Hope it's not too presumptuous but the last thread was nearly full so thought I'd get a new one ready!

Thanks Soda. I agree im not a big drinker. With dd i was pregnant over Christmas and i wasnt fussed. Id rather be pregnant than drink. Xxx

FuzzyOwl · 15/12/2015 22:52

Hello, I have been a bit rubbish at keeping up but am making more of an effort now.

I think I ovulated today, so am now into the 2ww. The only positive of ovulating early seems to be that I can have a rest from dtd and AF should be due on Christmas Day, which means it will either be a great day or I will be getting drunk!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Sodasoda · 16/12/2015 12:49

I popped to the doctors today as I needed a repeat prescription. I thought I'd mention about TTC and just see whether they'd get me some blood tests (been TTC for 10 months now and I can't lie and say it's a year because docs know dates due to medication when I started TTC). The doctor was actually really nice and said he was happy to get me the tests and he's also ordered me an ultrasound! So feeling quite pleased that at least I can get some initial checks done. I'm supposed to go for blood tests on CD4 - is that right? I thought it was CD1 and CD21? Only one blood test was mentioned. So that'll be in the first week of January and DH is also booled in for SA then too.

FuzzyOwl · 16/12/2015 12:50

That is great Soda. I thought there were two blood tests to check for ovulation as well, but maybe this is a different way or to look at something else.

Kellz92 · 16/12/2015 13:45

thats great news soda xxx

Kirjava · 16/12/2015 13:46

soda'day 21 tests are to test for ovulation(your progesterone levels). Day 3 test shows your egg reserves. You should have both tests.

Kirjava · 16/12/2015 13:47

(Doesn't matter if day 3 is done in day 4)

Kirjava · 16/12/2015 13:48
MagpieCursedTea · 16/12/2015 13:56

Great new Soda! There's normally 2 blood tests. The CD3 which checks thyroid and I think ovarian reserves etc (AMH?) then CD21 (which is meant to be 7 days before your period is due I think) to check if you've ovulated. I'm sure there are others on the thread that can explain it all better! It was those blood tests that picked up my high prolactin levels so I think they test that too.

Fuzzy hope your 2ww passes quickly and that you get a Christmas bfp! That would be the best present ever!

Sammy thanks for the info about light AFs, very reassuring. Sounds like you had a very positive appointment and you've got a solid plan in place. Best of luck with the weight gain.

Pixa nice pom poms! [santa]

Kellz sorry for AF Sad best of luck for your next cycle!

Festive hugs to everyone else (a bit like a regular hug but with added mulled wine).
My OPK was darker again but still not positive. Still spotting though. Scan is tomorrow. Going to DTD tonight but feel slightly weird about that in relation to the scan tomorrow. I feel daft asking, but will anything from that show up? Blush or is that just a really silly question?

OP posts:
FuzzyOwl · 16/12/2015 14:10

Thanks Magpie and for the festive hugs. I love mulled wine! Is the scan internal? I doubt very much that they will be able to see anything and don't forget, if it is internal, they will use plenty of lube which will probably look the same if it is visible at all. I have had a fair few internal scans thanks to miscarriages and endometriosis and I honestly don't see how any evidence can be seen on the screen - and it never stopped me! Really hope it goes well tomorrow. Do you know how long before you have the results?

MagpieCursedTea · 16/12/2015 14:16

Thanks fuzzy, the doctor said it would be internal but the woman on the phone (and the letter they sent me) said I needed a full bladder so I'm not sure it will be. I've had both kinds of scans before, but I'm still very nervous (more about what they'll find I think). The letter says the results will be back with my doctor within 2 weeks. I'm hoping Christmas doesn't slow things down!

OP posts:
FuzzyOwl · 16/12/2015 15:01

I had a similar letter when I had some of my initial tests for endometriosis and had both types of scan, so I had to pop out to the loo half way through. It might be that they hope they can see enough with an external one or it could be that they intend to do both with you as well. Certainly at mine the sonographer was able to immediately tell me what she could see, so hopefully you will get similar information to put your mind at rest over Christmas.

Sodasoda · 16/12/2015 15:10

Thanks everyone. Yes I thought there was a CD21 scan too. Although for me it would be more like CD26! I'll have to follow up with GP. He seemed nice but a little clueless.

Good luck with the scan tomorrow magpie. I'm sure they won't be able to tell re DTD. And if they can so what? They'll probably just think 'lucky girl' Wink

DizzyMerry · 16/12/2015 16:00

Great news about the tests soda. It must be a relief to get the ball rolling.

Sammy seems like your appointment went really well. Hope you manage to gain some weight over the festive period.

Sorry AF got you kellz.

Magpie good luck with your scan tomorrow. As others have said I don't think they'll be able to tell you've dtd. My experience with scans is similar to what fuzzy has said. They ask you to have a full bladder hoping to see everything externally but if they struggle they will ask you to empty your bladder and then scan internally. The sonographer should be able to tell you what they can see whilst doing the scan so hopefully you won't be in limbo about the results.

Fuzzy I'm 1dpo so I'll join you in the boring tww. Hope it passes quickly for us.

