The care fertility clinic in Tunbridge wells. Have been looking online at abroad prices, really is much cheaper in Copenhagen! Wow! Just looking at the Denmark cryos sperm bank- it says about home insemination, if only could try that in the uk,would be so much cheaper. I just want to get started
My bosses are aware that I am planning to do this as they are also good friends but I'm not sure they quite understand how it works i.e having to suddenly go to clinic but hopefully they'll be ways round it :/
Thanks shoes always happy to get more info

kwick · 27/06/2016 17:54

shoes let me get sentimental with you although I get that way at a drop of a hat I too have found this thread so supportive. I was incredibly naive when I embarked on this journey last year and being part of this community has made all the difference.

In other news: can barely walk after allotment exertions yesterday with the added joy of sunburn on my boobage area, arms and back of neck Angry at least we got a lot done...

What are you growing kwick? Haha good old digging buggers you up for days! But next time you won't ache so much

kwick · 27/06/2016 22:07

I think if I was digging every day what you say would be true pickle but as there is a 6 day break in between, each time is like the first...
So far we have planted: runner beans, tomatoes, courgettes, broad beans, cornflowers and daisies.

I just had a lovely evening with my cousin and her twins - they were so cute as I read them their bedtime story. So much work but SO worth it.

I am so excited: tomorrow a lady is coming round to show me how to put on my makeup!!! I am addicted to buying the stuff but am not so good at using...Confused

pickle162 · 27/06/2016 22:47

Aw sounds lovely, I love the story time with all my little babies :)
ooh yum! Courgettes usually produce mega amounts that you end up wanting to give some away lol

It's my last day on holiday tomorrow before I fly back Wednesday lunchtime Sad I've put on about 500stone so will be a good thing to lose some weight again!!!
Have fun with your makeup tuition Smile

CautionHormone · 28/06/2016 18:37

Shoes, thank you. Work is exhausting me - I'm thinking of going to bed in a minute, and I'm only on 6hr days this week!
I don't blame you for sticking with your Copenhagen clinic. If you trust them and feel relaxed, that's the main thing you could hope for. At least they treat you well!!

Kwick - id love an allotment, so would my dad! It looks lovely. I love everything that you've planted - especially the Daisy's, they're my favourite flower :)
How'd you makeup tuition go??

So, I cancelled the appointment with the CRGW clinic this morning on my way to work... They were fine about it and because it was just outside the 24hr period I don't have to pay a cancellation fee, woo! Got another appointment for two weeks Saturday - the 16th July. Also got an open evening to attend with my local Care clinic on the 4th July... Mums coming with me as she's so intrigued. Looking forward to both!

Hope you're all ok. X

CautionHormone · 28/06/2016 18:40

Did anyone watch Adele at Glastonbury over the weekend? She was AMAZING. She is definitely my girl crush!! X

StorkAhoy · 28/06/2016 21:52

Hey all!

caution excellent news! And a Saturday appointment too! Just makes life easier, no?

So have just started the Chinese herb regime of my acupuncture therapy, holy cow it's like drinking hot gritty brown water...yuck! Buts it's all in a good cause!

So, my garden is getting landscaped this weekend and next weekend, that was the gift to myself when I decided to delay treatment till November, I'm hoping it's worth it...

CautionHormone · 29/06/2016 18:36

Stork - it really does make like easier!! I don't have to worry about missing work, and can still have the consult.
Ooh, that doesn't sound nice. What we do as women, eh?!
Send us a photo when your garden has been done - I love things like that! I'd love to be a landscaper or something but I really don't think I'm cut out for that kind of work 😂..

I'm thinking about starting treatment at the end of sept/beginning of oct - I come off of my holiday on 3rd sept, and want to do it as soon as possible afterwards, but obviously I'll need to have my pre-treatment consult and wait to see how my cycles fall. It'll also give me another three cycles to see what my ovulation is doing! Do you know Stork if CRGW have an upper weight limit? X

pickle162 · 29/06/2016 19:25

kwick the opks all ready and waiting :) thank you xx

Grin Love the description of gritty brown water, stork. Ah, the things we do ...

Anyway, can I ask a TMI question? It's all TMI on here, I suppose. DP looks set to ovulate in a few days and we're going in for the first insemination, so after that it's the hormone gel for two weeks and fingers crossed. All very exciting.

So, erm ... does anyone have opinions about sex in this context? We were too British to ask initially, and DP blurted it out to the very no-nonsense nurse we saw yesterday. She said in her experience people sometimes worry that maybe they shouldn't have had sex 'in case it made a difference' but said they don't think it does really. Confused

We slightly wondered if she was thinking of penetrative sex anyway - or do you think womb contractions are an issue here?

I promise I'm not asking in a letchy-partner way, just wondering about it, and after all it is something pretty guaranteed to lower your stress levels and put you in the right frame of mind, isn't it?!

kwick · 29/06/2016 20:24

Apologies for radio silence - am unable to post on phone so am now using ipad.... Angry

Make-up lesson was good - very relaxing. She helped me with my foundation. Got my eyebrows and eyelashes dyed also - makes such a difference. Turns out her hubby does bathrooms up so I am going to get him to quote as when my remortgage comes through (fx) I need to redo.

pickle my pleasure :)

INeedNewShoes · 30/06/2016 01:29

Well, Robins, the only way to answer your tmi is with tmi...

