Original relaxed thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2537105-relaxed-ttc-feb-march-april-2016

Hi all, thought I would start a new thread before we capped the earlier one. Here's hoping for more laid back BFPs and a bit of OT chat.

Everyone welcome, waiting to try, TTC, not preventing, being hopeful, and trying not to flip the fck out squinting at lines on sticks.

I always thought I'd have one by the time i was 30. Well that's this year and we are just starting so who knows what might happen!

SoozC · 16/05/2016 21:23

Thanks all, sorry to get a bit stressy - I've just remembered the title of this thread is RELAXED TTC, lol!

Just a quick, perhaps odd, question - do sore boobs count if you've just taken your bra off?!

sparkle789 · 16/05/2016 21:27

Well AF has arrived :( so I have no idea why I have been sick and nauseous, but trying to be positive my it makes my first cycle off the pill 32 days.

Im gutted and want chocolate and cake but I've got slimming world weigh in tomorrow so I'm in bed instead to stop me going into the kitchen.

wispaxmas · 16/05/2016 21:28

Sorry, sparkle Sad

wispaxmas · 16/05/2016 21:31

Posh, sorry, my only advice will be to put it out of your mind for at least 2 days and then test again and keep doing that until you get a positive or AF arrives, or if you cycle is so long without a + that it worries you and you go see the GP.

FX neon! My DD was born two days after my 30th, I was very bitter about not getting to celebrate it properly (something to keep in mind?)

Sooz I guess it depends if you usually get sore boobs before af? I know it's a sign for both but I've learnt my lesson from getting excited by it.

Sorry to hear that sparkle :(

SoozC · 16/05/2016 21:58

Sorry to hear it sparkle. Well done for sticking to SW though!

Thanks Alexia, I don't usually get sore boobs at all. But perhaps it's because they're a bit bigger usually towards af and my bra has been a little tighter than normal because of that. Not something I've really noticed before but then have I actually been looking for it?! I'll log it in my notes, rather than as a choice of the ff specifics.

AlexiaB · 17/05/2016 01:10

Yeah I'd keep a note of it Sooz. It's a good sign that you don't usually get sore boobs. Fx!

Update - I'm now on cd21 and I'm supposed to be ovulating but my CM is very dry and opks were negative today. Starting to believe now that maybe I really did ovulate early and on cd18 had an IB. Wouldn't place a bet on it though lol

SoozC · 17/05/2016 06:15

Fx for you, Alexia!

twocatsandatoddler · 17/05/2016 07:19

sooz sore boobs were the first symptom for me last time so definitely could be a sign. Depends whether that's a normal AF sign for you or not - it's not for me so I had a strong suspicion I was pregnant.

SunnyDays1987 · 17/05/2016 07:22

Sorry AF arrived sparkle. I'm pretty sure it's common to have loads of crazy hormones in the first month you come off the pill as your body is readjusting to getting back to normal. It's great you're having a normal cycle straight away though. It took me nearly 8 weeks to get my first period after coming off. Retrospectively I wish I'd have left it 6 months or so to let my hormones settle back down before I started TTC. None of my cycles were the same at all so it made it really hard to know what was going on. Anyways, don't be too hard on yourself.

I've had a quick read of the deadline stuff. I personally have always wanted two kids before I got to 30. I'm 29 this summer so there's still chance. But I'm also very aware that life doesn't always go the way that you planned. I'm currently a SAHM so we might have to consider a cut off if I'm not getting pregnant, simply because I don't know how long we can afford to live on one wage for. But it's hard to know how you're going to feel until you're in the thick of things I think!

twocats are you still feeling optimistic it's your month?!

Eva30 · 17/05/2016 08:03

Jenny, sorry AF came, I think that bitch is coming for me too (today or tomorrow).
Sooz don't be disappointed, everything will work out just fine in the end. Don't look back look forwards.
I moved house over the weekend which was mega stressful (into a 'project house'), I'm hoping the stress doesn't affect my cycles, just keep telling myself to chill out!!
We need to see some BFPs on here to give us all a boost.

twocatsandatoddler · 17/05/2016 08:06

sunny yes I'm getting more and more optimistic. I've been feeling hungry and nauseous the last few days. I think it's still too early to test though, I got BFN when I tested around this time last time. Might try an early test first thing tomorrow morning if I really can't wait but still trying to hold off until Friday.

We didn't really have a deadline but decided to TTC #1 when I turned 30 as we felt that was a good age. I went away with a group of friends for my birthday and I'd drunkenly told a few friends we might be thinking about it, it was then very obvious when I wasn't drinking a few weeks later!

