I have found that too! Strange isn't it? I don't get period pain like I used to either. Hope you are feeling ok.

redstrawberries101 · 09/04/2016 10:07

Thanks. Doing ok. The cramps are milder but there. Been feeling really sleepy. I've been undoing some housework but going back to bed for a bit

HopefulKate1980 · 09/04/2016 10:12

At least you can have a lovely glass of wine tonight!!! Or even later this afternoon! That's always my consolation xx

Pacothepidgeon · 09/04/2016 10:29

Sorry cheeky for this month.
Not had orange nipples just hairy ones Blush

DH wants to go a bike ride this afternoon to the next town. I've not been on a bloody bike in years! He has promised me ice cream when we get to the town as an incentive to keep me peddling!

HopefulKate1980 · 09/04/2016 11:24

Orange nipples, farting, hairy boobs... god we are an attractive TTC bunch!!

Bike ride sounds lovely! The sun is shining here so going to head out for a walk as soon as my fake tan (for tonight!) has dried.

Can I ask you all for some advice? I am 5 days away from being able to test. My jury is out on whether we have got lucky or not. I am pretty sure I'm not as we didn't DTD on the right days. However, we have a friend's BD tonight and my DH said this morning: "Well you won't be drinking will you?". I said "no" just to keep him sweet but what do you think? Do you guys have the odd drink in the 2WW or should I steer clear just in case??

Loki17 · 09/04/2016 11:39

I'd have a glass of wine. I've cut down to ttc too. I had gotten into the habit of two glasses a night on a Friday and Saturday. Then the odd couple on a Wednesday. I stopped before it became a nightly thing! I'm barely drinking at all at the minute and if I do I stop at one. One will be fine whether it is your month or not.

LuckyinOctober · 09/04/2016 11:44

Hi Kate my usual TWW rule of thumb is to stay within the old pregnancy safe limits of just one glass of wine per night after implantation could have occurred, and I'd only have a glass of wine at most two nights between possible implantation and my period/when I can test. If I hadn't had two MC's I suspect I'd be more relaxed than that, but because there's a link between alcohol and early MC I want to play safe and the one glass is a level of risk I'm comfortable with. In my last cycle I had a house party to go to the night before I could test and I played safe and didn't drink at all and used the excuse of driving to explain the not drinking. I was then glad I had when I got a BFP, but of course my bean then didn't stick, so I lost the pregnancy despite doing everything by the book. And I know plenty women who drank normally for them during TWW over Christmas for example and have healthy babies. I guess it comes down to how much risk you're happy with?

Cheeky thanks for sharing info about your mum and Coeliac. I get acid reflux and am bloated a lot, I've been taking Omeprazole for years for the heart burn but my GPs have just focussed on treating the symptoms rather than testing for cause, and with my family history of gluten intolerance it seems plausible I could have Coeliac. From reading about it my best bet is to try excluding it and see if the symptoms resolve when I do, as that would point to Coeliac. So far though I've still got bloated even without any gluten, but I haven't had heart burn. Going to keep going with it for another week or so to see how I go. Also sorry you got AF, hope it's not too bad xx

obsessed1 · 09/04/2016 11:49

Sorry to hear that cheeky. I've got a feeling I'll be joining you soon. I did another test today and got a bfn. It might still be too early, I'm on cd23. Not sure of my cycle length now, it used to vary between 23 and 28, and I'm probably all over the place now. Feeling a bit deflated as I'm now less certain if I feel any symptoms or if it was all in my head.
I know what you mean hopeful. I would be inclined to have a glass (maybe two). I know some people may not approve, but I play these silly mind games with myself thinking I'm less likely to be pregnant if I abstain.

HopefulKate1980 · 09/04/2016 11:51

Thanks both - appreciate your replies. With both my MCs I had no idea I was pregnant and drank so worry too about drinking now. But as you say lucky my friends have had massive binge drinking sessions and then went onto have healthy babies. Argh! I don't want to put my whole life on hold but the thought of another MC is too much to bear.

HopefulKate1980 · 09/04/2016 11:59

Thanks obsessed.

Fingers crossed for you. Do you use Ovia?

