Hope it's not too presumptuous but the last thread was nearly full so thought I'd get a new one ready!

DizzyN sorry for the bfn, I noticed the open circle on CD27, so maybe if that was lower it would show ov on CD28? That wouldn't match your CM though. Hope you manage to have a good night down in Brighton anyway!

Hey sorry for the bfn. Still early though, fx AF stays away!

I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself this morning. I've been trying to lose some weight in case it helps the bleeding and I had a really good week food wise but the scales haven't moved at all Sad

OP posts:
GenghisKahnSchmitz · 10/02/2016 10:58

Blueberry I can imagine how frustrating it all is for you, but losing 4st is really impressive, and you should be rightly proud! I know that last 2 will be difficult but look how well you've done and I think that having a goal i.e. fertility treatment really helps though I know this doesn't always help

Hey sorry for the BFN and fingers crossed that it's just too early

DizzyN enjoy Brighton...sorry but I don't know much about charting denial but I did check your ferning. How are you finding the microscope? I'm in a love hate relationship with mine. Anyway, hopefully AF doesn't turn up

Magpie Sorry that you're feeling sorry for yourself - don't forget you always get troughs with weight loss which is shit so you might not see the result this week but it's still there and helping in the long term!

No news from me - just plodding on towards AF...

DizzyNorthernBird · 10/02/2016 12:54

Magpie cd27's temp was only an hour later than usual so it shouldn't make too much difference.....I've just worked out thatif I did ov on cd28 it means af isn't due until next Monday Hmm so I'm properly in limbo I guess.
Don't be too hard on yourself about your weight loss, keep going and you will see a difference soon. Don't forget that hormones/water retention can scew your true weight along with loads of other factors. Give it time. For me, I can fluctuate daily by up to 4 lbs! X

genghis I'm in a bit of a love hate relationship with mine too! It's only my second month of using it, as you can see I've only made a half hearted attempt. I need to be more consistant with it before I can judge whether or not it works for me. I'm not sure how accurate it is with my pco either, but I find if I use it first thing in the morning I never get any patterns at all, then in the afternoons I get some ferning but it's difficult to differentiate between partial and full ferns......I think I need a few more cycles to get used to it really. I love the idea of it though as I find opks so difficult to read and hate spending money on them!

loopylou1984 · 10/02/2016 16:12

Hi ladies, just checking in from the snow to mark my place so I don't lose you all. Hope everyone's ok?

DizzyN - for what it's worth I think you have ovd . Your cd29 temp onwards are too high for you not to have. Maybe it happened later though, cd28 is a possible? Xx

MagpieCursedTea · 10/02/2016 16:24

I've been given norethisterone to help with the bleeding. The doctor reckons it'll give me a break from the bleeding but it'll probably start again after I finish the tablets but at least I'll have my gynaecology appointment by then.

Sammy I hope you're having fun in the snow!

OP posts:
Nomio23 · 10/02/2016 17:53

Genghis, welcome. It is always lovely to see new faces on here.

Magpie, at least it will give you a break. I found that it helped psychologically when I wasn't bleeding all the time, even though the underlying problem was still there. Plus you can have sex again! Woohoo!

Blueberry, I think you have done amazingly well to lose so much weight. I know it is hard to keep going at times, but given how far you have already come, I am sure you will get there. It will all be worth it once you are finally able to get treatment.

DizzyN, keep on DTD just in case!

Hope you are having a lovely relaxing time, Sammy.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 11/02/2016 01:32

DizzyN I've been using the microscope for about 6 months now, and while I also really love the idea of it (and seeing the ferns) I'm still not 100% sold. One of my issues is also not being able to tell the difference between full and partial ferning - I looked a lot online but really couldn't find much useful information. I found one blog but was nearly more confused by her pictures (which were nothing like mine) and then she didn't update it so never did find out if it was useful shakes fist Every month since I started using it, I have seen some ferning but it's not always continuous (as in for a few days), or else is at 'odd' times of the month. I also know what you mean about depending on the time of the day for checking, however, I tend to forget after I check first thing in the morning, and then during the day hardly ever have two hours where, I haven't drunk coffee/tea or had fruit etc (I must try harder) This month I've had absolutely no ferning Sad so am wondering if it's just something wrong with me rather than my fern reading abilities!

Magpie good luck with the norethisterone - I was also prescribed that after I had a few months of continual bleeding a few years back. My GP gave me the impression that it was supposed to kick-start my cycle again so fingers crossed it works for you.

Thanks for the welcome Nomio and enjoy your holiday Sammy

MagpieCursedTea · 11/02/2016 09:02

Genghis that's interesting, did it work to kick start your cycles again then? I've been trying to figure out Google if I'm more likely to ovulate but not coming up with much. The leaflet in the meds packet said that I'll have a withdrawal bleed 2-4 days after finishing the course and then if I don't see a temp rise in the second half of my cycle the bleeding issue is likely to reoccur. I was just excited that the leaflet mentioned temping!

