Original relaxed thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2537105-relaxed-ttc-feb-march-april-2016

Hi all, thought I would start a new thread before we capped the earlier one. Here's hoping for more laid back BFPs and a bit of OT chat.

Everyone welcome, waiting to try, TTC, not preventing, being hopeful, and trying not to flip the fck out squinting at lines on sticks.

Sophie, I had no EWCM this cycle either. Bit odd. Am now 8dpo, just POAS and of course it was negative! But I feel fine about it, I was certainly expecting it! It's just I've had so many symptoms that I've never had (or at least noticed), I thought I'd just see. I have two IC ones left I might use in the next week.

wispaxmas · 14/05/2016 14:36

I have a god damn UTI. It's soooooo uncomfortable and my GP refused to give me ABs as she said it may clear on its own. I'm sure they used to prescribe then over the phone without needing to confirm with a test last time I had one. I am SO ANNOYED.

Anyways, now making me less relaxed as I thought UTIs needed to be treated asap if pregnant and even though I'm just in the TWW I'm irrationally worried.

Hi wispaxmas. I know that- i mentioned it because this month was different to my usual EWCM because it was more watery and not very stretchy at all which is unusual for me personally. I think Ovia may be slighty off and i ovulated earlier or will ovulate later than usual. We will see!

SophieBear13 · 14/05/2016 15:11

SoozC i had to look up what POAS was! Haha. Yeah i dont know why mine is so different this month?! Could be to do with the travelling. This is our first cycle so i feel like it's very unlikely! Hopefully it was just too early and you get a different result next time you test!

AlexiaB · 14/05/2016 15:51

Hi ladies,

This is my first ever post on mumsnet! Not sure if I'm in the right thread but hope you don't mind me joining in.

My stats:
Age- 25 DH 30
TTC- baby#1
Cycle- I've lost count!

Been TTC on and off since March 2015. Had a stressful move inbetween and my irregular cycle means I've wasted time trying to predict ovulation. Never even imagined baby making would ever be this stressful/hard!

My heart goes out to all you ladies TTC. Fingers crossed this month is our monthSmile

AlexiaB · 14/05/2016 16:33

So this is actually bizarre. Can anyone please advise me?

I'm on cd17 today. My last cycle was 35 days, and the month before my cycle was 42 days (due to stress I believe). I can never predict ovulation so I just decided to take a home ovulation test after posting here and being inspired by some posts I had read. The test showed a line, not too dark but not that faint either - but the craziest thing was when I then wiped myself there was blood on the tissue!! I'm so confused. Sorry if tmi but it's like the light red blood you get when you catch the start of your period before it gets heavier.

Nothing like this has honestly ever happened to me before. I only get blood when I start my period. I'm only on cd 17 today and thought I'd be ovulating soon :( !! I've not got some cramping.

Please if anyone can try to explain this I'd be really grateful xx

dynia · 14/05/2016 16:37

AF due tomorrow. Have been a bit ill this week (stress related) and my husband keeps joking that it's good practice for pregnancy.

SoozC · 14/05/2016 17:07

No idea I'm afraid, Alexia, but I didn't want to read and run! Try not to worry, it could be a freakishly short cycle for no reason; I've given up trying to understand my body!

dynia fx that af doesn't arrive for you! Keep us posted :)

SoozC · 14/05/2016 17:10

Oh, and wispa, sorry to hear about your infection, try not to worry. It is annoying though - some ABs would make you feel less uncomfortable. Hope it clears up soon.

Thanks, Sophie, can you tell I'm trying not to obsess?! Lol

twocatsandatoddler · 14/05/2016 17:54

Sorry to hear that wispa, I suffer from them a lot and they're horrible. I find drinking as much water as I can makes a big difference. Hope you feel better soon Flowers

BuffaloCustardbath · 14/05/2016 19:56

Sorry to hear you've got an infection wispa, they make you feel rotten.

Agh, I've just tried to remember some names to write specific messages to people but I've forgotten them now!

My fingers are firmly crossed for lots more BFPs soon - I'm going to do another CB digi in the morning to see if it's moved to 2-3 weeks.

AlexiaB · 14/05/2016 20:18

Thank you very much SoozC. It might be a very early period although it does seem to be going away atm. I'm desperately clinging on to hope that I've ovulated very early like cd11 or something. Good luck to you Xx

wispaxmas · 14/05/2016 20:23

Thanks, everyone!

Alexia, I'm not really sure, but I know you can get lines on OPKs all throughout your cycle, but they're only as dark as or darker than the control line when you have the LH surge. As for the red tinge, I think I've heard of ovulation spotting, so maybe it was that? Honestly, I think you might be overthinking it (easy to say, I know it's a total nightmare trying to get a handle on TTC), so might be better off just DTD every couple days. I'd personally only use OPKs in conjunction with temping, but I know that's a step too far for a lot of people, especially if you want to be relaxed about it. I find temping lets me stay relaxed, though, because it stops me second guessing everything. Might work for you if you find you have trouble pinpointing ovulation..

