Azure, I have pretty much decided that I am not going to tell him of my cycle position anymore and just let him live in blissful ignorance! Seems easier that way.......

ShouldKnowByFriday · 23/06/2004 17:28

Hi everybody! Been keeping an eye on any announcements and also a low profile on my own position. CD 20 and it has either happened or it hasn't. Now it's a waiting game.
Good luck everybody for this month!

2ticks · 23/06/2004 17:48

Hi everyone - I'm CD26 and knew I wouldn't be able to wait until Sunday to test - did it a test this morning and there was a line!!!

Don't quite believe it yet and will no doubt test a few more times over the next week to make sure. I hope this sets off a baby boom on this thread!!

Tinker · 23/06/2004 17:51

What does CD mean?

2ticks · 23/06/2004 17:59

CD means Cycle Day - with first day of period being day 1.

Tinker · 23/06/2004 18:05

Ah, thanks. Couldn't work it out.

Azure · 23/06/2004 18:08

Woweeeee! Many congratulations 2ticks What a great way to start the weekend!

bluestar · 23/06/2004 18:27

2ticks, huge congrats to you . Wish you the very best over the next 8 months!

I also do not tell dh that we are doing it with a purpose although I think he pretty much guesses as he sees rather alot of action in a short space of time! I'm only on CD6 so a long way for me to go yet.

miranda2 · 23/06/2004 20:33

Hiya. CD14, and feeling very bizarre. I assume its to do with coming up to ovulation, but I've been having weird dragging feelings the last 2/3 days, as if my period was about to start. Can't poss be pregnant as haven't ovulated yet, so very strange...presumably its my body working up to ovulate, but haven't noticed this feeling before. Still I guess the pregancy mantra 'anything odd is normal' applies to ttc too!
BTW, my sister had her first baby at 11.35 this morning! Girl, Rosie, 8lb.6. So my ds is now a cousin once on each parental side - to two girlies!

ChaCha · 23/06/2004 22:08

Many congratulations 2ticks!!

Without a sign..without even a cramp! AF sneaked up on me this morning at work - so here I am again CD1. My specialist says i have disfunctional corpeus luteum and must take the progesterone after day 14 Will keep trying and trying and trying. I have to say though, i have a real problem keeping his swimmers in..it always come out! (sorry for TMI) i try the legs up high, bum on pillow thing but before i even get a chance its usually out..HERES TO ANOTHER MONTH!

Thanks ChaCha, Bluestar and Azure!!

I feel a bit of a fraud only being on the ttc thread for one month - I really hope that there is plenty of babydust around for next month!!

ShouldKnowByFriday · 23/06/2004 22:51

Congratulations 2tiks!! Chacha, remind me what corpeus luteum is please.

BeckiF · 24/06/2004 01:28

Hi Ladies ... CD250 , but have been having unusual sharp stabbing pains in my womb area, lower than before. Means nothing, but that's my latest report .... hope everyone else is doing well. We need more people to graduate!

ChaCha · 24/06/2004 12:18

Azure...I am CD2 - where are you? I feel crap!

OP posts:
ChaCha · 24/06/2004 12:19

Should Know by Friday - does this help - this is why i need the progesterone...

The corpus luteum produces progesterone. If you do not ovulate or you have a corpus luteum deficiency, you are probably low in progesterone. Progesterone increases the blood supply to the endometrium (uterine lining) so the fertilized egg has a place to nestle in. If there is no fertilized egg, the corpus luteum recedes, causing progesterone production to stop. This decreases the blood supply to the endometrium and causes menstruation to start.

A very very tentative BFP!

ShouldKnowByFriday · 24/06/2004 12:57

Thank you ChaCha!

A new thread for March 2005 has been started by AdvisePlease. Congrats AdvisePlease. What does BFP mean?

adviseplease · 24/06/2004 13:09

big fat positive

ok - am coming out now - just to confuse matters i am also ermentrude....

A question - i have a problem with short luteal phases normally but i ovulated earlier than usual this month and have a long cycle. Af is not due for about 6 more days at least. test this morning was positive.
But I have had slight spotting for afew days.

Now i am thinking two things: either i got preg last month.....or it is really really early days...and the short luteal phase might stop the pregnancy 'taking'....

is that possible? if you have a short luteal phase can it happen that you can get a positive test but if it isnt 10 days long, can it not 'take'? Or does a positive test mean it has implanted....

I should be happy but am worrying

adviseplease · 24/06/2004 13:12

basically what i am asking is.......
do the hormones which test detects start on implantation (in which case the short luteal thingy wont matter....???) or on conception and not implatned yet so short luteal phase might do its stuff???

adviseplease · 24/06/2004 19:25

anyone???

Beetlebug · 24/06/2004 19:46

Hi all.

I've been lurking for a couple of weeks and have decided to show myself. Here's a little background history for you. I'm 29, married DH on valentines day this year after being together for 15 years. We have DS aged 10 and DD aged 8 and this is our second month of ttc #3.

I'm currently on CD21 of 31 and hoping that AF does not pay me an unwelcome vist. Feeling like crap at the moment but I'm trying not to get too excited cos I felt exactly the same last month before AF reared her ugly head.

My DH and I have been BDing every other day although it can be difficult as his work shift varies from week to week, because of this I feel like he has been trying to do an Alfie Moon on me I keep chasing him round the house telling him he's got work to do (probaby not the best best approach for ttc).

Looking forward to building some new friendships here.

Babydust and good luck to all of us!

ChaCha · 24/06/2004 20:09

Welcome BeetleBug..but hope you wont be on here for too long x

Ermentrude..hope the others post soon with some advice, i havent got a clue..am excited for you..keep us all posted on what is going on..

smellymelly · 24/06/2004 21:41

Hi ermentrude / advice please...

It is apparently possible to test positive early, and then for it not to implant or something, I am not clear on it but there have been mumsnetters who have tested positive and then for it to be negative, esp if you know you have a short luteal phase.

How dark was your line on the test?

If it was as dark as the test line, then you would have fallen last month, if it is very feint then it would be this month. The only thing for you to do I'm afraid would be is wait and test again next week - easier said than done, I know.

By the way I tested postive 5 days before af was due, on dpo 10, and now I'm 12 weeks pregnant weeks twins!!
