Not been on mumsnet a lot recently and been popping in and out of this thread to keep an eye on you all - have no IVF advice unfortunately but been quietly cheering you all on... But wanted to say

SAMMY congratulations!!!! So thrilled for you! What wonderful news Grin eeee! X

MPP81 · 14/07/2016 08:46

I've been lurking too and soooo delighted to see your news this morning Sammy! CONGRATULATIONS!!! What amazing news Smile

Itsme247 · 14/07/2016 10:00

Quick update: On way to transfer, my two 9 cells got to blast so we have one to put in and one for the freezer :)

star1980 · 14/07/2016 10:08

Good luck for transfer itsme. Amazing you've got a good quality blast to freeze :)

Good luck for your scan tomorrow banana. So sorry you've been having all the bad news with your lining. Hoping the patches have done their job now.

Mpp, welome back! And congrats on passing your exam Smile Can't believe you're all go on ivf, that feels like it's come round fast! Good luck with starting stabbing - everything I've read says you get used to it very quickly! Fingers crossed you get a bfp first time.

Lucie and trixie, how are you both? Think you're getting started again soon too? Good luck!

As for me, the first round of Clomid didn't work and now 9dpo on round 2. Feeling completely normal and not pregnant, but I'll be on holiday in Italy next week which might take the edge off my period arriving. Definitely doing just one more round then moving straight to ivf as totally sick of this. Got baby bombed last night so feeling particularly rotten this morning.

InsufficientlyCaffeinated · 14/07/2016 10:09

Morning, mind if I pop myself down here quietly in the corner and join you? 13 months of trying now although had a mc at 11 weeks in Jan so this attempt since then has been 6 months, 13 in total, do I still count for this thread? I was on a TTC after MC thread but now it's been 6 months since my mc and it just feels like a distant memory so it doesn't feel right me posting on there anymore.

I have hypothyroidism, had it since birth and it's well managed but from what I've been reading that doesn't mean it can't cause any problems. Been putting off going back to the drs because I can't help but think I'm over-worrying and being melodramatic but I've decided if this isn't my month then it's about time I started the ball rolling on getting some investigations done.

MrsRen · 14/07/2016 10:16

Congratulations Sammy Flowersgreat news! X

LemonDrizzler · 14/07/2016 11:15

Congratulations sammy!! How exciting!

Good luck with your transfer itsme glad all went well.

Welcome caffeinated!

Not much new here. Still waiting for all the pre IVF blood test results as they lost them so had to do them again. Because why not wait a bit longer after 3 years? Grr!

MrsRen · 14/07/2016 11:32

Welcome insufficiently :-)

I've recently been to the docs as we'd hit the 12 month mark and it was fine so don't worry :-)

They've moved very quickly, I've already had 1 blood test and I've got an ultrasound today. I've been very impressed with how good they have been.

Sorry about your miscarriage, but it's a good sign you got pregnant so hopefully it will happen again for you soon but no harm getting a check up with the GP x

MPP81 · 14/07/2016 11:46

Right, I'm really sorry for the forthcoming lack of personals but I'm having yet another panic. I don't know if anyone can shed some light or has any advice...

I had a smear test two weeks ago and the results came today. No abnormal cells BUT positive for HPV and recommended a colposcopy to recheck for abnormal cells. I phoned the clinic and told them were due to start ivf next week and asked (through streaming bloody tears) if we should cancel. Was told to hold off cancelling and they'll try to fit me in next week for the colposcopy then if there were any abnormal cells we could decide if treatment is needed and when that would take place. So now I'm feeling bloody sad and confused. We've gotten to the point where the meds are sitting in my bloody bedroom, we've spent a pile of money on them, and we may not be able to go ahead? Not to mention the crushing disappointment if that's the case. I had abnormal cells removed nearly 8 years ago and yearly smears ever since that are completely fine and now a week before ivf, this happens! I just can't believe it.

