Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount!

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kats stats I am resident piss stick queen and if you don't test, you get a Starky's Star

When you post stats, add your predicted test/af date. We are currently running at about 49% pregnant with the grads thread over in ante-natal which we all hope to join soon.

WE SHALL WIN IN THE GAME OF SPERM MEETS EGG! IT WILL HAPPEN!

Looking at that list, I think i am very happy how it has shrunk with all the graduates!

Am also glad we have the new comers and some oldies to continue on the adventure!

(...still waiting for AF...)

If people don't mind, i think i would like to issue a challenge to all of us..... we all should do something this weekend to treat ourselves. Can be mini (i'm personally thinking soak in the bath with a good book and a glass of wine) but i think we all deserve it.

Anyone want to take me up on the challenge?

Evergreen17 · 14/04/2016 09:02

Hep I have been quite good at treating myself lately Grin
Otherwise this TTC is just hell
But you guys should do it!!!!

InspectorPenguin · 14/04/2016 09:07

Hep that sounds lovely but I don't think I have any issue treating myself so it probably doesn't apply to me. I'm not giving up anything I enjoy until I absolutely HAVE to!

I've just calculated it to be CD22 here and not a sniff of a sign of ovulation so far this cycle. I've done a smattering of OPKs and they have all been as white as the snow. I sometimes wonder if I will ever see a second line on anything!!
Oh well, it's sunny and I am working from home so plenty to be cheery about :)

Hope everyone has a lovely Thursday!

LovelyFishy · 14/04/2016 09:09

I think I'm treating myself now! DH and I are just cooking egg and bacon muffins together, the sun is shining and I am very happy! Grin

FXSkip · 14/04/2016 09:24

Lol Ni classic!! jam I am on cycle 6, and twinky my cycles have been 39, 31, 30, 29 and 28. Pretty sure I'm not going to be actually fertile until they settle and are the same length for a few months so I'm just not even getting my hopes up anymore. It's a rough transition, retraining your brain to a new perspective but I feel much better when I am focused on my life rather than TTC - that's not to say I don't have the occasional wobble though!! Xx

islandgirl99 · 14/04/2016 10:10

Hep that's one challenge that I'm definitely up for! Does it need to be limited to just one treat though?! I'm thinking of making a bit of a weekend of it Grin

Unfortunately I'm not allowed any wine this weekend as I'm on antibiotics (the result of a dental appt last week, ouch), but I'm thinking I'll make up for it in other ways. I already have takeaway on my list, probably tomorrow night, and dh is away for a boys day of watching football on Saturday so I'm thinking I might go shopping to pick up some holiday clothes then eat cake. The only difficult decision now is to decide what sort of takeaway to go for...

kavanaughkj · 14/04/2016 10:26

Hep, I'm always only too happy to treat myself. I think that may be part of my problem Blush - I'm a sugar fiend! Was trying so hard not to indulge yesterday but felt utterly wiped out in the afternoon despite having had an early night the night before. Ended up resorting to Lucozade and a Crunchie to get me through the rest of the afternoon. Had family over in the evening - I adore my sister's kids, they are such sweeties, but it increasingly reminds me of what I don't yet have and would really really like. My niece is gorgeous and huggy and I want a mini her of my own. Oh well.

On perhaps a slightly TMI note, anybody here ever have problems working out if their cervix is open or not? I'm trying to track in Fertility Friend, and while I've never really had problems working out if it's high or low, soft or firm, I'm beginning to worry that I'm perma-shut as I don't think I've ever felt it open. I've read some people saying you should be able to fit a fingertip in the opening if it's open - I have kind of a dimple that is sometimes more pronounced than others, but I can't say I've ever been able to fit a fingertip in.

Tons of EWCM at the mo. I think I'm due to ovulate tomorrow ... thankfully this month DH is actually here for me to jump on at the appropriate time!!

Jamjar12 · 14/04/2016 10:32

You're not alone kav, I could never figure out the cervix thing! I just went by CM and OPKs to figure out my basic cycle and after a few months, I kind of felt that I knew on instinct when it was all happening. Never managed to work out the difference in how my cervix felt though! Always seemed the same to me but I didn't have any idea what I was doing just poking around in there! Grin

HepKestrel · 14/04/2016 10:42

Kav i never could figure out cervix either.

OPK and CM for me.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 14/04/2016 10:48

kav my cervix confused me, I poked it twice then gave up! Definetly dtd today, tomorrow and the day after, it will give the sperm a chance to get in the right position, read and waiting!

Had my booking in appt yesterday, nothing much to report other, midwife is good and has been delivering babies longer than I've been alive! But no blood tests or anything till 12 weeks, scan etc likely all done on the same day!

Still got weird cramps, and a top tip, if you're not already a water drinker, get chugging!

islandgirl99 · 14/04/2016 10:53

kav I never worked out the whole cervix thing either. TBH, I didn't really have much of a clue what i was doing, i sometimes thought i could tell the high/low bit but much like jam i was just poking about!

kavanaughkj · 14/04/2016 12:34

Hee. Well it's good to know I'm not the only one poking around without a clue what they're feeling! You'd think we'd all be intimately familiar with their own bodies but it wasn't until I got together with DH that I even realised that thing at the top of my vagina was my cervix. Oy. Still, with upduffed ladies confirming you hadn't a clue either that makes me feel a bit more positive!

