Anyone else starting their 2ww?

Hi all

I think I am 2dpo and think AF is due 4th Feb so 13 days until I will be testing, if AF doesn't arrive.

I know it's not really possible to have symptoms this early but I have had frequent urination, excessive saliva and a slight metallic taste in my mouth today. I think it must be all in my head, because I don't remember having these symptoms the last time I had a BFP (which ended in an early m/c).

Is anyone else just starting a 2ww?

Hopefully this will be your time Lily! Lie down for as long as possible afterwards
I woke up at 1.30 this morning with cramps and felt sick and resigned myself to AF but nothing. I woke up again at 4 to feed dd and the sickness and cramps had gone. Still no AF although I do feel a bit sick. That may be due to exhaustion from being up half the night feeling ill and feeding dd though. I've just been out and finally bought some tests and may do one tomorrow morning!

FriendlyGhost · 07/03/2016 12:17

Ahhhh! Tested and got a BFN. Still no AF and it was DD's swimming lesson this morning so I was convinced it would turn up in time for that. I still don't know if I'm late or not but it's been 15 days since we dtd and 33 days since last AF so I would have expected a positive by now if there was going to be one. Oh well I guess I'll have to work on DH to start trying properly. In the meantime I'm going to console myself with chocolate. Hope the rest of you have better luck soon!

shopaholic85 · 07/03/2016 18:57

Lily, it's a good thing you did poas otherwise you might have missed it!

Friendly, that must be so frustrating. You never know, it might become a bfp if af doesn't arrive.

I've deleted Ovia from my phone and stopped tracking my cycle. I'm just going to dtd as normal and hope for the best. DH and I are living apart at the moment, because of work, so think the tracking was putting additional pressure on us. I feel much happier now and have started making plans for the future that don't involve getting pregnant.

How is everyone doing?

I got a smiley face yesterday so I think my first one was a false positive. I have been a bit obsessed with poas this cycle which is annoying! I didn't want to miss it!

We DTD on cd 11, 12, 13 and ovulating today. Think I will have to give DH a rest tonight and DTD again tomorrow. I've pretty much covered it tho right??

Baby Bomb friend came round last night. My god it was hard work. I was dreading it and then got excited, but she turned up full of the attitude that the Pregancy was a hindrance, that life will not change and even off to Oz when the baby is 3 months old. WTF??! She knows what we are going through as well - her head is in the clouds. So feeling a bit fed up today and have feelings of despair. I don't even know what more I can do!

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/03/2016 11:11

Can I please join you? This seems like a nice friendly thread. Friendly did you test?

Lily did you see your friend? I hope it was okay if you did.

I'm in first cycle off the pill, using Ovia and if the pill didn't mess it all up completely I'm about 9DPO. Didn't use OPK.

Feeling absolutely awful! And if the nausea, tiredness, lack of appetite and sudden hatred of coffee of the last 3 days weren't making me feel like I'm symptom-spotting to insanity, DP is so massively excited it might be this month he's driving me nutty.

Af due 18th and there really isn't any point testing before then is there?
I'll be over the moon if I am pg, but don't want to get my hopes up, or let DP get too excited, as it could take ages.

Hope you're all having good days.

Theaks · 10/03/2016 11:14

Hi Lily, some people are insensitive and so unaware! My friend had her baby early this year, she upsets me regular- but it's not her fault. Throughout her pregnancy she kept asking if I was alright, her sympathetic face constantly said 'are you okay because I'm pregnant and you had 2 miscarriages'. Now baby is here she texts when she chooses to leave him with grandparents saying how much she misses her baby, and she wants to go get him and she is not coping. Just want to scream 'so do I!' But that wouldn't be the best.
Can't believe we back 'fun times' before the dreaded 2ww! I'm on cd 14 no and has a positive this morning, so all systems go. I'm just not sure what's the best- everyday? Every other? What's people's thoughts?

Lily35 · 10/03/2016 11:32

Theaks - you are exact same as me this cycle. Good luck to us both! Have you been DTD this month? Or waiting until u got a positive?
I was told every other day until ovulation then everyday until couple of days past it. I'm not very good at sticking to it tho cos it's too regimented!
*
Anne* - your symptoms sound very positive! Can u wait until 18th to test that is he question!? I did last month, the month before I couldn't. Not sure about this month!

Theaks · 10/03/2016 11:58

Yes let's hope we have some bfp this month! Keeping everything crossed. No we have done a bit of dtd so far. Like you I dont want it to be for 'baby making' it takes the fun out! Dtd cd 10,11,13 so far!

Try to hold out from testing a bit longer Anne! We are all guilty of allowed no symptoms spotting to take over. But you have a few good ones there. Fingers crossed for you.

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/03/2016 12:01

I'm definitely going to try Lily! I have a feeling if DP wasn't so overboard (it's lovely, I'm not ungrateful but oh the pressure!) I'd be itching to test asap. As he is I've gone into sensible mode managing expectations!

We usually DTD most days and missed one when Ovia said was I was fertile. I don't want to get to the point where thinking about it makes it a chore, but I can see how easily that can happen and we're at such an early stage.

