Unfortunately I know that feeling too well Mrsunsure. Sad Its that feeling of helplessness that its out of my hands, and when I do think about it for too long the sadness does take over and overwhelm me. Maybe take a couple of months just to focus on doing things you enjoy and being happy again, and maybe consider in the future if you would try IUI or IVF. You will get there xx

Friendly, sorry to hear you also had a sad weekend. Interesting to hear about the ovulation induction and timed intercourse rather than IVF, its so frustrating that all clinics don't give us all the options available, esp when its such a big decision. Disappointing to hear about the success rates of Create, they shouldn't be allowed to advertise those rates without telling you the catch but atleast you found out before you agreed to go ahead with it. What clinic was this one you went to?

Mrsunsure, I know how upsetting this whole ttc thing is but if it is really affecting you to the point you can't eat/sleep I think maybe you should pop along to your GP to see if they can refer you to a fertility counsellor or whatever else they suggest, your own wellbeing has to come first. Flowers I know when I feel truly overwhelmed by things it seems to help by having a few days away somewhere, away from 'real life' to take a step back to clear my head and look at things afresh. I hope you're ok and your DH is taking good care of you xx

I think it is a great idea to speak to a counsellor Mrs, it certainly won't do any harm and I think it's really important to get some extra support during this time as it can be a very lonely and isolating experience. I think it really helps to be open with your friends and family too as you need as much support as possible. I was in two minds whether to tell my mum about us not having any luck conceiving and that IVF is looking likely but so glad I spoke to her, she was amazing.

For the first time in a very long time I'm actually looking forward to getting AF so I can start a cycle of ovulation induction and monitoring. Sunshine, I'm going to the Lister hospital in South London x

All has gone quiet, hope everyone is ok? Popping by to let you know I have had a healthy baby boy born 8lb 5oz by emcs last week. Can't believe he is here and I thank you all for your support in getting to this stage. Don't lose hope x

ocelot41 · 22/07/2016 06:23

Just popping on so pls forgive me for not having RTFT. I had a short lp of 7 days and the tests showed up nothing. A doctor told me that there were clinical trials going on involving skipping anything with artificial sweeteners or skimmed milk in it. His advice was Vitamin B complex, full fat butter and milk, and a little full fat ice cream every day. Sounded insane to me but we had been trying for two years by that point so I was willing to give anything a go. LP crept up from 7 to 9 days in first two months, then 9-11 days. I never got it to go higher but it was enough to conceive DS. My heart goes out to you all - it is so misunderstood and so frustratingFlowers

Hi everyone, sorry for being quiet. Congratulations Mascara; that is wonderful news to read this morning! I hope you are both doing well and you're enjoying getting to know your little boy. Thank you again for all you advice and support x

Ocelot, that is really interesting. I've also read that full fat dairy is good for fertility so there must be something in it. You were very lucky to get an understanding doctor and congratulations on DS x

After looking in to ovulation induction/IUI, I decided to go for IVF at the Lister hospital and am starting this cycle. Chances of conceiving are about 10% with IUI but nearer 45% with IVF. I'm really nervous as will be devastated if it doesn't work but I feel like time isn't on my side and I just want to get on with it. Wish me luck!

Sunshine/Mrs, thinking of you and hope you are doing ok x

mascaraisamust · 22/07/2016 08:29

Friendly I wish you all the luck in the world! The odds are 20% (1/5) in an natural cycle remember that x

Congratulations Mrs! That is really great news, I'm so pleased for you. Just shows what a positive mindset can do! I wonder if the acupuncture helped too. Keeping my fingers crossed that everything works out for you. I'm about to start my cycle of IVF so excited to get going but also terrified of it not working. Hopefully your positive mindset will rub off in me :) xx

Thank you Mrs, I really appreciate it. I'm starting up acupuncture again next week so I hope that will help. So happy you got you BFP, take good care of yourself xx

sunshinegirl12 · 28/07/2016 17:37

Wow, I've really missed a lot on here!!

Mascara, huge congratulations on the safe arrival of your little boy, I hope everythings going well.

And also huge congrats to you Mrsunsure, how many dpo were u when you tested? Do you think the cyclogest helped? Really hoping it all works out for you.

Friendly, wishing you lots and lots of luck with the IVF, I would really appreciate it if you could keep me updated with how often you need to go into the clinic and what for etc as I will probably end up going down the same route but want to work out how to plan it with work. Keeping everything crossed for you. xx

Friendlycav · 28/07/2016 21:54

Thank you Sunshine. I promise I will give you a full update on everything including how often I needed to go to the clinic and what for. Hopefully it won't come to IVF for you but I'm more than happy to share my experiences if it helps you xx