The pic made me laugh, Starky! The little faces on them are brilliant ... and actually I do think it helped me a bit with identification :) As for dtd - already taken care of today _ ... I'm expecting peak fertility tomorrow morning on the clearblue monitor so DH will be expecting to be jumped on.

I never drink enough water. Have been trying lately and having camomile tea instead of regular PG Tips, but find water so boring.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 14/04/2016 14:48

kav I didn't have any cm at all,and not a clue where my cervix was. I'm still not entirely certain when I ovulated (within a 5 day window) and I still don't believe I'm pregnant even though according to apps I'm 8 weeks. I've had one bad day but other than that, I've got it into my head that it's probably a mmc or something. Despite having no evidence at all to support this, I'm just convinced I won't be lucky enough to get a baby.

I've said it before, ill say it again, pregnancy (especially this bit) is shroedingering on acid. I'm glad to not be suffering but it doesn't make you any less psychotic guys!

I had some decaf tea yesterday and was surprised by how lovely it was!

OP posts:
HepKestrel · 14/04/2016 15:16

ha starky

i think thats the one thing i will struggle with - cutting down on tea! Can reduce to maybe 1-2 cups, which i think would be ok. tried in the past to give it up for lent - the worst headaches!!!!!

I am hep and i am a tea addict.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 14/04/2016 15:21

I think that's what might be what's contributing to my headaches hep I've not had "proper caffeine" for so long, I gave up coffee, fizzy drinks last year more for my anxiety than anything but I've been a solid tea drinker for years. I'd got it down to about 3-5 cups a day and the last couple of days have just been having one in the morning (because if I don't I'm useless) and oh my, thumping headaches! Think I'm clenching my jaw though too, which isn't helping! Need to be doing some pre bedtime calming ritual or something!

OP posts:
HepKestrel · 14/04/2016 15:25

that does sound like caffeine withdrawl!! my headaches are bad!

what about a few days at 2 cups a day? that should still be below the recommended caffeine limit? then you can try reducing to 1 cup.

(i think the guidance is equavelent to 1 cup of coffee per day. 2teas will be less than that).

FXSkip · 14/04/2016 16:29

Hep I am game for the challenge! I am going to treat myself to a bath tonight, and then a big gym session tomorrow, with a lovely big sauna to relax. I'm trying to change from seeing unhealthy food as a treat, and instead treating myself properly all the time.

InspectorPenguin · 14/04/2016 17:48

Oh wow. After writing that message this morning I peed on an OPK strip just now and there's a second line! My first one!!
I am amazed that something is happening inside me! Grin

Right ladies, please can you share your wisdom and let me know how far you think this is from being positive? The control line is quite light itself, but I think the test is still a smidgen fainter?

Thread : Lucky Number 13 take 2. TTC#1 The one where AF can kiss our arse!
Pugmummy87 · 14/04/2016 18:15

You can have approx 3 mugs of tea a day and be within the guidance for caffeine intake during pregnancy. I can't function without my cup of tea in the morning.

inspector I would say that's nearly a positive, it's not quite as dark as the control line. Keep testing!

I feel like AF is on the way, can feel several spots brewing on my chin.

SuchaJem · 14/04/2016 18:17

hep it's amazing how many grads we've had. Slowly but surely we're all getting there hopefully!! Are you late now? When are you testing?

Treating myself this weekend hmmmm I'm moving house so it's going to be tricky! We are going out for dinner to celebrate my mums birthday Saturday night though so that'll be a treat.

lovely those muffins sound amazeballs. It's great what sunshine and bacon can do for the mood 😁
kav with you on the cervix confusion. God knows what it's doing up there. EWCM is sure thing though, good luck DTD!

starky 8 weeks already! How bloody exciting. Hope you and DH are settling into it.

With you all the tea. I'm totally hooked, have about 4 cups a day. Trying to edge it down!

Inspector that looks pretty much positive to me. Could maybe get a tiny bit stronger but not much. Get on it 👍🏼

I'm still getting niggly fluttering type sensation in my lower abdomen, mainly to the left. Also did not have lunch today as so busy in meetings but when finally got a break I felt sick and starving at the same time. But I don't usually miss meal times so maybe this is normal? Who knows... The TWW goes on...

SuchaJem · 14/04/2016 18:21

Also saw this poll/post today and it reassured me - this is how similar PMS and BFP symptoms are

HepKestrel · 14/04/2016 18:27

Hi sucha 2 days late.
I 'll test on Saturday morning ( so I can have guilt free wine!)

I am symptomless. Which can be easily explained if AF is treating me to another random 39 day cycle Angry

StarkyTheDirewolf · 14/04/2016 18:30

jem remember how convinced I was that af was arriving, I still am! Grin

inspector that's totes nearly a positive, get dtd now and all over the next few days, so that sperm is there ready to meet your egg!

pug I LOVE tea, I've had to cut down because I use the super strong tea bags from sainsburys, they speak to me in a way that PG tops or Tetleys don't! Grin

I am well up for treats hep

I have friends staying all weekend and we're off out doing tourist things in London coupled with nice meals and maybe a few pub stops on the way. I'm going to incorporate the treat into that, maybe a special cocktail or a yummy dessert???

inspector I'd say that's almost positive? Could maybe get a touch darker? But definitely close!!! Get your pants off!!!

Finally home from my course tomorrow, planning on sneaking a shag in before our friends arrive to see if I can hit the tail end of ovulation? That's if I can tempt DP into it, I better have had after being away two weeks!!!
