New thread here as I love the other thread I follow but 35th birthday in two weeks and cycle #6 of TTC atm Envy

Finding it hard to relate to some of the other threads with people joining in and getting upduffed on month1. Happy for them, but making me feel a bit Sad

Also not 25 anymore (big inner child but that doesnt count Grin) and I can't afford the "it will happen to you", "just relax" ways as I don't have bloody time!!! ConfusedConfused

Anyone out there wants to join me for some TMI, rant, support and positive chats that say we can still do this!!!!!!

First glass of vino of the weekend down Wine Grin
my husband and I are going away together for the first night in at least 4.8 yrs... Age of our oldest dc. When I see it written down like that it looks so long...! Off to a friends wedding. Will try not to get too merry but it is probably inevitable!
Not fertile as yet so we can relax and drink, reckon I'm another week at least from ovulation.
Evergreen holiday sounds great!!!

Evergreen17 · 23/04/2016 08:48

Blueskies that is mad! So this is what life with kids will be like!
I am soooo concerned about the TTC thing that I forget that if I manage to get preggo and successfully so, I will have a little one at all times and no more me time..
So this month I am trying to enjoy life and appreciate every day, which is also taking a lot of pressure from TTC, this can only be a good thing!

Smile

I am working this weekend, but you guys have a good one!

Question. Do you dtd everyday when you get the positive opk?
I have my new fertility monitor and I am hoping it will give me some days of high fertility and one of peak.
(Like flashy/ steady smile)
Do you dtd on all of those days?
I dont thing we have the energy, or the libido...

OP posts:
Bathlover · 24/04/2016 10:28

We tend to dtd everyday over fertile time and sometimes twice.

There is a lot of opinion out here on once/twice a day.

In theory the sperm can live inside for 72 hours (I think)

But all the evidence is so random and then someone will pop up and say 'I got pregnant having sex once 1 week before I ovulated' Hmm

So I think do what you can.

It is so hard to keep up the momentum of Dtd very frequently. We laugh sometimes about having smiley face sex. It is for the have a baby cause rather than let's have fun.

Totally not hopeful for this month (ignoring the obvious it probably won't happen naturally anyway thing!) so it's not the wait for my period. Older I get worse my pmt has got too. Adding to the week before is just horrible :(

But going to keep busy with the gym and work and away next weekend.

Hope you guys are all ok

Evergreen17 · 24/04/2016 13:58

Thanks Bathlover maybe I should try to do that this cycle! Once a day is already a stretch! But maybe I will try!
We are going on holidays on Friday so I am hoping that I dont ovulate before then. I am CD9 so maybe!!!
Everything crossed

OP posts:
HepKestrel · 24/04/2016 16:34

we'll just try to cover the smiley-face period (including flashing stage) as long as OH and I are in the same location. work and travels is our main issue that we know of.

already learning that I can ovulate any time from cd12 to cd18.

Evergreen17 · 24/04/2016 18:08

Hep travel when ttc sucks. We dont travel separately often, but we have funny rotas so sometimes we cant.
9dpo and hoping fertlity week doesnt begin until our holidays! Smile

Lies! CD9, not 9dpo

Hi all

Just about in one piece after a quite drunken wedding! Lots of fun! Did not feel like 4plus years since we had been away just us! (A good thing I think!)
In terms of when to dtd, hate it when travel or work got in the way. Every other day seems ok. I know when I conceived dc1 husband came back for one day in between business trips and that's when I conceived (day after after ovulation temp spike if I recall correctly) no hard and fast rules is my experience.

Bathlover, I am the same re pmt, it is bloody awful, I have spotting for about four days beforehand, dreadful pain, and horrendous mood swings. I wondered about endometriosis but have never raised with the GP.

Have a good week all xxx

petiteange28 · 25/04/2016 13:57

Afternoon all, Hope you all had good weekends.....I am 1 day late and second BFN. I held out doing a test all weekend (and even consoled myself with a glass or two of wine). Now I just want AF to turn up so I can start counting down the CD days towards a May BFP.

Wrote down a list of supposed 'good foods for fertility' - 75% of which I hate. Once AF finally makes an appearance I am going to try and force some of these down my throat as the new thing to try for May. (April - the new thing to try was acupuncture).

