Ah that's excellent Shoes - only 2!! You had a chemical with the first didn't you? Sad
Your pregnancy will be fine - I know it's not a lot to go on but I've got a good feeling about all of your pregnancies... You're gonna be great mummies!!!

Can't wait til it's my turn Grin

CautionHormone · 23/03/2016 15:27

Cloud, sorry to hear you've been getting pains Sad. I'm sure it'll be nothing to worry about - keep positive! Let us know how you're feeling.

My old family dog who's 12 went in for an op today... Can't wait to see her later - she cries constantly for hours after coming round from an anaesthetic so no doubt I'll be crying with her!! I'm such a soppy sod when it comes to dogs/animals Blush

Afternoon ladies,

Just had GP appointment (finally, apparently I managed to get an emergency appointment somehow...). Was basically a paperwork filling out exercise with a bit of advice. I gave him dates (and a piece of paper from the clinic with dates on again), showed him scan pictures, he took blood pressure, asked a load of questions, gave some advice re folic acid etc (nothing we don't already know), asked me which hospital I wanted, and that was it. He filled out a form which he sends off to the hospital and they get in touch within a week with a 12 week scan appointment date/time. And that is it. I was ready for full on internal exam (and had prepped accordingly), wee test and any other test I could think of. So yeah, all fine. Nothing exciting to report. Glad it's done though, so we can get that 12 week scan in (by my calculations that's w/c 18 April). Oh, and he checked my EDD and confirmed my calculations (and the various websites I used) were correct - 28 October.

Website today says 8 weeks 5 days or 2 months! Smile

So, in answer to some of your questions. I did tests up until a week after my proper test date (my clinic asked me to do 1 one week later, but I wasn't about to wait a whole week so did about every other day ish till a week later). Then since that I've not done any. Like Cloud says, I didn't want to have the stress of what to do if the test came back -ve or I had a mis-read, and figured that if I wasn't bleeding then pregnancy was probably progressing OK (I know that's not always 100% true, but head in the sand and all that...).

Cloud - I'm sorry to hear about your pains - are you feeling any better now? I had some random pains occasionally in what I can only describe as the kidney area. Also a few random twinges around the womble/above area. But nothing too bad so not worried to much (who am I kidding, I am a worrier so there has been a little worrying). I am sure yours will be nothing to worry about, but it is hard not to worry, and makes it worse that we can't really take any/many drugs to ease the pain. Please try to remain positive, it does wonders for the little bean. Awh, poor puppy dog. We have 2, a 10 year old and an almost 2 year old. Both black labs. The older one was very poorly back in November (handily when we were on holiday in Mauritius!!!) and it was heartbreaking, but luckily the vet managed to pull him back from the brink and he's doing so much better. It is sooooo heartbreaking when they're poorly though. I hope your doggy is OK. Give her a hug and a tummy rub from me. x P.S. I'm a soppy b*gger too, there's nothing wrong with that!

INeedNewShoes · 23/03/2016 19:41

Good that you've finally managed to see your GP Taydex

I've booked an appointment with mine for next Wednesday.

I hope everyone's feeling ok this evening. I keep getting twinges and thinking 'uh oh AF' but from what everyone's saying here that seems quite normal!

Kwick709 · 23/03/2016 20:17

pickle are you watching Masterchef?!

I had a bit of a set-too today - applied cyclogest (400mg three times a day) - first dose fine, second one LEAKED everywhere!!!!! Blush so new approach is everything up fanjo so at least panty liner catches mess....

I had not thought of doing any more tests - I have a scan booked for a couple of weeks, then another... I am going to be on meds until week 10... maybe I should include a weekly HPT but I rather like head in sand approach too.

shoes thanks for calculator - I am due at the end of November.

Cloudburn sorry about your pains this morning - probably your womble stretching? I am getting cramps every afternoon and a bit of nausea in the mornings. I feel a bit poorly actually but it is the sore throat/lurgy (I hope!).

Caution I hope doggy is okay :)

My clinic told me not to book with GP until after first scan with them...

So my main boss just called me to clarify a technical legal point before she meets with CEO tomorrow and she asked me and I told her... never have been able to lie or even do a "no comment" with her!!!! I swore her to secrecy....

