Brenna I've got cramps too, hiding in the toilets at work. Came rushing in thinking af might have come early Confused

MimiDiddy · 21/03/2016 10:43

I'm 4dpo too (I think), got some spotting. Caught myself thinking "Could that be implantation bleeding?" 🤔. Then gave myself a stern talking to as it's far to early for that, I'll just put it down to the wtf cycle.....Although I might test myself to some FRERs for next week 😊

Hi ladies, I'm going to try and join the thread if you don't mind... I just hope I can keep up!! I'm not very good at these threads.

I had a missed miscarriage around the same time as Loki - don't know if you remember me from the miscarriage threads?

Had a pretty shitty time with a medically managed miscarriage, which was unsuccessful and then had to have surgery.

Last month has been our first month trying again. I've been tracking ovulation with Clear Blue and ovulated on CD16.

I'm now 9DPO and am thinking everything is a sign or symptom of being pregnant! Did a cheap B&M test this morning, but it was negative. Had really sore boobs last week and hormonal rage (which is a preg symptom for me). Still early days though I suppose, but don't think I am going to see a positive.

AKP79 · 21/03/2016 11:09

Oh and I've had dull cramping on and off all weekend, first on my left and then on my right. I too thought my AF would be early, no sign of it yet.

I know what you mean. We were due on our wedding anniversary and I have two friends due in the same week I was due, then the mum of my son's best friend is due a month before I was and commented the other day that it would of been amazing if we were having siblings for them at the same time... she didn't know about the MMC.

AmyB1986 · 21/03/2016 14:15

Akp welcome and sorry for your loss.

Mrs I've not really had any symptoms, don't feel any different. Had a few cramps and a bit bloated but that's nothing new really.

Just in from work and starving right now!

JoMalones · 21/03/2016 14:38

Welcome APK i recognise you from the miscarriage boards. Sorry again for your loss but this is such a lovely group

What are your thoughts on being more fertile post miscarriage ladies? I've been told it time and time again, but I just think that might be giving me a bit of false hope! It took 9 months to fall before the MMC. The thought of another 9 or so months is very frustrating!

MimiDiddy · 21/03/2016 16:15

Hi AKP, sorry for your losses and welcome to the board.

I'm in the WTF cycle following my third miscarriage and was told by the MW to crack on (if I felt ready) as there's a fertility bump in the month or so after MC so I've been wondering about this too. It took me about 5 months and 8 months to fall pregnant after my previous MCs, but I can't say there was a lot dtd going on after each one as I was an emotional wreak so I probably missed that bump each time.

There's some interesting research going on at Warwick Implantation Clinic where they think that uterine natural killer (uNK) cells are too high in some women with unexplained RMC and this is causing the MCs. The uNK cells don't actually kill anything (terrible name for them really), but having too many puts the system out of sync down there and they think they could be preventing the body from producing the steroids needed to support early pregnancy. I'm considering going to see them if I haven't fallen pregnant again by my 2nd cycle, somewhere on their website it says that to be seen at the clinic it must be 2 cycles since your last MC as the uNK cells levels are reduced after MC so I'm wondering if that's perhaps where the fertility bump comes from for some ladies.

I also have a friend who's an ex-MW who says there's theories that the womb gets extra huggy with fertilised eggs after MC, as the body is primed to reproduce again after a loss.

I've got my fx there's some truth in this fertility boost idea and have tried at least dtd the a bit more this cycle.

redstrawberries101 · 21/03/2016 16:29

I'm not sure about being more fertile following mc but I certainly know of a good few people who after giving birth have had some unplanned surprises and this makes me think it could be true?? It must be to do with the changes to your body in pregnancy

AmyB1986 · 21/03/2016 16:45

Mrs I think too early, I've had a really sharp stabbing pain down there like pinching on the inside but I'm not reading into it. Thinking maybe I pulled something at work...

Mimi I hope there is some truth in the extra fertile theory. I've heard a lot of people falling pregnant quickly after mc and giving birth. It happened to a friend of mine 4 weeks after giving birth she was pregnant again, she was still bleeding post partum as well! Her boys are now 13 & 14! She didn't know she was pregnant with her second.

MimiDiddy · 21/03/2016 16:46

Oh pants, I've just found out a colleague is pregnant and, judging by her bump, she's within a month or so when I would have been due. Now I feel like I can't talk to her without being reminded of my MC. I was really hoping I'd get a bit more time to get my head straight before the next baby bomb. Work have "kindly" offered me an appointment with Occupational Health to help me through this difficult time, what on earth will they be able to do for me, stop my colleagues from procreating! Hmm

I am happy for her but my emotions are so big and raw it's difficult not to cry whenever some tells me there happy news, argh! Apologies for the me post, all my RL friends seem to be on maternity leave with their newborns at the mo.

Hi AKP, glad you found us. I remember you from the mc forum, hope you are doing OK. CD 21 here, no idea if or when I ovd and didn't dtd enough to be in with a realistic shot. Headachey and sore boobs. However the sore boobs misled me last month so I'm not reading anything into it.

AKP79 · 21/03/2016 19:46

mimi that's really interesting, I'm definitely going to read into that more. a friend of a friend miscarried at the same time as me over Christmas and she's already pregnant again. I don't even know her yet it's so hard not to feel jealous!

Hi Loki - I tracked my ovulation, but we only really dtd once over my ovulation window so I think pregnancy is very unlikely. Hubby's starting up a new business and is so tired all the time. I'm exhausted, but that's probably because my 4yo has been getting up at 5am every day and I feel really crampy, but I just think I'm hyper sensitive to every sensation in my body. I've bought a preg test today to do in the morning, but could only find a clear blue and they're not very sensitive... Will try and hold off, but doubt I will!

JoMalones · 21/03/2016 20:02

I was the fifth cycle for us after ERPC, it was the only cycle I wasn't on anti biotics or steroids or anti histamines since the surgery and the only cycle I didn't chart or monitor anything. Not sure if that's any help

HopefulKate1980 · 21/03/2016 20:26

Welcome AKP and sorry you are here. Your post-MC experience sounds similar to mine - it just seemed to go on for AGES and AGES, with one thing after another... But it's great you are now in your 2ww - when can you test?

I have heard that the fertility boost post MC is definitely true. All the EPU nurses I saw have said that and my consultant. After my first MC, we waited for one AF and then tried again and I fell pregnant the next month. I miscarried 11 weeks later but we certainly fell quickly...

However having said that, after my second MC, we didn't wait for a proper period and I had a chemical pregnancy as my womb lining wasn't back to normal, so you have to be careful with TTC after a MC - make sure you are back to normal from my experience.

This cycle I have had a scan and it shows that I have a tiny 5mm blood clot remaining in my uterine cavity which can make it difficult to conceive not impossible but it is there. We have DTD this month and I am now 11dpo but know it is unlikely with the clot remaining. I am bloated, tired and have swollen boobs but I would have that at this stage before my period anyway.

This isn't easy is it ladies?!! I wish us all the best of luck in the world!!! Sounds like we all need it big time.

xxx

Gosh things move fast on this thread! Keeping fingers crossed for you Lucky, and right there with you AKP hoping the post mc fertility stories are true. Like you AKP we were trying for nine months before the mc. Am going for the 'back on the horse' approach straightaway, mc bleeding has stopped, time to get bding! No idea when I'll ov, so going with every other day till I can figure out what is going on...DH seems on board with the idea Wink.
