Morning how are we all today?
We didnt manage to DTD yesterday, Friday nights are killer as both so tired so just wasnt up to it. We did it the night before and will do again today. Hopefully the the every other day strategy works. Had really bad cramping late last night like period pain but wasn't really specified to one side.

It is so difficult to pin point the exact moment the egg is realised, such a guessing game.

Another person I know declared they were pregnant, that's three in the space of a week, talk about taunting us!!

Anyway keeping positive but who knows! Glad I have the forum for support, its so tough trying to go through the motions, but its nice to have other people in the same boat!! Thanks guys!!

looby1304 · 20/08/2016 07:35

shoney I know exactly what you mean - I've just had the second friend announce their pregnancy this week too! Obviously I'm happy for them but it really doesn't make my attempts not to symptom spot any easier when they start talking about how they're feeling!

Johno85 · 20/08/2016 07:58

Hey cookie love. I really feel for you; I can't imagine how i would feel if my best friend got Preggo when I had been trying too. At one point my big sister was toying with the idea of ttc #4 and secretly I really hoped she wouldn't. I think it's totally understandable to have mixed emotions, we're only human after all.

Sounds like you've got all bases covered as far as tests and referrals go. Like I said, depending on DH swimmers check I'll probably be not far behind you. Good luck with dtd and catching the egg. My friend had PCOS and was all set up for fertility treatment then amazingly got pregnant naturally. Fx the egg sets up camp soon for you

Hey shoney. I always think of a missed dtd opportunity as "quality control", you know make sure the swimming are ready for the next race Grinwhat cd are you now? Sorry if you've mentioned before but do you temp?

Hugs for you louby. All of our time will come. I guess we just have to remember that the friends/family/colleagues may have had similar ttc journeys as all of us here.

Soooooo I have a confession to make. I caved and bbt this morning. I was just intrigued to see what it was and if I have in fact ov.

My cover line bbt last cycle was 36.25. Bbt today was 37.11. The only time it has ever been that high was last cycle at 10dpo. From ov symptoms I'm guessing I may be about 7dpo.

Ignoring my moment of weakness, do you ladies think I can assume that I defo ov and am in the tww?

Shoney85 · 20/08/2016 08:11

hey Johno85 i am on CD21, I do take my BBT every morning but I am not sure I get the same time every day (maybe even 10 mins apart depending on what time I wake up) so not sure the results are helping much.

Johno85 · 20/08/2016 08:26

Hi shoney. I'd say that's an alright time gap tbh. I think it's if you take it over 30-60 mins different ff won't include it. Have you got a chart you can post?

Shoney85 · 20/08/2016 08:46

Here it is on FF, however the lowest one was me forgotten to take my BBT when I first woke up. So you could discard that.

Morning ladies, busy forum the past few days!

So I'm on my second day of no symptoms at all now and pretty much no cm at all! Pretty gutted actually as symptoms usually mean something is happening in there. I've got no symptoms to spot! X

Seven0fNine · 20/08/2016 12:12

Johno How does your DH feel about going to the doctors to get his swimmers checked? I can't even get mine to go for ear ache!!

Crying and getting really annoyed this morning at silly things (like my neighbours gate!?) so I'm hoping that it's a sign af is on her way before I have a complete melt down!!

Shoney85 · 20/08/2016 13:07

Very confused, on Thursday I had definite pains in my right side, was really bad. I had my positive opk Thursday night and Friday dinner time. Friday supper time it wasnt far off positive and today a little lighter again but still a definite line. Had some earlier normal cramps and nausea. But just now I have pains in my left side, I think it might be lower down but def feel it.

BoBo90 · 20/08/2016 13:29

I've booked my appointment at the gp for first week in September 😣 Let's see if I can actually get them to do something without resorting to tears!