I have to continue with Clexane and Prontogest injections plus Crinone and Cyclogest until week 10 - I stocked up on Arnica cream at Boots! As well as pregnancy supplement!!! I am still in shock and have not yet processed any of this....

Evening ladies. One quick additional symptom I just thought of since achieving BFP. I believe this is in part due to pregnancy (the books told me this could happen) and part due to Crinone (probably smaller part), anyway... extra leakage from fanjo. Mostly watery and clear in colour. Not loads, nothing a thin liner can't handle. Just made me panic a few times as I was convinced I was bleeding and ran off to loo. Thought I'd share in case any of you ladies experience this. Apparently it's completely normal, and either I've got used to it or it reduces as time passes. Oh, and finally these last few days slightly itchy boobs (the top cleavage bit that's not in the bra). Thought this might be irritation from perfume so have stopped using there, yet to see if that cures but doesn't seem to have done. Ooh, and ASOS mat clothes order arrived yesterday. Scary stuff and also bit paranoid/superstitious about ordering so soon but it was only 2 things in the sale... and my jeans are already feeling uncomfortable. x

pickle162 · 23/03/2016 20:51

Yup you?im about 20mins behind as I tape everything :)

taydex · 23/03/2016 20:58

P.S. Slightly off topic but loving Master Chef. Apart from my favourite today being the grey haired guy who didn't get through...

taydex · 23/03/2016 20:59

Sh*t sorry didn't realise you weren't live!

Kwick709 · 23/03/2016 21:07

I have recorded MasterChef - just started to watch - it is like a long lost friend has returned...oops taydex just read your post about grey haired one...

Maternity clothes... kwick goes off into a pleasant day dream....

BTW taydex do you know how to get hold of one of those "Baby on Board" badges... or am I jumping the gun a bit?
also would appreciate a crash course on how to express my upduffedness - if yesterday was the end of the 2WW am I 2+1?

OP posts:
pickle162 · 23/03/2016 21:22

Omg I totally sore the advert for Creme de la Creme. Looks AMAZING!! Do love food and house programs (& a bit of greys anatomy and criminal minds lol)

It's so lovely reading all your posts, makes me all happy.

cloud hope the pains are nothing serious and just a blip that might have had anyway but just worrying when pregs

Ooh talking mit babey...have any of you seen the adverts for Bridget Jones 3....looks fab! Patrick Dempsey is in it too 💕💕💕💕

Kwick709 · 23/03/2016 21:25

oooh may give it a whirl then pickle I loved the first film (and book) but felt that the second one was just too far out.
Is it wrong to fancy Greg Wallace? Blush

OP posts:
taydex · 23/03/2016 21:42

Whataaat?! Why do I not know about this Bake Off Creme de la Creme?! I LOVE cooking programs and houses programs.

Kwik - No, I don't know about the badges but I'd definitely like one... Will take a nosey online. So, almost right on the timings. But you need to add in the 2 weeks ish back to your last period. How many weeks and days ago was the first day of your last period? I'm guessing probably about 4 weeks and 3 days or something. That would make you 4+3. So basically you're already about 2 weeks up duffed already when they IUI/IVF you. Weird but there it is. Make sense?

Ooh, I love a bit of Bridget Jones. I actually work with a lady in the US who is actually really called Bridget Jones. I know, crazy!

pickle162 · 23/03/2016 22:03

I only saw the advert tonight-on tue 8pm on bbc2 :)

Kwick709 · 24/03/2016 07:51

That is very wierd taydex so pregnancy is not really 9 months? I am sure I will get more educated soon... Once I have got over shock!

The Bake Off is with professional chefs - ate nearly a packet of ginger nuts after seeing trailer :( did not make for a restful night.

OP posts:
taydex · 24/03/2016 10:47

Yeah, weird hey? So by the time you get your BFP you're already about a month pregnant. Oh, and it's not 9 months. It's actually 9 months and 1 week. 9 months is 39 weeks, and pregnancy is 40 weeks. Who knew it was so complicated?!

Just thought of another symptom (here's me saying I've not really had any symptoms until I actually stop and think about it!). Extra saliva. Yeah, that's a weird one. I'm sure one of the books explained why and I have to say I've not really noticed it recently so maybe it's better or I've just got used to it. I guess I noticed it most around about 5 weeks.

