Original relaxed thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2537105-relaxed-ttc-feb-march-april-2016

Hi all, thought I would start a new thread before we capped the earlier one. Here's hoping for more laid back BFPs and a bit of OT chat.

Everyone welcome, waiting to try, TTC, not preventing, being hopeful, and trying not to flip the fck out squinting at lines on sticks.

So here we go symptom spotting. I'm only 2 dpo but ever since I ovulated i have had mild period like pains (dull ache) is this normal as I don't think I got it in the previous cycles?
Sorry sooz!! Better luck next cycle xx

TheresaMarie55 · 19/05/2016 11:41

Sorry AF got you sooz Flowers she's such a biatch!

Twocats, I currently have a 3 and a 1 year old (also a 13 year old stepson), there is just under two years between them (dd2 born 11 days before dd2 turned 2) and yes it has been difficult in ways but also so many lovely moments. Hoping to be pregnant soon so we will have a slightly bigger age gap this time but still quite close together. My house will be mad but oh well haha.

I am going through the stage of being convinced I may be pregnant to absolutely sure I'm not ATM. Another week to go until I find out for sure! X

SoozC · 19/05/2016 12:46

Thanks all. I feel sad but not gutted like last month. Think being objective about my symptom spotting helped.

AlexiaB · 19/05/2016 13:25

Sophie- oh that sounds lovely! :) I'm sure you've been having much better weather than here! Mine's around around the same date but in Feb. Yeh that's terrible news about the plane! It's very scary but there hasn't been anything terrorist related where you are and the law of averages suggest there won't be another accident this soon after another. Just try to stay as calm as possible and enjoy your last day hun. Your cycles are short aren't they, sorry that I don't have much info to offer. The only thing I will say is it's definitely better than having a 35+ cycle! So much less waiting around. I'm feeling ok today, I don't know what to think. I've been obsessing about CM to try and work out what's going on but it's impossible. Going to test tomorrow morn on cd25, af due 31st May though.

Sooz- oh I'm so sorry to hear that :( it's the worst!

AlexiaB · 19/05/2016 13:32

Welcome Bridget and congratulations on your marriage. Once you start TTC there's no going back, you're officially crazy! Well I am anywayGrin

SophieBear13 · 19/05/2016 14:55

Welcome Bridget!

Rausten I am doing exactly the same thing and have been since 3dpo currently 5dpo and apart from a sore throat have no 'symptoms' anymore at all now. I'm pretty certain I can't be pregnant because it was my first cycle and we weren't really timing it properly.

Alexia I know I'm just being silly I have such a fear of flying and literally hate every moment of it! I can't even have a drink this time either just in case! They are and I know people say if your luteal phase is short that's bad- I think mine is exactly 12 days so not sure if that's okay or not. Gah! Another thing to worry about.

I'm only 5dpo but already worrying because apart from a sore throat and bloating there are no symptoms at all here! I think I might be out because we didn't time anything really. It seems like a long time to wait until next week!! How has the weather been? It was quite hot before we left. I'm not looking forward to leaving this place as its stunning but I can't wait to give the dogs a cuddle and get back to my own bed!

ginandcake · 19/05/2016 15:01

DD1 is 3 1/2 and DD2 will be 2 in August Twocats. So there is 22 months between them. We have found it a good age gap, hard at first but you can already see them playing together. If all goes to plan there will be just over a 2 1/2 between this one and DD2 which is more than we wanted but work got in the way! Fingers crossed for you this month, all sounding positive.

Sorry Sooz, fingers crossed for next month.

rausten · 19/05/2016 15:11

sophie it's driving me crazy. Mainly because I have a constant abdominal ache since tues eve and not sure why?!? X

SophieBear13 · 19/05/2016 15:39

rausten I had the same but it was like a tugging feeling in my left side. I'm assuming it was trapped wind and nothing baby related as I know it's far too early but it's hard to tell yourself that when you have all this weird stuff happening! I am now more worried that nothing is happening at all! Gah. Hate TWW.

TheresaMarie55 · 19/05/2016 15:43

Ginandcake, is your eldest October born? They're the same age as my eldest Smile my youngest is two months younger than your youngest so we will have pretty much the same age gaps if we get our bfps together Grin

ginandcake · 19/05/2016 16:22

Yes she is! We obviously have the perfect age gaps!

