Original relaxed thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2537105-relaxed-ttc-feb-march-april-2016

Hi all, thought I would start a new thread before we capped the earlier one. Here's hoping for more laid back BFPs and a bit of OT chat.

Everyone welcome, waiting to try, TTC, not preventing, being hopeful, and trying not to flip the fck out squinting at lines on sticks.

Eva- I think because the signs are all similar to normal AF symptoms you def could be pregnant! Hopefully it's not just AF taking her sweet time- that happened to me last month and I'm never late and I was so convinced. My DH was surprised when I was upset because we hadn't started trying yet and I deep down knew I wasn't but it was still a pain! Are you ever usually late?

Alexia- yes I am- that's so exciting that we are both in the same boat!! We got married in March after 5 years but have been together on and off since we were 15. I wasn't really broody until probably the last 6 months but then I feel like my body went into overdrive when we wre married. I couldn't explain it to DH but it was like a switch flipped on me. Really odd. We were going to wait until late 2016 but then DH decided he wanted to start sooner as well! I'm already a neurotic impatient mess and we've only just started! Ahaha.

I'm currently 3dpo and already symptom spotting which I know is ridiculous but DH and I are laughing about it and not taking it seriously! I feel like it would be impossible not too.

AlexiaB · 17/05/2016 16:54

Sophie congratulations on your marriage! That's so sweet that you've known each other for so long :) I'm glad to have met someone in the same boat too. I met my DH at Uni when I was 18; we got married 20 months later in June 2011. I've always been the broody type - I was that little girl obsessed with dolls and baby cousins etc but I wanted to finish my education and get settled first before ttc. We started ttc in March 2015 (4/5 months were write offs due to moving, holidays, unpredictable ovulation/cycles) and I'm gutted it hasn't happened so far. It's almost like I regret waiting that long knowing what I know now, but that's life I guess! So I definitely think you and your DH made the right decision ttc asap. I can definitely relate to being a neurotic mess, it's like I'm obsessed at this point lol. I've got my fx for you and hope your tww goes by super fast!

SoozC · 17/05/2016 17:48

TMI - bit of light pink when I wiped at 11am this morning. Sure it heralds arrival of af in two days' time so I think I'm onto the June bus.
Fx for you all this month x

twocatsandatoddler · 17/05/2016 18:07

sooz spotting at any point in first trimester (not just at implantation) is fairly common so don't rule yourself out just yet.

Katiet1991 · 17/05/2016 18:28

Hey guys I'm new to mumsnet (well I've been reading posts on here for a couple yrs but only just joined).... I have 3 children and currently ttc number 4 as I have been advised to ttc now by my doctor as it's our last chance if we want anymore children due to being disabled but not wheelchair bound because I have had obstetric Cholestasis (a dangerous liver disease in pregnancy) very rarely this illness occurs after pregnancy it's like a one in a billion chance but unfortunately mine did and I am now severely I'll cause of it.... I am a midwife but been signed off sick for two years because of all my health conditions which are life threatening.. ok so I got my nexplanon implant out 25 days ago had a tiny bit of spitting after dtd (not had a period yet) I had 4 positive hpt tests and constantly positive opks.... been to drs twice within the last 2 weeks and had a beta hcg blood test which both said hcg completely undetected.... I am so baffled and frustrated I don't know what to do. I kno I am being impatient but it's hard when the Dr's are saying I need an urgent hysterectomy asap if I don't fall pregnant

jennymac31 · 17/05/2016 19:10

Day 2 of cycle and have already had enough of AF! Cramps and nausea getting worse but suspect it's a mixture of AF and the dregs of the infection I caught a couple of weeks ago. Sick and tired of feeling ill but know that there's a chance I might feel like this for a whole 9 months if I get a bfp in the near future.

wispaxmas · 17/05/2016 20:52

Eva, just because you have no signs and symptoms does not mean you aren't pregnant. I had no symptoms last time. Plenty of people don't even realise they're pregnant until much further on.

OP posts:
SoozC · 17/05/2016 21:43

twocats Thanks, trying to be positive in that if I get af this month then I can lose some weight before next month! I've had spotting 2-3 days before af the last two cycles (think it's the conception vitamins).

Katie, sorry to hear of your illness. Fx the docs figure it out very soon.

