Thread for anyone TTC for over ten months. Please feel free to join us!

Took the liberty of starting a new thread (with what is obviously a brilliant piece of rhyme!) as I assume everyone else is sleeping peacefully right now :)

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend?

I had a dream last night that I went to my follow up appointment on my own and the consultant did a scan (?) and then said 'right, so your test day is 30th April' and it turned out while he was scanning he just popped one of our Frosties in!
DH and I then came back demanding to see him as we were so confused and angry because now we were going to lose our NHS turn! Lol. Xx

Lucie I don't know if it helps but I got a 2-3 and then a 3+ on the same day about 15 hours apart so shows how rubbish they are. They gave me kittens all the time as they never worked to my dates.

Sammylou that sounds a lot like a natural conception dream to me! Apparently that's a real thing...

Lol - itsme, I'd love that to be the case, but I only just got a positive ok yesterday so I don't think it's possible! Xx

Hi everyone!

Apologies for the absence. Had another essay to get done by this morning but that's thankfully now gone too :)

Some fab May wedding weather stories! I'm crossing my fingers we'll have a dry day too!

Catch up time...

Stealth Fab news on FET! Very exciting! I've got everything crossed for you :) Hope you enjoyed your pre-PUPO rebellion!

Boris Hope you've had/are having (??) a good time!

Trixie have you decided about getting the immunes privately now or are you still thinking about it?

Banana I can understand why you'd like to throw everything at your next go, and get everything checked beforehand. I'm sorry about your numbers still being up. It must be so hard. Hoping they've dropped when you go first your appointment today. It also must be hard to have the results postponed Til Wednesday after building yourself up to get them today. I hope you're OK.

LUCIE!! Glad to see you! I hope you're OK. I can imagine that you're very nervous right now, and I am thinking of you. Try not to worry about the cb digi. I've also heard they're wildly inaccurate.

Sammy what a strange dream! Hmm mm. .. perhaps a positive opk yesterday will lead to a different positive on the 30th....

Waves to itsme, Star, Brenna, Rebecca and anyone I've missed!

AFM, AF due in a couple of days, though I'm not sure exactly when as I've not temped or anything this month, and since effectively giving up on the natural approach I'm not even that bothered about it, which is good! I've also gotten over my childish 'I want to do a round of ivf before May' tantrum and am pouring everything onto finishing my course and wrapping up wedding plans :)

I'm other news, I somehow aced the james joyce essay and walked away with a distinction. RAWR!!!!! Smile

WEll done MPP. Doing a course, working, planning a wedding and TTC all at once is a lot and you have done well acing your essay.

6DPO. Gearing up for Mum coming to stay this coming weekend. It is likely to be stressful and full on. Fingers crossed it goes well.

Well done on the distinction MPP! You rock!

Hope everyone else is OK - thinking of you this week Banana and Lucie.

Sammy, hope that dream was a good omen! I feel you on the waiting. It's horrible - hope you're doing OK.

Brenna, hope your mum's visit goes well. I am also 8 DPO though I'm not expecting anything different to the past 15 months ... Instead my aim this month is to deal with my monster PMS to which end I'm guzzling Omega and have cut down on sugar (albeit dinner on Saturday night was a slice of cake).

Waves to everyone else

PS Can I tell you all something that's cheered me up? A friend is planning an amazing holiday next May for her 40th. My 40th (eek) will also be around then. I've told her that I'm up for it. So if I'm in the same position next year, I will at least have something really fabulous to look forward to (walking holiday followed by vineyards and restaurants). It might sound really trivial but it's cheered me up massively to think of the future as containing good things, and things that I can actually plan and do, and not just more hope and disappointments.

I hope that doesn't sound annoying, especially to anyone who's going through very tough stuff right now. I'm not suggesting this to anyone else, and I reserve the right to punch anyone who suggests the magic cure-all of 'a holiday' (as someone did last week - yes, thanks for that original thought). But at the same time, just having it to look forward to has given me a boost.

I think that sounds brillia Rebecca. Something to look forward to is a great thing to have.

Nice one Mpp!

Sammy I've been having weird ass dreams too - something in the air?!

Rebecca that holiday sounds ACE

Trixie good question on how many blasts would we want to bank. It's on my list of questions for the consultant in my notebook of doom; I asked Dr Sher on his open forum how many he recommended, and he said 6 blasts. So will be interesting to see what my Dr recommends

Just got my hCG back from the bloods earlier today. hCG is going down at a snails pace - only gone down bloody 35% in the space of 4 days Sad

Thu - 420
Mon - 270

The ERPC was 4 weeks ago!! That's the same beta as when I was 4 months pregnant FFS. At this rate it's going to be a couple of weeks before I even get a BFN on a HPT.

Secretary said Dr was pleased it was going in the right direction, but would probably get me to repeat it on Weds, and that we'd discuss more in my appt Weds morning.