Kwick709 · 26/04/2016 18:12

Hope it is okay to join I may be a bit of a thread junkie

Kwick
TTC #1
Age 41 but only admit to 21
As I am footloose and fancy free need assistance or the immaculate conception did first IUI in September 2015, after 5 failed attempts moved to medicated IVF and got BFP. Made it to 8 weeks but last week at second early scan no heartbeat found. Devastated but not ready to give up just yet.

May this thread by lucky for us all Star

Kwick709 · 26/04/2016 18:33

Also in terms of supplements you may want to look at a book called "it starts with the egg" - contains great advice.
This is what I do/did:
Daily coq10 supplement
7 seas trying to have a baby
Vit d (I am deficient)
Extra folic acid (I am overweight)
Vit B complex
Whole milk - copious amounts - during ovulation but not during 2ww
Walnuts, cayenne pepper, cinnamon

Kwick709 · 26/04/2016 18:34

Oh and vitamin E - but in the pm

Bathlover · 27/04/2016 07:12

Waves at Kwick, hello I'm a lurker infrequent poster on JS. Your attitude to this whole ttc basis is formidable.

On silly phone app so can't scroll back but definitely not buying any baby stuff until I'm about to pop either. Bought some bump bands cos I started to show with first pregnancy, I should probably get rid of them but I remain hopeful that I'll need them soon. Instead I just scowl at them every time I find them Angry.

Kwick709 · 27/04/2016 13:46

Hiya mimi!!! Lovely words - fanks.

Please explain use of bump band - does it support tummy in anyway?

HepKestrel · 27/04/2016 13:55

hi Mimi !

current status : cd11 ... no flashing face yet....

MimiDiddy · 27/04/2016 14:02

Kwick I wish I'd got far enough along to need the support bands. Bump bands are for when you getting to fat pregnant for your normal clothes but aren't ready for proper maternity clothes. They help hide the fact you can't do your jeans up properly Grin

MimiDiddy · 27/04/2016 14:07

Hi Kestrel, thanks for the welcome. I'm cd25, AF due Saturday and the witch is already broadcasting her entrance with her usual spotting preamble. Oh well, at least I can have a few guilt-free Winethis weekend.

Kwick709 · 28/04/2016 08:08

I had my first Wine since September yesterday - just one glass of Rioja.... And have had headache all night and still there.... Jumping right back on wagon!

So the bump band does not support the fat pregnancy, just provides modesty cover?

I saw my consultant yesterday and I am going to do natural IVF from my second AF - God knows when that will be as I am still bleeding after op 😕
She also prescibed DHEA for me - so add that to the list above!

I was talking to my mum last night about the foods I should eat - like avocado and so on and I feel like I have overdosed and really do not fancy anymore... Never could stand walnuts... Oh well I shall just lie back and think of England!

Evergreen17 · 28/04/2016 08:17

Hello lovely ladies!!! I have been busy and now I come to say hello and I see lots of messages and new people!!
Hello all! Smile [waves]
Blueskies glad to hear you had a fantastic time, well deserved!
Petite good stuff with the good food, whatever is good for fertility is good for your body anyway
I have cut sugar and bad treats from my diet once away. Grin
Kwick super welcome here lovely, and thanks for the tip and the book recommendation, maybe a read for my holidays starting tomorrow!
Why not whole milk during 2ww? This is news to me! I only have it in my coffee and tea and only 1 cup a day
Hello Mimi how are you! Smile welcome here Thankshow very frustrating that everything is ok with you two (which is fantastic) but you are not conceiving. This is what drives me crazy about this ttc business! So random! Those bands sound good, when can I use them already?!Sad
Kwick good choice of Wine, Rioja is great and such a small region that has produced wine for centuries in family wineries Grin
Wait! I eat avocado Grin
So sorry to hear about the op and the recovery Sad
Is the natural IVF the same you were just doing? I remember you were having injections and that...

Evergreen17 · 28/04/2016 08:21

Oh! Quite excited that my fertility monitor gave me a high yesterday Grin
CD12. I shoved it in OH's face and we dtd SmileSmileSmileSmile
Pretty pleased
However I decided to use my moon cup afterwards to keep it in Confused (I have read about this) but not sure that was a good move, it was hard to remove it this morning and worry the little guys couldnt swim due to suction effect.
I think no more. But it was nice to be able to go to wee without having niagara falls effect