SunnyDays1987 · 17/05/2016 08:10

How many DPO are you now twocats?

twocatsandatoddler · 17/05/2016 08:28

About 10dpo I think - didn't bother with OPKs or temping so can't be sure but I have a 27 day cycle so there's not much wiggle room in OV day really!

dynia · 17/05/2016 08:38

So, got woken up last night by water coming from the ceiling (thanks neighbours!) and AF. Then woke up crying because my hip hurt so badly.

But at least I know everything is working okay, just taking its sweet time about it. Started temping again just to know where things stand. I have an autoimmune disease which might make my temps inaccurate so may do OPKs as well.

SunnyDays1987 · 17/05/2016 08:42

Ooh you're in the business end of things for definite then twocats. Really hope it's BFP week for you then. Do you think you're more in tune with your body for the second time?

Sorry about AF dynia and the ceiling and hip. Not the best night for you!

sparkle789 · 17/05/2016 09:09

I didn't realise that sunny, would certainly explain it.

I'm having a real panic today about having a third. I supposed it's head vs heart. Dd1 will be at least 10 as dd2 nearly 4 if I get pregnant this cycle. Things are just starting to get easier, we are OK financially, I'm feeling like my old self and I'm scared of the impact of another baby but my heart aches for another child. I overthink everything and am driving myself crazy!

twocatsandatoddler · 17/05/2016 09:12

Not really sunny, I think I'm probably pregnant because this time round I know what being pregnant feels like and I feel the same as I did last time, but my body has changed so much post pregnancy and birth that I don't trust it like I used to! I wouldn't be surprised if it was playing tricks on me, but it does look hopeful. Will update when I test!

SunnyDays1987 · 17/05/2016 10:06

Sparkle I'm kind of feeling the same about having a second. DS is 16 months and the thought of going back to being up all night every night is a killer. I also think about how much easier life would be with just one. But I think I'd always slightly regret staying at one. I don't know though. What does your DH think?

Yeah I know what you mean. I definitely don't feel the same as usual but DS is just coming out of a really bad sleep spell so I don't know if I'm just tired and feeling crap because of that. I can't wait until you test! Hope this week goes fast and the limbo of the TWW ends for us soon!

sparkle789 · 17/05/2016 11:34

He really wants another but has said only if it's right for us both and is ok if we don't ttc. So it my decision really if we stop or not.

SophieBear13 · 17/05/2016 12:56

SoozC I had mega sore boobs last cycle and I was convinced I was pregnant even though we were planning for starting this cycle. It was horrible because I never get them that badly. But if you don't usually then that seems to be a very, very good indicator of a BFP! FX. How long to wait now? With deadline we don't have one at the moment but I am such an impatient person so this trait is definitely not going to help me!! I think whatever works for each person whether it be a timeline, symptom spotting or anything else. This journey is really stressful whether we try to relax or not! I didn't think I'd be married and TTC at 25 or that I would have made such a drastic career change either. Life is odd.

Dynia- sorry to hear that but at least you know that you can now start another cycle! I feel like the wait is the worst part! How's your diss going?

Sunny- hope the wait goes quickly for you! I've just started mine and I'm so impatient!! Which do you think you would regret more? Only you can decide but I often find that if I think of it that way it gets clearer.

Twocats- you know your body best! I'm keeping FX for you- how exciting!

Eva- how exciting!! I think moving house is the most stressful thing you can do but your project will be so worth it! And at least you've got something to focus on and put all your energy into!

Alexis- that makes sense- FX for you? How much longer do you need to wait for?

Very exciting to have all these potential BFP!

Eva30 · 17/05/2016 13:36

Thanks Sophie, definitely something to keep me busy.
Ladies, I'm now 15dpo and still no AF. I thought I could feel it coming but still no sign. Did a test yesterday and neg. I did an OPK on 2nd May and was definitely positive (very dark line). Do you think AF is just taking her time? I read online that AF will come between 12-16 days after ov. Had no preg signs so pretty sure I'm not. I just want to crack on with the next cycle!

AlexiaB · 17/05/2016 14:34

Thank you Sophie :) I downloaded Ovia this morning after reading here and realised I stupidly had my dates wrong this month! I'm actually on cd22 and in fact had spotting/potential IB on cd19 not cd17 which is actually a bit more realistic. My CM is a bit more obvious today though so going to dtd to cover all possibilities just in case!

Where's your cycle at atm? Are you 25 and ttc #1? I am too :)

Eva the wait is awful but it's not over until AF so try to stay positive :) Many people having no symptoms or don't show + until later. Fx you get an answer soon!
