My second scan showed things progressing well. I don't fully understand this ivf lark but the clinic seem reasonably pleased so confirmed I should travel out next week so they can harvest my egg factory (8 promising follicles). I should be able to update you all Wednesday or Thursday. I had a bit of a nightmare with the next drugs I need, they hadn't sent me enough prescriptions to see me through so that was stessful trying to sort out last night.

Couldn't wait, did a POAS this morning, BFN. 4 days before AF so will wait and see.

Sounds really promising Boris. I hope the good eggs will work for you.

I have never really thought about alternative medicine before, sort of goes against some of my nursing practice, but will def consider it in the future.

Hope everyone's well, have a great Sunday x

Hope you're on the road to recovery nomio.

Boris things are looking promising for you. Keeping everything crossed this is it for you.

Rosie it's still too early for a definite result.

I do recommend acupuncture. It is very relaxing and as I have low progesterone I'm convinced it's what made me ovulate.

MagpieCursedTea · 28/02/2016 10:51

Rosie sorry for the bfn but it's very early, you're still in with a chance! Never nice to see the single line though.

Boris your egg factory action sounds positive. Sorry to hear about the medication problems, extra stress is the last thing you need. Hope it's all sorted now.

Genghis does that mean you'll be trying it out then? As I said, I only tried it because of here and I'm so glad I did.

Nomio glad your back is feeling a bit better. Don't push yourself too hard though! Did they say what type of injury it is or give you any exercises to strengthen it?

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday. My bleeding is slowing down but still getting cramps/lower back pain.

Hold on in there Rosie. You still have a few days to go.

Still no sign of AF so I'm on cd31. I promised DH that I would hold out a few days. Part of me wants to daydream about the what ifs

It's still early Rosie so fingers crossed it was just too soon!

Sorry to read that you're still in pain Blue and hope the gp appointment goes well tomorrow.

I'm so desperate Magpie that I would though I'd probably have to hide the real reason from DP...and also find a place here.

Boris sounds stressful about the drugs - is it sorted now? Glad the scan went well!

Bird that is so frustrating...I'm impressed with you holding out!

So I got one lot of blood tests over and done with and also managed to get the paperwork for the HSG (small steps!)

Hi everyone! I'm back from my hols & climbing aboard this shiny new bus! Just been trying to catch up.

boris I'm so excited that you're beginning treatment, keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you! Same for you lucie and sammy!

fuzzy congrats on the bfp! It's about time we had some good news!

Hello to all the newbies, grads, and usual suspects! Grin

No news here! I'm now cd17, took my temp for the first time in a week (left the thermometer at home while I was away!) it looks like I've not ov'd yet but had a load of ewcm waiting in me pants for me when I arrived home last night after a long journey with no loo stop Hmm. So it's difficult to tell whether the soy worked for me or not as I'm now within the usual zone where ov could happen any day now (or in 3 weeks time). Will dtd later. Can't be arsed poas to check. Have asked DP to chase up his SA referral this week as its been a while now since GP referred him and we've heard nothing. I'm still past caring about this whole thing now, I thought I might suddenly become full of enthusiasm again when it was time but I haven't. I'm clearly not going to get pg without help. We'll keep dtd at the right times for now but sod obsessing over sticks, charts and symptoms. I'm so over it.

Report
birdboo · 29/02/2016 14:08

dizzy I think we will be giving up on the opks when the lot I have run out. Every single one I have used has been positive and we've Dtd perfectly. I got them to reasure me that I do ovulate.

Well AF has arrived. DH didn't quite get why I was upset. He is so practical about things; he very much has settled that it's going to be a long ride. Apparently I need to stop being inpatient! Going to open the wine I saved once I get home. I feel so exhausted I could fall asleep at work.

BorisIsBack · 29/02/2016 14:42

Dizzyn welcome back. Hope you OV soon and this DTD is well timed.

Bird - sorry for AF, it's aweful each time she arrives. enjoy the wine tonight.

Waves to kir, thanks lovely. Hope to join you for a mat leave coffee locally sometime :)

Gengis, it's all progress to your bfp.

