Sammy Flowers so glad your lines are a little darker. It took several days for my second line to be noticeably darker so it sounds good.

Id love to say the anxiety stops here but it doesn't; the happy bus is a juddering, nerve wracking journey at times. However women with even the most complex set of side effects get to hold a healthy baby. Hang in there

lucieloos · 14/07/2016 20:00

Sammy, I have to agree with Boris. I thought the IVF was stressful but the worry from actually being pregnant, spotting, bleeding, scans etc is something else! It's good that your line is darker. It could be that the lutigest is irritating your cervix that can quite often be the cause of early bleeding. It's impossible to tell for sure one way or another though and unfortunately the hard bit is waiting to see what happens which is all you can do really. Try not to stress although I know that probably impossible. Pink and brown blood are normally ok so just monitor it and see if it eases up at all. Thinking of you xx

Thanks Lucie.

Shouldn't the Lutigest be stopping any bleeding? I never got any bleeding with cyclogest even though it was bfn. I'm already on 3 Lutigest a day, but it is weaker than the cyclogest.

I was so happy this morning and now I feel worse than if it had been bfn. Do you think my clinic will do anything if I call and tell them? Or just get me to wait and see?

Sammy it's worth a try calling your clinic. I would call for sure.

lucieloos · 14/07/2016 20:20

No the progesterone won't stop all bleeding. It will stop your lining from shedding (although not indefinitely if there is no pregnancy) but it won't stop things like implantation bleeding from the embryo burrowing in or bleeding from your cervix if that is getting irritated. There's honestly lots of things that could cause light spotting which progesterone wouldn't have any effect on and it is more common in IVF as well.

From my experience it's will probably be a case of wait and see especially this early on. When I rung the NHS with bleeding a couple of weeks on from where you are they said there was nothing they could do it was too early for a scan and I asked about upping the progesterone and they said I was on max (although I think that's clinic dependent as I know Czech would have upped me) Are you able to use your pessaries in the back door and see if that helps? You could also look into getting a couple of hcg blood tests to see if the hcg is doubling as it should. Try not to worry it would probably disappear by tomorrow x

Oh and just wanted to say i agree with Boris I would definitely ring and tell your clinic tomorrow. They get people all the time testing early and getting bfp. Give them a ring just to let them know and hopefully they can put your mind at rest a little.

Thanks Lucie, I'm so sorry I'm being so me me me. I just can't think of anything else. I don't think the Lutigest can be used rectally. It's called a vaginal pessary, comes with an applicator and isn't waxy and pointy like the cyclogest.
I'll call them tomorrow. I'm at work and we're no longer allowed mobiles on desks so I think I'll have to let my manager know what's going on.

I bought a clear blue digi today ready to test in Tuesday. Now I feel like I jinxed everything :(.

lucieloos · 14/07/2016 20:43

Don't think like that Sammy, chances are that everything is fine. It is honestly so common. Are you able to sneak out to your car or to a quiet room for 5 minutes to call the clinic? That's what I normally do and no one notices.

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 14/07/2016 20:46

Yes I will be able to. They usually don't answer though so I end up leaving a message and they call back.

Sorry, I'll shut up now. Will update tomorrow. X

lucieloos · 14/07/2016 20:51

You don't have to shut up at all we are here to talk to you whenever you need it so if you're stressed or just want to talk or ask questions then carry on. That's what this thread is for after all. I really hope that by the morning it's all gone away and the clinic can reassure you. Keep us updated.

Oh sammy. Stress ahoy. As the others have said, there are so many things that could cause spotting. Definitely ring your clinic.

loopylou1984 · 15/07/2016 06:30

So this mornings test is darker than yesterday mornings and the FRER is a dark as the control line. I'm still bleeding though.

DH has been googling and keeps telling me how normal it is, but I just can't relax about this. I'm going to call my clinic and get some advice from them. I'm also going to have to fill my boss in so I'm allowed my phone out. Unless by some miracle I get through to the clinic first time of course.

loopylou1984 · 15/07/2016 06:31

Also thank you Lucie, I just felt like I was being irrationally pessimistic last night and didn't want to bring you all down.

Borisisback · 15/07/2016 06:50

Sammy and mpp abd everyone else please worry about needing to focus just on yourselves or your situations right now. Talk it out on here - I can't see anyone minding - it's why we are all here for you. Flowers

lucieloos · 15/07/2016 07:38

Good luck today Sammy, it's great your frer is darker. Has the spotting eased up at all? Maybe it's twins?!

OP posts:
star1980 · 15/07/2016 07:43

Flowers for you sammy for all the stress. I've heard so many examples of early pregnancy bleeding and perfectly healthy babies at the end of it. But I know how impossible it must be not to worry, so I just send hugs and hope it stops soon.

loopylou1984 · 15/07/2016 08:00

It's not eased up, it's worse. It's definitely more than spotting now. I'm so scared.

lucieloos · 15/07/2016 08:06

Aww big hugs Sammy. I meant to say lots of women have this around the time af would normally be due as well and it passes. Is it still pink? It could even be one of the embryos didn't take and you are losing that one. That's what one of the nurses suggested for me. So many things so try not to worry.

OP posts:
loopylou1984 · 15/07/2016 08:08

It was pink yesterday, but it's red now. I've left a message with reception and they will get a nurse to call me back.

I'm going in for a blood test at 2pm. Results won't be available until tomorrow. Got to go to work now, and I'm a blubbering mess after speaking to the nurses then DH. I feel like I'm on AF now. I don't think there's much hope.

lucieloos · 15/07/2016 08:31

Aww Sammy don't give up yet. Does the bleeding look like af? What did the nurse say? You need to try and have another blood test 48 hours later as its the doubling time that is important not the actual hcg level as we know you will have hcg in your system as you have a positive test so ask about booking another one when you go in x

Borisisback · 15/07/2016 08:49

Sammy I'm so sorry. Dont go into work or stay in work if you are feeling bad - give yourself time and space, it's a horrific roller coaster you are on. It's not definitely all over now for you as the others have said. X

bananafish81 · 15/07/2016 09:06

sammy just to echo what everyone has said already - we're all here for you and thinking of you Flowers

MPP I'm so sorry you have this stress and worry, can only imagine the anxiety this is causing. Should it comes to it, would a freeze all cycle be an option - a banking cycle wouldn't touch your cervix at all. Realise that would push back the possibility of being pregnant a little, but you'd feel you were making progress (plus there's a lot to be said for splitting up the cycle into fresh and FET...)

Lining scan this afternoon, presumably to see how much my lining hasn't grown. I've been being naughty and using the vaginal viagra I got from Serum's supplier in Malaysia, without telling my consultant. I'm not expecting anything, as my issue isn't blood flow - but figured it had to be worth a try. If by some miracle I have a beautiful cushiony lining, I won't know whether it's the patches or the viagra that made any difference, but tbh in that event it doesn't really matter!!
