Hi all, this is my first time TTC and would be grateful for anyone else who wants to join this journey with me until I get a BFP.

I have been using the Period Diary app to track my ovulation/fertility dates. I have a period that lasts 6 days and usually my cycle is approx 27days. According to the app my ovulation date was yesterday (13th Feb). We have tried twice before this date.

Wondering if there are any others which have had successful pregnancies using solely apps? Or if they have any tips on identifying ovulation?

Would love to share the highs and lows with you lovely people on this journey x

Hi both. I was totally nervous too but there was one night last week where I couldn't sleep at all and i knew i was about to get my period so was bloody pissed off loo. and at 5 in it felt like a great idea to post a message here lol. To recap I'm 30 been off the pill for nearly 11 months and still no sign of a baby. I did have a few health problems last year which caused me stress and they say stress is no good for baby making so that could have set me back. Going to try acupuncture this month. Have my first appointment on Monday.

Harpsichord85 · 01/04/2016 22:12

Bellini how was your fertility astrologer reading?

allyouhavetodoissmile · 02/04/2016 11:34

I have a few health problems myself and then plus being on the pill for 14years is also worrying me; feeling it might take me a while to get preggo. Acupuncture, always wanted to try it as I have painful bladder syndrome and wanted to try it for that but never did. But didn't know could help with conception, have let us know how it goes on Monday. X

JustmeC · 02/04/2016 20:02

I have a feeling af is on its way...if it hasn't appeared by tomorrow I'll do a test but I'm pretty certain what the result will be! Hope you're all having a good weekend!

Bellini239 · 02/04/2016 21:29

Hi Harp and everyone and newbies welcome welcome !! So harp I got my reading back from my fertility astrologer she said that I'd definitely have 2 children but that both my and husband are more likely to conceive in the second half of this year.... Who knows if it's a load of rbsh but I guess we'll see!! How are you and everyone? So guys, I had a question by im ovulating soon and alert this may be TMI; how long after sex do you like down and are there any positions you prefer? I had sex earlier today and lay down for about 10 mins then all of it was trickling out- thoughts anyone or advice?? Xxxx

nishp13 · 02/04/2016 22:45

Hey Bellini so your post & thought I'd give some feedback.

I got my BFP with using the on top position and laid down for around 35mins whilst lifting my legs in the air and also doing an air cycle.

Hope this helps.

JustmeC · 03/04/2016 11:19

Hi all. BFN for me this morning. I was fully expecting that but still feel so disappointed. No matter how much we stared at it that other line just didn't show up.

Bellini239 · 04/04/2016 21:07

Hi everyone how's it going? Xx

Blondie0912 · 05/04/2016 19:55

Heeeey ladies!!! I'm finally back from vacation now- and on CD9 so getting close to crunch time (if my cycle behaves this month...!) Will be tiring out the DH for the next 2 weeks Halo. Awwww Justme- don't get disheartened- it may be too early yet- it's not over until AF arrives!!!!!! How is everyone else doing?

nataliefruit · 05/04/2016 20:18

Hi all, not read the thread in ages - lots to catch up on! :)

Sorry to all who AF have caught - fingers crossed and baby dust to you all!

I'm in my 2ww now but not holding out much hope as I didn't DTD on or after ov as I hurt my back hoovering Angry Doesn't stop me from symptom spotting tho! Grin

If AF doesn't show up by 16th I'll be testing - if I can wait that long! Wink

Bellini239 · 08/04/2016 22:17

Yo yo everyone! How's it all going? Don't think I'm preggers majorly pms today! Lol! Xxx

nataliefruit · 09/04/2016 00:01

Hey Bellini, still in the 2ww & trying not to symptom spot. Difficult when I've had a bit of cramping on one side this evening, change in cm& an increased heart rate!

Hoe you doing Bellini?

Bellini239 · 09/04/2016 08:22

Hahah yeah I know it's so difficult not to symptom spot! How long have you been ttc for Natalie? I can't believe it's taking soooooo long!!!! X

Bellini239 · 09/04/2016 22:58

Oh man just had so much junk food, pizza and wine galore, the ttc diet is not going well #fail lol!!!!!

