Congratulations kwick
The only things I did religiously was drink lots and have a great nights sleep. I kept active during the day with work and walking the dogs.
I also tried not to stress too much ;)

I hope your 2ww passes quickly.

Late I hope today went without any hiccups and you are feeling positive.

Both you ladies have a relaxing weekend filled with movies and yummy food.

Lovelyholiday · 02/09/2016 17:49

shoes How are you feeling? Hopefully you are managing to find time to relax and enjoy that positive result.
I was so anxious at first, beginning to feel a little better now (although nausea is rearing its head, which has wiped today out!)

Karendvm · 02/09/2016 18:05

So happy it went well kwick. Hope you have a very quiet and enjoyable weekend.

pickle162 · 02/09/2016 18:20

Hahahaha well keep thinking of that, it'll make u laugh lots thinking about the singing!! :)
Yeh HQ does look different! I love miles, he was such a cutie and by far worked more like he could keep up with masterchef not someone that made butter twice before she could whip her cream!
Im just catching up on project runway then will be moving on to last nights episode.

kwick · 02/09/2016 18:39

Nice pineapples Grin

Hello Lovely - You might regret asking how I'm feeling! I have had a stressful day work-wise and whereas I'm usually quite good at feeling calm and upbeat even if there's something stressful going on, today I feel bleak and grumpy. I think the misly dark weather today hasn't helped. But actually, I'm also wondering if it's a shift in hormones that has had this effect, so I'm hoping that I will wake up tomorrow feeling brighter Smile

I off out for dinner with a friend now, so unbeknownst to her, her task is to cheer me up!

Lovelyholiday · 02/09/2016 19:25

Shoes Im with you on the just general meh feeling! So much so when i phoned the clinic to tell them it was positive, they said..'you don't sound very happy about it!!' (Of course i was happy just a hormonal, stressed out worrier!)
Hope you have a lovely meal out and a very chilled weekend ahead :)

kwick · 02/09/2016 19:55

Sorry about grimness - moi aussi!! I think it is the weather. Here's to a brighter tomorrow.

The difference between this time and the last was incredible - all your good vibes must have been working! The lovely doctor took her time, found the uterus first on the scanner ("Oh my goodness, that's really retroverted" said the sonographer), and then spent a little while bending the cathetar into the right shape, working her way around while also looking at the screen ("I think we need a map" said the sonographer), and finally got it inserted pain free. No cramping or pinching, no bleeding, no clips used, no stabbing or prodding - the worst bit was putting in the speculum! It was amazing.

I floated home with a big smile on my face. Now I know it can be done so even if I have to have another go, I know I don't need to dread it! I've just eaten some peas covered in cayenne pepper, and am about to have a slice of pineapple while I watch something relaxing. Thank you so much everyone who has thought of me today, it really helped knowing I wasn't alone.

pickle162 · 02/09/2016 20:39

late I am so happy for you sweetheart!! Really pleased you had such a good experience!!!! Thank goodness for that amazing doctor! Hopefully you won't need anymore tho!!! Bet u are floating on air :) have a lovely evening x

Just caught up on the last 24 hours on here!

kwick The TWW starts here! The 16th feels like a very long time away, doesn't it... Hope you sleep much better tonight.

shoes I hope you have a brighter day tomorrow.

lovely Hope you are able to relax and that the nausea isn't too overwhelming.

Thanks pickle - I have no problem with seeing that twice!

I have read through all the food advice on here - not sure I'll manage the eggs, but I will work on the rest. I had a pizza for dinner, but am going to eat a bit better tomorrow...

INeedNewShoes · 02/09/2016 22:20

Late - brilliant to hear that everything went smoothly today Smile

I hope everyone's chilling out having relaxing evenings.

I feel a lot less stressed after my little evening out. I've come home and dealt with a couple of work things but now I am going to bed! A good 8 hours' sleep will hopefully make everything seem more possible tomorrow Smile

kwick · 03/09/2016 06:54

Glad you are feeling more up shoes

TMI alert: the suppository that I had to have before and after the ET (voltarol) has given me diarrhea Envy also had ragging acid - must have been the sugar overload... But in between all that I slept well. I am going to try and have a second sleep.

late my OTD is 18 September!!!! AGES away!

I would ease up on the Cayenne while your stomach is unsettled Kwick

Do you know that ginger, garlic and turmeric all do a similar job on blood flow as cayenne?

I made a huge pan of curry earlier this week packing it full of all of this stuff - it's very tasty too, if I might say so myself Grin

The sun has come back!! I'm off out for a walk while it's nice.

kwick · 03/09/2016 10:44

Just had mega does of cayenne before I saw your message shoes! Oh well at least I am not constipated - which I was told to avoid.

What a morning!!! Could not find my meds... Hunted high and low, thought I was going mad, got an emergency appointment at clinic, just when I was about to leave, found where I had stashed them... !!!!! Oh well all is well that ends well!

Well done on your curry shoes.
I love that the sun is out again - we will be off to the allotment soon.