Nomio you're right about the psychological break from it, I'm just so sick of bleeding!

DizzyN how's things today? Any sign of AF?

I had about half the amount of bleeding overnight than I've been having so I guess the norethisterone must be doing it's thing. I'm off for more acupuncture today as well. Feels like progress, slow progress but in the right direction.

OP posts:
heydiddlediddle123 · 11/02/2016 11:39

Good morning!
Hope your acupuncture goes well today magpie and glad to hear that the norethisterone is starting to do its thing

I'm going to start temping from now - just ordered a thermometer to get started! The saliva method sounds pretty interesting too but something you do have to get used to. I'm not sure I'd be much cop at that but would give it a go!

Bfn this morning for me, but still on my fertilitea and trying to stay positive

How are you today dizzy ?

Hope you're enjoying the snow sammy very jealous

Hope you all have a lovely day whatever you're doing!😘 x

BorisIsBack · 11/02/2016 11:51

Hi all sorry for my recent silence. I'm trying and failing to stay calm and un stressed before IVF. Had a doctors appt today, HSG tomorrow, drugs start probably next week. dH is busy and tired at the mo and not being particularly supportive.

Thanks for asking after me magpie, I'm ok, just about. How's you??

blueberry hugs to you. It's a tough this old journey. Focus on your fitness as much as you can, it makes a big difference to fertility says the hypocrite with a massive bar of chocolate on her desk and who forgot to bring her running shoes

gengis thanks for un lurking. It's lovely to know who is out there. I hope your journey with us will be short!! Welcome.

Waves to hey, dizzyn, sammy, nomio and everyone.

MagpieCursedTea · 11/02/2016 16:10

Borris it's all happening for you! Exciting times! Sorry to hear your DH isn't being very supportive. Could he being worrying about the IVF too but just hiding it away? Any chance of you two getting some quality time in the next few days to talk? All the best for the HSG. We're all here to support you Thanks

Hey sorry for the bfn! Good luck with the temping.

I called the doctors for my results and the receptionist said they were normal Hmm I've asked for a copy and said she's got to run it past the doctor but I should be able to pick them up tomorrow.

OP posts:
DizzyNorthernBird · 11/02/2016 19:49

ghengis it's difficult trying to remember not to eat or drink isn't it? I always fall foul of that too! Don't forget also that salts can affect your results, I.e if you've been exercising and have sweat around your mouth or on your hands....

magpie how can your results possibly be normal? They've missed something out there.......

Hi boris! Why isn't DP being supportive? I'm sure it's just because he's feeling the same emotions as you are. Good luck for you hsg (what is that again?) and let us know how you get on. You're almost there!

hey see how you get on with the temping first before saliva microscope, you might not need it!

sammy hope you're enjoying your hols! How's the snow? The consensus on the FB group is also ov on cd28 Hmm Confused. Looks like I've properly fucked things up this month! So that would make me 11dpo today and af will start on Sunday night. Zero chance of a bfp!! face palm

waves at nomio

loopylou1984 · 11/02/2016 20:09

Thanks all, the snow is ace! Was a white out all morning today though, so lots of time in the bar :). Think I'm 2dpo judging by boob soreness but haven't temped so not really sure.

DizzyN - ah well, nothing you can do about it now. Have a Winewith me instead.
I'm not sure whether to be pleased or very sad that I'm becoming so good at reading charts Hmm

Will catch up with everyone properly when I'm back, but welcome to ghengis! Xx

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 12/02/2016 04:47

Good luck with the HSG Boris It's all systems go for you now - it must be really exciting but also nerve wracking. I hope everything goes well, and your DP becomes more supportive.

Magpie that's really frustrating about the results - will your doctor be able to tell you more? Just about the norethisterone - I didn't end up taking it because by the time I'd bought the prescription it actually just stopped Confused so it just stayed in the cupboard (I had had continuous bleeding for months but was too embarrassed to go to the GP as I was abroad and couldn't speak the language silly ). I really hope it works for you.

Sorry about the missed ov DizzyN It's so hard isn't it? Thanks for the tip about the sweat as I hadn't realised that.

Hey sorry about BFN, and good luck with charting. I keep thinking I should start but part of me is scared I'll become even more neurotic about TTC (if possible!) and I know there would be some eye-rolling from DP. I'll be interested to see how you get on.

Thanks for the welcome Sammy It sounds like you're having a lovely time especially enforced drinking

Happy Friday everyone!

MagpieCursedTea · 12/02/2016 10:13

DizzyN I know! I'm going to pick them up later today and will report back. How are you doing today?

Sammy I'm having a serious case of envy about your holiday. I love snow and the idea of sitting in a bar watching it come down is my idea of heaven. We need a Bumsnet ski trip Wink

Genghis I'm hoping it works too, the heavy bleeding has gone back to light/spotting so that's progress. I'm not sure I'm going to see the GP about the results. When the receptionist said they were normal she also said I might need to see the GP if I'm still having problems but I've got gynaecology on 24th so might as well wait for that. How's things with you?

