Finding it hard to relate to some of the other threads with people joining in and getting upduffed on month1. Happy for them, but making me feel a bit

Also not 25 anymore (big inner child but that doesnt count ) and I can't afford the "it will happen to you", "just relax" ways as I don't have bloody time!!!

Anyone out there wants to join me for some TMI, rant, support and positive chats that say we can still do this!!!!!!

Hi there everyone - hope you don't mind me dropping in and joining! I just joined mumsnet yesterday, so apologies if I mess up/miss out an acronym or two!

Just got married three weeks ago (together for three years) and we were going to TTC on our honeymoon which we booked ages ago to Costa Rica and Colombia, but for obvious reasons (Zika risk!), couldn't

Got back last Weds and went to see my GP yesterday and we apparently have to wait 28 days after visiting Zika affected country to make sure that if we do have it, it's out of our system. They only test people showing symptoms, which we're not, trouble is - 80% of people show no symptoms! But she assured me that the incubation period after being bitten (which we were, a lot) is only a few days and then the virus only stays in the system for a week, so 28 days would be fine.

Really want to get cracking as I turned 35 in March and the ticking clock just got very loud! But, we are of course being very cautious until we're firmly in the 'safe zone' I'm on the pill at the moment and thinking about coming off that and carrying on using condoms as I want it out of my system asap, but the Zika risk is a worry...

Have no other children, so this is all new to me! Looking forward to being properly able to join in very soon , but following all of your stories with lots of interest!

kwick I'll see if I can find a link which explains metformin rather than me trying to explain it. One thing I do know is that 3 girls on my other thread got pg the same month they started taking it!

No news here, I'm cd15 but have had any of my usual symptoms of ov being on its way. So it'll be another long cycle for me. But that's fine as I work funny shifts so I won't see DP for a few days anyway.

I saw my GP on Monday, she's finally referred me to the gynaecologist for further investigations. I should get my appointment letter through in the next month. Can't wait to discuss this with someone who actually knows what they're talking about! My GP is lovely and has been very helpful, but she clearly doesn't have time and just keeps repeating to me about having sex every three days for me whole cycle!

CD 11 here and day 2 of flashing smilies. Have to say struggling this month to be enthusiastic about DTD, hard to forget about the baby making bit.

But know I will be cross if I miss a month.

I'm 40 and ttc #2. I'm on cycle 3 since a mmc last Nov (at around 9 wks). The previous November I had to end a pregnancy due to complications at over 17 wks which was incredibly hard. It took me about 7 months to get pregnant again after that. I have a 5 yr old already. I'll be 41 in summer so very aware of time ticking. I'm trying not to think about it!

I'd love your thoughts on whether you think I should see the doc - the last 3 cycles I've been using the Clearblue Ov Monitor (the old one) and each time I'm ovulating late (around Day 18-20) out of a 28-30 day cycle. Usually 28 days. I can get pregnant as last year proved and before that I had my bloods tested for progesterone which were fine. But can this change after an mc, bearing in mind my age? I can't remember when I ovulated before the last pregnancy...useless memory.

I've been to the Doc's so much in the last year with stress issues amongst other things (delayed reactions to loss of both pregnancies I think) that I'm so reluctant to go again, but I know that's ridiculous. Just wondered if anyone had anything similar. I do wonder if my body is still coming round, but it was 5 months ago now. Surely it would of.

It may be that you always ov'd that late or do you think you would have known? I would go to the GP, no harm in going to ask. But it is likely they may just tell you to wait a few more months to see what your cycles do? But with your age (I am 42 in Aug) I would go now and at least ask.

So the SA has come back and it is totally normal

So we have gone from
the Progtessive was 15 (accepted normal value is over 31.00%) up to 58
T. Motility was 22 (accepted normal value is over 38.00%) and now 61

So am a bit stunned. Only thing different is the male fertility vitamins he has been taking. I had totally got my head to the fact we wouldn't be able to do this without IVF (and that was very unlikely to be a go-er financially) to now maybe it is jsut taking a long time.

I have made a GP appointment for next week to just see what she suggests now, but I assume it won't be anything more that just keep trying?

bathlover that's great news about the SA result. Hopefully the dr will offer something more useful than telling you to keep trying...

saigon welcome. I would see your GP if I were you, if you're ovulating that late it could be possible you've got a short luteal phase - this might have contributed to your mc's but is something that can be easily rectified with progesterone Meds. You can get pg which is great, the next step is giving your body a helping hand to sustain pregnancy. Sorry for your losses, you will get there

What did your gp say saigon? With the luteal phase anything below 10 days is considered short. Your progesterone levels can fluctuate easily, so just because your levels were OK with your last test it doesn't mean they are the same now. It could be as simple as you're not getting enough of the correct vitamins in your diet.

I totally forgot to ask which I'm annoyed with myself about but he basically said keep trying as I have 'proven fertility'. With proven fertility and being past 40, he said we should be trying for a year before going back for more fertility tests. He wasn't concerned with my later ovulation & cycle (he said it was generally better to ovulate later than earlier in your cycle) and that my mc shouldn't affect my progesterone levels which were tested last autumn before it happened. He said it didn't generally fluctuate. He also said to just take folic acid as some of the other vitamins included in these conception vitamins can actually have a detrimental effect eg: extra iron.

I trust this particular doctor; he's very well regarded. It does however seem that opinion varies so much on this stuff. Its very confusing.

Second day of my solid smiley here. Managed twice today and once yesterday and also last 4 days before that. So well covered!

With the positive SA results I do feel like there might be a chance this month. But not too hopeful.
