Anyone done or doing Clomid/ovidrel/IUI?

Would love to hear from anyone taking this route ttc. I'm DOR and dh has low morphology but an amazing count and motility. So whenever af shows up in two weeks or so I'm starting Clomid, then doing a hcg trigger injection and then IUI. Hoping for success getting 2-3 good eggs to drop and putting the swimmers practically next to them!

Thanks maple, we was transferred for fertility test after 18 months (fobbed off for awhile)It then took another 6 months to do two SA.The hospital we was referred to didn't do IUI so I just had a ultrasound, tranvaginal and hsg. Our doctors didn't take our MFI seriously, with them actually saying IVF, I think they are bypassing the IUI. I think we would be good candidates for it, slightly low count and low morphology.
Even if they won't fund it, we have a cycle in between our first appointment. So might be worth even going private for one try. Thanks maple.

Hi all, this thread has gone a bit quiet so not sure who's still lurking. Just wanted to update to say that our third and final Clomid cycle hasn't worked. Period turned up a day early. Onto ivf/icsi next. Pretty terrified.

Hope everyone is doing well and crossing my fingers for some good news for you soon.

Very sorry to hear that Star. I know how upsetting it is. Do they only recommend 3 cycles of clomid? Were you having clomid and IUI? Sorry if you've already explained.

Hi Mrs - good luck with your scan! Do you mind me asking how you conceived in the end? Did you use climid/IUI?

As for me, we did our first unmedicated IUI a week ago so I am exactly 1 week into the TWW. No symptoms at yet apart from feeling exhausted but I feel like that anyway! Would probably be too early for symptoms anyway. Going to very hard this week not to symptom spot as every month I convince myself I have symptoms and then AF arrives. I guess we have doubled our chances this month (dr said 20% chance of conceiving) but I still don't think we will be lucky so preparing myself for massive disappointed next Saturday when AF. Will be even worse this time knowing we have spent nearly 1.5k for nothing!!! Good luck all!

Thomasina you are a day ahead of me - I'm one week after IUI tomorrow!

Hi all, just a quick update from me. I'm on cd31 and no sign of af, I had two consecutive 5 day cycles of Clomid as I didn't respond to the first one and it seems it messed me up royally. Somehow I probably ovulated around the end of the second 5 days according to blood tests so we canceled the IUI. Luckily we dtd around that time so I'm just waiting to see if af shows up. Too nervous to test. Last cycle went from 25 to 28 days. Now I'm on 31. No signs of anything and I just feel like the Clomid messed me up this month. Ugh.

Mrsunsure, absolute best of luck to you in your scan, I can imagine you are very nervous. I'll never forget how nervous I was on dd1.

I'm out this month. Three months of Clomid 50mg haven''t worked. I ovulate on my own but it was late enough, day 18/19/20 and so my luteal phase was short. Clomid hasn't made me ovulate earlier. I'm being referred to a gyne now but it will take 6/8 weeks so the gp gave me another month of Clomid 50mg.

One thing I will do differently next month is stop taking Vitamin B Complex. Apparently vitamin B6 can delay ovulation but is important for lengthening the luteal phase (progesterone), so I'm going to leave taking it until after I ovulate and we will see if there is any difference.

Fingers crossed for you all. I don't know what my next step will be once I go to the gyne.

Hi ladies, just checking in with you all. Sorry for the absence, I have been busy studying but have still be keeping up with everyone.

Had my planning meeting this week, am due in for a scan on Thursday and plan is first IUI should be start of next week, likely to be Monday or Tuesday. Although they had some blood tests to do and legally if the results aren't in by IUI day then they can't proceed.

In other news DH and I have put our house on the market so it's just a matter of keeping our fingers crossed and hoping we can sell our house and don't get beat on the dream house.

Between exam, IUI and house there will be a lot of crossed fingers and toes over the next few weeks

Snow when do you think you will test? Fingers crossed this is the month for you!

Julia what is your average cycle length normally? Sorry AF got you hope your appointment comes round quickly and you have plenty of nice things to do to fill the time.

No news from me - am 1 week after IUI and not hopeful at all - have acupuncture tonight!

Still no af here cd 32 but I got the whitest of white bfn this morning so I know it's just af messing me around. So annoying as its thrown my whole next cycle out of whack. I'm in a very bad mood. I think I'll just go back to bed. 😖😣

Maple, do you have any signs at all? My only "symptoms" are exhaustion (I feel tired all the time anyway so doesn't mean anything) and boobs hurt slightly. Not reading anything into it as I have had this before and meant nothing. AF due on Sunday so I am guessing the earliest I could test if Thursday or Friday. HCG shot should be out of my system by then as well. Will probably NOT test though as can't stand the disappointment. Think it is best to wait for AF. Marginally less crushing. Are you in London? Where are you going for acupuncture?

Thomasina no symptoms! Been getting twinges in lower back and also abdomen but I'm not reading in to it as they started so early (about 4dpo)! Putting it down to gas! Also went to the docs worried I might have a uti in Friday as I kept needing the loo but test came back negative but again - too early to be a symptom - the IUI might have just aggravated something down there!
I'm not testing till I'm due either - I usually spot for 5-7 days before AF so expecting that to start soon anyway.
I can't stand the disappointment either!!

Sorry forgot to say yes I'm in London but moved out to zone 5 at the beginning of the year from zone 2. I got to acupuncture near my house.

Hey Maple! I also had an UTI and reckon it was due to all the poking around down there. Seems to be cured now. So is your AF due next Monday? Awful that we are so pessimistic! Had I not had 9 BFNs then I might be more hopeful :)

Yep I'm due to test Monday - although if I haven't started spotting then I might cave and test on the weekend!

I'm so pessimistic - I think it's partly self preservation - that way if I get a bfn then I can say to myself "I told you so!" But also I've never had a bfp before and the stats for success are so low I can't help be negative about it all!

Ok, so, for some insane reason I just did a pregnancy test. I think, but am not sure, there is a very very faint line. It's a clear blue test. AF is due on Sunday so I am only 8 DPO and the test is 6 days before AF is due. I had an Ovitrel (sp?) shot last Saturday so this is 9 days later. Could it just be the remnants of the HCG shot?

Oh I have no idea! Could you try a FRER?? The pink ones are meant to be more accurate / more sensitive!

Thanks Maple. Am pretty sure it's a line but just not sure if it's the HCG shot or a genuine BFP. Now thinking that if I did the trigger shot on 6th August at 10am then it's in fact 9.5 days since then, right?
