Rosie sorry for AF and that your body is messing with you. It's completely normal to have a weird cycle occasionally, hopefully that's what's happened. Fx this is your month!

DizzyM hope your SMEPing goes well!

Hello to everyone else
I'm still suffering the gastro type side effects. It's been quite bad today. I'm struggling to eat which probably doesn't help and I'm due to go up to the full dose in a couple of days. I was on metformin when I had GD and didn't get any of this, no idea what the difference is!
Thanks for the citrus tip Rosie, my mouth has been quite dry too (I thought I was maybe dehydrated) so I'll give it a go!

Magpie, sorry to hear the meds are making you feel crap. I know that feeling.
Are you feeling sick as part of it? You can buy anti sickness over the counter at the pharmacy, but only if you say it's for migraines. Little tip that might save you some hassle.

I'm on day5 of my meds and felt a bit funny this morning, it passed by lunch time though and I didn't need my anti sickness. They're different to the over the counter ones and the potential side effects are interesting, especially if they occurred at work. 'Uncontrollable head jerking' being just one of them! Lol. X

Hey ladies, sorry about a post only about me, but I wanted to send you a quick update. Our ivf is progressing. They collected 13 eggs today. I'm praying that many are mature and will fertilise. It's been a stressful journey to get here but things are progressing quickly for us now. Much love to you all.

Aww Boris, that sounds really promising. 13 sounds like a good amount, hope they are good ones. All FX crossed for you.

Sending high temp wishes for you Kellz.

Better get busy on the week off Bird. Try not to tire him out too much though.

Is fertility friend any good? Also how accurate do you check your temps, just to 1 decimal? I might start, I have a thermometer than will do to 1decimal, don't really know much about it, I'll google.

Hope everyone's ok. Happy Wednesday x

MagpieCursedTea · 02/03/2016 19:12

Rosie I've been using fertility friend for years and I love it. I'll continue to use it to track my cycles for as long as I have them even if I'm not TTC. It's better to use a thermometer that measures to two decimal places as you need to be able to pick up on small changes.

Boris that sounds really positive. Keeping everything crossed for you!

Bird that's excellent timing from your DH, make the most of it!

Kellz that's a beautiful looking chart. Hope that temp stays up.

Sammy glad to hear you haven't needed the anti sickness meds yet, those side effects sound interesting! Thanks for the tip about the migraine meds. I've been quite queasy but the worst problem was everything I ate going straight through me Blush

The side effects have been better today so hopefully my body is adjusting to the medication. The dose goes up tomorrow though so worried they'll get worse again. On the plus side I haven't had any bleeding or spotting today. I doubt the metformin would help this quickly and not holding my breath about the bleeding staying away but maybe the norethisterone reset things a bit.

It's all looking good for you boris. Fx for you.

Kellz your chart is looking promising.

Rosie I use FF and think it's great. I only use the free version though but it does what I need it to do and makes things easier to track.

Bird sounds like a week filled with dtd! Excellent timing.

Magpie hope the side effects and bleeding stay away. It can work really quickly for some people and hopefully your are one of those.

I'm off for acupuncture now and will report back later.

NurseRosie · 02/03/2016 19:43

I have the Period Diary app, which just predicts your cycle. Is Ff more detailed?

Report
MagpieCursedTea · 02/03/2016 20:08

Rosie I've not used period diary but you can use ff to chart your temps and it builds up a pattern of your cycles over time to make predictions. You can also record CM, OPK, when you DTD, medication taken and loads of other signs and symptoms. I have the VIP features so can access lots of analysis like the pregnancy monitor and chart overlays. They have a website which probably explains it all better than I can. There's a charting course on there too which I found really useful.

DizzyM hope you're having a lovely acupuncture session!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 03/03/2016 01:10

Rosie I use the free version of FF as well - I have tried others but prefer FF.

DizzyM hope the acupuncture went well?

Magpie great news if your side effects are subsiding already...and hopefully it stays that way. Also no bleeding must be such a relief!

How are you getting on Sammy? Hopefully still feeling okay and not experiencing any of those side effects!!