My office has been full of sick people coughing and sneezing and spreading their germs this week. One delight of pregnancy is supposedly a reduced immune system. Pair that with the fact we can't take much by way of medication and I'm quite peed off at these people bringing their germs in. I've not fallen yet, but I've a sneeky feeling it's only a matter of time Angry I'd like to avoid being sick for our holiday so if I can make it through today not catching anything that'll be good.

Cloudburn · 24/03/2016 15:35

Okay, just seen advert for Bridget Jones 3! Sooooo having to go see that!! Grin

Haven't watched any Masterchef UK yet, I'm more of a Masterchef Australia kinda girl, but I may be converted. ;)

Cloudburn · 24/03/2016 15:58

Well good news, didn't wake up with pain this morning so I'm taking that as a good sign. I was starting to get a quite crampy yesterday evening but your post Taydex reminded me that we can actually take Paracetamol if we have to, so I took one of those, plus a hot water-bottle, and that seemed to do the trick.

On other good news, it's looking hopeful that'll I'll have a contract job starting April. My ex-boss recommended me for it and I met the CEO on Monday. I thought they were wanting a perm role, but I decided (somewhat contrary to my previous statements!) that I wasn't comfortable accepting a perm role when, fingers crossed, I'll be leaving the country in 5 months to have a baby! (Especially not when I was being put forward by someone I respect) So I had decided to say I had a "commitment" in September so I couldn't commit beyond August at this stage. However someone suggested I just tell them the truth, that I just found out I was pregnant, and actually that felt like the right decision, so I did! Such an odd moment!

She was really lovely about it though, and as it turned out a 4-5 month contract would actually work quite well for them. She also asked whether I'd consider doing 4 days a week, which I'd wanted to suggest but didn't want to put too many barriers in the way, so that was perfect for me too!

Anyway, it's progressing nicely, hopefully will know next week, but it's nice knowing I won't have worry or hide anything from them. (But my circumstances are a little unique, depending on your relationship, I'd still maintain not telling employers until 3 months is up. But that's just me. Kwick sounds like you have a good relationship with your boss. Smile You relieved that she knows?)

And as for that Cyclogest leaking - tell me about it! Sometimes it looks like I'm peeing soap!! Jeez, the things we do...

Kwick709 · 24/03/2016 17:34

I came home early - just feel yucky - sore throat, snottage and general lurgyness :(
Raging acid but that is mormal for me.

cloud so glad you are feeling better and that you have worked out your work.
I too LOVE Masterchef Australia - have a rerun on at the mo - but all I can find are old series - am I missing something?

taydex wear a mask and STEP AWAY from any sneezers!
When do you leave for Devon? Please have lots of cream teas on my behalf Cake

Cyclogest up fanjo has not worked -- feels like fanjo is too full, so will revert to other place and do something about potential leakage Hmm... Would actually prefer injections to this!

Oh and I do get on well with my boss but I should not have told her so soon... I am just not able to lie/circumvent a direct question from her...

pickle162 · 24/03/2016 21:42

Sorry your feeling so poorly kwick! Lots of rest, sleep and cooking tv for you over next few days
Cloud-congrats on ur new job Star
You pretty much seem to be getting new jobs and preggers all at same time :)

Kwick I'm like you,am awful at lying or not disclosing everything to my managers. I tried and hide things and then it comes out like word vomit
Happy Easter weekend girlies, hope no one has to work x

Cloudburn · 24/03/2016 22:49

Yeah, I'd be the same Kwick and Pickle, if someone came right out and asked there'd be no point in trying to lie cos I'd do it so badly anyway they would know! Besides, my motto is, I'd rather deal with the consequence of the truth than the consequence of a lie. I know, so philosophical! Wink.

Right, off to eat more chocolate bunny...

INeedNewShoes · 25/03/2016 01:54

Sorry to hear you're not well Kwuck . Hope you recover soon.

That sounds like a perfect work arrangement Cloud

I'm the same - hopeless at lying and my boss is a friend so I've kept her in the loop. Hope it doesn't backfire. I've been there ten years so I'm hoping that counts for something!

INeedNewShoes · 25/03/2016 01:56

Oops! Kwick not kwuck which I'm guessing is what a duck from Hull might say.
