Original relaxed thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2537105-relaxed-ttc-feb-march-april-2016

Hi all, thought I would start a new thread before we capped the earlier one. Here's hoping for more laid back BFPs and a bit of OT chat.

Everyone welcome, waiting to try, TTC, not preventing, being hopeful, and trying not to flip the fck out squinting at lines on sticks.

sparkle interesting about the length of time it took you to conceive each. Might well be an argument for you trying to be more relaxed this time!

Sorry to anyone I've not mentioned. Lots of messages today Smile

Starmist · 15/04/2016 19:42

Chelle hello twin Grin

Gummy I love a spreadsheet too, I get quite excited by them, people at work think I'm weird! What's BBT?

NJ81 · 15/04/2016 19:54

Cheesemom - same here with OH. He's relaxed about trying and says it will happen when it does. Easy to say when you're not the one with the harmones and checking every time you go to the loo!
Thanks Sparkle... Think I'm going to do a test in the morning. Boobs not mega sore but definitely tender which is not normal for me. No other symptoms but then before I miscarried I didn't have anything or even know until 8 wks!

wispaxmas · 15/04/2016 20:23

NJ, absolutely no symptoms I wouldn't have thought were AF!

OP posts:
NJ81 · 15/04/2016 20:34

Thanks wispa. I've had some AF type pain but I don't usual suffer and it feels very different to normal. Easy answer would be test, just felt the disappointment before so hanging off. Silly I know!

SunnyDays1987 · 15/04/2016 20:49

NJ I was exactly the same. I put it off for as long as I coupe because I was paranoid about seeing a BFN. In the end I caved in the middle of the night! Good luck!

SunnyDays1987 · 15/04/2016 20:49

*could

SoozC · 15/04/2016 22:24

7dpo, no symptoms except really tired for the past three days.

Welcome newbies! I'm lurking, if not always commenting. Can't wait to see some BFPs on here!

FluffyPickleMonster · 15/04/2016 23:12

Oooooh hello can I join you please ladies?! I'm new to MN altogether and this looks like a friendly happy positive place to stop!
About me.....
Age 32
TTC #1
cycle #1

Hoping you can give me some advice pretty please. I've been off the pill for 13months and my AF has between 24 and 26 days apart, except for two cycles ago when it was 31days but put this down to wedding stress. I average 25 days, last AF was 31 days ago and is now 5days late. According to OPK I did on honeymoon I'm 20dpo. Ok so here's my dilemma, I'm too scared to take a test! I was being so relaxed about ttc but didn't expect my first AF to be late. Only did OPK as had no idea when I ovulate due to short cycle, plan was going to do it once then chill out again. I don't know if my mind is playing tricks on me and I've been imaging my symptoms- tender boobs, acid reflux, appetite like a horse, slight brief nausea, bloating, cramping and I'm so hot too. Maybe I'm always like that but never noticed?! I had that 31 day cycle so I'm thinking that this could just be a repeat of that and these are all AF symptoms too. Would you test if you were me? I can't decide if I should in the morning or not.
Are any of you managing to stay relaxed about ttc??

Lykke1000 · 15/04/2016 23:23

Fluffy I would most definitely test if I were you!

FluffyPickleMonster · 15/04/2016 23:34

Thanks Lykke, I don't think I'm brave enough! We all that want positive result first time don't we but the chances of that happening are pretty slim. If I hadn't have had that random 31 day cycle before I would be feeling more optimistic I guess. I've felt like AF has been coming for a fortnight. Arggggh I'm such a control freak I hate this already!!

cheesemumma · 16/04/2016 04:36

Hi fluffy,

Depends what you mean about relaxed. My first two cycles I was a symptom spotting demon. I had convinced myself and my dh that I was pregnant clearly why he doesn't want to talk to me about it anymore. But now I know that anything I spot it probs just af. However, when af flow is late, like today, I still can't help that glimmer of hope from rising and imagination wondering even with a bfn. Even though I know she's gonna turn up. And im ALWAYS disappointed when she does.

So yeah, not always completely relaxed.

NJ- I know. I know it's at the back of his mind as well. He just doesn't want to get hopes up. But yeah we're super aware of any sign or af. I cry at everything for last couple of cycles and in my head am like oooooo maybe im preggers. Shed a little tear in work loo yesterday when I thought period had come. It's a tough ol' business hey!

NJ81 · 16/04/2016 06:32

Fluffy I would test (although saying that I'm holding off too to avoid a BFN).

Cheese have you tested? There will be month for us all where we're in total shock at not having the disappointment. Positive thoughts.

Keep us updated both of you ☺️

FluffyPickleMonster · 16/04/2016 07:17

Cheese- imagination has a lot to answer for but at the same time you need to have hope too, positive mental attitude and all that jazz. I've been holding my bloated stomach in the mirror, evening though I know it's full of pizza and all the junk I've been eating, prob just AF cravings. I think it's ok to picture what we're all working towards but I can see how ttc can completely take over your life. Sending you lots of positive vibes.

NJ- I'm currently lying in bed desperate for a wee and still haven't decided to test or not! Saw your earlier comment about checking every time you go to the loo, I'm the same except I'm just avoiding peeing for as long as I can each day incase AF is lurking in the bathroom for me! I hope you get the BFP this time, like you said to Cheese, it will happen one month for us all.

NJ81 · 16/04/2016 07:28

Fluffy, also laid in bed having the same debate...! X

FluffyPickleMonster · 16/04/2016 07:32

Now sat on the edge of the bath! Getting closer and have legs crossed!

NJ81 · 16/04/2016 07:36

Huge good luck! ☺️

FluffyPickleMonster · 16/04/2016 07:38

I've peed! Have hidden the stick. This is torture!

Lykke1000 · 16/04/2016 07:47

Fluffy?? Well then? Cmon!

FluffyPickleMonster · 16/04/2016 07:50

Eeeeeeek!!!! I wasn't expecting this! Smile

NJ81 · 16/04/2016 07:54

Ah massive congratulations!! ☺️

FluffyPickleMonster · 16/04/2016 07:58

Thanks NJ! Maybe it's that month you were telling us about, good luck to you if you decide to poas. Sending happy thoughts

NJ81 · 16/04/2016 08:06

Thanks. Peed but no luck. Although control line is almost out of box and hidden... Try again in another few days. Regular as clockwork and 3 days late with very sore boobs... No sign of AF...

FluffyPickleMonster · 16/04/2016 08:12

What does it mean if control line is doing that? Dodgy test? Fingers and toes crossed for you Smile

SunnyDays1987 · 16/04/2016 08:20

Yey!!! Congratulations fluffy!!! If I had of had chance to reply I would have said you definitely sounded pregnant to me. I was bloated as hell for the first few weeks of pregnancy and the sore boobs kicked in pretty fast as well!!

NJ sorry about the BFN. What kind of test are you using? Did you take a picture?