How are you doing kir?

FuzzyOwl · 16/12/2015 16:26

Thanks Dizzy. It already feels like it is dragging, which doesn't bode well for the next few days.

Kirjava · 16/12/2015 16:35

Hi dizzym! I'm ok thanks. Anxious and tired mostly (and happy of course). How are you doing?

DizzyMerry · 16/12/2015 17:19

I'm ok kir. Managed not to pee on multiple opks a day this month like a crazed loon and just hope I can restrain myself when it comes to testing!

You're right fuzzy it does drag. As soon as I get to 1dpo it feels like time is at a standstill. Hopefully we can keep ourselves busy and nicely distracted.

Rainy34 · 16/12/2015 20:16

Boris Hope the baby shower is not to harsh for you, You will get your baby boris and when you do , they will be in complete surprise, keep your chin up!!

Magpie thank you so much, I felt on the second day of taking it some cramp feeling in my ovary that i get before i ovulate but that went away, woke up during the night feeling a bit sick but not sure if eating a load of maltasers was the real reason, other than that i have been fine so far, I'm cd 8 and have noticed more creamy discharge which i dont normally get much off, going to start dtd every two days from now until after xmas, don't know when i will ovulate, I read that you are spotting, do you get this often?

Soda I have now finished the clomid, on cd 8 so going to start dtd and see what happens, we have bought some things to spice it up as bit this month so its not just about making a baby, rather having some naughty fun too!! hopefully you will ovulate soon, i found the first month i used cbfm i ovulated really late and then the following month is bounced from cd 12 to 14, good luck and great news that your doctor is taking you seriously and getting the ball rolling with the tests!!

Sammy Im sure you will now have the perfect excuse to eat lots of food over christmas, glad you have a plan of action, i know its hard but enjoy Christmas and look forward to what could be a great year for you, fx for you!!!

Kellz92 · 16/12/2015 22:44

Thanks magpie and dizzy.

Going to try temping this cycle :) xx

DizzyNorthernBird · 17/12/2015 06:39

Morning! Just doing an early morning catch up!

rainy I got the microscope from Amazon:

www.amazon.co.uk/Ovulation-Microscope-Re-useable-Saliva-Fertility/dp/B0026RNRTQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=drugstore&ie=UTF8&qid=1450334012&sr=1-2&keywords=ovulation+microscope

It's got mixed reviews. I'm still getting used to it with it being my first cycle so I don't know exactly what I'm looking for. Will feed back later on once I've ovulated if you like Smile

DizzyNorthernBird · 17/12/2015 06:46

mummy hope you're doing ok. Moving is exhausting at the best of times, never mind when you've got two on board!!! Hope you're settling in OK. I'd been thinking about you and wondering whether you were affected by the floods but I take it you weren't! My family were all very lucky, other than power cuts no one was flooded.

kellz sorry for af, deffo give temping a go, I can't rate it highly enough and it's been a godsend for me with my dodgy cycles!

Hi pixa! Must catch up on your blog today. Hope you're doing ok.

sammy January will be here in a flash! And what better time of year for putting on weight Grin. Is this something you usually struggle with?

DizzyNorthernBird · 17/12/2015 06:55

fuzzy I hope your tww is going well so far! Fx af doesn't rock up on Xmas day!

soda that's great you're getting tested. I've only had cd21 bloods myself and my GP hasn't mentioned cd3 so I'm not sure whether that will come later for me. There's a few of us getting scanned soon now so hopefully we'll have some answers soon! I've moved my scan to 12th Jan so got a little bit of a wait. Cd21 bloods are tricky when you're irregular. I was lucky the month I did mine as I ovulated on time for once and had a big temp spike so I was able to book my blood test straight away. Some months I get a slow rise which would have made it difficult booking an appointment in time.

magpie I dunno about you but I'm feeling a bit dubious about drinking 2 pints of water and holding it for an hour! Last time I went to my hospital for an appointment (e.n.t ward) they were 50 minutes late Hmm Let us know how you get on!

DizzyNorthernBird · 17/12/2015 07:05

Sorry for cluster posts! Last one I promise!

So it's cd18 for me today and hopefully ov is on it's way! I had very wet cm yesterday and my temp has dropped this morning, but I'm refusing to take this as a sure sign as my body has tricked me plenty of times before. We dtd last night and cd14. From what i can tell my saliva microscope is only showing partial ferning but as its my first cycle using this I don't know how much trust to put in it. Might poas later.

Not sure whether to dtd tonight too or hold out until tomorrow, DP has a habit of burning out quickly and we'd planned for last night and Friday so he knows where we're at, no arguments. I suppose if I get a really strong line later I can see if he's willing to swap. If not tomorrow will do.

Kellz92 · 17/12/2015 09:18

Dizzy My thermometer should come today or tomorrow im really excited to start. Like a kid at Christmas, xx

BorisIsBack · 17/12/2015 09:44

dizzyn lovely to see your updates I hope your DH supprises you and wants to dtd. I'd POAS if I were you (but then again Id pee on anything these days).
