Hi Azure! Saw your comment about reflexologist being attached to chiropodist and I wondered if I knew them. Haven't been to either since being pregnant and that means I cannot remember their names. But they are in Paddington Street W2 (?)I think, and the reflexologist (Jo?) used to shake her hands like she was getting rid of spirits and that gave me the creeps!! Are they the same ones?

Azure · 03/07/2004 14:03

Hi ShouldknowbyFriday, no the one I went to is in Lambs Conduit Street. The reflexologist wasn't quite so spooky sounding as yours!

rosies · 03/07/2004 17:21

SKBF,

she is pulling off negative energy... lol but she should be careful about shaking it off too much... its gotta go somewhere!

i discreetly drop it on the floor, so you wouldnt notice !

ShouldKnowByFriday · 04/07/2004 03:21

My head started spinning and I became irritated with this constant shaking of hands!! She spoke so fast, I left in a dazed state which felt weird. Sweet person though.

rosies · 04/07/2004 12:15

SKBF,

reflexology, to me, is not a wicky wacky therapy and i am sorry that your experience has maybe put you off it.

if the therapist does reiki also, i can almost see why she may have been doing this although, having said that, reiki practioners are very aware of energy and respect it.

sounds to me like she didnt ground you very well and could indeed have flicked some of that negativity back at you (irritable, spinning head). imo, my treatments are for my client and as such, i make sure they are relaxed enough to ask me to explain what i am doing and why, in a way that they are comfortable with. (i mean no disrespect to your therapist, btw).

we all conduct treatments in different ways and maybe this therapist was not in tune with you and your needs. dont be put off... i'd try another one, perhaps go by recommendation. lok up YP, yell.co.uk or thomson. ask what qualifications they have (and insurance), perhaps how long they have been qualified, specialist field (especially if pregnant or contemplating it). hopefully you will feel right about a therapist by their responses.

best wishes
rosie

ShouldKnowByFriday · 04/07/2004 21:23

Hi Rosies. I have since tried another reflexologist who also did theraputic back massage as had lower back problem who was calm and didn't talk nineteen to the dozen. Left relaxed but not dazed!
Actually, just wanted to mention, when trying for DS I had a massage/reflexology session two days before egg. I told her ttc, etc and that egg due in two days and could she see what she could do. Well, she worked on my feet and on my big right toe really pressed hard. I silently yelped and asked her later about big right toe. She said it represents (?) the pituitary (sp?) gland and that should help. Well, maybe it did because I became pregnant that month!! (First baby a surprise so don't have record of how long it usually takes me tc).
Update: CD32 and usually a 32/max 33 day cycle and no AF and no cramps like previous months!!
Keeping calm and not testing....tested FIVE times last month and kept feeling ill everytime I saw BFN. AND I had to discreetly dispose of prg tests!
Stomach churning slightly at thought of DH's face if it happens this month or another BUT finding this v effective for weight loss . (Reminding myself that DH said to friend of 4 kiddies that I can have as many as I want as long as he doesn't have to change).

rosies · 04/07/2004 23:50

hi SKBF,

the pituitary is generally seen as being in the big toe. it is the gland in charge of all the others and so is useful to work on for hormone imbalances and womens things.

if pressed too hard it can be felt as a sharp pain.

best wishes
rosie

Pes · 05/07/2004 15:27

Congratulations to Misdee, Ermentrude, Beetlebug and Girly . Wonderful news.
And good luck to everyone else (including me hopefully)

ShouldKnowByFriday · 06/07/2004 01:12

Well, it's CD33, no sign, no cramps and BFN this afternoon. Couldn't resist I'm afraid but did feel ill with disappointment. Looked at records and found out I was preg on CD35 and CD36 with previous two. Here's hoping...

Azure · 06/07/2004 11:22

Ooh, fingers crossed SKBF. Day 15 here - my Persona sticks finished yesterday with no ov indicated - grrrr. I ov'd day 15 last month, so hoping the same this, especially as DH is away on business for about 5 days from tomorrow.

bluestar · 06/07/2004 11:33

Morning all. Think I may have ov'd yesterday. If I did then should be back to normal for cycle length after last cycle's extension! Had ovulation pain on one side, headache, very tender boobs, and some ewcm so I made sure I didn't go to sleep straightaway last night! Temp has also gone a bit higher this morning too.

Good luck SKBF.

munchkinsusie · 06/07/2004 12:15

hi there,
i've been lurking here for a while, i'm in my second month of ttc. last month my LP was 8 days (temps dropped after 5 days). i'm now on day7 of this months LP and my temps are still high and i've not got the ususal pre-af spotting that i get. therefore, if i don't have af tomorrow, can i do a HPT or is it too early - i really want to know! also, the last two days i've been going to the loo alot and feeling very tired and had a pain in my right lower abdomen (ovary?) which i've never had before. what do you think?

Azure · 06/07/2004 14:13

Hi there Munchkinsusie. I understand that HPTs can work from around 10 days past ovulation, particularly a First Reponse type with a greater sensitivity. It sounds like you have a very short LP - I know others have had this problem and have been helped by the use of supplements such as agnus castus. Best of luck this cycle.

bluestar · 06/07/2004 15:07

OK this is message 424 on this thread and last time a new thread was started. Seeing as I have already started a thread before, who wants to start number 8?