Hey wispaxmas, thank you so much for your reply. I've since read about your UTI, ouch! Hope it clears up very soon for you!

I've done some research and agree I don't think the opk was a positive due to its colour. I might be going mad but do you think it's possible that I've ovulated much earlier than I was expecting to cycle - around cd11 and that today I had implantation bleeding? I don't know if any of you girls have experienced IB before but here's what I had - it was only ever visible when I wiped myself, was pink in colour, not heavy enough to get on my pad and it has disappeared now after 6 hours.

I know I'm driving myself mad but it's so hard not to isn't it? It's our 5th Wedding Anniversary early next month and I'd love to be able to give my DH the best present ever!

SunnyDays1987 · 15/05/2016 08:01

Hope the UTI calms down soon wispa. Welcome to the new people, hope to see some BFPs soon!

I'm getting bored of the TWW now. Only about 5dpo.

TheresaMarie55 · 15/05/2016 08:33

Wispa uti is pants, hope you're feeling better soon.

Alexia, I can ovulate anywhere between cycle day 9 and cycle 15 so it is possible to go ovulate very early in the cycle. I don't temp or use ovulation sticks but do use cm as a little indicator. Sometimes I get the obvious ewcm but sometimes just lots of the watery stuff (sorry for tmi).

I'm just trying to dtd every other day from when my AF end up until around cycle day 16. Easier said than done though with our 3 and 1 year old daughters in the house and a 13 year old stepson who's been here a lot lately lol. We've been managing to not leave more than two days between dtd and are averaging 3 times a week though so fingers crossed we've covered all basis this time! This is my 1st/2nd cycle. The first one, I came off the pill, had a bleed a few days later, had a couple of weeks no bleed then a heavy period so I don't think I'm really counting it as a proper cycle. X

TheresaMarie55 · 15/05/2016 08:35

Also I'm just beginning the tww. I'm cycle day 16 and no idea when I've ovulated. I'm thinking it was around cycle day 12 but can't be sure. I'll not test until the 28th as o know I should get AF by then x

dynia · 15/05/2016 11:01

So....for the last two months (since coming off minipill) I've woken up on CD28 with my period. Today is CD28 and no sign of it. I realise logically that 2 months is an insufficient data set but it is a bit funny.

Thoughts on when to test if no sign?

SophieBear13 · 15/05/2016 11:01

I've heard a UTI can be a symptom of pregnancy wispa?

So after I posted on this threat I literally got the EWCM accompanied by some cramping/ ovulation pain. So I think DH and I may have missed the boat this month as we DTD when we felt like it which happened to be 3 days and 2 days before OV. I'm still getting it today a little bit so it might not be too late we will see. I find I usually get the EWCM on the day I ovulate.

Not using OPKs or anything like that yet so it's a bit of a guessing game.

On the upside I am enjoying a lovely latte by the pool in sunny Tenerife today.

SoozC · 15/05/2016 12:10

Lucky Sophie! I made do with a cappuccino by the river Thames in the sunshine!

Really hungry right now. Had a yoghurt and a coffee two hours ago, I guess that wasn't enough! So trying not to read into it as a symptom! I'm not doing very well at this being objective malarkey.

dynia · 15/05/2016 12:13

Lucky ducks with your coffees in the sunshine. I'm catching up on some marking at the office today but had brunch this am and am off to yoga tonight.

SophieBear13 · 15/05/2016 12:48

That sounds lovely too SoozC! I'm trying not to obsess over whether we were too early this cycle!

Dynia yoga is a great idea! We can all do with it on this crazy journey!

wispaxmas · 15/05/2016 14:27

sophie, I'm only 4dpo, any fertilised egg wouldn't have implanted yet, so any potential symptom I have is down to higher levels of progesterone, which I'd have in any literal phase anyway. No, it's a symptom of having had sex a couple days in a row and not going to have a pee immediately afterwards AngryAngryAngry

I'm going to attempt to distract you all from the TWW with a photo of my dog (the real Wispa) giving a lamb a kiss through some steps at a farm this morning.

You're welcome, just doing my part to keep the mind off TTC - anyone else have a good distraction?

OP posts:
dynia · 15/05/2016 14:46

Oh my goodness, that's adorable! We had a visitor yesterday who brought her dog - the cat was not amused but I got some good snuggles.

No sign of period so I think I might pop to the shops on the way home from the office and buy a test for tomorrow morning (or a cheap one for tonight, and the good one for tomorrow morning?). It's a Sunday so shouldn't run into any colleagues but may wear disguise just in case.