Theaks that's so difficult. Have you ever told your friend how she's not helping by being a fricking pain?

Have you all told friends you're TTC? I haven't told anyone so a forum's worth it's weight in gold!

Theaks · 10/03/2016 12:31

Anne- No with my friend it's just not worth it. She doesn't realise and I will upset her if I mention, and I don't want to upset her. She is just so happy to be a mummy- and I don't blame her.
I think family and close friends just assume we are ttc after the 2 losses. But no one knew when we started out ttc, although we didn't have time to tell people as we dropped on after 2 months and it was a shock even fit us.

FriendlyGhost · 10/03/2016 13:34

Welcome Anne!
Lily your baby bomb friend is deluded Grin
AF finally arrived today so I've been feeling really crap and disappointed. I know it was a long shot for me but I was so late that I had convinced myself something was up. I really want to start trying properly now so will be working on persuading DH. I might start trying in April though because I already have a December baby and the thought of another one around Christmas is too much. Plus I'm going away for Easter so will probably miss the fertile period!
Really hope you all get your bfps soon. I'm going to keep checking in on you even if I'm not going to be playing the waiting game for another few weeks.

AnneLovesGilbert · 10/03/2016 16:30

Thank you Friendly. Sorry you're disappointed. Nice to have fun things to look forward to, trips away, and lots of practising!

Theaks - I was being daft, so sorry, of course people know you're etc and I'm so sorry for your losses. I had an early mc a few years ago, unplanned pg, when I was with my XH and that was hard enough.

This is my longest day without coffee probably ever, very weird. Wonder when I'll start getting withdrawal symptoms.

iwillbemrsminty · 10/03/2016 16:30

Afternoon all! Haven't been on here in a while peeps, how is everyone doing? I am in the 2ww, AF not due until next Friday and last 2 days have had brown and a tiny bit of pink spotting. We DTD before and throughout my fertile window (according to ovia bitch). Have never had spotting before, don't know what to think!

Anne i think i am in the same place as you!

Theaks · 10/03/2016 19:11

It's fine Anne, and I'm sorry for yours. It's horrible regardless of planned pregnancy or not.

raddersmrs · 10/03/2016 21:25

Can I join please??
In my first ever two week wait...just started too so a long time to go yet. AF due 29th March.

Had horrendous ovulation pains yesterday and opk was dark line so hoping ovulated today. No pains today. Not really seen any EWCM though so unsure. I only came off the pill beginning of February but first cycle started on time at the end of the month.

AnneLovesGilbert · 11/03/2016 13:28

Hi radders, sorry you're feeling crappy but good news on ovulating and fx for your bfp this month!

AnneLovesGilbert · 11/03/2016 13:31

Hello minty, are you due today or next Friday? I'm due next Friday. Still feeling rough, off coffee, biggie smoke making me want to hurl, keep getting hut flushes today, not sure what that's all about!

I started ovia as soon as I came off the pill and this is my first cycle. Didn't do opk so not even sure I ovulated and don't know how long my cycle will be as been on the pill for last couple of years.

Have any of you found ovia is accurate from first cycle off the pill or is nearly pointless for a while, until you've given it enough info?

iwillbemrsminty · 11/03/2016 14:21

Hi Anne yes next Friday too!! Think this is my second cycle? (it will be my second normal period since coming off the pill.) Bleurgh sorry you're still feeling rough, I'm feeling odd today, not ill just odd! Can't really put my finger on it. And had very very slight brown spotting (again only when wiping) this morning. I've used Ovia since coming off the pill and it predicted my last period more or less accurately when I had input the dates of previous periods, my last one arrived on CD30 instead of the predicted CD29, so pretty good. As for the other stuff, it remains to be seen! Are you going to hold off POAS until AF due date?

AnneLovesGilbert · 11/03/2016 14:40

That's good to know it was fairly accurate, I did the same with my previous pill dates. Based on that I'm due AF in a week and will defy try and wait to POAS till them or maybe even Monday after as over 50% of me thinks it's completely unlikely it'll have happened this month.

I've spent the last however many years trying desperately not to get pg and getting myself in a spin about it whenever I've been late, that I've talked myself into thinking while I definitely feel crappy it's all in my head!

DP keeps looking at me funny and I know he'll be disappointed if we haven't had a miracle first cycle conception I'm distracting him with lots of practising!

AnneLovesGilbert · 11/03/2016 14:41

Didn't ask you minty if you're waiting to POAS on Friday?!

iwillbemrsminty · 11/03/2016 15:00

Grin me too! Our lucky DP's ha ha!

Yep going to try and wait until Friday (at earliest) to poas. Easier said than done! In the meantime, as you said, we need to keep practising don't we!

AnneLovesGilbert · 11/03/2016 15:24

Alright, see you here in a week if not before. I'll wait if you do!

iwillbemrsminty · 11/03/2016 15:36

I'll be waiting for you Smile fx for some good news!

Lily35 · 12/03/2016 15:42

Hi everyone!