TheresaMarie55 · 19/05/2016 16:56

Aww cute! What date if you don't mind me asking. Both mine are October so she may share their birthday Smile

ginandcake · 19/05/2016 17:24

17th, she was due on the 2nd! Sad

TheresaMarie55 · 19/05/2016 17:46

Aww my youngest is the 16th! Eldest is 27th. Wow, did you get induced in the end? My first was ten days early and second 5 days late so who knows what will happen next time x

ginandcake · 19/05/2016 18:01

So October must be busy and expensive for you! Waters broke the day I was due to go in so avoided the induction. Second was 14 days late as well!

AlexiaB · 19/05/2016 18:12

Sophie I think 12-14 days is the average LP from what I've read so I think you're okay. Oh why do you think that - did you not BD much? We managed to every other night from cd8. I'm still trying to "enjoy" it but it's stressful. I also don't have many symptoms either which is worrying me. The weather is rubbish here, it's cold and wet. My washing got soaked by the rain! So enjoy the sun while you can! Aw what kind of dog do you have?

TheresaMarie55 · 19/05/2016 18:21

It is but in a way it saves money to as we can have joint parties while they're young, last year we had a swimming party the weekend in between their birthdays which they loved. This year we're gonna do a bouncy castle type party in a hall I think. The age gap has its negatives with toys sometimes as we have to buy two of everything now or they fight over it Shock .

Ah, must be frustrating to go over so much! Will you have your due date as later in your head next time you think? X

Lemon27 · 19/05/2016 18:40

Hah neonrainbow that's exactly it I have been terrified up to now and still am a bit - slowly coming around but also feel a bit panicked about it. My husband feels totally ready and I feel like we are like swapped round stereotypes- he's the girl that's trying to convince the guy(me!) to have kids and the guy is putting it off!!!

Anyway we'll see what happens....I feel at the moment too that I'm under constant 👀 by both sets of parents....every time I see them I make sure to order/pour a large glass of wine and I can almost see them think to themselves 'dammit, still not pregnant then' 😂

Que sera sera eh?

neonrainbow · 19/05/2016 18:51

Oh yes lemon i know the feeling!! I got married last year and every single family member is eyes on me waiting for me to announce I'm pregnant. So I've decided it anyone asks when we are planning a baby I'm going to tell them we arent ready yet. I don't want the pressure if it doesn't happen straight away. And up to a week and a half ago, i was still on the fence! 😃

wispaxmas · 19/05/2016 20:12

Ahh, silly me for jumping to conclusions, Alexia! I love NYC!

No news from me, I'll still check in whilst away, hope for some good news over the weekend Grin

Please can I join you. Done a bit of lurking.
Been waiting for my first af and she arrived today... whilst I was at work Blush so I feel like ttc is actually a possibility now rather than just wildly dtd.
I've never done any charting and opks and stuff so I'm fairly relaxed about it all for now so this seemed like the most welcoming thread especially as I already have 1 ds.

neonrainbow I told everyone I didn't want kids. So they were all super surprised when I announced first preg.

ginandcake · 19/05/2016 21:11

Definitely Theresa , I'll automatically presume I'll go for 42 weeks, my babies just liked to be cooked that little bit longer!

Have a great weekend Wispa, hope you can stay distracted!

I can remember that happening Neon and Lemon with people literally asking on the wedding day when the baby was due! My DM was the worst. That is what is nice this time with trying for number three, no one has any idea or any expectations. I think you're right not telling anyone, the last thing you need is more pressure!

Sonnet18 · 19/05/2016 21:51

Can I join? Been lurking for a while and wanting join! Thinking about ttc dc2 and definitely taking a relaxed approach to it!

twocatsandatoddler · 20/05/2016 06:39

BFN again for me this morning so I think I'm out for this month, although I know I'm not out of the game until AF arrives.

I really did think I could be pregnant because of the timing of cramps and nausea - now I see why they don't recommend symptom-spotting!

SoozC · 20/05/2016 06:54

It was the same with me twocats - I have no idea what my body was up to with all those "symptoms"!