Hi blueberry! Hope your appt today goes ok.

Flowers birdpoo for the arrival of af, but at least your limbo is over. Bin the opks, they're useless for anyone with gynae issues if you ask me. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is endo caused by estrogen dominance? As that might be the reason for your opks always being positive (I'm sure I read that somewhere). Try temping, much more reliable.

Where are you in your cycle kellz? I will keep temping, only because it's useful to know when af will be due. But I'm not obsessing over daily temps any more. It was bliss last week though not having to think about it.

Thanks boris. I keep forgetting to ask how your DH got on with the Royal parks HM ballot? I didn't get in Sad.

I've just ran 13 miles. I bet ov will be delayed now Grin

DizzyN good to see you back, hope your holiday was awesome! Sorry to hear your enthusiasm is still gone. Maybe letting go of all the charting etc will be a good thing! Fx the soy is working for you, the EWCM is a good sign.

Genghis sounds like you're making good progress!

Blueberry how was your GP appointment? Any further along?

Hello to everyone else, hope your weeks are getting off to a good start.
I'm suffering a bit from the metformin side effects and trying hard to stick to low GI foods. Hoping it all helps with the PCOS!

Report
DizzyNorthernBird · 29/02/2016 15:54

magpie how did you get prescribed metformin so quickly? My GP wouldn't consider it for me.......

Report
MagpieCursedTea · 29/02/2016 16:24

The gynaecologist prescribed it at my appointment. I was really shocked he gave it to me as I thought he'd do more tests. I did have gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with my DS (which I just read a couple of days ago can be associated with PCOS) so I don't know if that had something to do with it? I have annual blood sugar tests because of the GD and they've always been in range although I noticed the last one was near the top of the range so maybe that's why?
I'm also a bit heavier than I should be and he said that losing weight might help (I'm lighter than I was when I got pregnant with DS though). So I don't know if they also consider it helpful above a certain weight?
To be honest, I didn't ask too much as I didn't want him to change his mind!

Hi everyone, I need advice and yet more reassurance please. I'm still spotting, been 5 days. This is really not like me. I feel like I'm PMSing but why am I still spotting, and it's abit more today but not like AF. I'm worried because I have never been anything other than my regular 28 day cycle. Am I over reacting?

Sorry about AF's arrival. FX fir next cycle. Have some wine and choc and relax.

Hi Dizzy, nice to read you. I hope you had a good holiday and feel relaxed.

Hope everyone else is ok and making progress x

Sorry about AF Bird - I hope you enjoyed your wine last night!

Rosie I have no advice about the spotting and hope someone else will be along soon to help. When is AF due? Flowers

How did your appointment go Blue?

How's the 2ww going Kellz?

Welcome back DizzyN. Sounds like you had a relaxing holiday, and good work on leaving the thermometer behind! I also echo your lack of enthusiasm - apart from checking out my microscope (which tbh is more for fun at this stage) we loosely follow SMEP with a bit more of a concerted effort in the middle of my cycle. I just want all these tests done so I can move to the next step.

Magpie sorry about the side effects of the medication - I hope they subside!

Hello to everyone else!

DizzyMerry · 01/03/2016 16:03

Sorry AF got you bird.

Hope your appointment went well bird. Really hope you get to the bottom of this Flowers

Sounds like you had a relaxing holiday dizzy. Good news about your DP's referral coming through. Hopefully things will start moving for you now.

Keeping my fx for you kellz.

Magpie hope the side effects are short lived.

Rosie I don't have any advice but our cycles can all of a sudden start doing some weird things. Hopefully someone else will have some advice to offer.

AF finished on Sunday and we dtd last night. Hoping to follow SMEP this cycle too.

Report
NurseRosie · 01/03/2016 18:09

AF has arrived early and with a vengeance. Nevermind, just hoping this isn't a sign of things to come with my body. Hope everyone is ok.

Better get down to dtd Dizzy, FX for this cycle.

Hope appointment was helpful and everything's ok Bird.

Are you feeling better Magpie? The side effects should settle down and citrus is good to help with the dry mouth (common side effect).
