Original relaxed thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2537105-relaxed-ttc-feb-march-april-2016

Hi all, thought I would start a new thread before we capped the earlier one. Here's hoping for more laid back BFPs and a bit of OT chat.

Everyone welcome, waiting to try, TTC, not preventing, being hopeful, and trying not to flip the fck out squinting at lines on sticks.

I can see a faint line Grin awesome bertie!!

No reason why I don't ovulate every month. They scanned my ovaries last Christmas, they were all healthy. Just one of those things. They thought it might have been stress related at the time. No idea about now though

jennymac31 · 12/04/2016 16:01

Well I thought I'd drop a few lines as it's been a while.
Found out at lunchtime that I won't be made redundant so are going to consider ttc but expecting AF tomorrow so may wait until next month.

Adventuregame · 12/04/2016 16:09

I had a cycle just previous to this one where I got a positive opk and then obviously didn't ovulate as a couple of weeks later I had another set of positive opks this time with ovulation pain followed by AF 2 weeks later. Whole cycle was 65 days. Annoying as you don't know what's going on but hopefully I'm back on track now and using the clearblue advanced fertility monitor this month.

rylea · 12/04/2016 16:24

Thanks for responses! He's off tomorrow now for 3 weeks so we will get our next try in June! Seems so far away! Sending good luck to everyone!!

jennymac31 · 12/04/2016 16:27

I might starting taking ovulation tests and temping etc after this cycle, as AF should be my second since coming off the pill so will see how my cycles peter out.

BertieBotts · 12/04/2016 19:44

They don't have FRER in Germany! I will just try again in a couple of days :)

DH is having absolutely hilarious sympathy symptoms!! He's eaten tuna on chocolate cake. Can't sleep. Is having hot flushes. Even said something tasted metallic Shock and then got emotional. He's not emotional about the pregnancy because he doesn't believe me yet as he can't see the line. So what is that all about?! Confused

Sienna9522 · 12/04/2016 21:52

Is it just me who watches OBEM and absolutely panics! I'm not even pregnant yet and already worrying about the million and one things that could go wrong in childbirth Shock

wispaxmas · 12/04/2016 21:59

Sienna, try not to think about it - even if something goes 'wrong' chances are you'll still be willing to do it again a couple years later, just look at me! Wink

BERTIE!!!! I see it! ThanksThanksThanks

Poshpiggy, if you aren't that interested in tracking, ovulation will happen on average 2 weeks before AF arrives, but something quite easy to look for is cervical fluid.. I warn you, though, once you learn what EWCM is you can never forget and you will never NOT know when you're fertile ever again. It's grim.

wispaxmas · 12/04/2016 22:07

Sunny, we were going to start trying a couple months ago, but then I panicked and decided to hold off until May, so next cycle, eek!

Sienna9522 · 12/04/2016 22:12

How many children do you have Wispa? I already feel like I want more than one, but let's see Grin

Bertie, I can definitely see it. Congrats x

wispaxmas · 13/04/2016 06:42

I'm already regretting the OPKs- even without the squinting at sticks it has given me a static smiley today, 2 days earlier than expected!! They were supposed to just be a simple extra confirmation of my totally straightforward cycle so that next cycle I wouldn't have to track anything and could just know when the fertile week was. I should have known better because now I'm not relaxed!!

wispaxmas · 13/04/2016 06:45

Sienna, I just have one, she's 22 months, but the decision to TTC again was definitely a head decision as my heart wasn't in it a couple months ago... After a couple cycles on the thread I'm really getting a bit broody now, so looking forward to it.

I'm not going insane Grin

I have done another this morning with FMU but it's still hard to see. I have two more cheap ones and one expensive so I'm going to keep doing them first thing. Fingers crossed it gets strong enough by Friday for DH to see something Grin

But not getting too excited. It's step one, that's all. It could still be a chemical, especially as they are so faint.

twocatsandatoddler · 13/04/2016 07:32

Sienna my DS's birth was pretty awful but I'm still willing to go through it again so it can't actually have been that bad!

Wispa totally with you on the never being unable to 'un-know' what you know about cervical mucus!

I was lucky enough to conceive first cycle of trying last time so thankfully didn't have to do too much tracking / planning so I'm hoping for the same this time but I'm wary of being too complacent and expecting it to happen as quickly again as I think that's setting myself up for disappointment if it doesn't.

chelle792 · 13/04/2016 07:56

I tried to post yesterday evening but my phone failed on me! I've read back some of the thread now - exciting that so many are testing on the 4th. AF is due on the 30th for me so I'll join if I can wait that long! although last time I knew before I tested

I love the cm way of telling!! It's basically how I've avoided pregnancy this last six months. But then we would have been happy with an 'accident' anyway so it wasn't a massive risk.

Last time I was pregnant, about 7 days after ovulation I had the most hideous sharp pain that lasted for about 15 seconds - I even let go of the car steering wheel doubled over in pain and dh had to grab it and steer for about 20 seconds! Then had spotting. I think that was implantation. Has anyone ever had that of those of you who already have kids?

SunnyDays1987 · 13/04/2016 07:56

Sienna step away from OBEM!!! Childbirth is awful, no two ways about that and anyone who says it isn't is lying or it's been too long ago to remember properly, BUT most people do it again so it's clearly all worth it in the end! I remember after giving birth saying I'll never ever ever do that again and the midwife smiled at me and said you will.... I wanted to punch her in the face but here we are!!!

wispa it's been a really difficult decision for me too, but now I'm committed to it I'm really looking forward to getting cracking! I hope I remember this when I'm absolutely hanging out my arse for at least 10 weeks! I'm sure if you just DTD all the time when you're seeing EWCM you'll be fine?! Step away from the OPKS!!

Congratulations Bertie hope it turns in to a really thick line for you in a few days! What cycle is this for you?

Twocats hope it's easy for you again this time, I'm really hoping it's not a long process for us too and I can avoid having to go too crazy!

SunnyDays1987 · 13/04/2016 07:58

chelle I didn't have any pain but I was walking and all of a sudden came over feeling really dizzy and just strange. Not something that's happened to me before or after so I'm wondering if that was implantation as well. Does sound like yours was implantation, especially with the spotting afterwards. Not too long until you can test this time then!!

chelle792 · 13/04/2016 08:08

Yeh, it'll go quickly. I hardly have time to think on my cycle!! Literally have my period, fertile period about 4 days later for 5 days then my tww. Goes in a blink!!

SunnyDays1987 · 13/04/2016 09:03

Yeah I bet. I have ages to wait in between. It's great not having AF that often when you're not TTC but when you are it drags! Although I'm hoping that having DS makes it go faster this time. Time is all a bit of a blur with him around!

Fuzyfelt23 · 13/04/2016 09:12

Can I have some advice please?
I'm TTC, it's my first cycle, the 2ww was killing me so I tested this morning, AF is due in 4 days time and I got a BFN. I'm not feeling like I set myself up for disappointment... have I tested too early? Or should I accept that it's not happened this month?

chelle792 · 13/04/2016 09:13

How long did it take you to conceive last time?

twocatsandatoddler · 13/04/2016 09:23

Fuzy I tested early last time (I think 3-4 days before AF due) and was negative but got a BFP a few days later. I won't be testing early this time as it turned out just to be a waste of time (although it's so hard to wait when you just want to know NOW!)

Fuzyfelt23 · 13/04/2016 09:49

Thank you twocats :) I'm still holding out hope :)