OP posts:
FuzzyOwl · 12/02/2016 10:37

Sorry for all the BFNs and Dizzy I reckon you did ovulate although I am not an expert with charts.

I was expecting to ovulate on Monday or Tuesday of next week (maybe even Wednesday) but despite having cm and twinges I only did an opk today and it is strongly positive. As mine as usually strong for two to three days and it is so early in the morning, this means I probably am ovulating right now whilst DH is at work and when I haven't DTD for a week because we planned on starting tonight. I am so unreasonably upset by this and the fact that I have completly ruined my chances for this month. Maybe acupuncture last week brought ovulation forward? I just wish I had regular, predictable cycles and ttc was as easy as ordering things online. Sad At least I suppose that by ovulating sooner, AF will arrive sooner and I will have another attempt sooner.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 12/02/2016 10:45

I'm well Magpie Due AF next Thurs/Fri but am more excited/nervous about my appointment the following week as I have no doubt AF will arrive in all her glory. It's a pity you won't get more info about your results but fingers crossed for positive gynae. appointments!

nightandthelight · 12/02/2016 11:11

Happy Birthday Merry! Hope you have a fab one :) Cake

MagpieCursedTea · 12/02/2016 12:40

Fuzzy you might still be in with a chance if you DTD when DH gets home. Jump him when he walks through the door! It's very frustrating not having regular cycles but it's good that the acupuncture is having an impact, you might start to see more of a pattern.

Genghis which appointment is it that you have next week? You've probably said but I've got a terrible memory.

I've got my results:
Prolactin 211 mIU/L which shocked me by being well within normal range. Maybe because I'm off the meds that increased it before (when TTC DS), I've been off them for a month but if that was causing the bleeding then it should've stopped by now.
LH 9.0 iu/L which is just in the follicular phase (mid cycle is 10 upwards)
FSH 4.0 again in the follicular phase (mid cycle is 5 upwards but follicular can be up to 10, no idea how that works).

That's it! I'm none the wiser, hopefully they'll be able to tell me more at my gynaecology appointment. Any insight from any of you who know about these things is greatly appreciated.

OP posts:
FuzzyOwl · 12/02/2016 13:18

Thanks Magpie but that will be much later and I am resigned to it being next cycle now. Sorry I don't know about your results but I am sure others from this group will as so many have been for tests. When is your appointment?

BorisIsBack · 12/02/2016 15:50

Magpie have you googled LH FSH ratio? I think that might give you an idea of questions to ask the doctor at your appt. they might want to talk about pcos with you, worth reading up before you go. Flowers you'll get your baby.

Happy birthday DizzyM hope you are ok.

Night! how are you and your gorgeous boy doing?

Fuzzy how frustrating! Hope you can DTD tonight and tomorrow, you are still in with a chance!

Hey sorry for bfn

HSG went ok. No blocked tubes. dizzyn the HSG is where they inject dye through into your womb and check for blockages and polyps. It's not dignified or comfortable. I had four women in the room all looking at my fanjo. Sad Id better get my baby after going through this indignity.
I think DH isn't being supportive because he just doesn't understand it. He's busy and tired because of work, and probably as confused and frustrated as I am... Ah well.

nightandthelight · 12/02/2016 17:07

Well thank you Boris :) Sounds like things are really moving with your IVF! I am so excited for you. Hope DH steps up a bit more for you though :)

MagpieCursedTea · 12/02/2016 17:16

Borris glad to hear that the HSG went well, all steam ahead for you!
I have, of course been googling like a woman possessed! I noticed PCOS came up a lot. My acupuncturist has asked me about it a couple of times so I think it's in her head about me too. Hopefully I'll find out soon!

Fuzzy sounds pretty frustrating for you, this whole business can be very stressful. I hope you get your chance this month but you will get there! My appointment is 24th Feb, I'm counting the days.

Happy birthday to DizzyM ThanksCake

OP posts:
GenghisKahnSchmitz · 13/02/2016 00:44

Fuzzy that is so annoying. I hope you managed to dtd as soon as he walked in the door.

Boris Happy to read the HSG went well. The fanjo viewing - well at least it's over and you've taken another step the hsg not the fanjo viewing because that would be weird

Magpie I'm sorry I don't know about your results medical knowledge based on playing Operation as a child but like Boris' idea, and at least you should get info. from your appointment. My appointment is also with a gynaecologist. However, I have had no blood tests etc yet as where I am you get referred first (I think as that's what has happened to me!)

Belated Happy Birthday DizzyM and hope everyone has a great weekend (and AF stays away DizzyN)!

Kellz92 · 14/02/2016 10:13

Just want to say hello. Been a bit distant. Well more than usual. Cd9 today. Trying smep this cycle. Temping again and dh bought preseed so that should arrive well in time for my peak.

Sorry to those who AF got and congrats to those who got bfps.

I thought I was going to get my bfp but AF got me two days early. Fx for us all to get bfp soon xxx