Harpsichord85 · 10/04/2016 09:12

Hi everyone! Lots to catch up on. So I went to see the acupuncturist last week and she was lovely. She gave me a thermometer to record my bbt every morning. I'm currently cd17 and I normally ovulate on day 19 I think so getting close! My temperature has been rising too! I normally stay laying down for at least 15 mins. I try just to have a nap which passes the time lol.

Bellini that's great news about the astrologers reading. If anything at least it keeps your mind positive.

I'm going back to the acupuncturist on Thursday. It's reassuring to have someone help practically move things along. Although it's a tad expensive! She's encouraged my dh to get tested as well and he seems up for it.

Will report back next week. It's going to be a busy week for me!
Xx

nataliefruit · 10/04/2016 09:34

To be fair Bellini this is only my 1st month of trying but that's because we decided last year we wanted kids but the timing just wasn't quite right (wish we just started then!) So I've had almost a year of anticipation hence why I'm so eager to conceive! What about you?

That's interesting Harpsichord, hope it helps things quickly! Does it hurt?

Harpsichord85 · 11/04/2016 18:23

It does hurt a little! Just a prick though and then it's gone. For some weird reason I wasn't expecting it to. There was one near my thumb which felt quite uncomfortable when I moved but that was about it. Other than that it was oddly relaxing..

Bellini239 · 11/04/2016 21:38

Hi everyone how's your days been?? Natalie: well, you've only started ttc so it's natural to want it happen straight away and it's such an exciting time of life... I've been ttc for 8 months but oddly more relaxed about it now then I was at the start!

Harp: what do you think of acupuncture? I was going to do some fertility acupuncture in east London but it's quite expensive and sometimes the cynical in me gets the better where I think it's maybe just a big heap of hocus pocus. Xx

Harpsichord85 · 12/04/2016 08:51

Morning everyone! Hope you are all well. I agree Bellini I am more relaxed now after over 10 months of trying than I was at the beginning
I'm beginning to enjoy the process and take things as they come.
Although I believe more in natural methods rather than having a doctor products and poke me! That's why acupuncture appealed to me so I did some reading around it. I read a blog by the model Ruth Crilly called 'the uphill' I recommend you all read it. It's hilarious. She talks about her ttc troubles and she resorted to acupuncture and It worked quite soon for her.

Also if you find the right practioner they can give some good practical advice. For example my lady has asked me to record my bbt so she can see if there's a problem in my cycle. She's also said that if she suspects a particular issue she can make referrals to the doctor and she will give us advice on how to handle the nhs because it can be quite restrictive nowadays. So if you can find the right person then it can be really helpful. If you think you want to try it go on recommendations or shop around until you find someone who is experienced in fertility acupuncture. It can be worth the money then.

I'm cd 18 and I normally ovulate on day 19 I think! Fingers crossed!

Have a good day everyone xxx

nataliefruit · 12/04/2016 14:35

Hi ladies, hope youre all well.

That's interesting Harpsichord. I'd never be able to do it as I'm terrified of needles (something I'll have to get over if we do get pregnant!) but ask me again in a year's time! Grin

AF is due on Thurs so counting down the days. Haven't had any more (imaginary or otherwise) symptoms so who knows what will happen. I've got a couple of tests ready to go at the weekend if she doesn't turn up but just trying to stay distracted until then.

Good luck to you all Grin

Harpsichord85 · 15/04/2016 12:07

Hi every one!

Hope you are all well! In my 2 week window now..Bring on the wait! I feel no different to other months but trying not to symptom watch....

How's everyone else?

Fuzyfelt23 · 15/04/2016 13:00

Hi All,

Also First Time TTC. Cycle 1.
At the end of my 2WW, AF due in 2 days and I'm getting a bit jittery.
Have had symptoms but not sure if its my mind playing tricks :-|
May take an early test today to see what the result is.
I use an app called Ovia, it's great, gives you commentary on what you input.

Harpsichord85 · 15/04/2016 18:50

Hi fuzyfelt! Just downloaded Ovia and it's great! Don't know how I hadn't discovered it before. I now have 3 fertility apps on my phone...obsessed much? Have a good weekend everyone!

nataliefruit · 15/04/2016 19:02

Welcome Fuzyfelt. I use ovia as well, handy app to look back at previous cycles if nothing else.

AF is now 2 days late & negative clear blue test this morning so not sure what's going on. Had what could've been symptoms but you know what it's like when you're looking for symptoms you'll always find them! Where is everyone else in their cycles?
