Aww amy how awful! Have you just got to watch what you eat from now on? I hope your DH is taking good care of you.

obsessed you are at the same point in your cycle as me. I'm trying so hard not to test but it's at the back of my mind constantly!

HopefulKate1980 · 11/04/2016 19:33

Amy you poor poor thing. Do you know what caused it? Will it affect TTC?

Brenna24 · 11/04/2016 20:01

Yikes Amy that is scary. I hope you don't have another episode like that. Did they give you anything to monitor your blood sugar with?

obsessed1 · 11/04/2016 20:16

Oh Amy so sorry to hear that. I hope you're ok.
*Paco, yes I'm constantly thinking about it too. I'm scared to test again as I can't face another bfn hence trying to wait but not sure I can manage it!

MillieLikesSketty · 11/04/2016 20:17

Sorry to hear that Amy sounds scary, I hope you're ok and you manage to get it sorted. Is it something you can manage/keep under control so you don't experience that again?

AmyB1986 · 11/04/2016 21:09

Thanks everyone, I'm not sure if it will effect ttc and I have had a few funny turns in the past. It's just caused by a mega drop in blood sugar around 4 hours after I've eaten, apparently it's the start of diabetes which my grandad has. Just have to watch what I eat and make sure I eat complex carbs and not refined sugars. They told me to buy one of those blood sugar monitors. Work have kindly lent me one, some strips and lencets until I can get my own from boots. I've got to go and have a gtt done at some point too which im not looking forward to. If I do happen to fall pregnant I'll have to be monitored for gestational diabetes but that's a big if at the min.

I'm cd10 and unsure what to do ttc wise now.

Loki17 · 11/04/2016 21:16

Aw Amy that sounds awful. Hope you get some answers soon.

redstrawberries101 · 11/04/2016 22:24

Sorry to hear that Amy, gosh one thing after another for us ladies but head up. Give yourself some time to get your head around it before making any concrete decisions

Pacothepidgeon · 12/04/2016 10:24

How are you feeling today amy?

Forgive me mumsnet for I have sinned. I've caved and bought 5 early pregnancy tests off the internet.

AmyB1986 · 12/04/2016 11:15

Paco feeling a bit wobbly today, bm is really low still and struggling to get it up past 4. Don't know what to eat!
I've done an opk even though I said I wouldn't and the line is really strong. Have lots of cm that's why I tested. Think I may be in for an earlier ov this month, it was cd18 last month. If I ov on cd13 then that will be pretty much spot on for my pre mc cycles.

InsufficientlyCaffeinated · 12/04/2016 11:42

That sounds really scary Amy. Have you been given any dietary advice/appointment with a dietician to help you adjust your eating habits?

Paco I buy them in packs of 30 Blush
It just works out so much cheaper that way! But it does mean there is a constant POAS temptation and I struggle to get beyond 8dpo without testing.

Think I'm done this month. According to my app I should ov today which matches to my increasing cm. DTD last night and I just can't manage anymore so hopefully that's enough for this month! Maybe I could give it a go tomorrow if DP and I are up for it but TBH I just can't be bothered now. Hoping cm dries up and I can spend the 2ww in pjs, gorging on ice cream and not having sex. This is the first cycle where I feel like TTC has consumed my sex life. If it doesn't work then it can't go this way again in future cycles, I'm worn out

HopefulKate1980 · 12/04/2016 11:54

Can you face DTD Amy? You poor thing.

Ooh Paco, how much were they?

I'm out this month. I've got v unusual pains in my tummy and feels like I may even be ovulating. Which is strange. Oh well. I'm told my fella to gear up for next month!!!

AmyB1986 · 12/04/2016 11:59

Insufficiently they said to eat complex carbs no refined sugars like cakes or chocolate that cause a huge spike and dips in blood sugar. No doubt I'll get more advice when I go for my gtt which I'm currently waiting on a phone call for an appointment.

Just seems like one thing after another for me at the min. Seriously considering a break from everything to get myself straight, get this diet down and control my bm. They said this happens generally in women who are overweight but my bmi is 26 not majorly over so I don't get it! Im 5ft 8 and my build is quite broad, generally in a size 14-16 bottoms. Think my boobs count for about a stone in weight, went from a b cup to a g cup after having the kids. Need to have a chat with DH and see what he thinks...

Pacothepidgeon · 12/04/2016 15:47

kate they were only £4.95. But in my defence I need to know before I head off on holiday where I'm going to get very drunk and eat all the wrong things!

redstrawberries101 · 12/04/2016 17:12

Amy b cup to g cup ShockShock
Paco you made me laugh. You have sinned haha.

My third period since mmc and it's quite weird. It's lighter than normal and it's been very painful. Last two were closer to my normal.

I was reading about a 'fertility cleanse' and it said periods should never be painful and the blood should be red (oxygenated). Has anyone tried a fertility cleanse?

InsufficientlyCaffeinated · 12/04/2016 17:41

Never heard of a fertility cleanse, unless it's those stuffing balls you put inside yourself? I think it takes a couple of cycles to fully return to normal

Cracked & got some opks. Despite all the ewcm the test line was a lot more faint than control so not sure what's going on. Only bought them because I thought they'd give greater insight in to what's going on Hmm

jpeg28 · 12/04/2016 17:46

I've been using OPKs but I'm so confused! The clear blue ones have shown flashing smileys for 3 days and I've been doing a cheap internet one at the same time and definitely negative... Is my body playing tricks on me?! I suppose it's the first cycle since MC but I am so desperate to know what's going on!
Also... I have a hen do this weekend... Seeing as I'm potentially ovulating I will be in the dreaded TWW... Should I not drink??

Ah OK. Haven't done anything like that but really do need to cut down on junk, especially sugar and caffeine.

Jpeg I'd have a couple at the hen party as you might as well enjoy yourself while you don't know but don't go overboard. Maybe get long drinks and sip them and have soft drinks in between

jpeg28 · 12/04/2016 18:26

Thanks InsufficientlyCaffeinated that's good advice! I've organised it and it's been so stressful I think I'll have to have a drink! I'll just limit it as much as possible.

Loki17 · 12/04/2016 18:38

I checked my cervix last night and decided it was closed so had a night off. All day I've had stabbing twinges from one of my ovaries so I'm starting to think that I might be ovulating despite the lack of ewcm. Back on the dtd train. Dh is very happy and I think I'm doing a good job of trying to be enthusiastic but in all honesty I'm finding it hard. I'm knackered!

Pacothepidgeon · 12/04/2016 18:40

Never heard of a fertility cleanse. I've stopped caffeine and changed to natural products for deodorant etc.

Feel like I've had the stuffing knocked out me. Just found out my SIL who is due the same time i was is having a girl. Just going to have a cry and eat cheesecake.

Brenna24 · 12/04/2016 19:47

Hugs Paco have some Cake from me too.

Jo and Flourishing that's lovely news to read! Hope for the rest of us.

Amy hypoglycaemia sounds scary, like you say it's a sign you need to take care of yourself and review your priorities as your health is so important, in general and when TTC.

I'm 2-3 dpo today, weirdly had a temp dip this morning compared to last few days - any ideas what that might mean? I wondered if it might mean I hadn't actually ovulated yet and was about to now, but negative OPK today compared to positive OPK on Sat. Secondary oestrogen surge maybe?
