Original relaxed thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2537105-relaxed-ttc-feb-march-april-2016

Hi all, thought I would start a new thread before we capped the earlier one. Here's hoping for more laid back BFPs and a bit of OT chat.

Everyone welcome, waiting to try, TTC, not preventing, being hopeful, and trying not to flip the fck out squinting at lines on sticks.

Sophie - yeh it is crazy how much we have in common and we're both definitely over thinkers! I'm worried too what if I just can't ever have children, which I know is very dramatic, but there are people like that out there so I could be one of them. We're focusing on loads of BD over the next few months and then if nothing happens we'll go to the drs. Oh no you have quite a wait til Wednesday! You can definitely test but just be prepared it might be negative as it's still quite early. I've wasted so much money on tests so I only test if 4 days late but sometimes I cave in! Hope you feel better soon xx

Two cats, Sooz & Love fingers crossed for you ladies!! Hang in thereSmile

Sunny I absolutely couldn't agree more!!! It's such a rollercoaster of emotions. I'm in quite a similar boat as for the first time ever I had spotting on cd18 but I usually have a 35 day cycle so it makes no sense. I think it's promising that you've previously experienced IB with your son. If it doesn't turn into af I'd be inclined to say it is an IB which is exciting. I'm interested to see what happens!

Also welcome to the new people:)

rausten · 18/05/2016 18:24

And here we go. . . 1dpo let the torture begin.

Alexia and sophie don't stress too much! It can be very frustrating waiting and worrying but if you don't have any major problem with your cycle the chances are you won't have trouble conceiving 😊

Sooz and buffalo hang in there!! What I would give to be at the end of my cycle now. Firstly because the tww would be over and secondly it will be half term lol xxx

SophieBear13 · 18/05/2016 18:49

Alexia- well im glad you're here too! It's nice to have someone in the same exact position! I know it seems like ages. I think that's the very earliest I could test as my period isn't due until next Saturday. I'm usually always 2 days earlier though so we will see. I might test in Wednesday just to see! I think I'm even more obsessive because I'm away which is bloody lovely but not working gives you more time to be an overthinker!

FX for you Rausten! I'm either 3dpo or 4dpo, Ovia says 3 but I reckon it's four so got a whole to wait!

wispaxmas · 18/05/2016 20:47

Hi all, 7dpo here and my chart has thrown me a bit and given me a splinter of hope for a bfp.. A possible implantation dip Shock

I'm luckily off to a friends tomorrow with my DD and then we are all driving down to Devon for the weekend to visit a pregnant friend and there will be 6 of us and 3 toddler girls and I'm thinking it should be the PERFECT distraction from the TWW (despite the fact that 3 of them are pregnant).

Ooh, fx for you wispa! Have a lovely weekend, it does sound like a great distraction!

Lemon27 · 18/05/2016 21:19

Hi ladies

I posted a few times on the original thread but have just been lurking since then...great to hear some BFPs and good luck to the rest of the ladies trying! I'm only really starting so it's great reading all your experiences.

I came off the pill at the end of February and have just used safe periods/condoms since then. May is our first month actually having unprotected sex and it's weird!!! Haha we've had a good few tries so far except the past few days due to a few things and I reckon I've been ovulating as my nipples are quite sensitive/small bit of ewcm. I'm not yet using ovulation sticks or Ovia (downloaded that a few months ago and it scared the hell out of me with all the info it wanted) so just planning on having lots of sex and testing if I'm late (have tracked period dates since coming off pill - 29-33 days).

Anyway...quite long winded sorry but if AF doesn't appear by end of May I'll test but have lots going on that I'm hoping I won't notice and am trying to stay relaxed. My husband is big time ready for kids and I've been the one holding him off....we agreed at Xmas to start in May and now it's here I'm like 😬!

Looking forward to keeping track of all of you and moving forward together!!! Xx

AlexiaB · 18/05/2016 21:33

Sophie- aww I feel the same, really pleased I signed up now! When did you turn 25 and which country are you from? (You don't have to answer if it's too personal). I must have completely missed that you're on holiday lol - where did you go? Hope you're having a lovely time! It's good that you know you're usually early, I'm very unpredictable atm. My last 9 cycles have been 35, 42, 36, 38, 32, 25, 29, 33, 39 which I think is odd. Anyway, roll on Wednesday for you!

Hi rausten thank you. I don't actually know yet if there's anything wrong with my cycles? I know stress definitely affects it e.g. the 42 a couple months ago and the 25&29 when I was flying to America&Canada. It's all a little confusing!

Have a lovely weekend wispa sorry I'm not much help with the chart.

Hi Lemon! Congrats on ttc and good luck! I too am looking forward to keeping track of everyone and seeing how we all get on :)

wispaxmas · 18/05/2016 22:28

Alexia, what took you to America and Canada? I'm from Toronto and have loads of family in the states, so we fly over there every year! Could it be that there are two Canadians on the thread? (She asked, semi-hopefully) Grin

Hey lemon27 sounds like your situation is very similar to me! I've also been putting dh off and i was terrified -now we've decided to get on with it I've gone 0-60 in about a second. Dh can't believe his luck!

Im in the 2ww now. I've got loads of cheapo tests so I'm going to test on Saturday but i think it's too early to tell - I'm just impatient!

AlexiaB · 18/05/2016 22:46

Ah sorry wispa I'm actually English (Irish mum). We went to visit my BIL who lives in downtown Toronto and I had Taylor Swift tickets at the Rogers Centre(which was incredible!!). Toronto is a beautiful city, I can't wait to go back! I noticed you said you're going to Devon this weekend so I'm guessing you now live in England?? It was also our 'when we met' anniversary so we flew to New York and had a nice 7 day stay. Absolute best holiday I've ever had. I loved both cities so much!