Hooray Boris Star 13 sounds great - everything crossed for maturation and fertilisation.

Kellz great looking chart...fx for you! I'm okay - in the middle of my cycle and at ov time but have been ill so haven't been able to dtd for a few days. Am feeling better today so will try and grab DP later on.

Great news about DH's time off work Bird

Genghis - thank you for asking. I'm ok, no sickness yet so haven't had to take the anti nausea meds with the crazy side effects! Lol.
Hope you're feeling better now? So annoying when illness stops you dtdcat the crucial time! Xx

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 03/03/2016 10:52

Sammy great that everything is going well so far and fingers crossed it stays that way. I'm feeling a lot better - a bit annoyed with myself for being sick but I know there was no way I could have faced dtd so just have to get over it (and hope I oved early/late!)

Ghengis hope you're feeling better and managed to dtd. It's frustrating when you're all ready to go and then illness gets in the way.

I had a lovely acupuncture session last night. It lasted 2 hours as was the first appointment. I saw a different lady to last time as she has moved away but the work with the same team. She treated me with needles and moxa which felt amazing. She also said she gives the moxa sticks to her patients especially to use at home in the tww as treatment with heat at that time is crucial. I will have weekly sessions for 4 weeks and then fortnightly. She gave me loads of advice about diet and dtd timings.

MagpieCursedTea · 04/03/2016 08:17

Genghis the no bleeding is a massive relief! Hope you're feeling much better and managed to DTD.

Sammy how are the drugs going? I hope the sickness is staying away.

DizzyM sounds like an amazing acupuncture session, what's moxa?

How's everyone else doing?

I'm still battling side effects, hoping they staying away today as it's my birthday and I'm off out for lunch. We were going to have a whole day out but I didn't want to be far from my bathroom. Feeling a bit sorry for myself as I really thought (stupidly) that I'd be pregnant by now. Milestones are hard when TTC. I can't even down my sorrows in cake as in sticking to low GI. Well maybe one little slice...

Happy birthday magpie :). Hope you manage to enjoy your day. Are you not allowed to take anything to combat the side effects?

I'm doing ok, so far feeling fine. Have a scan today to see how things are going and am nervous that my lining will be too thin and I'll have to up my dose. I'm very reluctant to use the anti sickness after reading the common side effects... Of course I will if I need to though, head jerking is better than constant nausea! Xx

Rosie I used period diary but didn't like it. I switched to ovia and glow. All of the algorithms work better when they have about three months of data to chew on. At first non are particularly reliable. Loads of people love FF but I do quite like Ovia

Purdey thank you so much. I'd not be here without your and lucies encouragement.

Magpie happy birthday! milestones are tough, be good to yourself today. Cake and Flowers for you.

Dizzy that all sounds lovely.

Gengis you poor thing. Hope you feel better soon.

As for me all of my eggs were mature and 10 had a great time with DHs sperm and fertilised. I get to find out tomorrow how many are dividing and conquering as planned. anxious times.

Just popping on quick to say hello!

Magpie snap!! It's my birthday today too! Haha, from weird bleeding similarities to birthday's on the same day lol.

Really sorry to hear about all the nasty side effects - really hope you get them under control soon. Totally get what you mean about feeling sorry for yourself. I'd alsoset todayas a kind of 'deadline' for myself a couple of years ago - who knew it would take so long!

GPs appt was ok. He said he was disappointed in how the hospital handled my case and he chased them on the gynae appt. Still not heard anything tho :(

Sorry for AF Rosie
FX for you Kellz - all looks good!
Here's hoping 13 is lucky for you Boris
Hope you're feeling better now Genghis and Nomio

Plus hugs to everyone else!

Off away for the weekend with a sod the diet attitude. Will deal with everything when I return to the real world lol. See you all soon xxxx

Blueberry have a great weekend you totally deserve it. Fx your appointment comes through quickly.

Boris I'm so pleased things are going so well for
you. Fx for more good news tomorrow.

Sammy wishing you lots of luck with your scan.

I'm on cd10 so time to start the opks again. I ov'd on cd12 last cycle but have a feeling it will be a bit later this cycle as I haven't had any symptoms yet.
