Relaxed TTC Feb/March/April 2016

Hi,

We've just agreed to start TTC #1 in March so just starting to look at preparing for that - prenatal vitamins, losing some weight, etc.

I'm 33 and have only been with my OH for just over a year but we're both sure this is the relationship for us...we'll be getting married but want TTC as a priority and fit any wedding around Mother Nature.

Not planning any temp checking or charting or such like....maybe I'll change my mind if I'm not preggers after six months or so!

Anyone planning TTC about the same time and want to keep in touch on this thread for relaxed catch ups about preparing and then TTC?

Some CM, and we are DTD tonight anyway! I'm worried I might have missed it, as have long cycles....
I am going to rummage later, but not until DD is in bed!!

Pointlessfan · 09/02/2016 19:14

No I'm not temping or anything, perhaps I'm a bit too relaxed!

wispaxmas · 09/02/2016 20:43

Mango, I've never had a positive OPK and I used them for 3 cycles last time around and I have textbook 28/29 day cycles with O on CD14/15. TBH I think OPKs aren't worth using, you can miss the LH surge so easily and you can just keep an eye on CM instead.

pointless, too relaxed isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's so easy to go overboard and go crazy when TTC. I'm really hoping I don't get sucked down the rabbit hole!

Felipa · 10/02/2016 09:31

Officially 1dpo... Let the craziness begin lol.

thisisbloodyridiculous · 10/02/2016 10:00

Ok so I finished my withdrawal bleed on Sat after ending my last pill packet. Today I've got sore boobs pain similar but not as bad as cramps and light brown discharge. Any ideas wtf is happening

stumblymonkey · 10/02/2016 11:18

Pointless...def not too relaxed!

I'm only going to temp next month just because I have reasons to believe I could have PCOS which may mean I'm not ovulating and would like to know. If that wasn't the case I wouldn't be at all.

My 2ww is passing quickly this time as I'm not really thinking about it....when I think about it I seem to manifest pregnancy symptoms that are not really there!

This....it could be down to your hormone levels adjusting to no longer being on the pill?

I've been a lurker on this thread but now I can join! After going backwards and forwards on a month to start TTC we both decided on April last night, I'm so excited! We have a 10 month old DD and we were very lucky with her as I fell pregnant on cycle #1. Hoping it'll be that easy this time but I highly doubt it, I think we were just lucky. I've got 10lbs that I'd like to lose before we start TTC so I'd better start now!

AliceScarlett · 10/02/2016 13:02

Nice one on the chilled 2ww Stumbly

Welcome Marshpillow :) 1st cycle would be wonderful!

I'm on CD13, cycle 2. Seen ewcm for a few days, now back to like stretchy but white in colour...I don't even know what that means, is that creamy or ew? FF says it looks like I've already ovd, but I'm still highly fertile....seriously the more I try to predict ovulation the less I think it is actually possible. Think I'm out for this month, yesterday would have been perfect to dtd on if I have ovd but dh "wasn't really into it". Never mind.

mangocoveredlamb · 10/02/2016 13:13

Welcome Marshmallow!

We've been so ill we'll be lucky to conceive this month anyway!

I need antibiotics for tonsillitis. As I ovulated yesterday/today they'll be fine as implantation won't happen for nine/ten days anyway!

Pointlessfan · 10/02/2016 13:58

Welcome marshpillow - assume you are a fellow HIMYM fan?
I'm a very relaxed person generally, at work they call me the Voice of Reason! I'm going to give it a few months TTC before I start to worry, I know I'm the wrong side of 35 but I also know several people who have conceived when older than me.