Pacothepidgeon · 09/04/2016 12:03

kate I am exactly the same as you. I was one of those who was unknowingly pregnant over Christmas and drank. Logically I know that people drink all the time and have healthy pregnancy. But I'm not doing it this time as it makes me feel better making a change from the last unsuccessful time. Even my DH bless him is not drinking.
It's 7 days till I can test so hopefully will know before I go on holiday then I can be as bad as I want! I have no signs or symptoms so think we have missed out this month. But hey ho only first month trying and we had some fun times Wink

obsessed1 · 09/04/2016 12:08

Is that a fertility tracker app? I have fertility friend, which I've been using for ages. Is that similar, or is ovia a newer, improved one?
I know exactly what you mean about the putting your life on hold in case, and if it does take a long time again I will be even more annoyed. On the other hand, I also don't want to jeopardise things. I stopped drinking altogether as soon as I found out I was pregnant last time, and really didn't evens fancy alcohol anyway. It's just this two week wait period that is so slow anyway, and I feel like I'm constantly thinking of this and nothing else!!

HopefulKate1980 · 09/04/2016 12:16

Paco that is so sweet that your DH isn't drinking too! My boyfriend volunteered that too but let's see if he sticks to it!! I doubt he will.

Ovia was recommended to me by people on here obsessed. Yes it's an app that tracks your cycles. I find it quite comforting but I have heard mixed reviews from people - some people say it gets the timings wrong. I think they are sponsored by Clearblue as they are constantly asking you to use their OPKs.

I will definitely stop drinking if we get pregnant again but I am bit torn about the 2WW. My boyfriend knows I get carried away when I am with my friends so he'd rather I didn't drink at all just in case. but it is SO easy for him. He carries on life as normal and can do whatever he wants. He is amazing but wish he could burden some of the stress and weird body symptoms for a while! I made sure he didn't see my orange nipples this morning in case he freaked out!

obsessed1 · 09/04/2016 12:28

Thanks. I've downloaded it to try it out.

redstrawberries101 · 09/04/2016 16:32

Lucky, no probs. I think you need to eliminate for a good few weeks before seeing a difference? It could be that your haven't got full on coeliac but do have a level of intolerance. My mum finds that taking probiotics has helped her loads. She hardly gets stomach aches now.

Thanks for all your kind words, it really does make it better to have such support on here. I got all angry this afternoon, the irritability was pretty bad and the cramps were quite strong too but have subsided now. Thankfully!

HopefulKate1980 · 09/04/2016 16:50

I think I'm out this month. Have just got loads of EWCM and I'm supposedly 9dpo so from what I've read that means AF is on her way. Anyone else had this? I'm gonna have a few drinks tonight now. My body is really starting to piss me off now!!

jpeg28 · 09/04/2016 17:06

I've just read some of your comments about ovia... If I use it what do I put were the last dates of my period? My MC was 12/03/16 but I bleed pretty much solidly for 3 weeks... I'm keen to know what's going on with my cycle. Thanks xx

Pacothepidgeon · 09/04/2016 17:19

jpeg I think I just put my mc date as my last period until I had a real period. The only problem is you can't rely on it for your fertile window and it might jump about a bit.

jpeg28 · 09/04/2016 17:33

Thanks... I'll try that now! It's worth a go.

Pacothepidgeon · 09/04/2016 18:19

It's good for keeping track of your days and symptoms.

JoMalones · 09/04/2016 18:43

Loving the orange nipple thread. My one random chin one has been plucked today!

Sorry to hear that Cheeky.
*
Kate* alcohol doesn't pass through that much until the placenta takes over I believe, I have to admit, 5dpo I went out for a friend's 40th and got vvv drunk (I don't even remember what j ate at the meal as we started early) Blush. I just was fed up of putting my life on hold on the tww.

Paco how was the bike ride? Did you get the promised ice cream?

Obsessed fertility friend and ovia were my go to apps when I was charting.

We went for a scan today, 6+5 and all looks good. The sac looked a different shape to our last pregnancy and was a normal size (last time was enlarged), 2 out of 3 measurements are spot on my dates (last time measuring behind slightly) and they've offered another scan (free) in 9 days (a training day). So today we are happy! Not fooling ourselves like last time but today I am pregnant so that's something.

Pacothepidgeon · 09/04/2016 18:54

jo that's good news about the scan. Glad it went well and you get a free scan! Grin

I got out of the bike ride and pottered round the garden with the dogs instead. I've also ate my own body weight in chocolate cheesecake and feel like a beached whale now!

Brenna24 · 09/04/2016 19:02

Fantastic news Jo. Fingers crossed everything stays this way but that sounds really positive.

I have still got terrible gas and bloating. But now it mells like something crawled up my backside and died ( at least up until now it was smell free). Even the dog is avoiding me Grin. I am abosolutely loving being female and hormonal right now.

jo it's lovely to hear good news and that all seems to be moving in the right direction. Thanks I've downloaded ovia now, and had a little play with it. I think I may also use a combination of the two as they each seem to have their own pluses.

Loki17 · 09/04/2016 19:56

Jo that is lovely news x