I'm sorry for whining, especially in the face of Sammy's amazing news, but really needed to get this off my chest Sad

MrsRen · 14/07/2016 12:10

Oh MMP sorry to hear that. I to had abnormal cells about 11 years ago and had laser surgery to remove them. I know they say not to have treatment while pregnant but I'm not sure about during fertility treatment. Try not to think the worst but I know that is hard. Sorry that wasn't really much help x

lucieloos · 14/07/2016 12:32

Oh MPP I'm so sorry to hear that. Try not to worry at the moment everything could be ok when they check next week. Do you know how long the wait would be if you did need cells removed? Could you have it done privately if it's too long on the NHS? Your drugs are good for another 3 months so you have time even if you have to delay for a month or two but try to take it one step at a time xx

OP posts:
MPP81 · 14/07/2016 12:54

Thank you both. I think it depends what kind of cells they might find Lucie, but even then she did say that treatment could be delayed for pregnancy (as you can have the colposcopy when pregnant but then no treatment til 12 weeks after birth) so I assume she was saying we could have the option to say we wanted to go ahead with ivf, though I don't know what risks might be associated with that. They can apparently do some treatments on the day but you can't have sex for a few weeks afterwards so I would assume that would also rule out ivf. Other treatments you have to wait for an appointment and I've no idea how long that would be. I'm just feeling so down right now. It's moving out day today too and we were so happy and giggly, talking about how this time next year wed be in our new house and hopefully with a baby or one on the way, then the letter arrived and now I just can't be arsed with anything and im running through a pile of what-ifs. My sensible head says another delay isn't a big deal, and it would be better to get it all sorted first etc but I think because it's all arranged and we have the meds, it's made the disappointment of a potential delay even worse. Sad

Thanks for letting me vent.

lucieloos · 14/07/2016 13:07

Aww MPP see what they say first and then decide. Like you say maybe they can do something on the day and if the worst came to the worst you have to delay for another month or two. I know the waiting is hard but you will get there. Good luck with the house move today. Try and enjoy it. You still have every chance of being in the new place either with a baby or pregnant next year. This is just a little blip x

OP posts:
star1980 · 14/07/2016 13:48

Oh mpp, I understand how upsetting this must be and how disappointing if you have to delay. But Lucie is right, wait and see and even if you do have to delay a couple of months, it's just a blip and you will be on your way soon enough. Good luck with the house move! Flowers

loopylou1984 · 14/07/2016 17:58

I'm sorry to be so self centred, and I promise to read back. It's just I'm getting pink spotting. Have I got excited too soon? Is our happiness over after less than a day? I'm still on progesterone so surely shouldn't be bleeding? SadSadSad

MPP81 · 14/07/2016 18:43

Sammy, I've no idea about the progesterone but could it be implantation maybe? A few of the others have had spotting too, if i remember correctly. Please try not to worry (pretty stupid thing to say, I know). I have everything crossed for you and am thinking of you. Flowers

Thank you Lucie and star. I'm still stressing about it but guess I just have to wait and see.

Borisisback · 14/07/2016 18:54

Mpp - how distressing for you. I'm sorry I don't have any better advise myself but the other ladies comments sound really sensible. Really sorry you are going through this.

Sammy I know quite a few women on the pregnant after infertility thread have this and it can be fine - it can be due to a number of causes. So sorry you now have this stress.

lucieloos · 14/07/2016 18:58

Sammy, it can be normal to get spotting throughout pregnancy and especially in the early stages but I know how frightening it can be. I was going to ask if you had called your clinic to see what they say but then I guess you haven't told them yet. What progesterone are you on? At my clinic they will often suggest adding another pessary to see if that helps. How long have you had it for? Is it every time on wiping? Is it slowing up? It could still be a bit of implantation blood. The embryo will be snuggling in and getting cosy for a while so try not to panic.

loopylou1984 · 14/07/2016 19:13

Lucie - I'm on Lutigest which is different to last time. I only noticed it when I went to the loo when I got home at 5.30, and only when I wipe. I'm a bit sore down there and I'm finding it difficult to tell if it is coming from inside or if the outside is irritated. I was thinking I could call the clinic tomorrow, but I'm sure they'll just tell me I shouldn't have tested early :(. I wondered about implantation but its pink not brown like old blood.

Boris - thank you for that. It helps knowing others have had it. I can't believe less than a day and I'm off the happy bus Sad

MPP - I was sorry to read your news. When will you hear about the colposcopy appointment? X

loopylou1984 · 14/07/2016 19:15

This evenings bfp is much darker though.
