

Perhaps u should have kept your ovulation testing things.....let me know if u want them back or if i can get you some c

Karendvm · 19/09/2016 20:24

kwick all of that just blows. I really hope there isn't anything bad with your first donor. I am so sorry for your bfn. Do they do two inseminations per iui? I'm assuming so, if they need 2 vials. It's a hard decision. I know your iuis so far haven't worked, but at least from the ivfs you know that you are producing good eggs. Fingers crossed for everything for you. Hope tomorrow goes well.

INeedNewShoes · 19/09/2016 20:51

Argh! Kwick - that's rubbish. Good for you for fighting for an appointment next week. Maybe you should go to your GP to be checked over in the mean time?

INeedNewShoes · 19/09/2016 20:55

Pickle - I can't remember what approach you are thinking of taking, but if relevant I would ask whether they insist on any medication for IUI or whether they are happy for you to have a goat unmedicated first (unless your tests show up any hormone issues, you might try unmedicated as there's no point dealing with all the meds if it isn't necessary).

Oh and, yes, you do have very sweet handwriting Smile I wish mine was as neat!

pickle162 · 19/09/2016 21:20

They do both medicated and non medicated, I haven't really totally made my mind up yet what I would prefer-medicated may possibly make it easier for work to get dates (I may be making this up, don't totally understand)but will need to wait to see the consultant for those questions, they won't answer anything clinical (cos 1.its not her job but 2.this is a free appt so they limit what they tell u Hmm) but I will try and ask that in a nice vague way hehe. She knows I'm clinical for NHS (altho for very different things) so hopefully I can ask slightly more detailed questions and link it to getting time off work and try and suck out some more information Grin less than a week to go!!!!!!!
Thanks all you lovely ladies for your help x

kwick · 19/09/2016 21:21

pickle don't be silly - they are yours!!!
Not sure I will have donor answers - need to talk to embryologist for that.

karen I think they might use two vials for IUI depending on the quality but I cannot remember... Will take a look at my notes Confused

shoes yep GP visit beckons... Have developed another itchy spot on other foot... Angry

Maybe it is my washing powder? I am not any meds anymore so maybe it is something else Hmm

INeedNewShoes · 20/09/2016 09:08

Kwick - I've been thinking about your donor. If there is a problem like a possible infection your clinic should tell you now so that you can start treatment asap. You want to go to your GP with any relevant info really. Did you try demanding that the clinic tell you over the phone whatever the issue is?

kwick · 20/09/2016 14:25

shoes I will demand answers this afternoon - I am on my way to the FC now (have a work call b4 and after!!).
Think I will have a milk bath when I get in to try and calm skin down.
BTW are you getting Clexane on prescription? My FC charges £50 a box!

Latenightreader · 20/09/2016 14:48

Hope it goes well at the clinic kwick, and that the itching vanishes VERY soon.

Lovelyholiday · 20/09/2016 15:46

Hope you're appointment went well! Fingers crossed it's nothing too sinister re the donor!

CautionHormone · 20/09/2016 16:25

Hi ladies - sorry, again, for lack of posting. Been sooo busy it's unreal! Slowly getting back to full health; still not there yet, but won't be long now I'm sure.

How are you all doing?

Kwick I was heartbroken to see you got a BFN Sad that's so gutting. Good idea about trying IUI though - it may be the break your body needs?

Pickle, I'm so excited to hear that you've got your appointment booked. You'll love it, because it'll feel like you've finally got the ball rolling!

Shoes how's everything going with you? I've read back as far as I can, and saw you were worrying about having a scan at 7 weeks... did you have it/are you still having it?

How's everyone else? :)

I've still got some weight to shift before I can even think about doing treatment. I have everything else (money, work, etc) sorted, it's just losing this stone/stone and a half that's holding me back!!! Driving me up the wall because knowing I can go ahead, but I can't because of something as simple as being a bit overweight is making me so twitchy and aggy. It's not exactly been the first thing on my mind either, having been poorly, but it will be now!

Hope you're all having a lovely Tuesday. X

Karendvm · 20/09/2016 16:46

Finally got a positive opk! Cd16. Which is super late but at least it happened. Also had acupuncture today, which was lovely. Feeling more positive about my first appointment with my new re next week. Hope everyone's doing well!

kwick I'm thinking about you. Hope your appointment went ok.

INeedNewShoes · 20/09/2016 17:44

Kwick - I hope the clinic were helpful today. I do get my heparin (though a nasty cheap version called Fragmin) on the NHS so if you can prove you need it once you're pregnant hopefully your obstetrician might prescribe it.

Hello Caution - the 7 week scan would have been tomorrow but I cancelled it. My consultant isn't fussed so all is well (I was worried they might insist on the scan as part of the heparin protocol). I'll have the standard dating scan at 12 weeks or thereabouts. My midwife is trying to organise it slightly early for 20th October (11 weeks) which I'd be happy with.

Good for you for getting everything lined up to start the process. I highly recommend walking every day as part of your weight loss efforts. Walking a couple of miles a day at a brisk pace makes quite a difference to my weight (and my mental well-being) Smile

Karen - hooray for your positive OPK Smile CD16 is within the normal range (as long as your cycle is more than 29 days I think) so that should bode well.

Pickle - I felt the same re unmedicated IUI. May as well do it that way if you can - less faff and fewer hormones to meddle with you and I think the difference in success rate is minimal.

Hope everyone has a nice evening Smile

kwick · 20/09/2016 19:16

Ladies I just had a bit of an "episode" in the bath... Itchiness has progressed to feet - which is excruciating as when I scratch it tickles. I made the executive decision to use the cortizone cream I had to use after MC (when my tummy was covered in a horrid itchy rash), and I hope this alongside the calamine lotion will help calm things down.

Had a good long chat with consultant - she did lots of looking at my previous attempts and we looked at different options. She was very surprised the embryo did not "stick" - could be another bodily rejection due to chromosonal issues down to my age.
BIG REGRET: not doing hycosy at start of my journey - I let my PMA persuade me not to bother. Anyhoo c'est la vie and we have decided that is my next step - so will book for that once AF arrives to do between day 6-15. Then the cycle after I will do a natural IUI.
Still do not know what issue is with previous donor (shoes please do not shout at me!) - embryologist was not there - she will call me tomorrow.

I hope I am not coming across "all woe is me"... I had a bit of a cry at the clinic with a lovely nurse (when I was handing over my sharps boxes)... Hopefully that has helped to get sadness out of my system... Onwards and upwards!!!!

pickle you watching Masterchef Australia? I am loving it Grin

OP posts:
pickle162 · 20/09/2016 19:35

kwick Will be good to have the hycosy but seriously would u have done anything different?nope you still would have done as many treatments as possible to get to ur dream so don't beat yourself up about not doing that earlier :)
Yes totally watching masterchef, I am one episode behind and was very sad when the last person went home, she was so cute!
I am now off work until next tue (well now have to go into a meeting on Monday pm) but yay almost 6days off yipppppreeeereee
