Hey Caution, just had great chat with the donor nurse from CRGW. I was talking to her about their donors and the choice available (as an alternative to ordering in as it were). So she has met all the donors herself, and is such a darling. She can give hints on their sense of humour, their style, education, looks... we had a right old natter. So am certainly going to use them as a back up.

Taydex great to hear from you - glad its all going well!

Kwick I think she sees it as her preferred way - to potter around the house, take short walks etc, but to have your entire focus on positive energy and the implantation taking. I get wheres she's coming from, and she's telling me what worked for her - and when I see her twin girls running about the place its hard to discount her advice.... So I am planning on having a little stay-cation post procedure, not the full 2 weeks, but close enough - every little helps, right? I have enough holiday to do that, so why not, (even though I will still be working from home, no doubt!!)

hi all! xox

INeedNewShoes · 17/06/2016 13:33

Taydex Great to hear that everything is going smoothly. It must be lovely to be beyond the 20-week scan with things looking good Smile

RobinsAreTerritorialFuckers · 17/06/2016 14:17

Oh, taydex, what a lovely post. It's such a huge reassurance to know it's gone well (and gives a bit of hope!).

Hope baby uncrosses his/her legs for next time! Grin

Can I ask the team for your thoughts please!?

Since the miscarriage and d&c I tracked my HCG using HPTs until I got a negative pregnancy test. Since then I've had a period and started doing OPKs at CD8. I'm now CD11 and it looks like I might get a positive OPK this afternoon.

But, this isn't normal for me. I usually get a positive OPK on CD13 and ovulate on CD14.

Do we think I can trust the OPKs? If I get LH surge can I trust that it means I'm likely about to ovulate? Maybe the miscarriage has reset my cycle and I'll ovulate on CD12 from now on?

I've had a bit of EWCM but not loads.

If I get a positive OPK later, my feeling is to just go for it and hope for the best. It has just thrown me a bit that I look due to ovulate two days earlier in my cycle than in the past.

Any thoughts?

CautionHormone · 22/06/2016 14:24

Hi all - sorry for the lack of posting, been in hospital Sad out now and off for the rest of the week, so hopefully il have time to recuperate enough for next Monday.
Id like to pick your brains about something though, if that's ok. I've been doing opks before my hospital visit and two whilst in there (is that abnormal?!) but I haven't had an LH surge. I'm a bit concerned now that I'm not ovulating, especially as the lady who scanned me in March said my ovaries look on the small side... I'm due on again in a week and my period tracker said my fertile window ended four days ago, but is it possible I could just be ovulating really really late???

Stork - happy belated birthday! Hope you had a lovely birthday. That's good to know about the donors in CRGW - I think, if I'm honest, that I'll just use their sperm bank. I've had a look at the donors and I like the sound of them..
I've got my telephone consultation next Wednesday. I'd told work about it already but now I feel guilty having it off as I've had two weeks off due to being in hospital so don't know what to do.

Taydex I'm glad all is going well!! Are you having another scan soon as you can find out the sex??

Kwick how you feeling now AF is here/was here??

Pickle have a lovely holiday :)

X

Shoes maybe it's just your body adjusting after your mc? I've heard that you're more fertile just after a mc, and a few people I know have proved that after they've had a mc and got pregnant the following cycle. X

Karendvm · 22/06/2016 14:56

Hi shoes. The only thing that I can tell you is I am currently waiting for my second af and its late according to my cycles prior to the mc. Of course, I also ovulated later due to the femara so I'm hoping that's why. I think if you get a surge you should go for it. A surge doesn't guarantee ovulation, and from what I have read temping is the most reliable way to chart ovulation. I don't know if you will always be a day 12 girl, but if you are doing the tests it shouldn't matter. Good luck and a boat load of baby dust.

INeedNewShoes · 22/06/2016 15:32

I think IUI is off for this month anyway Sad

Massively TMI coming up alert...

I've just been to see my GP to check my aspirin dose and to get some 'spots' checked out that I found down below. She says she thinks they're warts so I have to go to the GUM clinic tomorrow. This is unbelievably bad luck. I had a short (3 month) relationship with a guy last summer (slept with him only three times, using protection) who I fell in love with before he disappeared off the face of the earth without warning and without a trace. Dealing with that was really tough and it seems he has left me with a lasting parting gift.

It seems the virus has been dormant all this time and it was probably being pregnant and my immune system being out of kilter that gave the warts the chance to appear. GP says I ought to get the problem treated before my next IUI so that's another month at least before I can try again.

I am so pissed off, disappointed, in disbelief, frustrated and I feel really stupid.

It's all a bit much sometimes Sad

INeedNewShoes · 22/06/2016 15:37

Caution Sorry. I've just seen your post. Sorry to hear you've had to have a stay in hospital. I hope you're recovering well now.

Re ovulating, have you got any of the other signs at the right time of the month like egg-white cervical mucus?