Haha seven I was like that last cycle! Fx she turns up for you soon and the it emotions calm down 😆

Shoney don't worry that's normal! The egg can release up to 36 hrs after a positive Opk so that might be why the pain is! Also the side of the pain can have no relation to what side the egg is released from! You have to keep dtd for a few days after a positive so keep going For a bit longer 😉 Xxx

Shoney85 · 20/08/2016 13:54

OK thanks BoBo90 after being on the pill for over tens years, feel like I'm having to learn all this again. Still trying to understand how my body works lol

Johno85 · 20/08/2016 14:26

Oh seven bless you love, hope you're feeling a bit more chipper soon. It was DH idea actually. Mainly because this is month 8 of ttc. Also he's a chef so apparently having his nether region near hot stoves all day can affect swimmer mobility.

He also has a cyst on one of his balls manly bits from a bmx accident when he was much younger. Said he had it all checked out then and it was fine. They didn't want to remove it incase it didn't got to plan and they had to remove it completely leaving him with one. I think he just wants to know his little fellas are putting up a good fight.

shoney your chart is a bit rocky but i would take a guess at the fact you ov on day 16, however you have to have a fair few consistent raised temps to confirm ov.

Seven0fNine · 20/08/2016 22:25

Ooh thanks guys. Still waiting and feeling irritable but nothing curling up in bed with a glass of wine, mint magnum and star trek won't fix! (onto ds9 now...not as good as voyager but apparently it gets better)

Lol at Johno - chefs whites are ridiculously hot, no good for his bits and pieces...my DH is insisting on keeping his as cool as possible with some rather undesirable baggy undercrackers (ewww haha way tmi) not sexy!!

Fx for your appointment BoBo xxx

MoonlightMojitos · 21/08/2016 09:37

Fx for you bobo hopefully they get the ball rolling for you.

Why does time go so slowly when ttc? I feel like my life is counting down weeks til ov then counting down tww... 2 weeks is a very long time when you're counting! Cd 11 for me today...

looby1304 · 21/08/2016 09:45

I think AF is on its way for me Sad
Brown spotting this morning which normally starts a few days before. I am however only cd22 of a usual 28-30 day cycle. I'm still holding out a tiny bit of hope that it's a bit of implantation bleeding (approx 10 dpo) but I think that's very unlikely unless it looks exactly the same as my pre-AF spotting!
Don't you just love the ups, downs and confusion of ttc!

Johno85 · 21/08/2016 09:53

Hey looby. 10dpo could still be implantation. Fingers crossed for you. Normally luteal phases are pretty consistent- how long are yours normally?

moonlight tell me about it- still feeling a bit cheated that my cycles are still so irregular- if I had a "normal" cycle length I would have twice as much chance of conceiving. I basically have a 4 week wait for ov then the 2ww.

Does anyone consider with 35+ cycles that although for example like me you've been ttc for 8 months you actually may have only ov 4-5 times and had those chances of catching the egg? Maybe this is too much thinking for a Sunday morning!

Anyone testing this weekend? X

BoBo90 · 21/08/2016 09:59

Moonlight I know exactly what you mean! I feel like the whole year has gone by without me paying much attention because I'm so focused in cycle times as test dates. And when you get a bfn you wish away the next cycle so you can test again forgetting that's a whole month of your life your ignoring!! Crazy!

Looby that sucks but you're not out yet! How long is you lp normally? If your 10dpo now and still have another 6-8 days to go that's a very long lp! X

OP posts:
looby1304 · 21/08/2016 10:18

It's hard to know exactly, I'm only on my third proper cycle stopping the pill and they've all been slightly different so far. I'm just going with what ovia is saying but now you've mentioned it my luteal phase would be very long if it's right this time. I'll just have to wait and see I suppose!