I just want this miscarriage to be frigging over.

RebeccaNoodles · 11/04/2016 16:51

Thanks Brenna. It's a kind of Plan B I suppose. I mean, come back to me in two weeks when I'm feeling low again post AF and don't care about a stupid holiday, but meanwhile it's nice to have.

What do you have planned with your mum? Why will it be stressful? I mean aside from the usual stress of relatives' visits ... Hope all goes OK.

I just want this miscarriage to be over

I've not bled for 3 weeks
There's no retained products
There's no molar pregnancy
There's no pregnancy of any kind
The baby was removed 4 weeks ago

I just want my body to let the fuck go of being pregnant. So I can get on with the business of trying to bloody get pregnant!Angry

Can I tell you all what's cheered me up too? I see the consultant in TWO days to talk about my ivf round on the NHS. Too excited I finally feel like we are taking our first proper steps on our journey to becoming a family (I've written off the previous 2 years of trying...) ha! I'll keep you updated with when we have a firm date we start treatment. Do you start on the first day of a cycle? In which case we could get started as early as 20th May!!

Itsme247 · 11/04/2016 17:56

Banana I can't tell you how frustrated I am for you, at least you know there's nothing stopping you from becoming un-pregnant .. Just time for your body to catch up.

Report
bananafish81 · 11/04/2016 18:03

it's me that's brilliant!! It depends what protocol you're going to be on. The 'standard' protocol that most people will be on is the long protocol, which starts on day 21 of your cycle - you have 2-3 weeks of down regulating before you start stims drugs. The short protocol (generally used for high AMH / PCOS and low AMH /diminished ovarian reserve alike) starts on day 2 of your cycle.

So excited for you to get going!!!

Banana my niece was a bit like that. She didn't have an EPRC but it took her nearly 6 weeks to get her HCG levels down. She was so fed up by the end.

Mum's visit is going to be difficult because I do not match up to her high standards and she does the very passive agressive snippy 'helpful' comments that really grind me down. Plus she is in Scotland to visit my brother and SIL's new baby so I am going to have to listen to all the raving about how wonderful they are and how happy having a family makes you. And it is less than 4 weeks to my due date so it is the last thing I want to think about right now. Plus my dog hates her and has tried to bite her before after she wouldn't leave him alone, so I am going to have to keep them apart. And my house is not that tidy right now, so I have to get that done before friday.

Best of luck Itsme that is brilliant. Everything crossed for you.

It'sme, that's exciting. So many of you starting cycles soon.

Banana, so frustrating but glad your numbers are going down, you'll be back on it very soon.

Can I let you all know that I had an early scan today and all is going well.

Oh and I want to start a campaign to have CB digis banned, they cause more stress than they should. At the very least they need a health warning to say how unsensative they are and how variable readings can be.

loopylou1984 · 11/04/2016 21:39

Boris! Congratulations on the scan. Glad everything is well. How many weeks is that?

Lol - thanks everyone. I very much doubt it means anything, but at least it gave me something to tell you all about! I have no real news right now!

Had my second Accupuncture today, and think I may have ovd today but have given up temping so I don't know for sure. I've been trying really hard to eat more protein too, and, well to generally eat more calories too... It's tough.
Our follow up appointment is on Friday. If it's ok with you guys I'm going to post my lust of questions at some point so you guys can add to it/correct me where you think appropriate? Xx

lucieloos · 11/04/2016 21:54

Boris, that's brilliant news, so pleased for you! Did you have trouble with the CB digis too? I'm too scared to try again now will just wait for the scan.

Sammy, sounds like everything is going well with you and well done on the protein! Definitely post your list up and we can all help.

Banana, so sorry to hear about your hcg. I hope this last bit goes quickly for you so that you can move forward. When I asked dr sher how many embryos to bank to stand a chance of a decent one he said at least 4. I always had the number 6 in my head though it just seems like a good number to give you a good chance of a few good uns. Good luck for your spot on Wednesday.

Brenna, hope your mums visit isn't as bad as anticipated. That must be hard with your SIL baby and due date so close.

Itsme, brilliant that you have your NHS appt this week! That's very exciting and hopefully things will move quickly for you then. Where are you cycling again?

Rebecca, that sounds like a brilliant plan with the 40th birthday holiday. It's definitely good to have things like that to look forward to when going through all this.

MPP, brilliant news on James Joyce Smile Hope the final wedding plans are going well.

Pikz, thanks for the reassurance about the digis, hate them!

Nothing much from me, still having the odd bit of spotting but definitely a lot better than it was. I've booked in for the scan on Wednesday so then we shall see!

lucie that all sounds most promising! Everything crossed for you. Will report back with recommendation from my consultant about how many blasts we should be aiming to bank. Obv we have the four untested frosties so it's a bit of an unknown quantity really. I just hope we can even make blasts and my response last time wasn't a total fluke!!