Have you been doing the OPKs twice a day? Around the time I expect to get the surge I do two in a day. One at around 11am (it's important not to use first morning urine for OPKs) and another early evening. Often where the morning OPK isn't positive, the evening one will be. It's possible that you are ovulating but just didn't catch it with the OPK this month.

Karendvm · 22/06/2016 16:11

shoes that sucks! I hope it all gets sorted out quickly.

Karendvm · 22/06/2016 16:29

caution I think that ovulation can vary greatly, especially if you've been in and out of the hospital. Hope you are feeling better.

My last cycle I had an Lh surge based on blood work but never a positive opk. I honestly have no idea what is going on with my cycles now.

kwick · 22/06/2016 18:30

Wow you guys have been busy!

caution sorry to hear about your hospital stay.
At what times of day have you been using OPKs? Sometimes you can miss the lh surge. Which OPKs are you using?

shoes my LH surge varies, as do my cycle length. That is why when I was doing IUI the scans were the best indicator.

Just saw your post about parting gift. What a frickerty fcuk! I am really sorry you have to deal with this, especially after everything else. Flowers

My AF came and went. After all the these years of having at least one leakage a month I found that if I use sensitive bladder panties I can avoid that... Well I guess better late than never...
Every now and again I am struck down with sadness of MC but I just want to get on with IVF again. I am hoping Jennifer Anniston is pregnant as at 47 that will give me loads of hope - I am currently plagued with the thought I have left it too late.

CautionHormone · 23/06/2016 01:43

Thanks for your replies ladies - it's so nice to have someone else to obsess over ovulation with, especially as my family aren't greatly bothered 😂

Shoes, I've been doing two a day - one around midday (I come home on my lunch breaks if I can manage it cos I live a two min drive away) and do one then, then one later on about 6ish. I only done one whilst I was in hospital though - maybe I missed it whilst I was in there? Funnily enough, now you say it, I havent noticed any egg-white cervical mucus. I used to get it, but I haven't noticed it for a good half a year, possibly longer...
I'm sorry to hear about your problem - that massively sucks. Excuse me for my ignorance, but can you get rid of them completely? I know sometimes with things like that you can't... I'm sorry that idiot gave it to you... There are some wicked people about!!

Kwick, I've been using clearblue ones and the Amazon cheapies. I've been doing the Amazon ones in the afternoon, and then the clearblue ones at around 6ish... I did the clearblue ones in hospital but only tested once a day. It's just concerning because my ovaries are "on the small side" according to the sonographer and because my periods are still a bit haywire. I'm wondering if the cyst I had maybe threw it off cycle and it hasn't come back right yet...

Karen that's interesting. Do you have any idea why it never showed up on an OPK? I know some ladies can go some cycles without ovulating, but to of been told it doesn't look like I'm ovulating in March, and then to not get a positive OPK first month of trying them, it seems a bit suspicious. I'll have to keep my eye on it & see how it goes!

X

CautionHormone · 23/06/2016 01:45

Sorry Shoes, I meant to say I did one a day while I was in hospital! X

INeedNewShoes · 23/06/2016 01:50

Caution my last cycle (the one that led to the pregnancy) I didn't get a definite positive on the internet cheapy test. It was close but not quite there, but the Clearblue gave me a smiley face (on the same pot of urine) and it led to a BFP, so I'm a bit sceptical of the reliability of the internet cheapies. If I get a line on the cheapie that is nearly dark enough then I do a Clearblue just to make sure.

kwick · 23/06/2016 07:52

Good strategy shoes. You were up late. I hope you are ok. If you are seeking revenge on guy then remember there is always voodoo Hmm

INeedNewShoes · 23/06/2016 09:02

Thanks Kwick If I knew where he lives I'd be adding go faster stripes to his stupid expensive car with my keys (well, let's be honest I wouldn't actually do it, but imagining my revenge is somehow therapeutic).

I am so pissed off about it all today. I've had a very non-existent sex life and the few times I've had sex have taken precautions. It just feels so unfair!

I'm sitting waiting to be seen at the GUM clinic. Oh the shame.

CautionHormone · 23/06/2016 10:12

Shoes - really? That's interesting... I would've thought that the clearblue would've picked it up though cos I never failed to test. Ah I dunno, I'll keep an eye on it over the next cycle and see what happens.

I don't blame you for feeling pissed off. Anyone would. Don't feel embarrassed sitting at the GUM clinic - most people have to go there once or twice in their life... I can understand how you feel though, but please don't feel embarrassed or shamed... How'd it go?? X

StorkAhoy · 24/06/2016 00:42

Ahoy all!

Can I just check, as my ovulation has been all over the place. This month and last month, checking with clear blue dual hormone indicator, lots of high fertility, but no peak. The proceeding three months all was normal, two high days, then ovulation peak surge detected.

It says on the directions to use the first urine after your longest sleep. But someone here said not to do that? Tres confused!

Hola all, and my y'all have been busy!