MoonlightMojitos · 21/08/2016 11:52

johno you're right, I suppose someone could have been ttc for the same time as you but had more chances at catching the egg with shorter cycles. Do you know if there's anything you can take to help with that? Like how there is meds for lengthening lp surely there is something to shorten the first bit so you're not waiting so long in between?

bobo it's quite sad when you put it that way! I feel that maybe now I should be cramming in more stuff I won't be able to do when pg to make the most of it and have things to look forward to and fill the time waiting. Maybe we should book a skydive lol or... wine tasting. I've wanted to do that for a while!

looby don't count yourself out yet, fx for you. Who knows what's going on in there!

sarahhh1984 · 21/08/2016 11:58

I'm sure some of you have looked into this already but for those who haven't, when I was researching which prenatal vitamins to take I saw a lot of women picked Seven Seas Trying For A Baby because it was recommended that it would regulate their cycle by their GPs. A lot seemed to find it did as well. Obviously everyone is different so what works for one may not work for another but if you haven't tried it yet it may help.

Sorry to hear so many of you are feeling down at the moment. Fx for you all. x

MoonlightMojitos · 21/08/2016 12:01

I met up with a friend yesterday who knows I'm ttc and she told me her sister in law just told her that they're trying too. She was a bit freaked out because that's 2 of us now and no one we know has children yet and she's personally no where near ready. Obviously That's fine were still quite young and she's focusing on her career but I think she just doesn't want to get left behind. All I could think it's that it's her birthday party in October and if I see her SIL not drinking I will presume she's pg and I will be heartbroken because I would have been more than 20 weeks then if I hadn't had the mc. It was weird that I felt so angry at her SIL trying... obviously it's not just me and us on here that want a baby but it's a bit weird to hear in real life when you're trying so hard.

MoonlightMojitos · 21/08/2016 12:07

I think it doesn't help that I realised this week I'd be 12 weeks so having the first scan. I'm trying not to be down about it but it's still very shit. Anyway, sorry to bring the mood down ladies needed to vent! Onwards and upwards and all that. Going to dtd as much as possible this month, that's all we can do!

MoonlightMojitos · 21/08/2016 12:14

Sorry to flood this thread girls! But johno what have tried out of interest? I've just done a quick Google on supplements when ttc and I'm very interested to see flaxseed and b6 pop up for regulating cycles. I've been taking b complex for about 6 months (since before I came off the pill) for my hair and nails so I wonder if that had a part to play in my regular cycles once I stopped taking the pill? I also have flaxseed every day on my granola for breakfast for othrr health benefits and again I had no idea that it can help with cycles.

Johno85 · 21/08/2016 13:27

Hey moonlight I think everyone on here can empathise with you. When you're ttc it just seems like everyone is bloody up the duff! The thing that makes me have to grit my teeth is when someone says "oh and we weren't even trying, hahaha", cue punch in the face gulp of wine shot of tequila!

I tried the pregnecare stuff but read lots of things saying not to take it. I therefore switched back to seven seas and have been taking it for ages. I also take agnus castus- the first cycle I took it was my shortest at 31 days and I was really optimistic but have since had longer cycles. Instead of stopping when I think I've ov I'm just going to take it until AF arrives or BFP. There's so much conflicting advice about AC and I've tried it one way so thought no harm in trying the other.

My theory was if I shortened my overall cycle that would have to shorten my follicular phase- however I never seem to ov any earlier that cd19.

I've had a chilled morning pottering about the house and prepping dinner. Now the sun has come out I'm gonna take myself out for a nice long walk, put my headphones in and forget about everything for a bit.

bobo you're exactly right, I had a long think about wishing away my weeks ttc when I was on holiday. And although I'm a little fed up from time to time I've decided to stop stressing and enjoy everything else and realise ttc is just a little (albeit important) part of my life.

Sending cyber hugs to everyone today X

Shoney85 · 21/08/2016 19:21

Evening ladies

Just managed last night and no more, think we are both dtd out haha, def wont mange tonight but think we have done an ok job. Been at it every second day since 7th August. I have been feeling a bit crappy this afternoon, still sore boobs/nipples, nausea and cramps. Took the last opk today and a def negative so the two week wait is on. We are away for the weekend 2nd September so will test that day but not holding out much hope to be honest.

If it doesn't work we will be better at it next month because we will have the tests to give us a clear picture of when to start dtd rather than doing it all the time and save our energy.

Hope everyone has a good week.