SoozC · 17/05/2016 21:45

Argh, jenny :( Really feel for you, reckon I'll be joining you in a couple of days' time. Have a big glass of wine!

SophieBear13 · 17/05/2016 22:32

We'll I am feeling very nauseous today- nothing to do with any symptoms in sure as its way too early but making me feel crappy! More likely to do with heat or something. Hoping it goes away by tomorrow so I can enjoy our last three days of holibobs!

Alexia- don't be disheartened, it sounds like lots of that time you had other things going on anyway so it's bound to happen soon for you! Wow, we have a lot in common! That's crazy! What I find worst is that you don't know if anything is wrong until you try and I am so paranoid that there will be something wrong with me!! I'm naturally an over thinker too so this is only making it worse. I quite like the research and symptom spotting and so on though I feel like it passes the time more quickly. Who knows! I don't know if I was early or late for my O day this month so we will see. I fee like its very unlikely to happen on the first try especially as it wasn't very well times etc!

SoozC keeping fingers crossed! Like wispa said it could be implantation so you are most definitely still in with a chance!

Jenny- have you got yourself some nice treats? I turn into a chocolate crazed monster around AF time and can devour entire bags of dark chocolate butttons!

ginandcake · 17/05/2016 23:15

Can I join please? Have been lurking on this thread for a while as we have been dithering about when to start TTC but I decided to make a start and have booked to have my mirena coil out next week. Eek.

This will -hopefully- be baby number three and in our life plans we never really wanted more than about two years between each one. However work got in the way and started a new job relatively recently so have had to put off starting TTC for a bit. But now is the time.

twocatsandatoddler · 18/05/2016 07:02

So I did what I said I wouldn't do and tested early - AF not due until Sat. BFN.

I'm disappointed but I know it could well be because it's too early - last time I got a BFN early on, then a very very faint, sort of there if you squint line 2 days before AF and then a faint line the day before so I don't know why I thought it was a good idea to test today based on that!

I used a boots early response test - might buy a FRER and try again in a couple of days.

How is everyone else in the 2ww feeling?

wispaxmas · 18/05/2016 07:20

Welcome, gin!

Twocats, shrug it off if it's too early! I'm only 7dpo, doing fine, actually think I'd rather not catch this cycle as I've still not really got my head around a less than 3 year age gap! Obviously I'll be happy if we do, but completely fine if we don't Hmm

OP posts:
SunnyDays1987 · 18/05/2016 07:25

Definitely sounds too early twocats! Pressure gets to you sometimes I think! I'm about 8dpo. Still not planning on testing until next Tuesday if AF doesn't show. Sometimes I feel quite confident and next minute I'm sure I'm out! Next month would probably be better for me as well because DS is a January birth so it would give me more of a gap. Time will tell anyway. At least there's a few of us coming to the end of the line with the TWW now!! Got to see some BFPs soon!! Smile

twocatsandatoddler · 18/05/2016 08:14

I know, stupid really to test early as if it's negative you can't rely on it anyway so a waste of a test. That's why I said I wouldn't do it this time but I was too impatient! I guess I'm slightly less hopeful now but I still have symptoms and it's not over until AF arrives!

Eva30 · 18/05/2016 08:18

Thanks Sophie, Wispa and Alexia. I started to think oh maybe there's a chance I am... And then wham AF arrives this morning! I'm feeling quite relieved though as that was cycle 1 after being on the pill for 10 years and was 31 days cycle so quite happy with that. My friend came off the pill and still hasn't had AF for 6 months.
Hope to see some BFPs before the weekend with a few due to test :) fx

SoozC · 18/05/2016 12:14

Sorry af arrived, Eva, but glad you're looking at the positive side!

I have been feeling slightly nauseous (can't tell sometimes if feel sick or hungry!) all morning, had a brief slight light-headed feeling, really weak since about 11am, had a small and very, very light pink spotting once when I wiped. Now eating lunch to see if that helps. If I'm not pregnant my body is still doing weird things, maybe a virus?

twocatsandatoddler · 18/05/2016 12:28

sooz that's the same as me - I feel pregnant but test was BFN so either I just tested too soon or my body is up to something!

I got quite bad period-like pains last Sat which would be perfect timing for implantation and have been feeling the nauseous/hunger thing on and off since Sunday. So all signs say BFP is likely...but if I'm not then it means I won't be able to read anything into signs for future cycles!