SoozC · 18/05/2016 23:11

wispa I have cousins who live all over Canada/US! My eldest aunt moved to Canada when she was about 20, she married a Canadian (55 years ago!) and had nine kids who live as far-flung as Vancouver, Ottawa, Boston and San Francisco!

SunnyDays1987 · 19/05/2016 07:10

Looks promising wispa! I stopped temping after I'd confirmed OV when I got my BFP so I can't say whether I got a dip or not but I know everything seems to say you do!

I'm pretty sure AF will be here for me in the next few days. Think I'll just have to put this down to a freak cycle because of me being a bit stressed and tired.

Hope everyone else is doing well and I'll have a proper read through all the posts later!

twocatsandatoddler · 19/05/2016 07:38

I'm currently sitting on the train into work struggling to keep my eyes open and feeling a bit nauseous. I'm not normally a morning person anyway but never this bad so after a BFN and fewer symptoms yesterday I'm now feeling more hopeful again. Either way I'll find out in a few days so at least the wait is almost over!

For those of you with DC already - do you feel nervous about having another one? We've always wanted two kids and I'm so excited about (hopefully) having a new addition to the family, but I can't help but feel that pregnancy and maternity leave with a toddler in tow is going to be hard work!

SoozC · 19/05/2016 07:41

Af got me this morning.

twocatsandatoddler · 19/05/2016 07:49

Sorry, sooz, here's hoping for better luck next cycle.

SunnyDays1987 · 19/05/2016 07:54

Sorry Sooz. Hope you're ok. Flowers

Oooh exciting twocats. When will you test again? Yeah, I've often thought what the hell are we doing thinking of having another. For quite a while we said we didn't want another. If AF comes this month part of me will feel like I've dodged a bullet a bit! For me I think we want two children but neither of us is particularly looking forward to having another baby. It was hard enough with one, never mind with a toddler in tow!!!!

SunnyDays1987 · 19/05/2016 08:03

Oh and yeah I hate pregnancy!!!!

Eva30 · 19/05/2016 08:10

Sorry Sooz ChocolateFlowers

twocatsandatoddler · 19/05/2016 08:15

I completely agree! I actually had a pretty straightforward pregnancy last time (up until the awful labour but that's another story) but I'm still not looking forward to being big and uncomfortable again. And the first two months with a newborn were the hardest of my life, much as I loved DS. But then they're only newborns for a short while and after that life gets easier!

I'm going to test again first thing tomorrow. We have some friends staying for the weekend so it would be nice to know before they arrive tomorrow. But that's still a day before AF so there's a chance even if I am it won't show up. Off to Superdrug at lunchtime to buy their tests as that's what worked for me last time the day before AF.

jennymac31 · 19/05/2016 08:18

Sorry AF arrived soozc.

Twocats - dh and I have always wanted 2 kids but it's just been a case of deciding when would be the right time to have baby no 2, as we've both changed our jobs since dd was born. We also want to time it so that I'll hopefully be on maternity leave when dd starts school next year. Not sure what to expect with second pregnancy, as was incredibly impatient when I was first pregnancy. Fx we'll find out how pregnancy is going to be very soon!

SunnyDays1987 · 19/05/2016 08:37

Yeah exactly. People make a joke about the lack of sleep with a newborn, but it's not funny, it's a proper form of torture and that doesn't even get in to the aftermath of giving birth! But yeah it doesn't last forever and they're so so worth it!

I've heard good things about the superdrug tests. I'm so excited for you for tomorrow!!! I've totally ruled myself out now but I'm absolutely fine about it Smile

ginandcake · 19/05/2016 09:24

Morning ladies.
When we are trying for number two I was so excited but when we did get pregnant I started to think 'oh shit', worrying about how I was ever going to cope being pregnant with a toddler and then with a newborn and a toddler. But you just do, and it is so worth it in the end.

Now we are starting to try for number 3 having all the same worries. Life is just starting to get back to normal. Financially we're okay, both DDs sleep well and now we're going to change everything! Have to just keep thinking that we are doing this because we think it is was is best for our family.

twocatsandatoddler · 19/05/2016 10:33

How old are your DDs, gin? We're going for a just over two year age gap. Might be hard work at first but hoping it will pay off later when they're into the same things and can play together.

I just felt so sick/hungry that I had to pop out for some fresh air and get a second breakfast. If I'm not pregnant then my body is definitely up to something! I don't normally feel bad in the run up to AF, just a bit more emotional than normal so this isn't normal AF build-up for me. But then I've only had 4 AFs in the last 3 years so not enough to know what's normal for me really!

SophieBear13 · 19/05/2016 11:18

Alexia- literally this month just before we went on holiday so we celebrated my birthday here too :). I live in England. We're at a lovely resort in Tenerife today is our last day though! I'm a very nervous flyer and woke up to the horrible news about the missing/crashed plane from Paris so of course now I'm freaking out! My sisters were like have a strong drink but obviously I don't want to do that until I'm definitely out! Mine have been between 22-24 since I started tracking then which does worry me a bit bevause it's a lost shorter that the average. I don't know what that means for me in terms of being in the two week wait? How are you feeling today?

SoozC- Flowers sorry to hear that Sooz! Why do our bodies trick us like this? Hope you have a nice glass of wine/a cocktail later and treat yourself to something nice.

BridgetDoodle · 19/05/2016 11:31

Hi ladies, can I please join? This is my first post, although I have been an intermittent lurker. I got married in April and started TTC straight away. Currently on cycle 2, I think ovulated yesterday and currently lying in bed willing those little swimmers to find that egg! We had planned on being relaxed and not really tracking for first 6 months but I have already turned into a symptom and tracking demon!