My view is that in the days leading up to insemination that in the normal course of things you would be having sex because your body ups your sex drive to encourage you to have sex at the right time of the month so I've followed this. Being single, obviously I've not been having sex but have tried to mimic the natural course of things in terms of giving myself 'womb contractions' anyway Blush

Following insemination I've abstained, because I didn't want to disturb anything in the fragile early stages of the egg trying to implant.

I don't think there's much research on this so you just have to try to go with common sense!

Karendvm · 30/06/2016 03:28

Robins I agree with shoes. I really don't thing contractions/sex/whatever will interfere. Many many women have no clue as to when they ovulate, and don't time anything. I don't know what i would have done after/around my iui had I had a partner. So many people write about having an iui and then having sex afterwards. I know I felt like I had to walk on egg shells! Didnt even want to sneeze! I think distraction and less stress is the best. Enjoy your life. Have fun. I found I was getting too obsessive after my mc so I think that anything that gives you joy and peace is a good thing. Well, you know, healthy stuff. Lol

RobinsAreTerritorialFuckers · 30/06/2016 08:09

Grin Thanks shoes. That's reassuring (plus it made me grin, so must be good).

karen - YY, I can see the egg shells bit. Sorry to make you think of your MC too. And thank you for very wise advice.

pickle162 · 30/06/2016 20:46

Omg kwick there is going to be a junior masterchef USA!!!! I'm so excited!!not sure when starts just seen an advert saying coming soon!!

kwick · 01/07/2016 08:13

With regards to TMI question - I read somewhere that orgasms helped with the course of things and so did what I could for some of my failed IUIs. When I did IVF though I did not - I felt very delicate and fragile and tried to get as much rest as possible.

pickle the junior ones always worry me - so much pressure for the little ones.

I am sooooo tired - two nights of poor sleep... I just want my own bed! A mahoosive spot has developed on my chin - hope it is a sign AF is on her way and not a reaction to ny travel cosmetics (or copious amounts of pasteis de nata I have eaten this week!).

Best of luck robins!!!!

CautionHormone · 03/07/2016 15:56

Robins, if you think of it like this, it should help - women that fall pregnant without even knowing or "naturally" (I hate that word) carry on having sex after they've conceived, which isn't detrimental to the process at all. And I agree with Kwick - I've read somewhere that orgasms can actually help the whole thing, so please don't worry too much. Just have fun Smile as you said, it'll help make things a bit more relaxed, maybe?

Kwick sorry for not replying sooner but I'm glad your make up tutorial went well. Having dyed eyebrows and eyelashes makes soo much difference, it's crazy!

I'm getting really impatient now. I'm not quite sure what it is, maybe because so many women around me are so close to their due dates/just had their babies, I don't know, but I just want to begin trying. I said to myself that I'd wait until my holiday (I come home 3rd September) but it just seems so long away Sad
I have my second open evening event at my local Care clinic tomorrow, and my first initial consultation with the CRGW on 16th July (still undecided with who I'm going to use) so things are moving along but very slowly. I just want to start now... I was in Asda earlier and I found myself just staring at the baby clothes. Someone tell me I'm not being silly... Sad

StorkAhoy · 03/07/2016 21:15

caution you arent being silly! I bought a baby bouncer the other day! It was greatly reduced and something just told me to do it....

Evening all!

StorkAhoy · 03/07/2016 21:16

Ps the brown gritty water of my Chinese herbs continues to make me want to vomit. I mean, seriously vomit.

pickle162 · 03/07/2016 21:33

I have a sleeping bag thingy (had for years as friend was getting rid and I've had under my bed) I've got 2 super cute baby grows (only charity shop) and a steriliser and whole heap of bottles from gumtree so no youre not silly..... Or maybe we all are Hmm

kwick · 04/07/2016 22:45

You are all very naughty!!! I am too supersticious to buy things before.

caution september is round the corner - seriously!

In Paris until Wednesday... trying to hold off having a beauty product splurge

RobinsAreTerritorialFuckers · 04/07/2016 23:05

Thanks very much for reassurance about my rude question! Grin

I'm another one who's bought things already. I've done that before, though (or, mainly, had nice well-meaning people buy for me) and I know that while it was very sad giving away clothes, it actually made me feel better in a funny way. So I don't feel superstitious about it.

Karendvm · 04/07/2016 23:21

Have to admit that I'm in the middle of making a baby quilt for myself. Trying to believe that I'm sending out good positive vibes instead of jinxing myself. Smile

Kwick I am so jealous of you. Paris! That's wonderful. I hope work isn't keeping you too busy.

RobinsAreTerritorialFuckers · 04/07/2016 23:36

Oh, that sounds lovely karen. I'm sure it is a positive thing TBH. It keeps you feeling calm and unstressed which has to be a good thing.

I quilt too - haven't started one for a potential baby yet, but I plan to once the current project is finished.
