Relaxed TTC Feb/March/April 2016

Hi,

We've just agreed to start TTC #1 in March so just starting to look at preparing for that - prenatal vitamins, losing some weight, etc.

I'm 33 and have only been with my OH for just over a year but we're both sure this is the relationship for us...we'll be getting married but want TTC as a priority and fit any wedding around Mother Nature.

Not planning any temp checking or charting or such like....maybe I'll change my mind if I'm not preggers after six months or so!

Anyone planning TTC about the same time and want to keep in touch on this thread for relaxed catch ups about preparing and then TTC?

I'm stuck in limbo waiting for my coil to be removed but I've been taking my temps and I've had a dip then a spike so I'm pretty sure I've ovulated this month. I'm daydreaming that I might beat the odds and get pregnant with the coil still in (bit bonkers I know)

Still I'm glad I'm getting to know my cycle and have been doing some practicing dtd as we got really lazy (or more accurately to exhausted). It seems ages away until March which is when my appointment is.

Fingers crossed for everyone staring a cycle this month.

Hmm I'm not sure they'll believe me but they know I wouldn't be not drinking for others reasons - it's quite far away so I was going to offer to drive (it's overnight) and just be like 'I have to drive'. I dunno - I'm not a great fibber but I would be loathed to say more than is necessary.

I'm t-total and just say "I don't drink anymore" or "nah alcohol doesn't agree with me these days" or "I just don't really fancy it" or " I've got to be up early in the morning " or drive. Many excuses honed over the years.

I'm so in denial about AF coming. Don't research spotting before BFP, don't do that.

I wouldn't worry about drinking when ovulating. I realised I was pregnant first time around whilst knocking back fizz at a party! Not ideal but all was well.
Sorry, am clearly a terrible example!

Blastocyts don't share blood supply until after implantation anyway.

True! I can see why people say "raspberry-baby". Zygote has always weirded me out, reminds me of the monsters in Dr Who.

True enough, I am an anxious creature though - and basically I would worry for 9 months for the sake of one evening. The anxiety isn't worth it for me. Blastocyst is a great word.

Sorry that you're out Alice....I'm hating being on AF as there's nothing I can do to conceive until it's bloody (no pun intended) finished.

I can't believe how preoccupied I've become with TTC....no idea I'd be this obsessed by the end of the first cycle!

Yeah my FW is different in FF than Ovia, Ovia has not taken into account my 29 day cycle and according to FF the last 2 days of the FW (Ovias) would be after ov. Hm.

I think Ovia counts two days after ov as part of the FW... I noticed that when putting in my details yesterday.

stumbly what day are you on now? I'm day 3.

I've had an awful day - my grandmother's funeral. I was very close to her & have felt like I'm in a trance all day. But when I start to feel normal again it's like the world is ending. I'm trying to distract myself with thoughts of a little one... and pizza. OH is out getting some now Grin

Sorry to hear that thisis...it's a tough time. Mind yourself this weekend and just let yourself cry when you need to. My gran passed away this summer and it hit me harder than I thought it would, grans are a lovely part of your life and if it hadn't been for her you wouldn't be here. Take comfort in the fact that when you have a little one, your grandmother lives on a little through him/her. Enjoy your pizza and snuggle up on the couch for tonight xxx

Felipa...I'm on day four today.

Would you ladies recommend Ovia or FF? So far I've just been using Pink Pad which was really more to keep track of my periods before TTC but it's getting on my nerves (says I have a medium chance of pregnancy today...on the 4th day of my period...I don't think so!).

Ovia is more user friendly, but FF seems more... Scientific. I'm hedging my bets by having both.

Can I ask you caffeine lovers do you cut it out completely, or just reduce?

I've been having two cups per day, but am thinking of cutting it out altogether - so hard though, its my only vice!!

I prefer coffee to wine!

I've been eating healthily, no wine, less coffee, don't smoke. Folic acid, exercise when I can.

AF yesterday, so looking forward to ovulation time..

lemon & stumbly thank you Flowers it's easier to talk about on her than IRL! We were so alike (unlike everyone else in our family) - I hope our eventual LO shares in that legacy somehow.

beardsrock I'm (allegedly) caffeine free after having so much it gave me heart problems Hmm but I still have a bit every now and again. I think one or two cups a day doesn't hurt - maybe cut down to one cup and see how you feel? You do need to give yourself treats & nice things every so often Smile

There seems to be a few of us currently having AF so at least we will all be in the same boat! Ovia is freaking me out though as it says 26 days until pregnancy test lol.

I am a caffeine lover and desperately trying to cut down now to 2-3 cups of tea or coffee per day.

Also a wine lover so will be having a couple this weekend and then nothing from then on as next weekend will be getting started properly!

Alice, Starky, with you 100% on the craziness after just one cycle. This morning on my walk to work I said to myself that if I saw an even number of pregnant women then I would take it as a good sign!!