FX for both of us and everyone else waiting to test.

Have to say I love the support on this thread - I'm quite new to MN (was a lurker for a few months before I started posting) and definitely enjoying the experience so far!

love2003 · 18/05/2016 12:46

I'm new to posting on here but have been following for a while. I'm ttc #1, cycle 2, I have been regular 27-29 day cycle since came off pill in September with one short 25 day cycle, more often I am 27days, based on this I was due AF on Monday but it has not arrived yet, have been feeling like it's coming since sat night tho. Have no preg symptoms whatsoever and have had 2 BFN's with clear blue tests.... Don't know what to think?!.... Any advice? Would rather AF arrived and could just move onto next cycle! Confused

SoozC · 18/05/2016 13:04

twocats, it sounds very similar! I haven't had bad hunger/sick feelings until today. I might ask to go home (luckily I'm not teaching today!) When is af due for you? I'm due between cd 29-31, so tomorrow until Saturday.

love - welcome! Af can be late for no reason, but perhaps try a frer if you think you're late? Fx for you!

I like these boards too. I love checking on here and seeing what the news is with you all! And you've all helped me to be more philosophical about each cycle so thank you!

twocatsandatoddler · 18/05/2016 13:27

sooz my cycle has been 27 days for the two months I've been off the pill, so am expecting AF on Saturday. Last time I came off pill to TTC my cycle was 27 or 28 days so could be Sunday I suppose, but definitely by the end of the weekend.

We have good friends staying this weekend so at least I'll be able to enjoy a few drinks with them if AF arrives!

SophieBear13 · 18/05/2016 13:54

[twocats] - I don't think it's silly to test early! I think whatever gets us through this TWW is absolutely fine! And your definitely not out yet so a big FX! I'm so impatient in general so I know I'll be testing early even though it's unlikely to show anything. The absolutely earliest I can test would be next Wednesday which would be 10dpo. Gah that seems such a long time away.

[Eva] - sorry to hear that AF has come Eva but on the upside at least you know you're cycles are already settled which is amazing. FX for next month!

[SoozC] - All of your symptoms sound very positive! Sorry to hear your feeling nauseous now that's the worst feeling ever. Id rather be actually sick than feeling sick. Definitely go home if you can. When do you plan to test?

[Sunny] - hope Tuesday comes soon for you! I'm only 4 days in and I'm already impatient! The earliest I can test is next Wednesday which seems very far away!

[Gin] - Welcome! You must be very excited!

[Love] -I would wait another couple of days and test again! You could be pregnant but it could be a late period due to stress or anything. My body really tricked me last month as I always come on early and I was almost a week late! Even though I knew it was very unlikely I was pregnant it came as a shock when AF did come.

I have a sore throat and neck ache today! I know it's not a symptom of anything as I'm only 4dpo but I'm glad I'm not at work today! I have almost no CM which doesn't seem like a good time! I can't test until next Wednesday at the very earliest so we will see! Gah.

love2003 · 18/05/2016 14:03

Thanks all, I know I'm maybe overthinking things, just very unusual for me - if anything I would be earlier rather than later. This ttc really is a roller coaster of emotions! I was trying to stay relaxed this month and not symptom spot etc and now this will stress me out, just when I thought I had got to grips with my cycle! Hmm

SunnyDays1987 · 18/05/2016 14:11

Does anyone else think that TTC just messes with your cycle for fun? I've started spotting very light pink or brown today at 8dpo. I know it could be implantation bleeding etc, but I can't help but think it's not and I don't get why this would just randomly happen this month!!! I had IB with my son at about 9dpo and I guess I could have OV a day later than I thought, but it just seems a bit weird. I'll be a bit concerned about my luteal phase if this is the start of AF. Angry TTC definitely is a rollercoaster!

SoozC · 18/05/2016 15:50

Thanks, sophie, at home now and feeling a little better. I'm due between tomorrow and Saturday, so will test Sunday if af not turned up by then. But I think she probably will. Fx for you - the tww can feel so long!

Sunny, now I'm actually thinking a lot about it, my cycles are very weird and my body is throwing anything and everything at me in an attempt to confuse me! Previous to ttc I was happily oblivious!