SoozC · 10/02/2016 20:07

Pointless - I'm coming up to 35 this summer, DP is 47! Cycle#1 and ttc#1 but not worrying until we've been trying a while.

wispaxmas · 10/02/2016 21:21

Marshpillow!!! [wtf, I can't do a laugh-crying emoji on here?! I don't know how I can possibly communicate without it]

Hiya, anyways! Good luck, I'm not even TTC until May really, but who knows what'll happen between now and then. I really ought to lose some weight. After eating nearly an entire (small) jar of Nutella since yesterday I think I need a kick up the backside. My BMI was 28 last time I fell pregnant and I don't know what it is now.. Probably closer to 30, whoops. At this point I think I'd be happy just to get back to my previous level of overweight-ness Blush

wispaxmas · 10/02/2016 21:26

Alice, try not to overthink it! Easy to say, I know.. Are you cycles regular? If so you could always temp for one to confirm you're ovulating and see what signs you get in the lead up and then just keep track of those.

AliceScarlett · 10/02/2016 22:17

Good point wispa good point Smile

Cateroo · 10/02/2016 22:18

So today I'm 1 dpo - hope you're all doing well out there in the interweb X

ButtonTum · 11/02/2016 11:26

Hello again all. I'm still in the 'relaxed ttc from April' camp but have been doing opks, cm and temping like a beast to feed ovia with all its info everyday, so I know that at the right time I can be in there boom, just at the right time.
Had stomach cramps this morning suggesting ov day, as ovia suggests so did opk and got my first positive - so that's exciting. However can't help but feel like it's all a bit of a waste as no action until April now! At least we're headed in the right direction.
Anyone else just sitting pretty surrounded by al the kit?

thisisbloodyridiculous · 11/02/2016 11:44

Welcome marshpillow Grin

stumbly you're probably right but I think I might POAS on Sunday anyway just in case Wink although my fertile period is from tomorrow I reckon so DTD last night & planning to tomorrow & EOD for the next week. I was telling DH the plan last night & said it should get me 'good and pregnant'! Blush we can only hope!

Anyone else approaching ovulation?

thisisbloodyridiculous · 11/02/2016 11:46

button I have a really obsessive personality so doing my best to avoid opks & temping for now as it would only turn me into a mad woman!

mangocoveredlamb · 11/02/2016 11:46

I think I oved on Tuesday/Wednesday.
We managed Tuesday and going for EOD until middle of next week to be sure!

thisisbloodyridiculous · 11/02/2016 12:01

Good luck mango hope you catch the egg this cycle! Would be lovely to get some BFPs at the end of Feb Smile

mangocoveredlamb · 11/02/2016 12:03

You too this is!

Devgal · 11/02/2016 13:14

ButtonTum - I know what you mean about it being a waste for now, but I for one am so pleased I looked into things months before we actually were TTC because it has given me a chance to realize there was a prob then get it sorted! My cycles are now so much better (although still irregular) and I am starting to get to know my body now. I honestly do feel more relaxed about just going with it next month and seeing what happens. 2 or 3 months ago I would never have said that!

wispaxmas · 11/02/2016 16:35

Oh button, it's not a waste! It'll prevent a whole lot of paranoid worry when you DO start TTC. You'll know when you ovulate and you'll be able to recognise the signs, and if it doesn't happen right away you can just be happy knowing you did what you could and that so many eggs just don't get fertilised, and even if they do they don't always implant, so even if you do EVERYTHING right it might not happen. But then you won't end up scrambling around to get the hang of your cycle when you're already TTC. You're smart!

Ugh. So I weighed myself today. I'm officially the biggest I've ever been. I'm 12kg heavier than I was at my wedding in 2013 and 8kg heavier than I was when I fell pregnant with my first. So now my goal is to lose 8kg in 3 months. F*ck me, hopefully My Fitness Pal, Endomondo, using the spin bike at home and walking the dog will do the trick. That and not eating Nutella by the spoonful......... Blush Must get a bit into shape for TTC!!

wispaxmas · 11/02/2016 16:37

Ridiculous, I'm approaching ov, but not trying this cycle! I'm just waving pom-poms for everyone else and here to distract from any insane symptom spotting in your TWWs Wink