Late That's excellent news, what a difference. Now look after yourself for the next 2 weeks

Shoes glad your feeling brighter today....heavens have opened here, so duvet day is calling my name!

pickle162 · 03/09/2016 18:29

So I feel I can only discuss this with u guys as everyone in real life will think I'm a nutcase. So I really really want this travel system. I've been searching internet every day for it on offer or on eBay etc. I've found it somewhere that I can get £50 off(cheaper than in the pic). I don't really want second hand and don't trust that people won't sell a dodgy one just to make some money. I know I don't need to buy this now but it could live in my loft. Usually I would have another holiday in sept which I'm not doing so could put the money towards this instead. Am I totally insane (feel free to be very honest) I don't want to jinx anything but what if they stop selling etc etc. I've got the definite I WANTS arghhhhh

INeedNewShoes · 04/09/2016 01:04

Pickle - in the kindest possible way, I do think it would be daft for you to make such a big purchase at this stage.

A few of us on this thread are showing that it's not always straightforward. I would advise going into this expecting it to take multiple attempts to get pregnant. Time creeps on with every attempt.

Just from a totally practical point of view, every year the safety of car seats improves so it makes sense to buy the car seat at the last minute.

On more of an emotional level, I can't help but think that the moment you got pregnant you would start imagining putting that baby in that pushchair. If you miscarried, you might regret not being able to do everything afresh for your next pregnancy.

Another point, I would never buy a car seat over the internet unless it was to order it via a reputable retailer like John Lewis. The safety of the car seat trumps any £50 saving on a purchase through eBay.

Sorry - I am being very blunt Flowers but in short, yes I do think it would be slightly insane!

I'll be interested to see what the others say because I know that I am particularly cautious and it might be that I'm being a kill joy!

pickle162 · 04/09/2016 01:16

Lol, nah I needed someone to tell me straight and to tell me to stop being a lunatic. It wasnt on eBay, it is a reputable brand and company just had found a voucher code. but totally agree with new vs eBay for stuff like that.
That's why I'm trying to save save save as don't expect it to happen first time, life don't work like that unfortunately. I think I'm just going mad with broody hormones that wanting stuff like that brings me one step
closer but just got to focus on saving and that money can go on tests/ towards procedure and making a baby
Thank you for snapping me out of my craziness Starx

Lovelyholiday · 04/09/2016 06:04

I Completely agree with every point shoes has made. Making a purchase online like this is like seeing a car you think looks nice, buying it without taking it for a test drive, then regretting it as it might not run as smoothly as you imagined in your head. You really need to test drive pushchairs as not one suits all. The car seat needs to be fitted for your car too, again not all seats suit every car. You need to visit a specialist so they can fit it safely for you. (think also ease of collapsing, boot space etc)
Lastly your tastes could very well change once pregnant and know what you are having. Personally I think the design is very feminine (not that it really matters) but you might think differently if you have a boy.

All that aside I think its lovely how excited and positive you are, channel ii maybe into getting your house baby friendly and complete work you've been meaning to do but putting off, or just enjoying your freedom for a little while and give yourself some well deserved treats :)

kwick · 04/09/2016 08:26

shoes you are so eloquent - thank you for putting into words what I could not.

pickle one of the most painful things I had to do when I MC was put away the baby books I had got... They are tucked away out of sight under my bed and all came from charity shops so low investment but nontheless such a pang. Now I do not think I will get anything until way past 12 weeks and then only more books.

OP posts:
pickle162 · 04/09/2016 08:43

Ooh really I totally think it's more boy like., weird how we all see things differently :)
I totally get your points and I don't mean this to come across sarc-y but I haven't just looked at it and gone woah I like the design, it has won awards for safety, lightweight and collapses flat. I realise I look like some crazy loon but equally I'm also someone that researches the hell out of everything before I get it and I have seen it in morhercare (not the same design) when looking with my bestie for travel systems and read reviews & john Lewis do also stock.
I completely agree it isn't the best time to buy it, I just needed to snap out of the "I wants".
for 10years I've been looking after different babies and being the babysitter for everyone and the "best adopted auntie" I'm fed up of this, I know it isn't going to be a bundle of laughs but being a mum is something I've always wanted to be. I've done all the house as only moved in 2yrs ago hence why every penny I had has gone in to new carpets, painting the whole house,£6k on a new garden etc....whilst this is lovely it's meant that I had to wait an extra 18months before I could even start on this process, so to make your mind up and again research the hell out procedures and go to conferences about it and then have to patiently Wait over 18months before your even vaguely going to have enough, it's a killer and that time you see yet another friend or relative get pregnant and you just get older, it really gets you down so I may just look like a little weirdo on the side lines of all of you actively trying but last sept when I first joined gave me so much extra info and urge of like wow there are others in the world in a similar situation, you can do it too and sometimes silly things like travel systems keeps that momentum going of you can do this. Every spare money I have goes towards the baby fund so unless it's to do with baby it doesn't come out of that pot so yes it would be lovely to treat myself but actually saving up and being able to start in May will be the best gift in the world and altho it's going to be really hard the (fingers crossed) result that comes from the effort will pay off. I have a countdown app that tells me how long I have to go till I can start and the fact that it's down from 18months to just over 8 months is fab! I can start planning clinic free visits and then starting tests in time for May.
Sorry if that came across as a bit of a rant. clearly needed to get it out there.

Thanks guys anyway it has snapped me out of buying and having to struggle up into the loft to store it for another yr+ (altho I would have used it for the 2new babies that are due in around 4 weeks, but I think even that is so I can feel nearer to having my own one and not getting the "do you have children too" comment from everyone, "oh you need to get cracking" bla bla bla)
went out to an engagement party last night, took £25 out and only spent £5 and thought wayhay another £20 to go in the baby pot. Every little counts Star
